Chapter 10

Top Gun Academy Nevada

Visitor's weekend had Fitz both excited and sad. It had been a grueling nine weeks of training and he still had three more weeks to go.

To put a small break in the training, the program welcomed visitors for a week. Fitz had called Mason well in advance so he could coordinate a schedule to come out and spend time with him. Although Fitz had his Navy buddies, no one was a friend to him like Mason was. He missed his partner in crime and wanted to spend a few days with him.

Besides, Mason was the only one who knew about Olivia so Fitz could talk openly about her and how much he missed her. Mason would show no judgement, only support and it was something Fitz desperately needed now.

Big Gerry was scheduled to come in for three nights after Mason left. He was able to maneuver his way from the Senate floor to come out. He told Fitz it was pushing it considering Top Gun graduation was three weeks away and he would need more time off, but for his son, he would do it.

The only visitor he would be missing was his Livvie. She had exceled her junior year as a softball player. He had subscribed to the Alabama local paper just to read about Alabama Prep school. She had started at third base, remained healthy throughout the season, and received First Team All American honors.

Fitz cut out the picture they featured of her and was able to get about ten copies made off base. He had to do it off base otherwise news would fly faster than the jets he was flying. No one, besides Mason, knew how in love with Olivia Fitz still was.

As much as he tried to forget her, he couldn't. He even let his guard down one time when Connors begged him once again to go out. This time he brought the girl back to his cabin. Regretfully he slept with her, but he felt nothing.

That's not entirely true, he felt guilt. He respectfully declined her offer to see each other again. The whole time with her he thought of Olivia and that was just low on his part. He couldn't make another woman feel so low about herself, so he told her how focused he was on the academy.

Between the rigorous training and feeling down about Olivia, Fitz could use the break and some laughs with Mason. Even though they spoke weekly, it wouldn't be the same as having him here. He was now waiting his friend's arrival at the Visitor's Center on Base.

"Ooh, look at the hot shot pilot over there." Before Fitz could turn around, Mason had jumped on his back. Fitz grabbed his legs.

"Aww, does the math genius want a piggyback ride to recite his multiplication facts?" Fitz started bopping up and down.

He finally dropped him, and they gave each other and big gripping friendship hug. "Man, I am so glad to see you, they have us working nonstop here. It wouldn't be too bad, but the Nevada heat just makes it ten times worse. Also, knowing I will one day be fighting to save the nerds like you, is it worth it." Fitz smiled and pushed Mason's head.

"Thanks for inviting me." Mason looked around. "Looks like there are plenty of women here to keep you busy on your time off though." He winked at a gorgeous blonde who waved at him as they were walking towards the base.

Fitz shrugged. "I guess. I don't notice that too much."

Mason stopped and looked at him. "Don't tell me you're still…Fitz still? Wow."

"Yeah still. Mason those two nights, they just…well it's hard to explain. Anyway, let's enjoy these next few days, ok?"

Present day

Trying to coordinate schedules was nearly impossible. Fitz had been told the day after he met Liv's parents that he would be lead on the base for the youth challenge Engineering program, a new program designated to help the youth understand engineering and work in coordination with Liv's program. In order to continue to receive funding, each department had to train the youth in something new.

Fitz's group, along with several other engineer instructors were to instruct the students on making an engine suitable for an F-35. Fitz's days were from 9-6 and working with both the youth and fellow soldiers had him exhausted.

Mason's schedule was just as crammed up. Teaching at a top school at MIT was no joke and getting away wasn't easy. Mason was determined to get to NJ though to have dinner with Fitz and Olivia. Fitz was filled with happiness when he told Mason who he was with.

Mason had spoken to Fitz every week since graduating high school. He hadn't heard true happiness in his friend's voice in ten years. "Mason, we found each other. Olivia is here with me, it's everything I had hoped it would be and it was so worth waiting for."

Mason was so happy for him. He thought Fitz would never get back on track, be able to live a life with true happiness, and he finally found the missing piece.

"That's great news, Fitz. I can hear it in your voice. Let's work something out so we can meet up."

Finally, a month later, they both had a break in their schedules. Almost a month to the day Fitz and Liv found each other again they would be meeting Mason for dinner and spending the weekend with him.

Liv saw how excited Fitz was to have been able to make the plans with Mason. She remembered their friendship as she followed Fitz around the campus. They were always together, always laughing and fooling around.

