Chapter 17: The Fire of the Dragon

Viv…you need to wake up…

Six stayed with Vivian as she lay there unconscious. Three paced about the vault until he couldn't anymore. The air was thinning, they weren't able to buy any time. Four was asleep, in his own Zen phase.

"How can he rest in a time like this?" Three questioned. Crates, anything he tried to pry them open.

"Conserving energy. We only have so much air left," Six replied, looking down at Vivian. "This girl gotten into deep shit."

Three growled, looking away from her appearance. Bruises everywhere. At least she's breathing, he thought.

"What happened to Two hit you hard huh?" Six asked. Three paced.

"Just caught me off guard," Three breathed. He glanced at Vivian. Six glanced down at her.

"And her?"

"I don't know man," Three exhaled.

"I know you were close to both. More so…her I guess," Six motioned. Three shook his head.

"Look…even if we were something," Three explained. "Which we don't-"

"Uh huh," Six agreed not believing him.

"Never mind," Three growled pacing back and forth. "We must've lost people in the past right? Before all this memory business. I assume it never got in our way before right?"

"Maybe we are different this time around," Six mentioned. Three nodded then stared at Vivian before looking away.

"Maybe…but I'm still gonna kill 'em," Three growled.

Suddenly the door swung open, forcing One to stumble back into the vault. Four was instantly on his feet, grabbing One. However, the door closed right after he stumbled in. One knelt alongside Four trying to regain his composure. Face bloodied from the questioning.

"Where's Five?" Six asked. One shook his head.

"She's with them," One replied simply. He looked at Vivian swallowing hard.

"What happened to her?"

"Protecting the kid," Three informed.

"Well I hate to break it to you, but they might come-"

Whoosh, the door opened again. Cain readies himself with his pistol pointing it at them. He motions to Vivian.

"Well, well, looks like Vons really got her good," he grinned, walking over to her. "The boss wants some…one on one time."

Six pulled her away from Cain, but he aimed his pistol in his face.

"Ah ah, unless you want one between the eyes," Cain smirked. Vivian's eyes fluttered open, she couldn't focus. She just moaned.

"Viv-" Three started about to go towards her, but Cain pointed his gun at him too.

"Three?" Vivian asked but her eyes closed as Cain grabbed her, throwing her over his shoulder.

"I swear to God I'll-" Three started.

"Three," One breathed.

"What are you going to do with her?" Four questioned. Cain grinned evilly as he started closing the door.

"Oh don't worry, we'll take good care of her," he smirked. The door closed shut with a loud thud. Everyone looked at One. He shook his head.

"What would they want with her?"

"What else?" One asked. "They know who she is…and they're going to collect."

"And if they don't?" Four asked.

"Then…we have another captain lost in space," One breathed.

Everyone's eyes widened.

SLAM! Three slams into the crates. "SHIT!"

Halvor…Halvor! Wake UP! Vivian's eyes jolt awake. She looks up, realizing she's in the mess hall. Her arms move, but her hands won't budge. She looks down seeing her hands tied tightly against the metal frame. Shit…She jumps at the sight of Wexler standing in the corner.

"Good evening sweetheart," Wexler greeted. She looks up as he smirks at her, walking up to a chair across from her. "I would say make yourself comfortable but I see that you already are."

He reaches out his hand, lifting it under her chin.

"You know you have some nerve…guts even," Wexler began, his hand trailing down her neck. "And to think that you could be of some use to us. In more ways than one I'm sure."

He reaches it towards her mouth but she literally bites at him. He retracts his hand and smiles amused. SLAP! Vivian's head falls to the side.

"You know, you and your dog seem to have this feistiness in common," Wexler growled. "You give it to me. I'm going to bite back."

"Now…I need you to pay close attention to what I want you to do," Wexler explained. Vivian glared at Cain and Wexler equally.

"Where is he?" Vivian growled.

"It's not important," Wexler smirked.

"Where?" Vivian spat.

"I need you to focus Halvor," Wexler put up his hands. "Now-"

"You better hope that he is still here on this ship," Vivian threatened.

"Or what?" Cain asked.

