Chapter 21: Moving Day

Currently unnamed Dorm Building: - U.A. Highschool

Izuku Midoriya and Minoru Mineta stood outside of what looked to be a brand new building, they each had a backpack slung over their backs. While Midoriya had a better idea of what had been saved from the apartment, he wasn't entirely sure what belongings either of them really had left. 'If Hawks hadn't paid the bill for the two of us, I'm not sure either of us would have had much of anything,' Midoriya thought, 'He shouldn't have had to, I could have made due.'

"So was someone supposed to meet us here?" Mineta finally asked, breaking Midoriya out of his current train of thought, "Or, are we supposed to walk in?"

"I'm sorry for running late," a cheerful voice called out behind them the Principal walked up to them, "I had to deal with a series of meetings this last one ran over."

"Sir, this is too much you really didn't have to..."

"No, Midoriya in this case, I kind of did," the Principal replied holding up a hand or was it a paw, "We tried to unpack things as best we could, given what all you've been through. Come on let's go inside." The rodent administrator led the two boys into the common room.

"This kind of seems a bit big for us," Mineta commented after a moment.

"Well it isn't just for the two of you, given all the attacks on our students this year, I decided that we should start having students staying on campus with our teachers, for their own safety," Nezu answered, "Thus far, I'm going to plan on this being optional for most students, but due to the factor neither of you have anywhere else to go, it was decided you should be living here. This place has full accommodations, including a laundry area and a bathing area."

"You mean there are co-ed bathing, sign me..." Midoriya clamped his hand around Mineta's mouth as Nezu started chuckling.

"No the bathing area is separated, and I'd appreciate it if you behaved," Nezu said with bemusement.

"Midoriya why did..." began Mineta as Midoriya removed his hand.

"You asked me to put on the brakes if you went too far remember..."

"Jeez Izzy I was only kidding," and to Mineta that conversation had felt like a lifetime ago, 'This has affected me more than I thought, if I'm dropping into old bad habits.'

"Another thing for the two of you," Nezu stated suddenly turning serious, "I'm mandating that the two of you attend counselling sessions under Mr. Inui Ryo."

"You mean Hound Dog?" asked Midoriya to which Nezu nodded, "Sir, I'm fine I..."

"No, you're not," admonished Nezu, "Neither of you are fine. I've been monitoring your progress, especially after what happened to your mother and you're the furthest thing from all right!" The principal's body language then softened, "Izuku, if you're concerned on how this will come across to the public and how it will reflect on the school, the circumstances as to why I'm mandating this would be considered quite reasonable, your mother was murdered as well as your father just to hurt you all over a stupid rumor. The shear senseless nature of it is something that anyone would expect you to be having issues, it would honestly be disconcerting to people if you weren't. Additionally, I saw the footage of I-Island, the President of the HPSC was kind enough to forward it to me."

Mineta glanced over at Midoriya whom looked like he was trying to come up with something to say. "Why am I being mandated to see Hound Dog?" he asked.

"You seem to be backsliding into old habits, I want to nip things in the bud," replied Nezu, while he wasn't an expert in child psychology, he could read body language to an extent.

"What about One for All?" Midoriya spoke up, "We don't need more people..."

"I took the liberty of briefing him after consulting the President of the HPSC, All Might, Mr. Aizawa, and Hawks. After explaining my reasoning they agreed," Nezu gestured for the two to sit down on the sofa in the commons room where there was a small coffee table.

"I don't get it, the more people that know..." Mineta began.

"There is such a thing as doctor/patient confidentiality, psychologists are also well known not to talk about their patients," Nezu explained, "I did not recommend Mr. Ryo being read into this lightly, however it is clear you need therapy and neither Ms. Shuzenji nor the Doctor that gave you the physical exam for the HPSC are licensed psychologists, Mr. Ryo and he is also someone I had hand-picked to work here. Additionally, Miss Uraraka actually sent Mr. Aizawa a text about your breakdown Izuku, she was quite worried."

"She..." Midoriya felt betrayed by that, "She..."

"She never promised she wouldn't Izzy," Mineta sighed, "Guess your girlfriend is worried about you." The comment caused Midoriya to glare at Mineta, "You know I'm right Izzy."