Liv also knew how supportive Mason was after she left. She too was looking forward to meeting up with Mason. If it made Fitz happy, it made her happy.

Fitz was waiting at the airport as Mason's plane was about to land. Liv wanted to be there with him when he came in, but her schedule was just as hectic.

The plans for the grant had taken off, and Liv was buried deep in dividing the funding and assigning the students to the proper departments. Between scheduling on the base and different firms throughout the state, Liv was bombarded with work.

On the night Mason was to arrive, Liv had to have several meetings with parents of the students for the program. There were so many legalities needed to be put in place before a student could just enter a workplace. Being shorthanded to begin with, Liv had her hands full of work. That meant less time with Fitz, and it was aching them both to be apart.

Liv's Senior Year

"Three more days and I have to begin my senior year without you. Damn Liv, I am so proud of you, but I am so upset at the same time." Quinn had come over to Liv's place to spend the night. Liv was leaving tomorrow afternoon to begin her senior year at Alabama Prep.

"I know Quinn, but it's been everything I had hoped it would. I am doing well not only in softball, but academics as well, all honors classes for me this year, it's going to be tough, but it's what I want."

"I get it, I mean look at this, how can I compete with this?" Quinn was holding up the article that featured Liv's picture, the same picture Fitz had ten copies of in his possession.

"Olivia Pope is burning up the high school softball scene in Alabama. Having just started at Alabama Prep in February, Olivia gained a starting third base position and is on track to break the record of runs scored. She has been named First Team All American and is a lock to get Gatorade Player of the year honors." Quinn was reading the words from the article, but Olivia was lost in a dream.

She had imagined Fitz had seen the paper, maybe even the picture. As much as she missed him, she hoped if he did see the picture, he saw her success despite how he had hurt her. She also had Nathan's number in her possession.

Nathan was a Navy reserve and had friends that knew of Fitz and other Top Gun pilots. As soon as she got back down to Alabama, Liv would ask him to look up Fitz to see how he was doing. She worried about him, didn't know why, but she did.

"Hellloooooooooooo, Liv, you there?" Quinn was snapping her fingers in Liv's eyes. Liv blinked and looked at her.

"Sorry, yeah, I was just thinking about the season. I think it was luck. Strange place, something to prove, you know, all that. I don't know if I'll have the same success my senior year, although I need it to secure a scholarship and spot on the Alabama University team."

"Please, as if. Come on Liv don't shortchange yourself, you're that good. I've seen you in the batting cages, you pound that ball, you have a knack for this. By the way I am taking this article to Mo. He asks about you whenever I see him. He's going to be so proud. You should stop by and visit if you can."

"I would, but I don't even think I am coming home this year. My parents will be coming down. The courses are just so rigorous, and I may need a tutor just to help me maintain honor grades."

"And?" Quinn asked cautiously."

"And what?" Liv looked confusingly at her.

"The guys? How is the guy situation down there? I mean you'll be by yourself most of the time, don't tell me you haven't had a chance to find any guys."

"No guys, Quinn, really. I am focused on my academics and athletics." Liv shrugged.

"So, you're still a virgin?" Quinn squinted at her.

Liv took a deep breath, obviously showing how uncomfortable she was talking about it. "Maybe." Liv nudged Quinn. "A girl has to keep some secrets right."

"Well, I am not keeping any. Charlie and I can't stop. It's been great. I don't know what I am going to do with him not being on campus anymore. He is working with the CIA, and I don't know when I'll get to see him."

"Liv, Quinn, dinner." Liv's mother called giving Liv an out from the awkward conversation and not having her lie to Quinn anymore.

Present Day

"You know I used to love you Liv, really, I did. I loved you so much as a friend, now you are driving me insane." Quinn was trying to set up an appointment to have dinner with Liv and her "surprise."

"I know, I am so sorry, Quinn, my schedule has been crazy busy. I thought being a lawyer I would be in court all day fighting with judges, instead I am in schools all day fighting with parents. This grant is important though."

"I get it, I do, but can't you at least tell me WHO you are dating, it's been a month now, come on."

Liv chuckled. It had been a month, a fast month, but the past week Liv hadn't even seen Fitz and she was looking forward to dinner tonight even if it was with Mason.