"You spaced my captain and now my own…you're dead," Vivian growled. "I'll make it slow."

"As flattered as I am, I don't think you understand how this works," Wexler mentioned, motioning to Cain.

He grabs her jaw, forcing her to look at Cain. He pulls up Bruce's collar making her eyes go wide. Vivian swallowed hard.

"I have the upper hand. And you will do as I say," Wexler demanded quietly. "Or you can join your precious guardian angel."

Vivian's eyes started watering, looking away, her mouth turning to a snarl.

"You fucking son of a bitch," she growled.

"You're not so innocent yourself sweetheart," Wexler beckoned.

"I'm going to kill you," Vivian whispered, glaring at him.

The intercom rang, causing Wexler to look up.

"We got him online," Von announced.

"Good. We'll be right over," Wexler grinned. He motioned to Cain who put a pistol to her head as they untied her feet.

"Don't do anything stupid," Cain growled threateningly. "Or I'll space you like I did that mutt."

He grabbed her, dragging her out of the mess. Her eyes were watery, but there was boiling inside of her.

Vivian got pushed out into the hallway with Wexler in front and Cain behind her. They headed towards the bridge where she saw Five, Tash, and Vons stood.

"What do you want with me?" Vivian growled.

"Viv!" Five greeted desperately. Vivian almost side stepped to be near her but immediately got pulled aside. "Don't hurt her!"

"Oh we'll do whatever we want kid," Cain smirked.

"I want you to say hi to dear old Daddy," Wexler smirked, going up to the transmission console. Erik Halvor and her bodyguard Corey appeared on screen. Vivian tensed, her body bruised, her features disheveled. Erik's eyes became cold at the new recruits.

"Captain Halvor, pleasure to meet the legend," Wexler smirked, taking the toothpick out of his mouth. "I'm sorry we couldn't be acquainted on better terms."

"Jesus Christ," Corey uttered on screen. "Vivian…"

Erik's hand raised to keep Corey silent as his eyes remained wide at her appearance. Vivian shook her head, bowing.

"We came to negotiate for the safety of your daughter, Miss Vivian Elizabeth Halvor," Wexler smirked.

Erik's eyes rested coolly on Wexler.

"Did you do this to her?" Erik asked. Wexler flinched at his stare.

"I'm sorry sir but she was being a little…reckless," Wexler smirked. "Too many falls you know."

"Where's the crew of the Raza?"

"Preoccupied I'm afraid," Wexler answered quickly. Erik smirked.

"Seems like you're a busy man, Mr.-?" Erik asked.

"Wexler," Wexler replied.

"So what's the price of your…intrusion, hm? Coming aboard the Raza is no easy feet."

"No sir, that's why I wanted to make you a deal."

"Oh?"

"One trillion credits for your daughter to come safely home," Wexler smirked.

"Is that so?" Erik asked. His grip tightening on a cutlass on his side.

"I…wouldn't do that if I were you," Five warned. Wexler brushed her aside.

"And if I don't?"

"We can't promise her safety. One already died today," Cain mentioned, his gun still pointed at her, revealing the collar.

Erik smirked, laughing causing them to all shake and look at each other with uncertainty.

"I'm sorry…My pearl already has an assignment," Erik smirked. "So not for sale."

"But-"

"Let me tell you something while you're still breathing, rookie," Erik growled. "You stroll into my connection, threaten my daughter, kill her dog, and you expect to get out of this clean?"

He looks at Vivian whose head remains bowed.

"My pearl," he purred. Everyone shivered and they all looked at her. "You have permission to rid of these lowlifes. At…any cost."

She kept her head down, tears flowing from her face. Shaking. Five could see her composure breaking.

"Sorry to disappoint Wexler," Erik replied coolly. "However, you should know better with our family. I would wish you luck, but…I don't think it would come to scum like you."

"END OF TRANSMISSION" blinked on the monitor.

"Shit," Wexler growled. Vivian kicked Cain in the knee, causing him to growl and she leapt forward, strangling Wexler with her binds. She put him out in front as the others aimed their guns at her.

"Vivian!" Five yelped. She was glaring at them.

"Put him down," Vons commanded.

"Not a chance," Vivian bit harshly.

