So, this is a little mini-chapter I whipped up. I kind of wanted to have fun, and I figured that there would be some response to their adventure at the Midnight Club. Anyway, I also wanted to show the change of everyone teasing them to trying to become their friends.
Funny thing, though this one has no basis from the original story, it was the easiest for me to write in this revamp so far. Hope you enjoy.
The Magic Blog-o-sphere
Angel yawned, hearing a beeping coming from her computer. She knew exactly what it was. Helena trying to reach her. Angel hadn't spoken to her in several days, and her cousin was bound to be worried. Or had a billion of stories to share. Either way, Angel was not ready for that so early in the day.
But, she figured, she was awake and might as well wake up. She stretched her arms, and tried to sit up, only to find an arm around her and pull her back down. Angel's eyes widened. She was in her room, and there was no Trend in the other bed. Had Trend left her alone with someone... she didn't remember drinking the night before, but then again, she had been at a club with free drinks.
"Mama, I don't like pigtails," Angel heard a mumbling behind her. She turned to find her missing roommate.
Then Angel remembered. After dropping Charm off at the infirmary, the girls had returned to the Vixen dorm. Angel was worried about her friend, and after changing into her pajamas, Trend had pulled Angel into her arms to comfort her and assure her that Charm would be fine. They must have fallen asleep.
Angel maneuvered herself from her bed, this time successfully. She walked to her vanity and gasped. While Trend had taken the time to remove her makeup and undo her fancy hair, Angel hadn't even changed. Her hair was sticking up every which way and her make-up was smeared across half her face. She quickly changed out of her dress into a bathrobe and decided to start her day with a long shower.
She opened the door of the suite only to find three boys on the couch, loveseat, and chair. She then remembered that Brandon, Mech, and Marvel had escorted them back to their room. At least they seemed to be asleep. That was until Mech opened his eyes. He spotted her, and couldn't stop his laughter. This woke up the other two boys.
"What's so funny... Angel?" Marvel woke up, then began to chuckle himself. Living on Popularis, Angel guessed that girls there looked perfect when they woke up.
"Morning," Brandon said, standing up and stretching as he had been the one subjected to the chair.
Angel covered her face. "Oh my dragon," Angel said. "This is so embarrassing."
"What, you just woke up, right?" Brandon said. "You think I haven't seen a girl that slept in her make-up? Celeste can barely stay up once the sun goes down, you know that."
Angel could still feel her face glowing. "What are you guys even doing here still?" Angel asked. "Griselda is going to kill you if she sees you."
"Ah, good point," Mech said standing up. "I'm guessing the limo is gone."
"Let's check up on Charm and then catch the first transport back to Red Fountain," Marvel said, standing as well.
"Great idea," Angel said. "Go!" With that, she slipped into the Vixen bathroom for her shower.
The boys were gone when she came back out, luckily. She shuffled into her room, where Trend was sitting at her desk sketching a new outfit idea. Spotting Angel, she smiled. "Slept well, I assume?" Trend asked. "Did you know your bed is like, a thousand times more comfortable than mine? So not fair."
"Uh, thanks for yesterday," Angel said.
"Anyway, I've got to catch the bathroom before Emma," Trend said, then bounced off for her own shower.
Angel pulled on a tee and a pair of casual pants before sitting down at her computer and dialing up Helena.
"Morning cousin," Helena answered moments later. Much quicker than usual.
"You called this morning?" Angel asked, using her towel the try to dry her hair.
"Oh, yes, I did," Helena said. "I heard that you had some fun at a new club last night."
"Um, yeah, I went with my friends," Angel said. She wondered how Helena had heard that she went to a club, but didn't think too hard on it.
"And that you knocked a few of those Hex witches right off their feet," Helena added.
Angel felt her face go red. "How did you hear about that?"
"Oh, it's all over the blog-o-sphere," Helena said. Helena pressed a few buttons sending a website link to Angel's screen. "I think the pictures are fab, especially the one where you're surrounded by fire right before your attack."
"Dragon, my mother is gonna kill me," Angel said.
"Oh, like she wasn't the same way when she was your age," Helena laughed it off. "What did they do, anyway?"
"They, uh, poisoned Charm," Angel said. "We got him help on time and Ophelia said he'll be fine."
"The magic in his blood would have sorted it out eventually, anyway," Helena said waving it off. Her tone changed as she continued. "But, seriously, that Bryony is bad news. Stay away from her."
