Another usual day for Patrolling was really nice for Kion and his friends today. It was part of his daily duties after all. It went on for an hour and a half, and surprisingly, there was not a single sign of any trouble at all.

It was probably the most peaceful day out in the Pride Lands so far right now.

One thing could happen, but it cannot be predicted, as it was part of the future. No one can predict the future and figure out what exactly will happen in any given location, not even Rafiki. "Wow, can you believe there was no trouble or something violent going on here?" said Kion with a smile.

"I know." said Beshte. "Rather crazy, because there's no such thing as a perfect plan."

"Except for the kind of Grub to chew on!" said Bunga. "Leave it to uncle Timon and uncle Pumbaa to create the best kind of food to provide for us."

"You you mean." said Fuli. "Not every animal likes grub."

"I know." the honey badger sighed

"Janja and his gang are good guys now and Reirei hasn't been seen anywhere with her family." Ono pointed.

"Maybe she and her family are giving up on trying to come up with evil schemes?" said Bunga in theory.

"No. I don't think so." said Kion. "Not every one can change from evil to good. She might be trying to plan something smarter."

"Well, hey," said Fuli. "at least we have friends surrounding the Pride Lands now, so that means: they can help out if we can't."

"So true, Fuli." said the prince with a bigger smile on his child face. "Our outside friends know who we are and they can help us in any way possible."

"Right!" said the rest of his comrades.

"Well, we searched high and low for anything weird or suspicious, and maybe... we should just call it a day on the patrol? At least until something does happen, which we'll never know when."

"Good point." said Bunga. "Besides, I still need to eat some breakfast." the honey badger patter his hungry belly.

"You're always hungry, Bunga." Ono rolled his eyes.

"Well, yeah, I'm a honey badger and we don't really have a strict diet when it comes to food."

"Well, I guess I'll see you guys in a little while." said Kion. "But if something does happen, come find me right away and we'll help out whoever needs our help."

"Right!" his friends repeated. They then all disbanded and went in different directions. While Kion would normally head back to his home in Pride Rock, he went in a rather different direction this time. He went back to the human camp where the human family was temporarily settling in for only a few more days now before they head back to their home (wherever their home was).

Time was running out and the clock was ticking faster than Kion thought it was before the humans come back home from their vacation. Still, he can just enjoy his time with Chris while he can before they go away for a while.

After all: the humans can always come back another time, though the exact date of their return is unknown. There they were preparing their morning once more with Joel shaving his face with some kind of tool, and Tara texting, and Persephkner brushing her mane of hair.

For Chris, he was looking at something in the direction, and it appeared to be the far mountains in the distance. "Chris?" said Kion. "You ok?"

"Oh Kion, you're back." said the human boy with a smile, running up to meet him again.

"There wasn't any trouble out there." said the lion cub.

"Isn't that a good thing?" said Persephone. "I mean, if there is no trouble, then it's peaceful, right?"

"True. But we'll never know when something will pop up."

"True." said Joel. "And most animals can take care of themselves." then he was done shaving.

"Joel, I don't understand why you would do that to your face. So much hair isn't all that bad."

"Maybe. But a long beard or mustache on my face makes me a little... scruffy-looking. I wanna look presentable at times, and there are certain times for many humans to shave parts of their skin to keep themselves clean. Personal hygiene."

"Ah."

"So Kion, since you're here, wanna play?"

"Sure." the cub smiled. They then went up a small knoll not far from the camp, though Joel was a little reluctant to let Chris out there since he is a protective father. Persephone and Tara reassured him that with Kion, Chris will be fine.

On the knoll, Kion and Chris were wrestling with each other and having some fun together. It was almost like their were becoming siblings in an instant, and they were laughing with joy.

Over the course of there playing, they were getting a little tired from all that energy being used out of them and they both took a break. "So Chris, how long are you going to be here?"

"Three more days."

"Three more days?" said Kion in surprise. "I guess time goes by fast."

"I know. So are you feeling better from that nightmare?"

"Uh-huh. But I don't think the trauma will go away."

"Don't worry, Kion." said Chris. "It can't be helped so much. I mean, just think about how awesome and amazing you and your grandparents fought against Inuwa, like how you killed him."

The cub smiled and realized Chris was right, he was amazing against a Lion like Inuwa. He can always count of grandfather Mufasa, grandmother Sarabi, and all of the deceased kings and queens of the past to help him out when he needed it the most.

"Yeah, you're right. I was pretty amazing. I was like... a chosen one."

"Yeah a chosen one. Just remember that whenever something looks dark, there is always a small light of hope."

"Right." The cub looked around at his surroundings some more, and couldn't help but ask his human friend: "so you have a girlfriend?"

"No. My parents said I'm too young to have a girlfriend." Chris said. "Although there is a girl in my class i really like."

"What's her name?"

"Jackie Thompson. She's the master beautiful girl i have ever seen in my life. She's nice, beautiful, popular, kind,"

"You really like her?"

"I do. More than anything." Chris said. "I just want to talk to her and get to know her."

"What's stopping you?"

"Well..." Chris looked a little uncomfortable. "Every time I try to talk to her, I always get shy, and... the words just go away from my head as soon as I come face-to-face with Jackie. Gah! I don't know what's wrong with me! I mean-- why does she have to be so cute?"

Kion couldn't help but chuckle a little. "Chris, it's ok." he said, "I understand that feeling. I mean, sometimes when I see Rani, I don't really know what to say sometimes either." he looked embarrassed himself. "I mean, Rani is my girlfriend, but I can make a fool out of myself sometimes, even if she is my girlfriend."

"How do you talk to her in a friendly conversation?" asked the human boy.

"I just be myself and just be confident in my own pelt. Kiara said that's all a girl wants, just a boy to he himself."

"But what if Jackie doesn't like me?"

Now Kion looked a little unsure about this conversation. "I... don't know for sure. I mean, I've never met the girl you like, so I can't be sure." he slightly turned his head away. "I mean if she rejects you than don't worry about it. Love doesn't come easy."

"How long did it take for you and Rani to get know each other?"

"A few weeks, but every relationship is different from what I've seen. And you have to understand that: there's no such thing as a perfect girlfriend. You need to compare the good and the bad."

"True. I know that no relationship can be perfect. Have Kiara and Kovu argued before?"

"A few times, but I just stay out of it because it's... not really my business anyway. But they always work something out. But the point is, just be yourself and tell Jackie how you feel about her. Just don't scare her or try anything flashy at her. Just be you."

Chris smiled and realized that Kion was right. All he needed to do is just talk to the girl of his dreams and just confess his feelings to her when he gets back to school when he returns home. "Thanks Kion. You're right. Even if she rejects me?"

"Even if she does reject you, it still feels good to get it out of yourself." Kion pointed. "Just talk to her to get rid of the butterflies in your stomach."