Vivian…easy…James' voice echoed through her head. She growled at him.

"Stand down!" Vons demanded again.

"Let me go," Wexler breathed.

"I will let them kill you before they even get to me," Vivian growled. Cain pointed the gun at Five.

"What about her?" he asked. Five gasped. "Count to five...5…4…"

"Vivian don't listen to him he's just trying to-"

The gun cocks, and Cain stands by. Vivian's grip tightens on Wexler, eyes on Five.

"I swear to God if you hurt her-"

"3…2…"

Vivian's eyes closed. She loosens her grip on Wexler who starts coughing uncontrollably onto the floor in front of her. She kicks him hard making him groan. Tash kicks her in the gut.

"No!" Five screamed.

"Shut it!" Cain growls at her. Five watches Vivian desperately as Vons catches her as she tries to catch her breath. Tears down her face.

"Lock her up!" Cain growls, grabbing Wexler to his feet.

"That fucking bitch," Wexler whispered from the others to hear. Vivian gets dragged down the hall. "Keep her away from the others! I want that bitch alone."

Cain nods and follows as they attempt to isolate her. Vivian was dragged down the ship, shoved into a storage unit with the locks closed tight. She growled then started screaming at them, punching, kicking everything. She lost her captain, her dog, and could lose everyone. But a fire burned in her stomach.

"You'll regret it…"

Five was being escorted by Tash after an unfortunate incident with them going out of the ship. Vons didn't make it due to some malfunctioning space suit. Tash was having none of it. SLAP! Five was hit across the face, hard. That's when it happened.

Two tackled Tash to the ground, grappled her in a brawl.

"You're supposed to be dead?!" Tash growled in surprise.

"Sorry to disappoint," Two growled back. They brawled, fists flying, bodies tumbling. Finally, Two took the upper hand, snapping the woman's neck. She fell hard, lifeless. Five was breathing in surprise at her supposed dead captain.

She rushed up to her hugging her tightly.

"I thought you were dead?!" Five breathed in relief.

"Yeah so was I," Two shuddered. Her body was shaking from adrenaline.

"Where are the others?"

"In the vault, Wexler changed the code," Five replied anxiously.

"I'll get the code," Two assured, grabbing Tash's pistol.

THUNK! THUNK! THUNK!

Vivian kicked hard against the doors with no luck. Her energy was being spent. She finally sat down, hands into fists as she leaned forward onto her knees. There was no way out. She ducked her head into her knees. Tears forming from her face.

"You going to give up so easily?"

Vivian froze looking up from her place. James was standing in the corner of the room, hovering over her. She looked away.

"You need to fight. Or you're going to die here."

Vivian shook her head.

"I'm not like you…" she whispered putting her head back in her knees closing her eyes. James smiled, kneeling down to her level on one knee.

"No, you're not," James smiled, looking straight at her. "You're better…"

Vivian's eyes opened, then slowly looked at her brother. She swallowed hard.

"You have so much more to live for than I ever did," James beckoned.

"Like what?" Vivian scoffed.

"Don't play games with yourself Viv," James remarked sternly. "I know who you're trying to protect. And maybe they are worth protecting."

Vivian looked at the door.

"Make those fools face the consequences of what they've done," James beckoned his voice run cold. "No one lays a hand on us this way."

She closed her eyes.

"You are Captain Vivian Elizabeth Halvor," James growled. "The fire of the dragon is coming."

Vivian opened her eyes and jumped seeing James gone. She took a staggered breath.

When they open that door…she'll be waiting.

"Guys!" Two yelled as she banged on the door of the vault. Five scrambled on the computer, typing in the original password. Nothing. It was locked shut, unmoving.

"It's sealed tight. I don't know how much longer they can stay in there," Five stated worriedly.

"We'll get that code. In the meantime, you go into the vents and you find a safe place to hide you understand me?" Two ordered. "No objections."

Five nodded as they separated from the cargo bay. Five scrambled into a nearby vent as Two breech and cleared throughout the ship as she made her way towards the bridge.

Cain slowly made his way down the hall, working towards the lifeless body of Tash. He checked her pulse. Nothing. He shook his head cursing under his breath.

