Chapter 8

Ten Years ago

"Good news honey, your dad has a date lined up for you for your junior prom. I know you lost a lot by agreeing to go to school in Alabama, but he wanted you to at least have this experience." Maya was more than elated to give Olivia the news over the phone.

Ever since that weekend with Quinn, she hasn't been the same. Maya suspected more went on that weekend, but Olivia still hasn't talked about it. She figured she would agree with Eli that Olivia get a social life down there other than the softball team.

"Mom, I do not want to go to the junior prom. Besides this is an all-girls school. Anyone going to the junior prom has been dating the person, a guy for more than a year. Tell dad thanks, but no thanks." Olivia's heart was still in pieces, even though it had been two and a half months since she saw Fitz.

"His father owns the all-boys prep school across town from you. He's a junior too and you would be doing him and his family a favor by going with him. His name is Russel. He's very handsome, rich, and an athlete, just like you." Maya didn't think she was doing too much convincing.

Yeah, been there done that mom. Those were Olivia's thoughts. She shook her head, realizing her mother couldn't see that. "No, mom, I am not interested. Just tell dad to respect my wishes on this."

"Baby, that isn't happening. He has family that works with your dad. This is the full circle that got you in to the school you're at, it's the least you can do. Besides Russel said he's seen you play softball, he kind of likes you."

Olivia rolled her eyes. "Mom, why can't you just understand I have no interest in going to the junior prom, I'll have no interest in going to the senior prom either. I came here to work on softball and prepare for college, not to date and go to social events." Olivia was getting frustrated.

Maya knew this went far beyond a noninterest. She was speaking to her daughter who had her heart broken. She could tell in her voice, in her actions, and now in her words. She had to break her out of this somehow.

"We're making a trip down there next weekend. It's your last home game of the season and we'll do some shopping. You'll feel better about going after we buy a nice dress. Shop therapy always makes you feel better."

Why couldn't her mother just understand? There was no hope for her. Her heart would always belong to Fitz. She tried, once about a month ago to get back on the dating scene. It wasn't happening. She still felt his arms around her, smelled him in his sweatshirt, and longed for him to whisper in her ear. It was useless.

"Mom, come for the game, after that we will see." Olivia paused. She took a deep, angry breath. "Dad already told the guy I would go didn't he." Her teeth clenched. "Tell dad I am not a prize to be bargained for mom, I have to go." She hung the phone up and left it in her room as she went for a walk.

Three girls from the softball team had convinced her to go to the movies a month ago. She didn't know there were four guys waiting at the theater for them to show up. She was used as the fourth date needed for the guy with no date. His name was Meyer something, and Liv lost interest from the moment she saw him.

He tried to be nice, buying her popcorn, talking nice to her. It wasn't the guy's fault, and Olivia wound up feeling horrible. It was just too soon, but she couldn't tell that to her teammates. She told Meyer she wasn't interested in dating, not because of him because of her work ethic and that was that.

Present Day

"Good news mom. I'm surviving the day." Olivia was finding it hard to get the smile off her face and she sensed her mother could figure that out.

"No Fitz wine? Are you going out with Jake tonight? You sound happy. You haven't sounded happy on this day for ten years." Maya paused. "You found him, didn't you?"

Olivia shook her head up and down. Her mother couldn't see that. She covered her mouth so she wouldn't squeal. God she was acting like a love-struck teenager, but didn't she deserve to? This was all taken from them ten years ago.

"Yes mom, I found him. He just left. We just spent the past two nights together. I….he…mom he's everything I hoped he would still be." She went from pure happiness to crying in seconds.

Maya took a deep breath. She wasn't sure if this was a bad thing or a good thing. She heard happiness in Olivia's voice, it was true happiness and it's something she hadn't heard from her in ten years. Maybe it was a good thing.

"Alright, what did you do to Jake? I knew this day would come, you never listen to your mother, do you? Tell me you called Jake to break the news to him."

"I didn't have to, we broke it off during the past week, two days before I saw Fitz again. He proposed to me in Central Park."

"Fitz proposed to you in Central Park?" Maya interrupted, stunned.

