I like to start off and say I don't own RWBY, nor its characters, but I own this world piece and the history that comes with it

Hello again! Next chapter here we go, just quick question. would you rather I upload all current chapters to date day by day or continue with this weekly schedule. The first one just means both versions would be up to date, but I am still writing the next current chapter, while the weekly uploads would let a backlog on this site, so that I would have chapters finished by the time we reach the latest finished chapter. Dumb question probably didn't even ask this right but if you understood and have a preference, then feel free to answer! I'll just continue with weekly uploads if no one says anything to be honest. Now onto the story that probably has ooc characters. Let me know if it does and sorry in advance!

(also the music is light them up by fall out boys, hope Ya'll enjoy!)

Chapter 1: A Meeting Coated in Steel (Ruby Rose)

"Aww man I can't wait to go to the Emerald Forest again!" An energetic high pitch voice-with black carbon/ruby like hair with red tips-softly yelled out.

"Geez sis… We went there last week, not sure how much more "exciting" a repeated trip can get..." A stronger, more fiery confident voice-with a blond mane to match-stated as they held less joy in the upcoming class trip.

"It's not the destination, but more of what we are doing!"

"Can you two numbskulls quiet down! Some of us are trying to listen to the lesson." A more refined but cold haughty tone-along with snow white hair wrapped up in a side ponytail-spoke shushing their two companions as the lecture ran on about Grimm types.

"Chill out Ice queen… you're telling me after all this time you listen to Port's stories?" The confident speaker questioned while shifting their uniform for a better fit.

"Yes! How is that hard to understand!?" The "Ice queen" argued. In a silent retort the blond only waved a hand to the front.

"...Not only was I barefoot and pants-less, but I also didn't have my trusty weapon. But no worries students! I still had those cabbages stored away in my secret pack..."

"Er...there has to be something of knowledge needed in his lessons"

"Sure… keep telling yourself that"

"So... what do you think we're going to be doing this time? Relic hunting? Grimm extermination? Outside spars?!" The energetic redhead asks rapidly seeing a chance to move the conversation back to the earlier topic.

"I think it might be something we'll have to just find out." A calmer elated voice spoke, adjusting their midnight black hair as the blond wrapped an arm around their shoulder.

"Aww, is our resident silent kitty finally participating in girl banter? Guess those smut books you read do have some real-life skills you can pick up." The blond said mockingly.

"They're not smut!" The Midnight haired girl defended definitely not in a manner akin to a cat hissing.

"Sure, whatever you say…"

"Well, I want to know! Maybe we will find something awesome! Or maybe face off against a giant horde of Grimm!" The energetic girl yelled.

"Ah, correct observation, Miss Rose!" "eep!?" The teen turned to see Professor Port face her as he gave a small laugh. "Glad to see your attention is focused on my warring tale. Tell me, how big was this horde of Nevermore I fought? I assure you know, seeing how passionate you are today!"

The carbon/ruby haired Ruby Rose, fidgeted side to side as she shortly tugged on the red cloak she wears, and glances around the room. After a quick four takes she eyes a blond boyish haired classmate holding eight fingers and waved frantically.

"Uhh… eighty?" Ruby whimpered.

"Correct! Glad to see you and Mr. Arc are both paying attention! Now as the horde grows in size I know then and there that…" The two students shared a shiver as class resumed.

As soon as the bell rang, the students grabbed their stuff and quickly made their way towards their respective next class, except for a group of eight as Ruby ran over to the blond male. "Thanks, Jaune for the backup!"

Jaune Arc only sighed as he was reminded of his failed attempt at helping his fellow leader discreetly. "Don't thank me Rubes... We still got in trouble afterwards."

"Better that than embarrassing myself in public" Ruby retorted. "So, thanks!"

The pure energetic and genuine tone Ruby spoke with forced a smile onto Jaune's face as their respective teams caught up.

"Wow lover boy, you started putting the moves onto my sister just after being her "knight in plaid armor"? Better not see any nieces or nephews just yet!" the female blond mockingly said.

"We're Not Like that!" The two yelled animatedly.

"Thats right Xiao-long. It was just our leader being a nice friend!" The second pure redhead spoke a little hastily.