"You're not gonna believe this. But Tash is dead," Cain announced on his coms. Wexler was furious.

"What? Where's the little girl?"

"I don't know," Cain answered.

"Are you sure you locked up our pirate captain?" Wexler growled.

"Yes air tight."

"Well check again!"

Five crawled through the vents, then looked down. She saw Vivian, tied and sitting patiently eyes closed towards the door. She was about to drop down, but Vivian immediately sprang up from her place hiding behind the wall alongside the door. The door was whining before making an opening sound.

Cain walked in, pistol out in the ready. He slowly creeped in.

"I know you're in here," Cain sang. But as he turned she kicked him hard in the gut, and slammed her fists between his shoulders winding him making him grunt in pain. She kicked him one more hard one more time before running out of the room, her hands tied in front of her. Cain growled punching the ground under him.

"Damn it!" Cain growled grabbing turning on his coms. "She's out."

"What?!"

Cain got up slowly, his adrenaline pumping.

"That bitch is getting spaced," he snarled. Five gasped under her hand, keeping herself low.

"I want you to find those girls and get rid of them. Right between the eyes you understand me?!" Wexler yelled under the coms.

"With pleasure," Cain scoffed, getting up and leaving the room. Five snuck away further and further into the vents. She needed to be armed. Anything would do. These men would stop nothing for the taking over of the ship.

There was a sudden rumble within the ship. Almost like thunder. Someone was boarding. Vivian quietly made her way into her room. She cut herself lose. Her gear…it wasn't here. Shit. Loud heavy footsteps came blasting down the corridors. She looked and grabbed anything. She grabbed her throwing knives and her rope. She grabbed an extra dagger from her nightstand. She put up her face scarf and her hood. She peeked out. A few heavily armed men were approaching her quarters.

In the vault, Three backed up from the door confused as the rest of them scattered within the crate filled room. Air was running thin. Their heads becoming more and more light-headed from the lack of air.

"This is ridiculous, we need to think of something while our heads are still in tact," One remarked eagerly. No one answered. "Let's not all jump at once. Aren't we supposed to be good at this kind of thing?"

"Some of us are," Three breathed. The air was thin, it was hard to think. But One wasn't having it. He stood up, even breathless and looked around the room.

"I'm in this as much as any of you," One defended anxiously.

"Not really," Four objected. "Authorities will find out you're not Jace Corso. They'll let you go. Us on the other hand…we're criminals."

"You should just get down. You have a lot more to lose than us," Six agreed.

"What? You want to think I'm going to leave any of you behind?" One asked in surprise. His crew, his own crew he would just leave…This wasn't happening. "We are past the point of every man for himself. And if we're gonna go down fighting then we are doing it together."

Vivian snuck out of her room, dagger at the ready as she leaned up against the wall. Two men were armed to the teeth. She watched as they passed them. She took a breath and grabbed one of her throwing knives. 1…2…3…

Swoosh! The dagger went into one of their legs. He yelped in surprise at the sudden pain in his leg.

"What happened?!" his partner asked as the other screamed. They looked seeing the dagger. "Shit!"

Swoosh! Another hit his uncovered arm and he tightened his grip onto his gun only with one hand. He screamed. Vivian came out behind the one still standing, rope around his neck, gripping it with one hand. The man was suffocating as the other readied his weapon from the floor.

"HEY!" he growled. She used the other man as a shield. The partner panicking as he tried to aim for her. The man being strangled tried to headbutt her. She dodged, but let go, grabbing his pistol as he turned around.

BANG! Guy on the floor dead. Two looked up at the sound confused. Weren't all of them locked in the vault?

Vivian kicked the man's arm, disarming the rifle. She aimed his own pistol at him. He put up his hands but was looking towards his partner's weapon. He bent down fast but she then grabbed her dagger as he turned she kicked him to the floor.

BANG! BANG!

More were coming. She had to move fast.

One paced throughout the vault as the crew sat there.

"We have our differences but that's not important now. Androids down, Two is dead. And…Five's out there…helpless," One informed. "Who knows what happens to Viv. It's up to us! We need to do this! And we take them down hard!"