"No, I wish, but that's a different story. Jake proposed to me. What is wrong with him? He knew I wasn't vested in the relationship. I turned him down and that was that."

Maya stayed silent. She waited. She knew there was more. She shook her head. Her child was always doing this to the boys, the men who wanted a chance with her. There really was no competing with this Fitz guy.

"Baby, you did the same thing to Russel on his prom night. You wouldn't even go meet Marcus once you finished law school. It wasn't just that was that what are you not telling me?"

"Jake knew all along I had something for a guy named Fitz, he was just being hopeful on his part, and it backfired."

"You called him Fitz, didn't you? Oh my God, you called him Fitz during sex, you did. Olivia, tell me you didn't."

Olivia laughed. "I did."

"Girl, this Fitz, he did quite the number on you. So why are you happy today besides the obvious, there's more."

"Can you come over? I'll send an Uber. I need a dress for tonight and I could use your opinion." Olivia began to tell her about the dinner tonight.

Ten Years ago

"Fitz come on, it's the senior prom. You have to go. Even if you don't go with me, you have to go." Melody was getting on Fitz's last nerve.

Fitz was with Mason eating in the cafeteria when Melody walked in and spotted him. He had been successful at avoiding her for a few months now. She finally found him and was relentless about wanting him to take her to the senior prom.

"Look Melody, it isn't my fault you kept telling everyone we were a thing when you knew we weren't. The week after prom is finals and I have to do well on them. I am going to spend the weekend studying."

"Ha!" Melody threw her head back. Mason shook his head at Fitz. It was as if Mason was trying to tell him it was hopeless.

Mason got up. "I have class in a few minutes. Melody, good luck. See ya later Fitz."

"Fitzgerald Grant the Third, don't you dare leave me without a date on prom night. I will make a scene right here in this cafeteria if you do not agree to go with me right now."

Fitz put his head in his hands. This girl infuriated him. He covered his nose and mouth and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and could only see Olivia. He wanted to bring Olivia to the prom, no one else. Since that was not happening, he wasn't going.

"Melody, go ahead, make your scene. I have no desire to go to the senior prom. I have too much to do."

Melody could feel her face getting hot, flushed. "I will call your father. I will tell him what you're doing."

Fitz crossed his eyebrows. "What am I doing?"

"You're hurting my feelings You're making me feel useless. I feel used, Fitz. We've been friends forever, don't do this to me."

Fitz took a deep breath again. He knows all about hurting feelings, and Melody is in no way a victim here. Besides if he didn't just agree to her want right now, he would have to deal with his father.

He threw his hands up in defeat. The last thing he wanted was anyone on his arm that wasn't Olivia. "Fine, Melody, now go away."

She clapped in happiness and ran off.

Present Day

Fitz stared at the uniform laid out on his bed. Since he joined the Navy, he had worn this uniform or a form of it hundreds of times. He had never been as nervous to put it on as this time. He closed his eyes. He was really going to be in his dinner dress blues for Olivia.

He heard a knock on his door. He couldn't imagine who it would be. He opened the door to Connors, who wasn't dressed yet either for the dinner. "What's up?"

Connors walked in and sat on Fitz's couch. "I have a confession to make. I don't want you get upset, but I also don't want you to hear it from anyone else."

Fitz rolled his eyes and tilted his head. "What did your dumb ass do now?"

"I didn't want to lose $500. I am so sure you don't have a thing for the lawyer. Olivia, right? Gonzo is so sure of it though and it just bothers me. I looked up that girl you mentioned a few times as your friend, the family friend in high school."

Fitz's teeth clenched. "Melody Sinclair? Tell me you didn't. What the hell Connors, why is my life so fascinating to you?"

"It's not that it's fascinating, I just can't believe a man with your looks, your money, your talent is single, by choice. I know you aren't gay, that's not the reason and you just never talk about why your heart is truly hurting. I am just concerned and want you to be happy. You do so much for so many. You saved my ass plenty of times in Top Gun, I just, I don't know…."

"What did Melody say, did you get a hold of her?"

"I did. She's a posh lawyer in Boston. She works for a….

"For a private financial firm, I know. She makes close to 250K a year. Nothing I am not aware of."

"So you've been in touch with her?"