Angel paused a moment. "What about the other two?" she asked. "Frosty and Ebony?"
"Well, Ebony is boy-crazy," Helena said. "So, really, no worry there. And Frosty, honestly, I don't think she really knows what she wants. What I do know is that she tried to ask Phillip out, like, a hundred times. And we both know how my brother is so shy about turning girls down, so I had to help him."
Angel nodded slowly. She did know that Phillip was quiet, but she hadn't ever really thought of him as shy. "I think I've got major damage control to take care of Helena. I'll talk to you later."
"Not too much later, I hope," Helena said. "Toots."
Angel signed off and dressed quickly. She hoped the other girls weren't awake yet as she crept out of the suite. Maybe no other girl had read the blogs that featured her and her friends getting into a fight at a club. She hadn't gotten more than a few steps down the hall before she heard her name. Daniela came running up to her.
"Angel, did you seriously defeat a few witches at The Midnight Club last night?" she asked. Angel nodded slowly. "Oh, man, that is so fab! You are so the fairy."
"That's funny," Emma said, apparently following Angel out of the room without the princess noticing. "Because, if I recall, just yesterday you were talking about how much we all sucked."
Daniela blushed. "Well, I was just saying it to fit in," she defended herself.
"Do yourself a favor and try not to fit in," Emma said. She slung and arm around Angel's shoulders. "We're heading off to eat."
"May I join you two?" Daniela asked.
Emma glanced down at Angel. The princess stood a little taller. "On one condition," Angel said. "A public apology to be made in class tomorrow."
"Oh, so done," Daniela agreed. "I'll even get on my hands and knees and beg for forgiveness."
"That won't be necessary," Angel said.
"But I wouldn't say no to that idea," Emma said. She laughed and began to lead the way to the cafeteria. "Hey, Angel, do you know what time the boys left this morning?"
"Early," Angel said. "Sometime while I was showering."
"OMD," Daniella gasped. "There were boys in your room last night?" Her hands flew to her mouth.
Angel's face turned red. "Technically, just our suite," she said.
"And it would be great if no one found out," Emma added, giving Daniela a hard stare.
Daniela nodded. "My lips are sealed."
"So, I heard that you girls all went to The Midnight Club last night." The Vixen girls, all sitting on a bench on the quad, looked up to see two sophomores. Angel recalled they were named Saffron and Canary. They were best known for having yellow blonde hair and always wearing yellow dresses in various shades. The biggest difference between the two was that Saffron's hair was shorter. It was Saffron that had spoken.
"How did you know?" Kaida asked. They both held up their phone screens for Vixen to see, showing the same article that showed the girls of Vixen in action.
"You should have totally invited us," Canary added.
The girls all stared at the two. They had been leaders among teasing the Vixen after their fight with Gaea.
"You should pull your head out of your-" Emma began, but Angel cut her off.
"We couldn't have," Angel said. "We were only invited ourselves. We didn't even know where we were going until we got there."
"Not to mention you two eyesores were straight up witches to us," Cicada added.
"When?" Saffron asked, her hand going to her chest as if offended.
"We would never," Canary said.
"Last week," Kaida said.
"Actually, just yesterday," Emma said, standing up. "I'm heading inside."
As soon as Emma was a few feet away, the two yellow-loving girls slipped into her vacated area.
"You know, I think I left my favorite pencil inside," Trend said, closing her design book, which both girls had been craning their necks to try to peek at.
"Wouldn't you know, I'm done with my book," Kaida said, slapping her book closed. "I should get another one."
"It's time to feed my mantis," Cicada said, standing up as well.
"I think I'm the only one with the room key," Angel added. "Sorry, we have to go."
"I see a great friendship in your future," Cassandra said, sitting next to Angel at dinner. It had to be the eighth time someone had tried to apologize without actually apologizing.
"That's funny, I see you with a broken nose," Emma replied before Angel could.
Cassandra frowned. "No, I'm serious," she said. "For all of you." She stood up, then looked at them. "Oh, you didn't think I was coming over here to be your bestie, did you?" She shook her head. "No, when it takes you approximately two days to find enemies in witches, avoiding you seems the best course of action." She started to walk away but stopped. "But, I do see a great friendship in your future."
After she had walked off, the other girls all looked at one another. "She's weird," Cicada said.
