Synopsis: Anakin and Vaessa destroy an enemy ship.

Grievous in retreat!

Before the battleship Malevolence could destroy an Outer Rim clone medical base,

a Republic strike force under the command of Jedi General Anakin SkywaIker

crippled the warship, disabling its dreaded ion cannon.

Now, the Jedi relentlessly pursue the Malevolence.

Me, Obi-Wan and Master Plo stood on the bridge, discussing the Malevolence.

"Commander, what is the damage level to the enemy ship?" Obi-Wan asked, addressing one of the Resolute's commanders.

"She's lost her primary shields and stabilizers, but the ship is so massive, it can take all the fire our cannons can give it," the commander replied.

"We must summon reinforcements," Master Plo said.

"That's why I'm here, Master Plo," Anakin said, coming into the bridge beside Ahsoka.

"Anakin. Were you able to contact Master Luminara?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Yes, Master. She's busy with a fleet of Separatist reinforcements nearby. She won't be able to give us support until she's turned them away."

"Then we'll have to make do with what we have," Obi-Wan replied.

Me and Ahsoka began to inspect the scanners for incoming reinforcements.

"Admiral, status report," Obi-Wan asked Admiral Yularen.

"They're not attempting to jump to hyperspace. Their hyperdrive must be damaged."

"This is our chance," Obi-Wan informed us. "All ships target the bridge. Maximum firepower!"

"Uh... Vaer?" Ahsoka asked.

I ran over to her scanner. "What's up, Soka?"

"I'm picking up a ship near the enemy vessel," she replied. "I've never seen a ship like that."

"That looks like a... Naboo ship?"

"Are they separatists?" Ahsoka asked.

"No, the Senator of Naboo is a very important Galactic..." I trailed off. "Oh, force."

"What's wrong?" Ahsoka asked.

"Master, we have an issue!" I called.

"What's wrong, Vaessa?" Obi-Wan asked.

"There's a Naboo ship near the Malevolence," I explained. "And, judging by the way it moves, Senator Amidala is piloting."

"What?" Anakin asked, horrified.

I moved out of the way of him running to the scanners. "Oh, force..." he muttered. "Ahsoka, contact that ship!"

"Naboo cruiser, identify yourself," Ahsoka ordered.

"This is Senator Amidala," the Senator's voice came from the transmitter.

"Padme, what are you doing out here?" Anakin asked worriedly.

"I was sent on a special mission," the Senator replied. "The Senate was told the Banking Clan wanted to negotiate a treaty!"

The Senate was told? I didn't think any separatist would tell the entire senate if they wanted to negotiate a treaty, which I don't think they would do. Particularly the Banking Clan.

"Get out of there as fast as you can!" Anakin cried.

The Senator's ship suddenly shook. "Have we been hit?" A droid's voice asked.

"I'm afraid it's much worse than that," the Senator replied.

"Padme, what's happening?" Anakin asked frantically.

"I'm being pulled inside the droid cruiser by a tractor beam," she replied. "I will not be made a Separatist bargaining chip. Continue your attack! You must destroy this monstrous ship!" The hologram shut off.

Anakin frowned sadly. "Admiral, order our ships to stop firing."

Ahsoka looked at her master worriedly. I wasn't exactly happy about this situation, either.

Anakin turned to leave. "Where do you think you're going?" my master asked.

"Somebody has to save her skin."

"At least take me or Vaessa with you," Obi-Wan sighed.

"What?" I asked. This was not in my plans for today.

"Fine. Vaessa, then."

Obi-Wan looked at me expectantly. I sighed and ran after his former padawan.

I climbed onto the ship where Anakin was already sitting in the pilot seat. "Do you have a plan, or are we just going to fly into the Malevolence without any thought of the consequences?"

"Course I do. Have I ever not?"

"Wouldn't put it past you," I muttered, sitting in the co-pilot seat. "And what about a plan B?"

"Careful, you're starting to sound like Obi-Wan."

"He is my master," I replied.

"He was once my master and I'm not really like him," Anakin countered.

"Anakin, do you have a plan B or not?"

"Not yet."

"Of course."

"I said yet."

"Yeah, and when it comes to you, that means something."

"Of course it does!"

"Anakin, just take off."

"Fine!" The ship began to ascend out of the hangar.

"So, what's our plan?" I asked.

"The enemy's sensors are obviously damaged, so we'll sneak in behind them and dock at the emergency airlock," Anakin explained.

We were silent for a second. "Anakin, I thought you said your plan wasn't just flying into the Malevolence without any thought of the consequences?"

"It's not! I have a reason!"

"Yeah, a reason for flying in to a deadly separatist ship without a proper plan!"

"You have a better idea?"

"I would if you'd told me yours earlier!"