"I know things through my father, he is still friendly with her parents. What did she say?"

"She said it wasn't her you were in love with that's for sure. She wished it was at one point in her life. She said it was someone who broke your heart. I invited her to the dinner tonight, but she respectfully declined and sends her best to you. She said she didn't want a repeat of the prom. Whatever that is supposed to mean." Connors shrugged.

"You're such an ass Connors. It means she bothered me to no end until I said I would take her to the prom. When the night of prom finally arrived, I ditched her. I let her take some pictures of us as a couple, but I left the limo, I didn't show up at the venue, I basically ditched her. She didn't hold a grudge, that's one thing about Melody, she never could stay mad at me."

"Wow, ok then, in case she calls you or you talk to her, you know what I did, and I apologize. I called the bet off with Gonzo. You're right using you and betting on your women, that's wrong, but tell me I am not crazy. You are in love with someone aren't you?"

"I guess you'll just have to wait and see. Today is Valentine's Day, let love play its course you freak. Is Nance coming to the dinner or did she finally realize you're a hopeless cause." Fitz laughed.

"She'll be here." Connors stood up. He put his hand out for Fitz. "No hard feelings?"

Fitz shook his head. If this was a week ago, he probably would have punched Connors, but now he is a man in love with an incredible woman who is back in his life. Fitz patted his back and took his hand. "No hard feelings. I'll see you later, with the love of my life." He closed the door seeing Connor's face turn to shock as it slammed.

Ten Years ago

"Oh my, you look stunning Olivia. It is a gorgeous step up from the sweats and t-shirts you love to wear so much. Russel isn't going to know what hit him." Liv's mother was fixing the back of her dress as Liv looked in the body length mirror sighing softly to herself.

"I don't want to go Mom, I am not changing my mind. I don't care what Russel thinks of me in this dress." Olivia met Russell a week ago and had seen him two more times after that. He was arrogant, conceited, and had no problem letting Olivia know she was his object of desire.

"Olivia, just buckle down. Come on, go out, have some fun. You've been nothing but softball and academics since you got here."

"Most parents would be proud of that." The door swung open after a slight knock. Olivia rolled her eyes when it was her father who walked in.

"Oh my, you look beautiful. Russel better not let you out of his sight tonight." Eli gave Liv a kiss on the cheek. "You will be the most gorgeous girl there."

"I don't want to be there in the first place, Dad, you shouldn't be making me go. I don't like Russel."

"Nonsense. Who doesn't like Russel? He's young, handsome, rich, and will one day be powerful. Go, enjoy yourself. You deserve it."

Her parents turned to talk to each other. Liv stared at herself in the mirror. The dress was stunning. It was a burgundy floor length prom dress. It was sleeveless but not halter top, showing Olivia's developing arms and it separated at her cleavage. Those were also developing and filled the dress nicely.

She wanted Fitz to see her in this dress. She imagined him after the prom pulling the dress off her shoulders, kissing them gently and sliding the dress off until she could step out of it and hug him. She put her head down. She should be with him, looking this beautiful.

The knock on the door brought her to reality. It was her teammates. The three of them all dressed to perfection, much like Olivia. Maya let them in as they took several pictures before the limo arrived.

"I still can't believe you get to go with Russel, you're so frigging lucky." Jazmine had a crush on Russel, but she had to settle to go with Greg.

Liv shrugged. "You want him, he's all yours."

"Olivia", her father's voice echoed in her dorm room.

After some finishing touches to the girls' hair and make up Liv's parents walked them to the limo. Maya faced Olivia. "Have a good time, I mean it. Text me when you're back. We'll meet up for lunch tomorrow before your game."

Liv put on a fake smile and nodded her head. She got into the limo and reached in her purse. She looked down at the picture of Fitz. She gave it a rub, as she always did and just breathed a sigh of depression.

Halfway to the venue, Liv asked the driver to pull over. She needed to go to the bathroom and couldn't wait to get to the banquet hall. After fifteen minutes of waiting, Jazmine went in to look for Liv. She couldn't find her anywhere.

Jazmine's phone buzzed. It was Liv with a text. I am fine. Tell Russel I got sick on the way. I am in a taxi back to campus. Don't be mad at me Jaz ok, I'll explain tomorrow."

