MUSHROOM KINGDOM'S LAST HOPE

SUPER MARIO / DRAGONBALL FANFICTION

Chapter 1 Plea from Another World

What was once the beautiful, populated city of Toad Town, now laid in ruins as the site of Koopatrols and Hammer Brothers roaming the streets in search for any citizens. Any poor civilians these members of the Koopa Troop spot are captured and put to work, reimagining the town into the evil dictator's image.

"Hey, you!" a Hammer Brother shouted; as his fellow Koopatrols chase after a family of Toads, trying to get away.

The family ran as fast as they could until they reached a dead end and were now surrounded by these no good Koopa Troop members. Smirks and laughing could be seen over the terrified crying of the three small children and fear across the parents faces.

"You people will be a good help for Lord Bowser, especially the children." A Koopatrol remarked.

"You won't harm my children you no good jerks!" the father shouted only to get hit with a flying wooden mallet from the Hammer Bro.

"That will shut you up, fool." The Hammer Bro smirked, as the wife cried out for her husband.

"Get them boys!"

As the Koopatrols launched for their attacks, all of a sudden, the vile koopas were thrown back and smashed into a building wall. Looking around the Hammer Brother wondered who did that.

Opening their eyes fearing it was mercifully over, only to see a man with long black hair standing in front of them, wearing a long black World War II style jacket and black boots, and a sword case strapped to his back.

"How about you creeps pick on someone your own size?" the man said, with disgust and determination in his voice.

"Wha… who the hell in the name of King Bowser do you think you are?" one of the Koopatrols said, picking himself up, just as the other two were doing the same thing.

"I am the guy that is going to teach you a lesson." Both koopas looked at one another before laughing.

"Oh we better run! Please you don't scare us boy, there is four of us and only one of you." The Hammer Brother remarked the numbers advantage, spinning his hammer around.

Staying quiet, the man just stared down at the vile koopas. Getting annoyed, the four Koopa Troop members surrounded the man in a circle. Using a scouter looking device over his right eye, the Hammer Brother could read the stranger's power level.

"Hmph, this moron has a low level. Well boy time to say goodnight." He responded before tossing a barrage of hammers at the guy.

Blocking each flying hammer, the hammer brother looked on in disbelief. Extending his arm out, a loud scream following an explosion and a cloud of smoke appeared, after the man fired a ki blast. As the smoke cleared, the eyes of the armored koopas bulged out in shock seeing the hammer brother vanished.

"Why you, ATTTACKKK!" the three koopastrols charged at the guy; only for slashing noises to be heard.

*CLICK*

Once standing still, all three fell to the ground face down, the family couldn't believe what they saw; this mysterious man appeared out of nowhere and took out the Koopa Troop soldiers with ease. Walking over to them, kneeling down to the older Toad, he fed him something green and within seconds, the father got up.

"DAD!" the kids hugged their father, soon being joined by his wife with a hug and a kiss.

Turning to the man, the family smiled and bowed their heads in respect.

"Thank you sir"

"Thank you mister, you saved our father."

"I'm just glad you are all ok." The man smiled. "Is there a place for you to hide safe?"

"Yes, we were trying to head towards the Toad Town Sewers, but we got lost." The father said, looking at his family.

"Well I'll help you find it." The man offered, getting smiles of joy from the Toads.

"Thank you mister, there should be a green pipe, that way." They pointed in the direction.

Nodding, the man escorted the family towards the south in search of the pipe. Looking puzzled, the man and the family searched; after a half an hour looking, the family pointed at the pipe they were looking for.

"That's it. This pipe takes us to the Sewers."

Jumping on the Toads went down the big plumbing pipe. Confused the hero climbed up[ on the pipe as well, sucked down the pipe, taking him to a underground sewer just underneath town. Many of the Kingdom's capital town civilians that lived in the town; escaped by hiding in a secret location, which was here.

"So this is everyone?" the man asked, only to get a sad look.