We landed in the hangar. "Anakin, you are crazy."

"Matter of opinion."

"Not spinning while trying not to attract attention is not a matter of opinion. We don't want to be spotted." I turned around to see a pair of droids.

"I knew it! It's them!" the first one shrieked.

"Oh, no," the second said miserably.

We ignited our lightsabers and cut the droids down.

"You stay here, R2," Anakin instructed his astromech. R2 beeped in reply. Anakin and me ran down the metal corridors of the Malevolence.

His comlink started beeping. He received the transmission. "Yes?" he asked.

"Master, we've found the Senator," Ahsoka's voice announced. "I'm patching her through."

"Padme!" Anakin cried.

"Anakin!" Senator Amidala's voice said in reply.

"Are you all right? Where are you?" he asked desperately.

"On the lower levels," Senator Amidala replied. "I'm fine, but I don't know for how long. Droids are everywhere."

"Vaessa and I are onboard, too," he told her.

"What? What are you doing here?" she asked.

"We came to get you off this ship," he explained shortly. "Ahsoka, how can we get to the Senator?"

"According to our scans, there seems to be a large open area in the centre of the ship. It should be halfway between you and her," Ahsoka answered.

"We're on our way," Anakin replied. "Did you hear that, Padme?"

"I'll be there," the Senator replied.

Me and Anakin arrived at the centre of the ship. "I don't see her, Anakin."

"She's here, kid," he replied. "I sense it."

"Don't call me that."

"Fi - there!" I looked in the direction of his finger, and saw Senator Amidala and a gold protocol droid being shot at by battle droids.

We ignited our lightsabers and jumped to a nearby cargo railway. A pair of droids shot at us, which we deflected to them. The senator pushed the droid of the ledge of the beam they were on. It landed in a cargo box. The Senator, meanwhile, jumped after him a little more graciously and landed on a train.

"Padme!" Anakin yelled, and jumped after her. Oh, great. As I watched, a droid blew up the railway in front of her. She jumped to Anakin, who caught her just as they went under a tunnel. Excellent. "I'll get the droid!" I called, and ran after the protocol droid.

I jumped onto a train just above the droid's and used the force to summon it. Unfortunately another cargo train smashed into it mid-flight. Said train went into a tunnel in the walls. "That can't be good," I muttered, and decided to call Anakin.

"Anakin, your droid got itself lost," I told him.

"3P0!" the Senator cried.

"Ugh, I'll take care of it. We'll meet you back at The Twilight," Anakin answered.

"No! We can't leave yet. I overheard Grievous. Their hyperdrive is almost repaired," the Senator informed us.

"I'm already headed in that direction," I reassured her. "I'll make sure that the hyperdrive stays offline."

I located the hyperdrive and was about to take down the droids manning it when the lights flicked on and many droids came into the room. a heard a mechanic laughing behind me and turned around to see a really odd battle droid.

"Hello there," it said.

"I'm guessing you're General Grievous?" I asked.

"And you are?"

"Commander Vaessa Orin," I replied. "Pleasure."

"Did you really think I would leave the hyperdrive unguarded?" It asked.

"You seem dumb enough," I answered.

"Kill her," it growled.

The droids pointed their blasters at me. I jumped up, landing in between ranks of droidekas. I used the force to roll one into the ranks of type two battle droids, knocking them out. I kept behind the remaining droideka, protected by its shield.

"You use Kenobi's style in your plans," the general commented. "That makes you predictable."

I rolled the final droid towards it, and ran off, deflecting blaster shots as I went. My comlink beeped. "Vaessa!" Anakin's voice shouted.

"Grievous is on to us," I informed him.

"Yeah, we noticed," Anakin replied.

"We'll meet back at the Twilight. The fleet must engage the -" my comlink shut off. Wonderful.

I ran until I reached an opening into a rail jet. I jumped onto one of the cargos, Grievous behind me. It jumped along the rails, slashing down cargo as it went. I jumped up onto a hook, using it to get behind Grievous, where I ignited my lightsaber. We began to fight.

I was losing severely. At the last second before it disarmed me, I jumped away and ran to the Twilight. Anakin and the Senator followed not long after. We left the Malevolence and headed for the Resolute.

"Time for some of your tricks, Anakin," I teased as vulture droids tailed us.

"That's what I would say," he replied, grinning.

Anakin flew as me and the senator manned the guns. "Excuse me, sir, but R2's scan of the ship indicates the hyperdrive is activating," the protocol droid said.

"Don't worry about it," Anakin advised.

"Why not?" I asked. He didn't answer.

As we watched, the malevolence crashed into the moon. "Did you have something to do with that?" I asked.

He laughed. "All part of the plan, Vaer."