As soon as the limo doors opened at the banquet hall, Russell was left embarrassed and speechless. He called Eli immediately. Needless to say, Liv did not have a good rest of the night, but once her father's initial anger was gone, Liv slept like a baby knowing she didn't have to be with anyone while still so in love with Fitz.

Present Day

"Wow! I hope he is worth it baby girl." Maya took a step back after zipping Liv's dress in the back. "You look beautiful, and you're glowing."

Liv smiled looking in the full-length mirror. She did look beautiful and after the past two nights she felt beautiful too. She had Fitz back in her life and they were in love.

"I feel great mom, I really do. I am looking forward to the dinner and dance tonight."

"Well one look at you in that dress, he should be grateful you forgave him."

"He forgave me too, mom, I could have called him. I was just as much to blame for not hearing him out, but that's in the past now. We will have a future together."

Maya studied her daughter. "You seem quite sure of that."

"I am mom, I may sound crazy to you, but I have loved him for ten years. Being with him these past two nights justified that love. I am looking forward to our first date tonight. It should have happened ten years ago."

Maya nodded her head with a bit of uncertainty. "And how did you two meet up again?"

"I am lead on a grant project for work. Mr. Santos took my caseload and gave it to other public defenders. We are working with the Military base, and he is the contact for the engineers on base. He didn't even know it was me until the day we had a meeting. I had no idea he was the contact either." Liv shrugged in happiness. "Now, here we are again."

Maya smiled. "Girl, you have it bad. Well, I am not going to stand in the way for love. I do want to meet this gentleman though. See if he is available for dinner on Wednesday. You can come over and we can have him meet your dad."

Liv hugged her mother. "Thank you so much. But, please, don't mention…."

"Girl, do I look like I was born yesterday?"

The doorbell rang. Liv looked towards the door. "He has a car coming to get me. That may be the driver."

It wasn't the driver. It was a delivery guy. He had a dozen pink and red roses for Olivia along with a jewelry box. "Delivery for Ms. Pope, wow, you are beautiful." Maya side eyed the delivery boy.

"Thank you young man, that's sweet of you, you know I am Ms. Pope." Maya couldn't help but make the man feel embarrassed.

The delivery guy cleared his throat. "I am so sorry ma'am, but you are also. Anyway, here, the tip has been taken care of." Blushing with his face as red as Liv's dress the young guy ran to the elevator.

Maya took the flowers and set them on Liv's table. She watched Liv open the box and cover her mouth with her hand. It was a rose gold thin bracelet with diamond letters that spelled out "Livvie". Olivia took a deep breath and tried to hold her tears back.

"No crying, nuh uh, you know how long I worked on that make up. Hand it over, I will put it on." It took Maya's breath away. It was so delicate, a sign of how much this Fitz really loved her daughter. "Is this what he calls you?"

"From the first time we talked on campus." Liv watched as Maya secured the bracelet and remembered the first time he called her Livvie.

Maya looked at her daughter. She was dressed in an above knee red boat neck short sleeved dress. Liv didn't want to show too much skin at a military dinner. It was silk and it had a back zipper that Liv was hoping Fitz would gladly undo tonight. It was plain, yet elegant and with Liv's beauty it magnified the style of the dress.

She got into the spacious black town car waiting below and hugged her mother goodbye after a few selfies and solos with her mom's phone. "This time stay in the car Liv. I love you and enjoy. Call me when you get home tonight, and not too late, you have work."

Liv lifted her overnight bag. "I won't be home tonight." She closed the car door before the driver could watching her mother's shocked face as the car drove off.

Ten Years ago

Fitz stared at his uniform hanging in his dorm room. Ever since his Livvie ran out on him it was hard to be in that room. There were so many memories of what they shared. He had an aching in his heart two months later.

Having been accepted into the Top Gun program of the Naval Academy, the ROTC on campus required the future officers of each branch to wear their military uniform to certain functions. The senior prom was on of those functions. He didn't want to go and staring at that uniform wouldn't change his mind.

He took a deep breath. His father had already called and thanked him. The Sinclair's were ecstatic he was taking Melody the prom. "Yeah, dad, sure, no problem, should be fun."