"Is my provisional license being suspended or revoked over all of this?" Midoriya asked, trying to shrug off Mineta's comment. 'That would be the typical response to me being mandated to receive counseling...' he thought grimly.

"No," Nezu replied, "Still it is a valid question, however this isn't being mandated on the account of any misbehavior on your part, so your provisional license is still valid as far as I'm concerned unless Mr. Ryo says otherwise. Midoriya, this isn't a punishment, in fact if things were different we'd have you sent to some island somewhere where you could just forget everything for a while, kind of what they tried to do when they sent you to I-Island."

"If I haven't done anything wrong, then why?" Midoriya shook trying to keep from crying, he knew the stigma associated with psychiatric counselling, especially in Japan.

"Midoriya, your parents were murdered, while you are functioning," Principal Nezu paused for a moment, "I should say remarkably well all things considering, you are doing so in a way that is not healthy, and there won't be a stigma considering the circumstances. You saw your mother's dead body, what's worse your father was also murdered, and then you ended up being forced to confront the people that murdered your parents. You already had quite a bit of emotional baggage to address, however with this added on, you are reaching what would be considered a breaking point. It is completely understandable and no one will think twice, even for Mineta here. In any case, I'm trying to head off a bad habit that All Might has, one you don't need to learn."

After a pause, Nezu spoke up again, this time to change the subject, "Let's go see what they did with your rooms."

Mineta's room - 2nd floor of Dorm

Minoru Mineta looked at how the room had been set up, it looked like what few things he had first brought to the Midoriya residence had been salvaged, but there were other things. A poster that had some sort of D&D fantasy theme complete with dragons and hot girls, but their outfits still seemed sexy without crossing the line into being erotic. He also noticed a chess set, a shoji board, and finally a three dimensional chess set.

"Who came up with?"

"I believe Ryukyu came up with the art work," Nezu commented, "She made sure things didn't get overboard while it would appeal to some of your tastes."

"I'll have to thank her," Mineta commented. He noticed a shelf with his fashion design sketchbooks while he walked over to the desk which had a computer, again with a dragon theme, and noticed it was a top-of-the-line desktop. The desk and chair was set up specifically from a boy his height. Finally off to the side he noticed a bean bag chair, a television, and a gaming console, there were also a series of old movies. He then noticed a picture that thankfully Izuku hadn't noticed of Mrs. Midoriya, Izuku and himself, 'That was taken only a week before she died,' he noted.

"Yeah this really does look like a home away from home," he commented as they closed the door, not wanting Izuku to notice the picture.

"I'm glad you liked it," Nezu stated. Both of them had noticed Midoriya had stayed quiet while Mineta had explored his new room, but hadn't said anything.

'If Izzy were doing okay, he'd have been geeking out at the room,' Mineta thought sadly, 'Then again, to be honest I'm not doing too well either.'

The three of them walked back towards the elevator towards the room next door and Nezu let Midoriya open it. Mineta peaked around the corner to see that the room was kind of a mix. There was quite a bit of All Might memorabilia, some were pieces of memorabilia that Mineta recognized, however there was some stuff that was definitely what he'd associate with Hawks.

"Huh is that a Katana?!" Mineta gaped at a sword hanging on the wall, underneath it was a picture of Izuku and Fumikage with Hawks and the rest of his hero agency.

"I remember that picture," Midoriya started chuckling, "Rocky ended up being in front of us because of his height. I don't think mom ever got to..."

"From what I understand she did," Nezu interrupted gently.

"Who did Izzy's room anyways?" asked Mineta trying to change the subject.

"Ryukyu," Nezu answered, "Along with June from Endeavor's agency, primarily because her brother asked her..."

"I-I'll h-have t-to thank them," Midoriya spoke up hesitantly.

"If you two would like to come with me I'll show you were Mr. Ryo's office is," Nezu stated. Midoriya switched off the light to his room and closed the door.

Mall:

Tomura Shigaraki walked in the mall fuming, it had taken all his self-control not to kill that smug flame-wielding ass. 'The girl was annoying, but I think I could get used to her, but that guy...' It had taken some convincing for the Sensei to agree to allow him to have Shuichi join the crew. 'True Spinner isn't powerful, and he is a self-described disciple of Stain, but he's a gaming buddy and I know him well enough, I don't get that other guy's motives though.'