"No, I want you to be surprised in person. How about next Friday? We can come to you over in the city. Maybe we can catch a Broadway show too with you and Charlie."

"You know what we're doing it. I am going to get tickets to a show so you can't cancel. We'll eat at Alfredo's, I'll set the reservation up. This better be worth it Liv, or I am kicking your ass."

"I don't doubt it for a minute. Love you Quinn, I'll see you next week."

As soon as Liv hit the end call, her phone buzzed again. Thinking it was Quinn giving her another warning because that's the game she plays Liv answered. "I know, you forgot to say you love me too."

"Who loves you too? Should I know something Livvie.?" Fitz's voice filled her ear on the other end.

"Hey Mister. How are you?"

"No, no, you first, who loves you?"

"Calm the temper Commander, I was talking to Quinn a second ago and I thought she was calling back. We are going to a Broadway show and dinner next Friday, please tell me you can clear your schedule."

"I can clear my schedule, sure. How much longer for you tonight? Mason just got here."

"About another half hour of paperwork and I will be on my way to the base."

"Want me to send a car?"

"No, Fitz, I'll be fine, really, spend time with Mason I'll be there soon."

"Any word from your dad?" Fitz was still feeling a bit guilty after everything that transpired.

"I've sent a text here and there, he answers back. My mom hasn't said anything, it's fine Fitz, stop worrying. Love you."

"I love you more and no more answering the phone with I love you unless it's me."

Liv's Senior Year (Alabama Prep)

"OH MY GOD, Jazzy got the secluded Olivia Pope out of her dorm. It only took four months." Lonnie, Liv's teammate, was applauding her arrival into the party.

"Not the easiest thing to do, I had to drag her kicking and scratching, but we managed." Jaz laughed as she nudged Liv. "Lighten up, have a good time ok."

Liv looked around Lonnie's apartment. There were several boys there and one caught Liv's attention. He walked over to her. Tall, dark, handsome, and fairly built, no way he was a senior in high school.

Liv tried to walk away, but he called to her. "Hey, wait, wait. You're Olivia, right?"

She turned cautiously to him. "Yeah, how do you know?"

"I read all about you in the paper, your success last year in softball. I play baseball for state in Texas. I am here visiting my cousin. I'm Wade Collins. Let's sit." He pointed to the couch and handed Liv a drink.

Liv had to admit to herself she was a bit attracted to him. Each time he spoke though, she could only hear Fitz and as much as this didn't feel right, Liv wanted to feel something other than sadness.

After a few hours, Liv had left with him to go back to his cousin's dorm. They began kissing, Liv trying to put Fitz in the back of her mind. With each kiss, though, she heard his voice "I love you Livvie" and the more she tried to drown it out, the more she devoured Wade.

Thinking she wanted him as much as he wanted her, one thing led to another. Liv didn't object, felt numb the whole time, nothing, not even close to what she felt with Fitz. Wade fell fast asleep as Liv cried silently for a bit.

She jotted a note to Wade explaining it was nice, but she didn't want to see him again. She left him sleeping there, never to hear from him again. When Jaz wanted the scoop, Liv didn't divulge much information and Wade was back in Texas, not doing much talking himself.

After that night, Liv felt guilty as if she cheated on her husband. She found it hard to look in the mirror at times and every time she looked at Fitz's picture she teared up. She was trying, trying so hard to let him go, to make him part of her history. She couldn't though because each time she tried to make him history all she could think about was their future.

Liv had reached out to Nathan. He was trying his best to find any information about the Top Gun program especially the class that was about to graduate. Liv was expecting to hear from him soon. Until then, she just drowned in the guilt of what she did with Wade and continued to focus on her studies and softball.

Present Day

Olivia sat with Bess in her office finishing up some of the paperwork from the grant. She was eager to finish to get to the dinner with Mason and Fitz. She couldn't stop noticing the inquisitive stares from Bess and Liv had to stop.

"Ok, Geez Bess, you sure now how to make me feel guilty." She laughed. They never did get to have their lunch and Bess was so eager to know more about Fitz.

As they rummaged thought the paperwork, Liv began at the beginning, being able to tell someone else about all the years she held in felt good. After Liv told Bess about the first kiss outside the library, she stopped doing her paperwork and Liv was left picking up the load.

"Ohh, this is going to be good. You lost your virginity to him didn't you." Bess gave a little clap with a screech of happiness.