"Make sure you send some pictures; I am eager to see you in your Navy blues."

Mason knocked on the door. He opened it and Mason gave out a whistle. "Wow, sexy, you look hot."

"Shut up nerd. You look like a penguin." Fitz answered back.

"Thanks for the compliment. Ally is going to be with the most gorgeous guy there." Mason fixed his collar and looked in Fitz's mirror to fiddle with his hair.

"I'm taking a few pictures with Melody and you're on your own Mace, I can't go. I am just not into it."

"Fitz, man, what the hell. The past few months. You have no desire to do anything. You know how good you look in that uniform. I am not being an ass right now, it's so right for you. You deserve to show it off."

Olivia should be on my arm seeing me in this uniform. He turned to the bed. She should be unbuttoning the jacket later, kissing down his chest. He closed his eyes. All he saw was her eyes looking back at him, lovingly.

"Sorry Mace, not happening, just getting you prepared, ok."

"You know I have your back, no matter what. I just wish you would talk to me."

"When the time is right." They headed out, walking to the girl's campus where the car would be waiting for them along with two other couples.

Melody hired a professional photographer. "of course, she did." Fitz whispered to himself. For a half hour they took various shots. You would think it was her wedding day.

They all piled into the car. On the way to the venue, Fitz asked the driver to pull over. "Sorry, Melody, I can't wait, I have to go."

Thinking he meant the bathroom; she threw her hand in the air. "Whatever, just hurry up. It looks gross in there anyway, don't mess up your uniform."

After fifteen minutes, Mason went in to look for him, knowing damn well he took off. Mason got back to the car. Before he could speak, Melody's phone buzzed. "Sorry, Mel, I wasn't feeling all that good. I am heading back to the dorm in a taxi. Go on and enjoy your night. See you soon."

Fitz lay awake in his bed that night. He was staring at the uniform. Mason was right, he should be showing it off, but he only wanted to show it off to one person. He wondered what she was doing right now. He hoped she was happy, not with another boy, just happy, living her dream in Alabama.

He fell asleep, while his classmates were enjoying dancing and partying at the prom, his eyes closed, and he dreamed of dancing one day again with his Livvie. He dreamed of taking off her fancy dress and making love to her, gently, lovingly, just to make up for all the hurt he caused her.

Present Day (the 14th of February Military dinner)

The car is approaching Mister. Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers and the most elegant bracelet. I can't wait to see you. Liv hit send and took a deep breath. She felt so nervous yet so anxious. It was just all an overwhelming feeling of happiness.

She thought of how she got to this point. She was finally comfortable in the way she looked tonight. It took a long time to gain back her self-esteem. All the girls she ever friended were jealous of her looks. They didn't understand why she felt so little of herself.

"I am holding my breath and you are most welcome. Nothing could be as beautiful or elegant as you Livvie." Liv read his text message back and the smile stayed on her face.

She looked out the windshield. She couldn't make him out with all the military uniforms that were there waiting outside. Then she saw his curls. "Wow" She said it out loud and the driver smiled. Fitz turned towards the car, and she saw that uniform on him. It was different than the one he wore at her office; this was more formal.

His left side was filled with so many awards. He was so gifted, but it's nothing Liv didn't expect from him. Despite her not being in his life, he accomplished what he set out to do. She couldn't help but feel so proud of him.

The door opened and she saw his hand. The driver said to leave the bag, he would take it to Fitz's house on base. She reached out and she was pulled out of the car.

Even though it was early evening in February in New Jersey, Liv did not feel any chill in the air. He held her out at arm's length from him and his face was just pure admiration. "God, Livvie, you look absolutely stunning."

"You look edible yourself officer." She couldn't resist the curls and pulled him in for a quick kiss.

"I can't wait to take this off you, baby." He whispered in her ear, and she suddenly felt the cold air as his voice gave her arms goosebumps up and down. He put his arm out. "Shall we?"

Liv took a hard swallow. She tucked her small purse under her arm and interlocked her other arm with his. The doors were opened to a well-lighted banquet hall. She felt Fitz turn towards her.