"Hey Jiro, you want to get lunch after I finish with the shopping," came a voice.

"Kaminari, don't you already have all your stuff for camp," she sighed as Tomura's eyes zeroed in on the pair.

"Yeah, but I volunteered to pick up stuff for our two classmates remember..."

"I don't know what the teacher was thinking, sure I don't have anything else going on..." The villain watched in delight as the blond haired twerp walked off to run whatever errands he was doing.

'Jackpot,' thought Tomura as he walked up behind her and threw his arm around her. "Let's have a chat, you know all I have to do to activate my quirk is to let my pinkie finger touch you and you'll die." He reveled in her fear.

"What do you want?" Jiro asked softly trying to keep a level head.

Store:

Denki Kaminari had a pretty good idea of what all to get Midoriya and Mineta, 'Good thing I was given information on their sizes and Mr. Aizawa did say I'd be reimbursed. Even better that I called ahead and ordered the stuff so I could just pick it up at the store.' Getting checked out was a breeze. 'Yeah my first date,' he grinned as he walked back to where Jiro should be. 'Strange she isn't here.'

Then he noticed her sitting by this strange man in a hoodie, he noticed she was terrified. 'Great some creep...' Carrying the shopping bags he walked up to them.

"Hey pal," he stated calmly interrupting the man.

"What, we're having a..."

"Hands off my girl!"

Jiro went pale as a ghost. The man chuckled, "You really are an idiot you know that..."

"Look I don't know who you are and I really don't care, but it really isn't a good idea to threaten someone's girl like that, I remember last week someone got knifed, it was all over the news," he set down one of the shopping bags and let lightning dance between his fingers making sure that the other mall patrons couldn't see, "I'll say again hands off my girl."

Tomura held up both hands, "Okay, I'll leave." He walked off mentally adding that blond haired boy to his priority kill list, 'Or maybe he could be recruited,' he thought.

"Kaminari, you idiot what were you thinking?" Jiro asked, "You could have gotten us both killed that was the guy from USJ."

"Really?" the boy pulled out his phone and hit speed dial for the police.

Police Station:

Denki Kaminari ran through everything that had happened for the third time with the police.

"Again why did you think you could use your quirk..."

"I was hoping I wouldn't have to," he sighed, "I thought that guy was threatening Jiro, and I was hoping it'd get him to think I was nuttier than he was, and dangerous enough in the process that he'd back off. I didn't recognize that he was the guy from USJ because I never saw him except for maybe a picture and he had that weird hand mask on his face. Am I in trouble?"

The officer sighed, "Fortunately for you, he backed off, you were really close to vigilantism. Where did you come up with the knife story anyways?"

"I kinda made that up," he shrugged, "I was kind of scared how things would go down, but I figured the best way was to out crazy him. So..."

"Well you are very lucky you didn't cross the line, I'll let your teachers know that," the officer shook his head as the boy sighed with relief.

"How's Jiro?"

"Bruised throat, but otherwise she's okay," the officer replied as there was a knock on the door and then Aizawa walked in.

"I want to know what possessed you to pull something like that?"

"I thought if I just called the police Jiro could get killed, but if I acted crazy enough he'd back off..." Kaminari gulped.

"So what's the verdict?" Aizawa asked the officer.

"Aside from the minor lecture I've given him, he's free to go," the officer shrugged, "Do you have any family at home right now?"

"No, my parents are in Australia on a business trip," Kaminari shrugged.

"You're spending the night at my place, at least till the dust settles..."

"Teach you don't have..."

"We're assigning an officer to watch him for this evening so that won't be necessary."

"Fine, are those for Midoriya and Mineta?"

"Yeah, I have the receipts," Kaminari pulled out two slips of paper from his jacket, "I'm just glad I ordered ahead of time."

Truth be told Aizawa had no intention of expelling Kaminari over this, whether the boy realized it or not, he had actually read the situation correctly, 'If he hadn't, I would have lost another student.'

Notes:

I cut Midoriya having a conversation with Hound Dog because it didn't seem to fit, and it was more likely Hound Dog would want to talk to him in his office.

Additionally I thought the changes to the Mall would be more interesting.