Liv side eyed her, picking up a few papers to finish. She began writing and talking at the same time. "Then I heard it: "you fucked a virgin, who did you fuck?" Liv stopped writing remembering Simon's words as if they were just spoken.

Bess had both her hands under her chin now. "No, he didn't Liv, please tell me he didn't."

"Oh, he did." She shook her head remembering, but she couldn't be mad at it anymore, not after what they've shared the past month. "Olivia Pope, loud, clear, and proud." She put her head in her hands, pausing her work for a moment, then continued. She shrugged.

"I fell out of the stall, Bess, fell right at their feet, jumped up and ran out, never to see or talk to him again for ten years, until last month when he showed up at this office." Liv looked around still unable to believe how they were reunited.

"And you forgave him? Just like that? I mean I know it was ten years, but wow, yeah, I guess you did you forgive him. That's some love story Liv. He looked just as in love as you are."

Liv finally smiled. "We are Bess. It has been, by far the best month of my life since I met him. My father, well that's a work in progress, but I'm not losing him again, ever, I can't stand that emptiness, that pain."

Bess picked up the paperwork Liv had taken from her side. "Well let's get this nonsense done so you can go have time with your man." Bess shook her shoulders. "Oh, I am so happy for you, good things coming Liv, I can feel it."

Santos opened the door with a brief knock. "Hello ladies." He dropped a pile of files on Liv's desk. "Good news and bad news, we've cleared 12 more students for the program, bad news, here are their files. The information is due at the end of the day, so they qualify for the grant." He nodded his head and walked out.

As Liv and Bess both stared at each other, frustrated, the door opened back up. "Finish those and the two of you have the day off tomorrow, pay included." Santos smiled now and walked out, closing the door.

The ladies high fived and got started. This was no challenge for them, and the time Liv had to make up with Fitz, she was determined to get the day off.

Dinner (with Mason)

Fitz was pacing outside the restaurant when Liv finally turned the corner walking towards the door. She stopped when she saw him and took a deep breath. He was waiting for her, probably worried about her taking the train.

He turned and saw her and walked up the block in her direction. "Fitz, you don't have to…"

She couldn't finish, her lips were buried into his as he greeted her. Standing in the middle of a busy Newark Street, Fitzgerald Grant was kissing her. She felt his hands rub her shoulder blades and she snuggled close to him.

He backed away, rubbing her shoulders. "You were saying?" He smiled, the smirk that melts her heart.

"You don't have to wait outside for me, did you leave poor Mason alone in the place?" Liv shook her head walking now with her arm around his waist, his around her shoulders.

"Hardly alone, he's trying to pick up the bartender. He probably ordered enough drinks to keep talking to her that he may be passed out. Back to your place right, after this? I notified the base; Mason is heading to my place."

"Sounds like a plan. I have a surprise for you too." Liv hinted.

"Mmm, sounds good. I have a surprise for you also, but I also know it's a work night for you, so I won't keep you up late." Fitz lied.

He opened the door to the restaurant as Liv pecked his lips. "Liar." She smiled.

Liv was holding her stomach. Mason hadn't changed one bit. Her stomach was in pain from laughing so hard. He was currently going on about the students at MIT. From erasing a math problem, it had taken two days to copy on the board from walking into the class with a bucket stuck on a foot, Mason had them in stitches.

"For one of the brightest schools in the country, sometimes the students are lacking life needing skills." Mason nodded at Liv.

"Congratulations though Liv, seriously, on all your success at Bama, and at Prep. For only a two-year high school career, you left your mark on the softball program."

"Thank you, Mason, that's sweet of you. Did you follow?" Liv watched as Mason looked at Fitz cautiously.

"I had to, I mean, I would have anyway, but I had to, this guy," and Mason pushed Fitz's shoulder, "wouldn't let a week go by without wasting his one phone call to get your stats."

Liv side eyed Fitz, who just looked at his plate. He was playing with a piece of broccoli as Mason continued.

"The guy is over fighting in a war, a battle every day, but he never stopped asking how the Crimson Tide softball team was doing." Mason gave a tight-lipped smile.

"And what about you Mason?" Fitz tried to break the awkwardness. "Strongest Math Department in the world and you are the head of it. Never did understand topology." Fitz laughed.