"Yeah," Three agreed, his eyes determined.

"We show them what the men of the Raza are MADE OF!" One yelled.

Swoosh! Into the neck of another guard a throwing knife stuck out. His fingers causing firing of bullets in the air. The other guards next to him looking around frantically. Vivian fired more of the spare pistol. BANG! One down. BANG! BANG! Two down. They were on the floor scrambling from it hitting their bullet proof armor. She walked up to them, one shot in the face. Another got up, she stomped on him, getting behind him and slitting his throat.

A further set of bangs were heard down the corridors. Who could possibly be with her? Was it Five? Or Cain…More footsteps were heard heading towards the cargo bay. She avoided them. These people were useless. She needed Wexler.

"We may not have been able to help Two. But we can make the bastards pay!" One encouraged, his breath becoming shallow. "And get Five and Halvor back safe."

"Damn straight!" Three yelled, standing up from his crate. Immediately he swayed and fell back into his sat on the crate. One stumbled as well and Six forced him to sit down next to Three who patted One on the back.

"Good speech though," Six laughed with the others. "Hypoxia talking, I think."

"Didn't think you had it in you. But you and I have the same idea. Revenge," Three breathed. "For what they did to Two…to…"

He shook his head.

"You really like her don't you?" One asked him.

"Me?" Three shook his head. "Come on…she's a pirate captain what does she need with me. You're missing my point. You ever hate someone so much you wanted to kill them?"

"Oh you'd be surprised," One said.

"huh…" Three agreed with amusement. They sat there, catching whatever breath they had left. It was only a matter of time now. Only thing they could hope for…was the girls were safe. And they'll live to see it.

Vivian walked quietly amongst the hallways before she saw heard the voice of her real victim.

"I heard gunfire! What the hell is going on?" Wexler asked. She turned the corner and saw him standing there, unarmed.

"Men down!" the voice echoed in his ear.

"Shit…" he cursed as he made his way back to the bridge. Vivian peeked around. She knew where he was going to be. She found her way to the bridge unnoticed. She heard more shots. Maybe more coming. But it was too quiet to notice more boots on the ground. But someone was coming. She prayed Five was still alive. She passed the mess hall seeing her gear placed on the table. Quietly, she snuck into the mess, grabbing her cutlass, her original dagger and tossed the guard's pistol, grabbing her own. She spun the cutlass in her hands before making her way out of the mess.

Her walk was determined, her pace quickening as she made it towards the bridge. That's when she saw Wexler pacing.

"Cain? Where are you?" he questioned, his voice hiding the panic. "God damn it answer me! Anyone!"

When he turned, her pistol was in his face. He froze seeing her covered up face.

"The hell are you doing here?" Wexler breathed. She lowered her gun, shoving him into a nearby console. "Where the hell is Cain?"

"I'm sorry to say I'm not responsible for that," Vivian replied coolly.

She grabbed him by the collar, forcing her cutlass at his throat.

"Whoa whoa whoa! Easy sweetheart," Wexler breathed.

"Give me one good reason to keep you alive," Vivian growled. His fear suddenly faded to a smirk.

"Oh…I'm sorry. Did we forget about our men in the vault?" Wexler asked. "Or you would want to watch them suffocate?"

Vivian's eyes narrowed at him as he tried to touch her hand that gripped her weapon.

"Now why don't you be a good little girl and behave," Wexler asked. "Drop your weapon."

"Wexler. What's going on there?" a voice chimed on the intercom. "My men aren't responding."

"We're just having a situation," Wexler replied, turning his back on her. She took down her hood and her face mask, her grip onto her cutlass. She sheathed it, grabbing the dagger from her boot. "But don't worry I can handle it. It's just some issues with the crew of the Raza that's all."

"You're supposed to have them locked down."

"I know!"

Vivian's arm wrapped around his shoulders, dagger across his throat. Wexler froze, turning his head. She glared at him.

"You have some nerve you know that?" Wexler smirked. "Just because a dagger is at my throat does not mean your friends would be saved."

"You sure about that?" Two asked. Vivian froze. Was her mind playing tricks on her again. Before she could react, Wexler elbowed her shoving her off. She was about to lunge, but Five grabbed her.