"Yeah! Pyrrha's right. I was just helping since Ruby helped me out in Prof-er Doctor Oobleck's class yesterday!" Jaune also quickly added.

"Mmhm! So don't get started Yang!" Ruby finished completing the trio's speedy defense, not wanting to hear her sister's unending teasing.

Yang Xiao-long only held her arms in a cross under her chest with a Cheshire grin as she looked at the three mischievously, but before she could continue, the snow haired girl interrupted.

"Perhaps if you were focusing on the lesson then Arc wouldn't have to help you!"

"AH!" Ruby yelled out as she was reminded of her early excitement. "It's Professor Goodwitch's class, come on Weiss let's go!"

Weiss Schnee could only gape as her partner held her arm and ran at full speed ahead. "W-Wait you Dolt! Don-t *hurg* use your semblance!"

As the red and white blur sped off, the remaining members only gave a glance as Jaune sighed and followed. His partner, Pyrrha Nikos, gazed at his back affectionately before a voice broke her thoughts. "Still no progress with our fearless leader huh Pyrrha?"

Breathing out her own sigh she looked down as she answered. "No… and I don't know what you're talking about Nora."

Nora Valkyrie, a girl with an electric positive energy and bright orange short hair, looked at her fellow JNPR member with a knowing smile. "Sure Sure, whatever you say Pyrrha!"

Returning her look, Pyrrha's lips curled into a small smile of its own as she spoke, "Just like how you say you and Ren aren't "together-together"?''

To her credit, Nora grew a bit bashful till the man in question came to her rescue. "Now now, we better hurry before we are late. It is Professor Goodwitch after all." The JNPR girls gave each other one last look before they reluctantly continued onward towards their next class. Lie Ren, who is normally quiet by nature with his sorta feminine/thin features along with his signature pink strip of hair, sighed as he contemplated the struggles that duo partners of the team would have to deal with in the future.

Meanwhile, Yang and her partner walked along in comfortable silence, before the blond broke it. "So, what do you think would happen?"

Blake Belladonna only idly gazed at her partner before answering, "Like I said before… We'll just have to see for ourselves before jumping to conclusions"

Yang gave her partner a big grin as she laughed. "Geez, you're such a boring kitty. What happened to Miss Dock exploder eh?"

Suppressing a blush, Blake scowled at her with no real heat, before laughing herself. "I didn't say it wouldn't be exciting, can't have a quiet day with you all."

"Ha! Yup, were just awesome like that" The two picked up their pace as the call time grew closer as the breeze picked up around them and a figure in the background jumped into the forest below.

The wind blowing on her hair, the scent of the surrounding forest, the adrenaline of fast paced movement like a bullet being fired at two thousand feet per second, heh… Ruby Rose enjoyed being a huntress. Especially, when they were doing their job, that being hunting crazy Grimm. You know, if I really think about it… That kinda sounds a bit weird… Despite herself acclaimed treacherous thoughts, she still was glad that she took Headmaster Ozpin's deal. Being a huntress and someone that helps others was always a dream she held to heart, ever since her mother's passing. Nope! No depressing thoughts today… Eyes on the prize! The prize being the reason the students were sent out in the Emerald Forest hunting specific targets. Slowing down a bit, Ruby remembers what Professor Goodwitch told them before the mission.

"Now then! Today's assignment is actually a prelude to your missions later in the year." The beacon deputy explained, gaining the class undivided attention. "There seems to be an increase in Grimm activity in the Emerald Forest due to previous incidents…" She held an icy gaze towards two specific-colored teams which in turn shuffled awkwardly. "Now normally we would send higher years to deal with this as it would be above appropriate first year levels…" She let it sit in as more than a quarter realized the pressure, including Ruby and Jaune. "However our Headmaster, for whatever reasons he held, decided that you should be given a chance to prove yourselves worthy of beacon trainee status, thus you will be the ones hunting." Gesturing them to the nearby bullheads, Professor Goodwitch said one last message to the leaving students. "You may hunt in pairs, teams, or by yourself, but if you need assistance there will be teachers and hunters, myself included, to help out." She gave one final look before dismissal. "Your grade is how you assess yourself, and the situation at hand, do not hesitate in calling for backup due to a fear of failure. Good luck"\

I got this! Time to prove I can do this without Yang's or anyone's help! Picking up her pace again, Ruby located her target, or targets in this case as it was a small pack of Beowolves. Gazing towards her marks, she breathed softly as she counted the numbers. Around 10 or so… piece of cake… Swiftly unbuckling her weapon from her person, that she somehow keeps hidden beneath her cloak, she unsheathed the large scythe, Crescent Rose (her pride and joy), and morphed it into rifle mode. Holding her breath, she set her sights on the farthest Grimm and released the trigger.