"You don't understand topology, but your whole top gun navigation was built on math, you know more than you let on. You're as much a nerd as I am." That had Fitz throw his back in laughter.

As the server was passing by, a patron knocked into her, causing her to spill the water she was carrying right on to Fitz's lap. He jumped up, assuring the server it was fine. He headed to the bathroom to dry it off, leaving Liv with Mason.

"It's good to finally see his true smile again." Mason looked at Liv. "It took him a long time to smile again."

Liv looked at him. "What do you mean?" She knew, but she needed to hear it.

"His heart was in pieces, Liv, and I don't mean to make you feel any guilt at all, that's not my intention."

"I understand, go on."

"From that Valentine's Day ten years ago, he was just secluded. Rarely left his dorm room, that happy go lucky kid was just so sad. He quit everything, basketball, baseball, I wouldn't have been surprised if he stopped ROTC. He rarely smiled, and he just looked like he was in constant pain."

Liv's face was as serious as it could get. She remembered Fitz jumping from campus to campus always smiling always making people smile. What did she do to him? She cleared her throat. "I guess I could've called him, I should've called him, it's just everything happened so fast."

"It's not on you Liv, it isn't. Fitz felt miserable because of what he told Simon. Simon could always get the best of him, but when it finally came to you, Fitz won, and he wouldn't have it. I'm just glad he was able to get through the rest of senior year without killing him and burying the body."

Liv tried to smile, but she thought of how she ruined the rest of what should have been the best year for Fitz. Mason reached over and grabbed her hand.

"He thought of only you. He always asked about you, when it was hard to get information in Afghanistan, Germany, Iraq, or wherever he was, he always asked about you. I never heard someone so in love, so willing to trade their life to be with someone he loves so much. I could only hope to one day find a love like that. It's not a bad thing Liv, it really isn't, and I am so glad the two of you found each other." He patted her hand and let go as Fitz sat back down.

Liv fought to hold her tears back as she looked at Fitz smiling.

"Whatever he said, don't believe it Liv, he just wants a piece of me, always has." Fitz ruffled Mason's hair.

"You two, go, I got the bill, it's the least I can do for letting me stay on base tonight. I am going to try a few more times to get her number, then call it a night." Mason leaned over and kissed Liv on the cheek. "Come up to the MIT campus for a weekend. Oh, and you can bring this guy if you want."

"I'd like that Mason, thank you."

Fitz handed Mason his key. "Don't get me discharged, you hear."

"Yeah, yeah, I hear."

Liv's senior year (softball season)

It was the beginning of softball season. Alabama Prep's first home game was just about to begin. Nathan stood by the dugout as Liv was getting set to glove up. He motioned her over. He looked serious and Liv was worried. She felt for the picture in her back pocket, always did before a game or practice.

"Fitz is in a squadron called the LIONFORCERS. It's made up of 25 pilots. He graduated top in class at Top Gun. He is the commander of the squadron." Nathan was telling Liv.

"What does that mean?"

"It's like an operational unit that flies aircraft."

"OK, where is he stationed now?"

Nathan took a hard swallow. "He was sent overseas. There's conflict in the Middle East. Navy always sends their best Top Gun pilots, and Fitz…."

"Where is he, Nathan?"

"He's fighting in Operation Enduring Freedom. I am not going to have access to how he is doing or anything. It's top-secret missions." Nathan walked away; shoulders slumped.

Liv was called over to the dugout. "Let's go Pope, you're on third, get yourself focused."

Liv closed her eyes as she ran to the field. She looked up to the sky and back down to the ground. Operation Enduring Freedom, she heard Nathan's voice over again. What if she never saw him again?

She remained focused. This couldn't all be for nothing, she thought. She had to believe he would be alright; they would one day find each other again. She heard the cling of the bat and as the ball sped towards her, she gobbled it up and threw the speedy runner out.

She looked over to the stands. They were fairly empty, but she saw him. He was sitting there, smiling, he gave the thumbs up, and Liv smiled to herself. This season would be for you Fitz. And so began her final and senior year of softball.

Top Gun Academy (Nevada)

"So happy you could be here dad, thanks for making the trip." Fitz gave his dad a big hug, more of a support hug knowing the news he just received.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world son. I am so proud of you. You set a goal and you reached it. What's next?" They had sat down for some late lunch just after the graduation.

