Chapter Ten: The Appearance of Lord Dragon Braxxus

He stepped on to the firm ground for the first time in the nearly eight months that he had been pursuing the fugitive that was on the loose. He observed his surroundings with a scowl on his face; his eyes squinted in a manner as though he was trying to douse the light of the sun. His dragonesque tail whipped anxiously from side to side. "Lord Braxxus, they are awaiting your orders," The dark, crisp, voice of a woman still in the shadows still in the shadows informed him.

"Are they really waiting for my orders or are you Eclypse? No matter, send Mycan and Isolde first, then when they return from the scout we shall decide how to uproot this foul little rat from her hiding place." His deep voice sounded gruffly. "And Eclypse, I want you to find the might Prince Vegeta, he will want to witness the downfall of his regime."

"Yes my lord," She replied with the nod of her head, melting back into the shadows once more. Eclypse moved soundlessly through the ship searching for Mycan and Isolde to instruct them the way Lord Braxxus had expected her too. She found the crew sitting around laughing in the galley.

"Well, what do you know it's Eclypse; we haven't seen even the scarcest trace that you were even still aboard."

"Lord Braxxus has orders for you and your squirmy little friend Mycan," She barked kicking him out of his chair, "You and Isolde are to search for the wretched child and report back here when she is located, nothing more, and nothing less. Scour the planet for the pure blood scum!' She directed; her heel implanted in Mycan's throat.

"Eclypse, come now lighten up a bit, we've landed which means you can go about being your miserable, lonely self and take your orders without a hitch." Isolde remarked daring to approach the angry warrior.

Eclypse unsheathed her sword, soundlessly in the blink of an eye and had it resting on Isolde's throat. "I am a trusted Captain of Lord Braxxus Isolde; don't make me remind you of what that means or how I got here in the first place." Eclypse snapped eyeing the Draconian woman. "Now get lost before I lose my temper, and we don't want that now do we?" She smirked while raising an eyebrow and releasing Mycan and Isolde as they bowed to her dominant status.

"No Captain," They said in unison and scurried away. The rest of the crew bowed to Eclypse as well as returned to their meals. She sheathed her sword and strode out of the galley to pursue her own mission.

"Eclypse may have gone too far on that one." One Tribek warrior whispered.

"Not if you want the wrath of Braxxus breathing down you neck Syren," Another Draconian warrior remarked. "If Eclypse thinks you're out of line, you might as well commit suicide if Braxxus hears of it."

"Why's that Zodiac?" Syren questioned.

"Because Braxxus will bring worse than death mate," Zodiac assured her friend.

"Why does Braxxus always give us the shitty jobs?" Mycan whined, "And how do we know it's not just Eclypse dumping her duties on us?"

"Because Dragon Braxxus has Eclypse doing something else, look at your scouter, she's moving too fast, too fast for something trivial like scoping out the area." Isolde growled as the figures of her scouter reading popped onto the monocle screen. "What the bloody hell was that?" She screeched coming to a halt, as she saw the enormous power level surge onto the screen momentarily.

"Nothing must have been a glitch, now come on." Mycan snarled as they continued their search.

Lord Braxxus stood on the bridge of the ship, staring out into the desolation of the desert. 'Come out; come out where ever you are Gabriella. I will find you, and when I do there will be hell to pay.' Dragon thought his fists clenched in rage, as was the norm when he came to a new planet to search.

He had not imagined it would take nearly eight months to locate the beacon of his own personal escape pod which Gabriella had stolen the last time she was in his custody. Lady Takuya had not been amused with the tardiness or the excuse that he had used the last time he had presented himself to her, and the memory of her harsh words still made him wince at the thought of her anger, and more importantly her threat to tell Queen Selene that a mere child had escaped his grasp.

"My lord, Eclypse wishes a word with you," Zodiac entered the bridge quietly breaking his train of thought with her sort nearly childish voice.

"Thank you Zodiac, she may enter," He spoke after a few more moments, "And Zodiac, it's Captain Eclypse, I hope I need not remind you again."

"No sire, you won't; I forgot my place for a moment, but I can assure you that it will not happen again." Zodiac apologized graciously, and left the room to let Eclypse in. "He will see you now Captain," She remarked obediently averting her eyes from the captain's gaze.

"Thank you Zodiac," She commented entering the bridge, "Lord Braxxus, I believe that I have located Prince Vegeta, and Gabriella. They are together I believe, but they are most definitely not alone." Eclypse announced in a deep bow.

"You've done well Eclypse, better than I could have ever hoped for in a woman of your talents. Now, leave me as I take the necessary precautions in devising an attack plan for you next mission. I want you to personally bring Gabriella to me. You have proven yourself time and again that you are the only one who can be trusted to properly execute a mission as important as this one." His yellow eyes gazed upon one of the last great Saiyan warriors.

"I understand my lord," She said turning to leave.

"Eclypse, one last thing, succeed as you should, and you shall be rightfully rewarded for your loyalties and you extraordinary work ethic and talent." He reminded her, stopping her dead in her tracks.

"You can always count on me my lord." She whispered and whisked away, locking herself in her cabin. She looked in the mirror, and saw the tear drop from her blue eye. she quickly brushed it away and sat in her bunk, knowing that Lord Braxxus meant she would finally be able to leave his army and start over again as the girl she was before she was hand chosen by him to serve under Lady Takuya and Queen Selene.

She was slightly skeptical however, because Braxxus had made an offer to her similar to this one nearly eight months ago, and that was how she had been promoted to Captain. She knew he had secret underlying reasons for keeping her in his army for so long but she was uncertain of what exactly they were, although she thought she might have some idea. 'No matter,' she thought, 'He is my commanding officer and I shall follow him to the end if need be, because that is my job.' She told herself knowing what this great honor had meant to her Father, 'Besides, I am Loyal to Braxxus and he would not betray me.'

Dragon Braxxus sat at his desk messaging his temples with his long green fingers. How on Earth was he going to be able to get Gabriella with out provoking the 'Might Prince Vegeta' and his new companions? More importantly, how was he going to be able to bring Eclypse back to him alive if she went alone and was attacked? He had confidence in her yes, but against two maybe three warriors that were her strength, he would not risk her life for Gabriella against two or more warriors he knew nothing about. He was cursed with these thoughts as if he had been infected with the black plague.

He knew the most logical way would be to try to kidnap the unsuspecting teenager when she was alone. The problem with this particular plan was that Gabriella knew what Eclypse looked like, but then again, not many enemies would forget the Saiyan warrior with one blue eye and one green eye.