Her silk dress, her bracelet, and her overall feeling had her glowing, and Fitz felt that. "You are glowing Liv, don't worry about the stares, just hold on to me, ok. Our table is over there. Do you see Connors? He is here with his longtime girlfriend Nance."

Liv nodded. The band was playing soft music for now as everyone was coming in and being seated. There were so many families with children here and Liv felt a hint of jealousy and regret. This could have been them had she not been so stubborn.

She put her hand on his back as she let his arm go. They approached the table, and she was unknowingly rubbing his back as he introduced her to Nance. Nance stood up. "So nice to meet you, Olivia. So, you're the one who has Fitz's heart. I can see why, you are beautiful."

Liv looked down and back up again. "Thank you, your dress is gorgeous, and I love your hair." She looked over at Connors who seemed stunned. "Hello Commander, good to see you again."

Connors stood up. "Wow, so you knew Fitz, you know Fitz, I mean." He just didn't know what to say. "I am sorry if I offended you in any way Ms. Pope, it wasn't my intention."

"No worries." Fitz pulled her chair out for her, and she sat down and watched him sit next to her.

"What did your big mouth do now?" Nance was looking sternly at Connors.

"Go easy on him Nance, it wasn't his fault and it's a long story. We'll do dinner one night to talk about it ok." Fitz gave Liv a kiss on her cheek. "You smell heavenly too." His hand rubbed her upper thigh and she had to take a deep breath.

"Oh yeah!" There was clapping and loud yell from the entrance and the person who was doing both was practically skipping to their table. "That's my boy Fitz, and that's Olivia Pope, I knew it, I just knew it. I know chemistry when I see it. Y'all see this, look at the love. Feeeeel the love." Lieutenant Gonzo Waters was happier than Fitz and Liv it seemed.

He walked over to Olivia. He pulled her hand to his lips. "Pleasure to be in the presence of such beauty."

"Will you sit your ass down Gonzo and stop making a scene." Fitz shook his head laughing.

Before he sat down, he faced the tables again and threw his hands up again. "Commander Fitzgerald Grant the third ladies and gentlemen." A round of applause again, and Liv couldn't believe how Fitz was blushing.

"I was in that room the other day Ms. Pope. I swear you are the object of beautification, and I was ready to ask you out right there. Then I looked over at my boy Fitz there and I saw it in his eyes, the man is in love. Y'all know each other don't you. You have a history, don't you?"

Liv shook her head, putting her arm around Fitz. "Yes, Lieutenant we do, we were reunited that day and well here I am."

Gonzo picked up his glass of water. "Here's to you two. Man, you are perfect together. Such love, you can feel it. Can't you feel it Connors. You're lucky you canceled that bet. $500 would have been nice. I have to go find a woman to dance. See you later. Fitz if you leave early, I don't blame you."

"I like him." Liv whispered to Fitz. "He's a bundle of joy."

"That he is. He's a great soldier too. He has your back no matter what. I have nothing but respect for him."

After a fulfilling dinner, small talk with Nance and Connors, and some slow dancing with Fitz, Liv didn't want to stay anymore. She wanted to go back with Fitz and begin their night, their Valentine's night that was owed to them for so many years.

Liv's hands were around Fitz's neck. His hands were on her hips as they slowly danced. The music changed and they were now dancing the "The Search in Over" by Survivor. "I found my Mister." She whispered in his ear and hugged him close.

Fitz smiled. "You sure did, and I found my Livvie." His lips connected with hers and they continued to dance lip locked forgetting the crowded room watching them. They stopped when they heard some whistles and applause, and Liv just connected her forehead with his.

"I love you Fitz, and I am so happy to be here with you."

"I love you more Livvie, let's not be here anymore ok." He took her hand and guided her towards the lobby.

He called for the car, and they were on the way to his place.

The 14th of February their night (finally)

Before they entered his place, Fitz turned to her. "Did you have a good time Livvie?"

"I had the best time Fitz. It was amazing."

Fitz smiled. "I think this is where I give you a good night kiss on the porch, only difference you're coming inside with me."

"The more we kiss the better." She met his lips as they kissed softly and lovingly on the porch. She dropped her head so her forehead was on the bridge of his nose.