"Not everyone, only the ones that escaped the attack of King Bowser; many people lost their lives, few are being held as slaves." An older bearded toad came forward.

"Gosh that's awful." The man said, remembering something.

"Who are you sir?" the toad asked; as the gentleman thought whether to tell who he was or not.

"My name is Ty, I came here from another world to help you all." The young warrior said; everyone looked confused and or overjoyed to hear somebody has come to help them.

"Really, thank, thank sir! We want to quit living in this nightmare." The parents said, looking down towards their small children, looking scared but also he could see a sparkle of hope in his eyes.

"I'd love to stick around, but I have to find the Shooting Star Summit." Ty said, stating where he needed to head to.

"That's easy; from here you go straight, passed the Princess's castle and go right, that takes you to the Summit." The father directed the man towards.

"Thank you sir, I'm sorry I can't be more help, but I will do my best." Ty said, glancing at the family, who in return gave him a hug.

"You were a big help, thank you again for saving us." The wife replied in a motherly tone.

"Now that you are here Ty, we know now there is hope here after all." The kids said, in a smile.

Waving goodbye, Ty shot up the pipe and back on above ground level, and headed in the direction he was instructed. Being careful, Ty couldn't help but think about those poor people. To the young man, from the looks of how the sewer was set up, the Toads had to have been living in that environment for more than a year, maybe less. Passing through the big star shaped gate, Ty couldn't believe the site in front of him; what the father Toad called the Princess's castle looked like a bomb had exploded, something he remembered his father talking about the way he had to live and survive with Grandma Bulma.

'Gosh, Supreme Kai and Merlon weren't lying; this is bad, now I know what my father and mother had to do to survive.' Ty thought; horrified at the destruction.

**TIME SKIP**

Echoes of blocking fists and kicks could be heard miles away; three men looking to be fight training where going all out. One took a break as the other took their place. Ty is facing off against a black haired man in orange and blue clothing with a mechanical arm. Blocking his punches and getting his kicks blocked, Ty fired a ki blast only for it to get swatted as the other man fired one of his own; to dodge it by vanishing within seconds before contact.

"M-Man Gohan…" Ty panted, while sweat poured from his forehead.

"Say… for your-yourself Ty; you've definitely improved." Gohan replied, throwing him a towel as he wiped the sweat off his head.

"How about we take a break guys, Mai almost has dinner ready soon." The purple haired man said.

"Ok Trunks!"

"Ok dad!"

Peace once again returned to the Earth after the events of Goku Black, as the two half saiyans hovered back on the ground; something or someone's voice caught their attention.

"Gohan, Ty, can you hear me?"

"Dende, what's going on?" Gohan asked telepathically.

"I have some visitors at the Lookout, bring trunks as well." The namekian guardian said, his voice seemed troubling, as Gohan and Ty nodded and got the Future savior.

Arriving at the Lookout, the three men saw not only Dende and Mister Popo, but the Supreme Kai and Kibito Kai as well.

"Long time no see." Supreme Kai said smiling.

"It's good to see you too." Gohan smiled back. "So what brings you guys here?"

"That's why I called you guys." Dende answered, getting confused looks from the half-saiyans.

"You see there is a bit of a situation on another world." Supreme Kai started off.

"Really, so why does that involve us?" Trunks asked, little concerned where this was going.

"Shall I explain even more Supreme Kai?" a mysterious voice echoed.

"Wha…?" All three saiyans looked around seeing no one but them.

"Of course sir." The Kai answered.

"Thank you, my name is Merlon, I wish I could say it's nice to finally meet the finest warriors; but sadly that's not the case right now." The voice sighed as he started. Trucks, Gohan, and Ty could tell the dismay in this man's voice.

"What's the situation?" the youngest warrior asked.

"Our world is in incredible danger, all our heroes have been killed by an evil dictatress monster, and our sweet princess will have to force to marry this tyrant, many people have lost their lives by this beast. He has a thrust for blood and power." Merlon stated, as everyone on the Lookout face's looked up in horror and disgust, all but one who had his fists clinched.