"Viv!" She cried. Vivian snapped out of it, looking at Five. Then her eyes went to Two. Her heart dropped.

"Sorry Halvor. We need him alive," Two gritted her teeth. Vivian stood there speechless.

"That's impossible. You're supposed to be dead," Wexler breathed in disbelief.

"You messed that up," Two growled. Her rifle pointed at him.

"Wexler who is that?" the man chimed.

"This is Portia Lin. And we've taken our ship back," Two announced. "If you want anything, you're going to have to go through us to get it."

END OF TRANSMISSION beep appeared. Five walked over to the console.

"Looks like the ships jumped into FTL. No more fighting for them," Five announced.

"Shit…" Wexler cursed. Vivian's fists were tightening.

"Well now we're all alone," Two mocked.

"You're gonna let me go," Wexler defended smoothly. "I'm going to get dropped off, and radio you the code. Because your friends won't survive without it."

"Like hell," Vivian breathed, grabbing him, putting him in front of her, the dagger back at his throat.

"Viv stop!" Five yelped. Vivian tightened her grip on Wexler, the dagger cold and menacing towards his throat.

"Halvor," Two stated smoothly. Vivian's eyes were tearing up, her jaw twisting. Two looks at Wexler. "Well now…looks like you made the wrong kind of enemy Wexler."

"She needs to let me go if your friends survive."

"Or I can pry that code out of you. Slowly…" Vivian bit, grabbing his bad arm, twisting it behind his back.

"Halvor!" Two growled.

"You killed the only thing I had left," Vivian growled. "And now you face the fire of the dragon."

Her dagger pressed firmly onto his throat. Two growled.

"Halvor!" Two demanded. "We need that code. Or the others will die."

Vivian stood there, her hands shaking. Her eyes glared and then looked at Two. Two looked at her coolly.

"Besides…I got a better idea," Two smirked. "Just give him to me."

Wexler glanced between her and Two. Vivian hesitated. Two walked up to them, eyes still on Vivian.

"You can trust me," she whispered. Vivian's eyes softened as Two nodded. To her restrain, Vivian let go.

As soon as she let go, Two grabbed a hold of Wexler pulling him towards her.

"I need you two at the vault. Now," Two ordered. Five looked at Vivian who just stood there looking down at the ground. All that hate, all that energy just…sat in her. Two dragged Wexler out of the room.

"You're lucky I didn't let her kill you there," Two spat.

Vivian stayed in the cargo bay as Five went to get a device from her room. They needed to crack the computer. Something to get it open. She leaned against the vault door, keeping her back against the doors. Her head was bowed, praying. Give them enough air…Five walked in with a small handheld device, plugging it into the monitor, wires sticking out.

"Let's do this," Five breathed. Vivian could hear Two on her coms as she locked Wexler into a nearby airlock. The same one that Two was given.

"If you give me the code I will let you out," Two chimed. Vivian's throat hardened, her hands into fists. The bastard will live? Maybe he's better with a slower death. There was a long silence on their end. Vivian watched Five frantically typing. Finally, Wexler gave in spewing a variety of numbers and letters.

"It was my number in prison," he stated slyly. Five's fingers typed it out quickly.

"You got that?" Two asked. The hum of the doors emerged. Vivian pulled back as the "ACCESS GRANTED" flickered on the monitor.

"Got it! The door is opening," Five announced proudly. She walked in with Vivian stepping away. Three of them except for One was all ready to fight with random things from the vault.

"We're ready!" Three announced, his breath shallow. "We're ready where are they?"

"It's okay we took care of them," Five explained. "They're a little woozy but I think they're gonna be okay."

Vivian's jaw twisted.

"Halvor…" Two's voice chimed over the coms.

"Yes Captain," Vivian replied strained.

"Were those bruises from them?" Two asked. She stared Wexler down and he swallowed.

"Hey you said you were gonna let me out. We had a deal," Wexler growled.

"Yes ma'am," Vivian's voice agreed.

"Anything else?" Two chimed. Vivian's heart was in her throat as the rest of the crew filed out of the vault with Five's help.