"What is it Livvie, what's wrong?"

She shook her head. "Nothing Fitz, nothing at all. My heart ached for how long I loved you and now we are here."

He smiled. "Yes we are." He picked up the bag the driver left on the porch an headed inside.

Fitz dropped her bag right next to the door. He went down to her neck, kissing it gently as his hands made their way to the back of the dress. "I have been wanting to take this off the moment I saw you in it."

"Just wait." Liv was breathing heavy, "one second." She pulled her phone out of her purse, Fitz noticed something fell with it. He picked it up and looked at it. "I never stopped carrying that with me no matter where I went." Liv admitted.

He looked at his surfing picture that once was pinned in his room in front of the dumb list. He handed it back to her and pointed to his desk. She saw a frame and in it was her All-American picture that was pictured in the Crimson Tide magazine. "I have several of those." Fitz admitted.

She took a few selfies of them, so she had them. Aside from the formal one they took at the dinner; she could send these to her mom. This was the prom she never had.

She put her things down and began unbuttoning his jacket, as her zipper came down. He rolled the dress off her shoulders, kissing them both as he did so. It felt so good. It was just as she imagined ten years ago. As the dress fell, he was looking at her body in a red lace bra and lace underwear.

She gave him a moment to remove and hang up his jacket before heading into his bedroom. The place looked small and cozy, and she figured she had plenty of time for a tour another day.

Within minutes they were on his bed, not able to get enough of each other's lips. He wasn't directly on top of her, but she could feel the warmth of his body. She pulled him for a hug, eyes filling with tears. "I waited so long for this night Fitz. Valentine's night. I won't ever spend another one alone."

"No, you won't Livvie, that's a promise." He engulfed one of her breasts in his mouth and the moan caused his body to finally get on top of her. He popped her breast out of his mouth and devoured her lips once again. Her hips were rising in anticipation of him entering her.

He reached over into his nightstand drawer. He was about to take out a condom, and Liv stopped him. "Livvie, are you sure?"

"I am if you're ok with it. If it's meant to be Fitz, let it be." She pulled him down with one hand, and with her other guided his erection to her entrance.

"Ahh, Livvie, you're so wet, so ready." He took it slow, entering her and watching her face taking it all in, seeing her licking her lips. He just went with the feeling and caressed her face. Then he stopped.

He pulled her up, so he was still in her, but she was sitting on top of him and she began to ride him, like it was instinct. He just watched in pure pleasure, and she was so close, he could tell.

He rubbed her stomach, up to her breasts. "I waited ten years for this night, for this to be happening. I love you Livvie."

Her hands rested on his chest. He saw the bracelet he gave her, sparkling with the light. He finally grabbed her ass and pushed her, grinding him more into her. Her face looked like she was in pain, eyes closed, eyebrows down, she was biting her bottom lip. "Fitz." It came out shaky, but it came out.

She was about to fall forward onto his chest, but he held her there. She was still shaking, and he gave a final thrust with a grunt, as he emptied himself into her. He then rolled her around, kissing her hungrily as they both came down from their orgasms.

"Why did I even bother bringing pajamas?" Liv laughed, out of breath.

"Good question." Fitz smiled at her.

"Ugh," she moaned. "Work in the morning."

"Yes, it's been such a wonderful weekend. Can we begin our forever now?"

She put her hand on his face. "I began my forever with you ten years ago Fitz. I never stopped loving you and I never will."

He pulled her close to him. "What time do you need to be up to be at work?"

"I'll start getting ready at 7. I have to be to work at nine, but I'm closer than my place for the train ride. I don't anticipate we will sleep through the night though." She looked at him with such desire, knowing they were going more than one time.

"MMMM. Livvie, you are going to exhaust me on a work night, but no train for you, I'm taking my girlfriend to work in the morning."

She kissed his chest, up to his neck, to his cheek and stopped by his lips. She glanced over at the clock. It was 11:59. "Happy Valentine's Day, Mister."

The clock changed to midnight. "It was the best Valentine's Day I ever had."

He watched as she fell asleep for now wrapped in his arms. They made it through a 14th of February, and Fitz was looking forward to the many more they had coming in their lifetime.
