The Crystal Prison

Written: April 4, 2006

Both minds are trapped in a crystal prison. Tied together by blood and by sin, one will seek asylum in the east, and drag the other, who stumbles in pursuit, ever-obligingly. But then this 'other' will catch a fleeting glimpse of

Mother.

And the two minds – one is One and the other, Other – are caught in an invisible mirror of many-angled mirrors. A world without true colour, but many deceptive refractions. Wisps of hair grasp at the back of Other's mind, and One doesn't notice that Other is being enticed away until it's almost too late. The locks, the tilt of her face, her lips on his, the cherished fragrance reminiscent of something and nothing at all... One does not (will not) remember. All he sees is

Death.