"Halvor."

"They tranquilized my dog. And sent him out into space," Vivian bit. Two glared at Wexler.

"You would do that?" she asked.

"It was a mistake, all right? Now let me out of here!" Wexler growled.

"A mistake that you should never had made," Vivian growled.

"What do you want me to do with him?" Two asked. "Captain to Captain."

"It's your ship. Your choice," Vivian breathed.

"HEY! I was not like you remember!" Wexler yelled on her coms. Vivian heard the airlock on Two's coms. Five settled the others down. They all stared at Vivian whose hands were shaking. Five kept an eye on her as she handed over bottles of water to the crew so they could recover. The others were woozy, they couldn't really pay attention.

"We're done here," Two announced. "I'm going to reboot the Android and get us out of here."

"Right…everyone's out we're just recovering," Five informed. Vivian's eyes scrolled along her new crew. Her hands balled into fists. Five watched her cautiously.

"Viv?" she asked in concern.

"Halvor," Two added. "You okay?"

SLAM! The noise echoed throughout the cargo bay causing everyone to jump. Everyone's eyes were on her. Vivian's fist was on the cargo. She got up, hands shaking. She couldn't save any of them. Her eyes were watering. Five walked up to her.

"Hey…" she greeted. Vivian looked away from her.

"Worry about the others," Vivian bit back. Five swallowed. Vivian ripped the coms out of her ear, tossing it across the cargo bay. It clanged out of sight.

"Hey…what are you doing?!" Five yelped. Vivian is about to leave but Five rushed over to grab her arm. Five suddenly felt her wrist grabbed and tight. She without thinking shoved Five hard back towards the crew who looked at her in shock. Five breathed, staring at Vivian more with worry then shock.

"Hey!" Six barked. Vivian looked at him…shaken.

"Don't follow me," Vivian whispered. Five watched her as she turned around.

"Viv! What is wrong-?" Five asked. The reached out again, but this time was faced with Vivian's cutlass. That made Five jump back in surprise. Three's eyes widened even at a woozy state.

"Hey, hey, hey!" He yelled at her. "Take it easy…"

He tried to get up but immediately fell back down to the crate.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" One yelled. Six grabbed Five and pulled her towards him weakly. Vivian swallowed, looking down at her cutlass, shaking. She dropped it, causing a CLANG against the ground. Five swallowed as Vivian turned.

"I'm sorry…"

She almost ran out of the cargo bay leaving the others baffled.

"What the hell was that?" Six asked.

"Guys what happened?" Two chimed.

"We don't know…" One replied. "All I know is that Halvor isn't doing well…"

Vivian's blood was boiling. Her emotions are running wild. Vivian marched down the corridors towards the training room. How could she do that to Five? What was wrong with her. The punching bag was the next thing that was hit. Over and over and over again. She threw off her jacket, her face scarf and revealed all her bruises, scrapes and injuries. She was broken…and for what? Her voice yelled out in frustration. Wexler's face kept appearing in her head. Then Cain's. Time felt like an eternity.

She growled as she was about to swing again until she felt a hand grip onto her arm. Pulling her back. Her eyes darted with hate and landed on Two.

Vivian turned and shoved her off.

"Hey!" Two protested and saw that Vivian was willing to fight her off.

"Get away from me…" Vivian breathed.

"Halvor," Two began. "I need you to breathe."

"Says the dead woman," Vivian bit back. She punched the bag again.

"This dead woman needs you to be at med bay," Two ordered. She grabbed Vivian who shoved her again. Two growled, adrenaline rushing. She grabbed Vivian pinning her to the wall. Vivian hissed at the impact, eyes closing at the pain. Then glaring at her.

"Will you stop and listen to me!" Two ordered. "What the hell-"

Two forced her to look directly into her eyes. Her eyes softened. Vivian's tears were coming out, her body shaking. Two's grip softened and Vivian almost fell onto her. She grabbed her before she fell to the ground. Vivian fell to her knees.

"They killed him…and they almost got to all of you too…" Vivian whispered, choking on her words. "You're supposed to be dead…"

Two grabbed her, gripping onto her and pulling her close. She noticed the bruises, the blood, everything. Android appeared at the door frame.