Big Gerry admired all the emblems on Fitz's uniform, the most recent saying "Top Gun." Fitz noticed him staring at it. He looked down at it then back up at his father.

"I use the wings I earned. I'm being sent over to Operation Enduring Freedom." Fitz looked back down again. He felt a bit numb saying it.

"So soon, wow. Well, you're definitely trained for it. I have no doubt they are sending the best. Who's the commander of the squadron?"

"Me." Fitz smiled.

"Then I have no fear at all. You just make sure you check in every chance you get."

"If you don't hear from me, you'll hear from Mason. He may be easier to get a hold of than you, being on the Senate floor."

"Just watch yourself, and for God's sake, find yourself a wife, will you?"

Fitz looked down. If only his father knew. Under his Navy hat, along with the uniform, he had his picture, one of many of Olivia pinned to it. Only he knew it was there. It gave him the strength and courage he would need to continue his Top Gun journey.

Two hours after arriving to his assignment, Fitz was already engaged in combat way up in the Afghan skies. He had shot down two enemy planes and had guided two of his squadron to safety after one of their engines blew out.

Once everything had settled down for the day, he was able to use a phone set up at the camp. He heard Mason's voice come through, it was a bit of static, but he could understand. It was Olivia's first game senior year, and he needed to know.

"How did it go today, Fitz? I have to say you have me a barrel of nerves here."

"I'm fine, it's all good, it's what I was born to do. How did my girl on the diamond today? They were playing Arizona Prep, Liv was leadoff batter and playing at third base, have you heard anything?"

"She went 3 for 4, two singles and a double. She scored 3 times. They went on to beat the Wildcats in 5 innings 11-0. No errors and two assists. Stay safe my friend."

Mason couldn't see Fitz fist pump in the air. He could just feel Liv was going to have a great year. He entered his small tent. On the small bedpost, he patted her picture. "Proud of you, my Livvie." After a long day of combat and commanding, Fitz fell asleep in the hot desert sun smiling with a thumbs up to his Livvie on third base. He was physically in Afghanistan, but his heart and soul were in Alabama.

Present Day (Liv's place)

After Fitz parked the car, he looked at Liv. "What's going on, you were quiet the whole way. Is everything alright?"

She looked at him, well admired him more than looked at him. She shook her head. "Yeah, fine, just a long day at work. What's your surprise?" She reached her hand over and caressed his face, never letting her eyes leave his.

"You are first. You said you have a surprise." He took her hand from his cheek and gently kissed it.

"I have the day off tomorrow, so it's going to be a long night."

"That is great news. I don't have to be back on base until midnight tomorrow, so we have the whole day."

He got out of the car, went around and opened her door, escorting her out. He's always the gentleman. He grabbed two cooler bags from the trunk and held them up to Liv. I did some grocery shopping for your place. We're stocking up, and I am going to show you my kitchen skills."

Liv laughed and interlocked her arm with his. "Aww Fitz, it's been forever since I even opened my fridge. This is great."

They unpacked and put the things away. Liv popped some popcorn and together they sat ready to begin watching the Outlander series on Netflix. He pulled her close to him. "You sure you ok Liv, you seem distant."

"Fitz, what if I'm not, well, what if I wasn't who you thought I would be when we found each other. Am I who you thought I would be, the person you fell in love with so many years ago?"

"What's that supposed to mean? Liv of course you are."

She put her face into his chest. She thought about him so far away fighting in a jet, thinking of her. All the while she was here, going back and forth with anger and forgiveness. Why did she have to be so righteous?

"Those two nights, Liv, ten years ago, I saw your soul. You opened your heart and your soul to me, and I saw that. You couldn't change if you wanted to, I know the girl, and now the woman I fell in love with, nothing has changed. Well, you did get more beautiful, but you're everything I had thought you would be, everything I dreamed of all those years."

Liv was just staring at him, hearing the words come out. "He quit everything; he was in constant pain." She heard Mason's words, and it scorched her. She wanted him to know how she loved him, how she never stopped thinking of him. She owed him some truth to her life after him.

"His name was Wade." She whispered.

"Pardon?" he hit pause on the remote.

"The first one after you, his name was Wade. He was a sophomore in college, I was a senior in high school. I felt nothing, not a damn thing. I cried afterwards and left him sleeping. I felt like I cheated on you. I never knew how I would go on without you."

"Liv, why are you?"

