RAWR…ok, so this is my first Harry potter fic…I DO NOT own Harry potter, or Ron and Hermione would have gotten together by now….
Minerva McGonagall was almost asleep at her desk in transfiguration. This is so boring, she thought, why can't we do something interesting, like divination? When the bell rang out for the end of the class she went to talk to Myrtle. "Myrtle, what do you want to do on break? We could go in the library or maybe into the common room?" Myrtle sighed. "Min, I'm not really sure if the library is a good idea. Olivia's been teasing me again," she absently fingered her glasses. "Sometimes I wish we could set a ghost on her, she bugs me that much." Minerva thought for a while. "Well, I guess we could go to the common room, and see if we can think of a way to, um, make your glasses invisible, maybe?" They walked out into the corridor, past the girl's bathroom. "Hang on, I need to go to the bathroom. I'll meet you in the common room." Myrtle said. Minerva went on to the portrait of the Fat Lady, and walked inside.
A few hours later, the alarm sounded. Minerva had been reading a book, waiting for Myrtle to come back from the bathroom, but she never did. "A student has been found dead in the bathroom!" the head of Gryffindor shouted, using his wand to be heard over the many students discussing who it might be. "McGonagall, you'd better come with me." Confused Minerva followed him to his office, where he sat down with a sigh. "This is a nasty shock, but Myrtle was found dead in the girls bathroom. Do you know anything?" Minerva's jaw dropped. "Myrtle…dead?" she forgot the customary 'sir' "No, I was going to meet her in the Gryffindor common room, only she never came…dead?" Surely this was some sort of trick, or a test. Myrtle, her best friend, could not really be dead. He sighed. "Her parents will be coming tomorrow. We may have to close down the school for good." Minerva silently walked out of the office. She was stormed with questions from the other students, but kept on walking silently, until she reached the four-poster bed that was hers, and closed the curtains.
I think that explains a lot about why she let Harry and Ron visit Hermione, now doesn't it? I want everyone's opinions, because flames tickle.