"Android. I need you to escort Halvor to the med-bay. Now," Two ordered frantically.

They dragged Vivian to the med bay as she wept, sore and feeling broken.

The rest of the Raza crew recovered surprisingly well once the air came back to their lungs. Android helped Vivian to her room after she was all patched up. Took almost an hour of examinations, cleaning wounds and examining bruises. She was given relief for her head and the rest of her body. Five noticed as Android held Vivian up.

"Rest here for now. I'll check on the others and hopefully we can arrange some food for all of you," Android informed. "I or someone else will check in periodically while you rest."

"I'm fine," Vivian objected lightly, but sat on her bed, looking away from her.

"There is food prepared at the mess hall. Could help with recovery," Android remarked as Vivian got up from her bed, walking up to the door.

"Sorry…I'm not hungry," Vivian replied closing the door before Android could object. Android looked down the hall noticing Five worried.

"How are the others?" Android asked.

"They're walking. It's been a long few hours, but they're doing better," Five informed. Two walked down towards her.

"How is she?" Two asked. Android looked down.

"I've patched her up, however, I'm not sure if her mental status," Android mentioned. "She refuses to eat and she does not wish any company."

Two looked at the doors.

"Keep an eye on her, we're not done with Mikkei," Two mentioned.

"I'm worried about her," Five mentioned.

"She just needs time," Two insisted, she grabbed her coms. "Everyone in the mess. We got a delivery to finish."

Vivian stayed on board while they all continued to finish off the mercenary work. Two was giving a report to Erik Halvor.

"When I got the transmission I can't say I was that worried," Erik smirked.

"Your daughter helped with regaining the ship. Although at a cost," Two informed. "She's recovering. Unfortunately she is…grieving."

Two showed Bruce's collar. Erik shook his head.

"Morons," he breathed. "Anyone else taken early?"

"No one except the intruders thankfully. Although your Halvor is pretty beat up."

Erik scoffed.

"She'll recover. Quickly even," Erik smirked. "You'll see her capabilities soon enough."

"It was pretty significant, not exactly the prettiest thing," Two mentioned.

"You're lucky Portia, not everyone can take back the ship so easily," Erik purred. "How is she? Did she take care of that scum on your ship?"

"I took responsibility off her hands," Two replied. "My men are down there completing the order."

"Good. And…here's something for you," Erik mentioned. He picked up a suitcase of credits. "My daughter's bodyguard will be by for you to collect."

"What's this?"

"Consider it a thank you for taking care of my daughter," Erik grinned. "Maybe next time I can properly thank you in person."

"My pleasure," Two remarked.

"We're heading up. Transaction complete," Three's voice chimed on the coms.

"My men are on their way back. We'll keep you informed," Two informed.

"Remember to call me on the downtime, then we can arrange your reward," Erik grinned. "Until then."

END OF TRANSMISSION flashed on the monitor.

"That's weird, there's significant energy readings coming from the planet's surface," Android mentioned. Two looked at her confused. "We need to evacuate now."

"Where are you guys?" Two questioned hastily.

"Boarding now," Six's voice chimed.

"All power to the engines," Two ordered. "Get us out of here now."

The ship shook, causing the crew to stumble. Vivian felt the sudden thrust of the engines, getting up slightly in concern. Almost as soon as it came, it left after a few shakes in the ship.

"The planet has been destroyed," Android announced, looking at Two.

"Get us out of here," Two ordered, and they jumped into FTL. They were surely in trouble with the planet suddenly being annihilated.

"Shit…what was that?" Three asked as he and the others reached the bridge.

"A more than unfortunate circumstance," Two mentioned. "The planet you were just on was destroyed."

"What?!" One asked.

"It's only a matter of time before it hits someone's radar. Let's hope Mikkei doesn't throw us under the bus," Two shook her head.

"Well…what do we do until then?" Six asked. "It's not like we can just forget a whole planet."

"We're all still recovering. So we'll lay low until we hear reports, something. But until then rest up," Two ordered. They all nodded, Three looking amongst the crew. Weird. Even an earthquake would've woken anyone up.