She fell into him, her lips meeting his. She rubbed his curls, just to pull him closer to feel him more. "Tell me Fitz, just tell me, why do you still love me, what are the things that make you love me now."

"Liv." Was this the insecurity he caused her?

"Just tell me Fitz, please."

"Well," he began as he interlocked her hand with his. "I love when we kiss, and your fingertips just gently caress my cheek. I love watching you when you don't know I am watching you. I love that you can't cook but you can guide a room full of men and make them listen to your instructions. I love that you set a goal and you work triple to reach that goal. I love that you forget where you put your keys five minutes after you put them down, and most of all, I love that you speak your mind. If you want to say it, you will. I love you and I love your whatever happens, happens attitude. You're not afraid Liv, and I love that and so much more about you."

"I don't deserve you. I should've called you, I should've…."

"The past Liv, it's the past, we can't keep questioning it, reliving it, ok. We are together, that is what matters." He pulled her chin up to his lips. He pulled her body close to his, taking off her shirt before their chests touched skin to skin.

She didn't want to think anymore, not after feeling what she was doing to him. She stood up and pulled him up, leading him to the bedroom. They fell, softly onto the bed, no clothes on, and feeling how fragile her emotions were tonight, Fitz gently made love to the woman he loves.

They lay face to face afterwards, Olivia gliding her fingers around his lips. "You bought me eggs, and milk, and bread, and cereal. No one ever bought me eggs, and milk, and bread and cereal."

"I did buy you all those and I bought you chicken and ground turkey. I am going to show you how to cook tomorrow."

"I am going to bring you breakfast in bed tomorrow." Liv said proudly.

"You are?"

"Yep, a bowl of Lucky Charms with milk." Liv watched him laugh a quiet laugh and close his eyes into sleep. She just continued to stare at him, her life in front of her. The life she dreamed of, with the man she dreamed of. She continued to outline his face features with her fingers, remembering how she worried she would never see him again.

Her finger gradually made its way to his shoulder, where she rested her hand and sleep overtook her also.

She dreamed of the time when she was sick in college. She was so sick; she was hospitalized for three weeks and her father was afraid she wouldn't be able to fulfill her softball scholarship.

Even though it wasn't a dream, it was something she hadn't told Fitz yet. She worried she would lose him overseas, but she never wanted him to worry that he may have lost her over here.

She woke up, her dream causing her eyes to open and look at Fitz. He slept so peacefully next to her. She gently rubbed his chest. She wanted to make him feel so good, so weak. She wanted to thank him in so many ways for being him.

Her hand led down further, rubbing his hardening dick. She remembered when she first felt his erection, and now how developed it is from then. He opened his eyes to find her staring at him.

"Livvie."

"Shh, Fitz, let me watch you, let me make you feel good, baby, ok."

He rolled to his back, Liv kissing his chest, down to his abs, down further, as she stroked him and heard his breathing, felt his heart begin to race.

She thought of him, so alone thinking of her, and only her. After a few strokes, she looked at him, eyes closed, hand on her shoulder blades, pleasure all over his face. Her mouth engulfed him, and he felt her warm saliva and had to just moan. "Livvie, God, what are you doing to me."

She positioned herself so she could watch him. She rubbed his chest with one hand while her hand caressed his balls. All the while his hands on her shoulders, just enjoying the feeling. She felt him getting harder in her mouth, and she stopped, just to stroke it, and she heard him let out a small whimper.

He guided her head back, her mouth making contact once again, and he moaned. She stopped once again, and sat on him, hands on his chest, as she sat straight up, him deep within her. He opened his eyes and looked at her, rubbing between her breasts as she moved in slow motion. She was determined to have him come, without her.

Her motion went a bit faster, and she could tell he was close. His mouth fell wide open, and his head tilted back as he moaned, "Liv", and she felt him empty it all inside her. She stopped moving, watching him come down from his high, and it was beautiful.

She let her head fall, grasping his lips with hers, as she kissed him back to reality. "I love you so much Olivia Pope, always have, always will, and don't you ever question it." With the exhaustion she caused his body he turned his head, still with his arm tight around her body and fell back into sleep.

Liv cozied herself into the crook of his neck, still directly on top of him, as close to him as she could be. She had so much to give back to him and this was just the beginning. There was so much more to come with her life with Fitzgerald Grant, and she would never leave his side again.
