UNDERTALE

SANS

He immediately???? Falls on the floor???? He's dead guys, rest in peace.

No but for real, after his little panic, he whisks you off to the hospital so you can be prepared for the birth. He has no idea how these things work. Yeah, monsters give birth and everything, but he's never seen anything like that and his specialization in physics never dove in depth about pregnancy or anything akin to that. When you're both settled into a room, best believe he's whipping out his phone and searching up everything he can find. Even asks the nurse for books they have on pregnancy and birthing. He takes it very seriously.

Once he's scraped up all the info he can find (he's actually really fast and efficient about it tbh) he immediately takes you by the hands and promises that he won't leave you, not ever. You're both in this together until he's dusted and gone. When the baby arrives, he's so lovestruck. You've never seen him look at somebody with such adoration.

PAPYRUS

Isn't as oblivious as he seems. He knows exactly what to do, carrying you to the closest hospital (unless you're already at one) and getting things prepared. He's basically your rock through the entire process, and helps you stand firm on your positions on how you want to have the baby. He has no intentions to leave your side during this and tells you so, and he's so excited to be a dad, even if it's an accidental one. It's a happy accident, of course, he says in assurance. He can't wait to train the baby and teach them how to summon bones!

After the baby is born, he holds them for a long while and cries. He's a big ol' softie. He coos to the little one and promises to protect them forever.

UNDERFELL

SANS

His first question is if you want to keep the baby after they're born. He's freaking out, sure, but he's worried as hell about you. He's fine with having a family: Papyrus is so threatening nobody would touch them, and even if that fails nobody is gonna lay a finger on his child while he's around. He's being very assuring throughout the whole ordeal, and gives you little kisses and holds your hand through the contractions. He doesn't like to see you hurting, but he knows it's unavoidable. He's so sweaty that his entire head is covered in a pale pink sheen. He's not worried about being a bad father, he's had to raise Papyrus for most of his life. As long as he has you, he can do anything.

After the birth, he kinda stands awkwardly beside you as he looks at your kid. He reaches out to touch their cheek and they grab his hand, gargling out a coo. He immediately melts. You've never heard him speak so softly, his tone full of wonder as he says "Welcome ta th' world, lil' buddy."

PAPYRUS

He's a twisted sort of happy about it. You can almost see the gears turning in his head about what he's gonna do with the kid, which is worrying. When you both get to the hospital he keeps boasting about his new 'heir' to the faculty and patients you both pass, and frankly his ego is so inflated at this point you almost wanna smack him. However, when the baby is finally there…He stops. His facial expression goes soft as he holds them, as if they're a precious treasure. It's very emotional.

UNDERSWAP

SANS

Turns into a little flurry of activity after you both find out, sentences and words running together in glee. He's so, SO overjoyed. He loves you so much, and he knows he'll love this child just as much if not more. He can't wait til they're here and he continuously tells your stomach this as everything goes down. "HURRY SO DADDY CAN SEE YOU!"

When he finally has the baby in his arms, you'll never see him as still as he becomes. His little pupils are stars as he stares at your child. He hops on the bed with you and holds the child in front of you both, and without missing a beat he says "We made this."

You laugh so hard you pretty sure you pull something.

PAPYRUS

Oh boy. He's all action and no talk as you both get into a room to wait out the labor. His face is so unreadable, and everytime you hit a contraction he flinches and doesn't look at you. After a while he looks at you with the saddest expression and says he's sorry for ruining your life. He doesn't let you speak as he goes on about all your dreams and aspirations, and how a child is going to ruin all of that. He feels guilty as hell for putting you through this. You literally have to kiss him to shut him up, and after you tell him that you'll make it work and that you want to have this baby with him, because you love him and you know you'll love this baby, too. After that he's very supportive, holds your hand through the contractions, sometimes he rubs your stomach and murmurs soft promises.

When the baby is in his arms finally, he's quiet, and he just kinda looks from you to the child. When you ask him what's wrong, he just says that "You're both so beautiful," eve despite your messy and disheveled appearance.