"That's awful, is there anyone else that can stand up to this being?" Gohan asked calmly, trying to keep his emotions in check.

"Sadly, there is no one my boy, I'm not that strong enough and everyone else is trying not to be spotted by his minions, and our other guardians are dead, and my other family members have been captured." The faces dropped.

"Why would that despicable jerk kidnap your family?" Ty asked, trying not to explode in anger over what he was hearing.

"Our family has something that he wants, and what we have is our last hope. That's why I am reaching out to you, but I cannot say what it is here, I'd like you to come to our world and I'll explain it all to you." Gohan and Trunks looked at each other knowing they'd put the Earth in danger if they all leave, both couldn't just sit back while a world is suffering like they did.

"I'll volunteer." Everyone turned to Ty who straightened up and Trunks smiled seeing the look of determination like he did.

**PRESENT TIME**

Passing through the ruins of the castle and flying up towards the mountain, shooting stars falling like rain, the young man watched in awe at the beautiful site.

"Wow no wonder this is the Shooting Star Summit." He said, as stars kept going by him every second.

Avoiding the raining sparkling stars, flying closer to the top, Ty could see in plain sight a short white bearded person with only a blue wizard outfit and a matching colored hood over his head. Descending in front of the wizard, both exchanged a nod.

"Thank you for coming, my boy, you must be Ty?" Merlon stated kind of checking over the young man.

"Yes sir, and you must be Merlon, I could tell the despair that is clouding this world." Merlon slightly smiled at the determination in the warrior's voice.

"For the last year, I have had to watch and witness the horror this vile, evil tyrant has been causing on the Mushroom World. If only our guardians and heroes wouldn't have… have been murdered." Ty's head looked down, hearing the pain in the wizards tone.

"So what are we dealing with Merlon?" the half- saiyan asked, wanting to destroy this pest.

Pulling a crystal ball from his robe, Ty looked into the ball, and the pictures he witness was everything he had heard. The monster is a turtle looking beast, stealing a rod with a star on top and using it for his power, killing seven star-looking people. Next is a fight between the beast and two brothers, one short with red colored clothing and a taller guy with green clothing. Impressed with the two's ability to hold their own; only for a moment seeing the monster's used the rod, gaining ultimate power and murdering the two heroes, as a beautiful blond long haired princess collapsed next to one of the brothers, crying heavily. Ty's fists balled up seeing the princess locked up in a room in a castle with a volcanic wasteland.

"That bastard" the ground started shaking, as Ty's anger grew after seeing the horrible events.

"Easy my boy, I know it's hard to watch, but I asked you here because…" As Ty was going to speak up, Merlon pulled out another crystal ball, however this one was smaller and looked like there is one star in the center of it. "These artifacts are handed down to our family for centuries…" Ty stopped Merlon from continuing.

"Merlon what you have, is a dragon ball." The half-saiyan recognized right away what the wizard had in his possession.

"A dragon ball?" Merlon repeated.

"Yes, there are seven in total, once all seven are collected, you can call out the eternal dragon, who can grant any wish the collector's desire is." Ty explained the origin of the dragon balls.

"I see, how do you know of these dragon balls?"

"On Earth, there was a set, but the guardian died trying to save our planet, and once the guardian is gone, the dragon balls were gone until we found a new guardian." Ty said.

"I see, so is there, the eternal dragon can wish back those who have died?" Ty nodded at Merlon's question.

"Yes, but only if it hasn't been too long; from what I gather, your heroes probably won't be wished back to life, because of how much time has passed." The wizard's face dropped hearing that the Mario Bros. couldn't be wished back. "However, we can try to wish all those that recently have perished; maybe your guardians could be brought back."

"Hmmm… that's brilliant." Merlon thought, before coming to the same agreement.

"You have one; I'm guessing your family members have the remaining six?"

