"Albus, what are we going to do? There are two students missing. According to their peers neither has been seen since the day of the first task." Minerva spoke breaking the silence of the headmaster's office.
"Have the ghosts and elves scour the entire castle and it's grounds. If they still aren't found by dinner, I shall make an announcement. If you could bring me the missing students' closest friends. Filius and Pomona, I ask that you return to your classes for now. I shall contact Miss. Greengrass's parents." Dumbledore immediately replied soothing everyone's fraying nerves.
The heads of house left the office, their tasks in mind. Dumbledore made his way to the fireplace intending to floo the Greengrass's to his office.
Kneeling down he waited for the floo to connect. When it did, he spoke. "Ah Mrs. Greengrass may I ask that you collect your husband and step through please. I'm afraid it's quite urgent."
Several minutes later both Greengrass parents were sitting in front of the headmaster waiting for the allegedly urgent news. Dumbledore was merely stalling. He had no idea how to break this news let alone how to deal with their reactions. Leonidas Greengrass was a rather tall broad-shouldered man who was known for his calm collected demeanor, but he was no slouch with a wand. His wife on the other hand, Tora Greengrass was a tall lithe woman who was known for a few sadistic tendencies. Dumbledore definitely didn't want to be on the receiving end of her wand. Even with all his knowledge and experience Tora was a strong witch who wouldn't have too much trouble taking Dumbledore out if she so wished.
There were stories about how Leon fell in love with her, but his family disapproved claiming she was too independent, too passionate and free-willed. In an attempt to dissuade Tora from pursuing his son Leon's father told her that if she could consecutively duel everyone in his family then she and Leon would be allowed to court each other. Tora, who never backed down from a challenge, allowed a sadistic grin to consume her face as she accepted. The stories then say she proceeded to mop the floor with Leon's father, mother, his two uncles, and his grandparents. That in and of itself is quite the amazing feat, but it's said that Leon's family didn't land a single spell against Tora. A woman who won six back-to-back duels without getting hit once is a woman not to be trifled with, ever. All that being said Dumbledore couldn't find a better way to break the news than outright telling them and dealing with the consequences.
"Your daughter is missing."
"Excuse me, I could've sworn you just said my daughter is missing." Tora spoke a calm facade plastered on her face as she stared at the headmaster.
"I did" Dumbledore said starting to fidget under the intense woman's gaze.
"Mm, and when you say missing what exactly do you mean?" Tora asked with several dangerous undertones in her voice.
"Well, your daughter has not been spotted on school grounds since before the first task two days ago. I currently have all the elves and ghosts scouring the castle for her whereabouts." Dumbledore said trying to save face
"So let me get this straight, my daughter has not been seen in two days and you're only informing us now."
"Well to be fair the staff was only informed of her disappearance this morning by one Tracey Davis. As soon as we were informed and confirmed that young Daphne was indeed missing, I had the elves and ghosts begin their search." Dumbledore said trying to placate the dangerous woman across from him
"I'll be back first thing in the morning to hear the results of this search." Tora said with a heavy glare at the headmaster and with that she and her husband left.
Daphne found herself once again being awoken by potter.
"Potter what did I tell you about a woman and her beauty sleep." she growled slightly at him not even cracking her eyes open.
"I'm sure you told me plenty, but I highly doubt you'll turn into a hag if you wake up and hour earlier. Plus, we have a whole island to explore and I want to get started as soon as possible so wake up." the last was said as Harry threw a pillow at Daphne's face.
Her indignant shriek rang out as she chased Harry around the room for hitting her with a pillow. Harry could only laugh at her poor attempts to threaten him with the things she'd do once she caught him. Making another lap around the room Harry picked up another pillow lobbing it behind him only to hit Daphne once again. With another shriek she threw the pillow back as hard as she could. A small smirk formed as she watched the pillow soar at potter's back only for potter to turn and snag the pillow out of the air moments before it struck him.
"Forgot I played seeker didn't you. Come on get ready we leave in an hour." Harry said with a crooked grin
Daphne couldn't help but give a small laugh and moved to go get ready. An hour later saw the duo in front of a clothing shop. Daphne couldn't help but ask.
"Why are we here?"
"Well, I realized that of all the shopping we did I forgot one important piece. Namely a swimsuit of some sort. So, we are here to buy you a swimsuit. They got all sorts of styles to bikinis or a full one piece. They got plain, frilly all sorts of stuff." he said smiling.
"And why do I need a swimsuit?"
"Well unless you want to get your normal clothes wet, you'll need a swimsuit because we're headed to the beach today."
"The beach?" she asked with a touch of skepticism
"Yea I've never been so today we're changing that." his grin ever present
Despite her initial hesitancy Daphne found herself following potter into the store. She was scandalized, women willingly showed so much of their bodies in public. She was about to outright refuse till potter pointed out that they didn't want to stand out too much because technically they were runaways. He then helped her find a suitable bikini the top was a simple black with matching bottoms, but it came with a black and white translucent waist wrap that had a floral pattern on it. When she tried it on, she asked potter if she was wearing it right yet all he could do was stare at her.
"Ready to start worshipping the ground I walk on?" she teased hoping to embarrass him, yet his response would leave her the one embarrassed
"I think I'm ready for that picture now." he said absentmindedly
Blushing up a storm she forced potter to pay for the swimsuit so they could leave. The sooner they left the sooner she could forget what he said. Seriously did he even understand how his words could affect a girl.