"Yes, that's why Bowser and his minions have been targeting us. He must have heard of the dragonballs and want to prevent us from granting a wish and have a wish to himself." Merlon explained the situation.

"Ok, so in other words we have to move quickly."

"Yes, they have been warned ahead of time, so they have been in hiding." Merlon said, as Ty pulled out a circular device, pushing the button on top, the device started beeping and showed a pair of small green dots.

"My word"

"This is a dragon radar; this thing can track the energy from the dragonballs and shows where the nearest one is." Ty explained what the device was, before looking at it. "From the looks of it, one is to the east of this location." Looking at the spot, Merlon knew where that was.

"If I am correct, my son lives not too far from a village, where that spot is showing." Feeling the uncomfortable energy he felt, Merlon turned only to see nothing but he could sense something.

"Goombas, one of his goons heard everything." Ty looked around not seeing anything but could sense a power level.

"Looks like this situation just got more serious." Getting a small nod from Merlon.

**BOWSER's CASTLE**

In a flash, a witch-looking koopa in a blue robe flew swiftly towards the castle in the middle of volcanic wasteland. Inside the beast in question, with another older magikoopa in purple clothing, along with another reptile-looking monster; are consulting up until the blue robed magikoopa came in the big thrown room.

"Your badness, I have some news." The magikoopa stated, rushing over to the villains.

"Well spit it out Kamek, we don' have all day." The leader said, seemingly not wanting to be bothered.

"These Shaman weaklings seem to have recruited a warrior to help fight us." Kamek said, getting a snicker from the turtle-beast.

"Psst, the Koopatrols and Hammer Bros, should have taken care of that runt, yes?" he asked, confident.

"Actually, two of our guards and a Hammer Bro were taken out with ease." Kamek reported as, the boss turned his back.

"Figures, with all the damn training I put these weaklings through, they can't even beat a weakling." He disgustingly said.

"On that subject, this unknown fighter seems to be a skilled fighter." Pulling out his crystal ball, every looked to see a young man blasting a ki blast, killing their soldiers.

"Hmm, interesting." The other reptile said, seeing this.

"Kamek, who is he?" the older witch asked.

"Don't really know mother, all I heard this guy came from another world, to help these Shaman fools in search of something called Dragon balls." Kamek used his magic to pull the imagine of the crystal dragon ball on his crystal ball.

"Dragon balls? What are they powerful jewels? Because if they, are it's meaningless." Bowser stated with confidence holding up the Star Rod. "With this Star Rod in my possession, nobody is as strong as I am." Laughing with sickening joy, Kamek wasn't laughing.

"As much as I agree with you, your Mightiness, the situation is once the seven balls are gathered; they can make a wish to something called the Eternal Dragon. And… if that happens, they c can... wish those Star Spirits back to life." A loud slam shook the castle, startling everyone.

"WHHHAAATTTTT! THOSE FOOLS HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE UP AGAINST, I WANT THOSE FORTUNE PESTS DEAD!"

"Now, now brother watch your blood pressure." The reptile put his hand on his hot-headed sibling. "Instead of that, think about this, why not have our high ranking Koopa Troop members capture and torture these Shaman fools, and get the dragon balls for our shelves. Think about it, we could rule not only this pathetic little world, but the whole universe." The brother suggested a better plan.

"You know your badness, Blue here has a great idea, think about it, you could wish for eternal life." The purple-robed magikoopa said, liking the idea.

"Hmmm, you both have a great point…. Kammy, have preparations for the Koopa Troop, we are dragon hunting! Bwa ha ha ha ha!"

"Nyeah heh heh heh! Yes, my Lord Bowser."

As if the situation couldn't get any more dire for the Mushroom Kingdom; now the power-hungry King Bowser now has his sights set on finding the Dragon balls as well. Can our new hero find and save the Mushroom Kingdom as their last shining hope; or will the vile Koopa Troop have the last laugh? Stay tuned to find out.