BOOM!The resulting round crashing in the scenic zone disrupted the atmosphere causing those in question to whip in the direction of the intruder. All except the aforementioned target, as its head was blown clean off, leaving black blood staining the once pristine grass. Using the beginning hesitation, Ruby launched off her perch and swapped back into scythe mode cutting down several Beowolves before the rest countered the assault. (Clapping and acoustics start as it picks up in beat~ OOOH OH OOOH OH OOH OH OOH.. )

Twirling the instrument of death, Ruby nimbly dodged swipe after swipe as the remaining Grimm fought back. Using her momentum, she slid under another slash as she hit the upward blade first slicing the monster in two. ( Be careful making wishes in the dark, dark. Can't be sure when they've hit their mark, mark...)

Changing targets, utilizing a quick spin caused another dissection of another pair while she swapped back to rifle mode. Pulling the trigger, she blew off another Beowolves' head while using the recoil to launch herself away from an opposing strike at her side. ( And besides in the mean, mean time. I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart…)

Landing on her heels, She swapped back as she dug the blade into the ground to slow her momentum. Alright! five left! Like I thought, piece of cake! Activating her semblance, Ruby rushed the remainder getting another two before sliding under yet another slash. "You know! I think you should choose another strategy if you want to get close! Just a thought!" A little cocky but I mean come on! These guys are weak! Thought it would be a bit more challenging to be honest… (I'm in the de-details with the devil. So now the world can never get me on my level…)

A howl closer than liked, rang out breaking Ruby from her thoughts as she turned seeing another group of Beowolves rushing towards her. "Hehe…" She chuckled nervously, "Guess this is why you never be cocky in a fight, right uncle Qrow?" Breathing in and out she steeled her nerves as she loaded a new magazine into her weapon. Ok! Big girl huntress! Here we Go! Charging in, she swapped back to rifle killing the remainder of the first pack as she reactivated her semblance and striking at the second. (I just gotta get you out of your cage. I'm a young lover's rage. Gonna need a spark to ignite…)

Spinning rapidly, she resembled more of a bullhead's engine than a small huntress as she sliced through multiple Beowolves each at a half decapitation or full. Running with the swings, Ruby moved side to side as the pack surrounded her. (My Songs know what you did in the dark!...)

Taking much larger breaths then before, Ruby changed forms once more to fire a few more rounds. This time, she swapped to dust rounds which held more firepower blowing up multiple targets at a time. Trying to save some energy, she also moved for lighter and faster attacks compared to her normal full hits. It required more swings to kill, but at the speed she goes, was less consuming then going the whole way. She also made sure to keep moving as slowing down could result in an abrupt end. Killing another seven Beowolves, she tiredly looked at her opponents, while considerably lesser than before, still held a decent number against her. (So light 'em up, up, up. Light 'em up, up, up. Light 'em up, up, up. I'm on fire!{X2}…)

Taking account for her ammo reserves and how tired she was, Ruby took a second and planned out a strategy. Ok… Might need to call in backup… Kinda a lot still, plus I'm getting pretty tired. Yup time to leave… Gripping the flare given in case of emergencies, she tried to fire it into the air as a Grimm in her blind spot slash at her back. "AHH!" Sliding like a rock thrown at a pond, she dropped both the flare and Crescent Rose as they were launched out of her hands. She only stopped as a tree broke her momentum causing her to break her air as well. Gasping, she saw as the Grimm moved closer to finish off their would-be prey. (The beat cuts off then rapidly increases again...)

"Ahh cookie dust..." The injured reaper grunted as she tried to get up and flee. She only made it a couple of inches off the ground as she collapsed back down to the floor. Ahh! Guess I sprained my ankle, come on aura work... A flicker of a silverish red glowed around the reaper, before fizzling out. Ah...guess it wasn't just me that was tired...Mom...Dad...Yang… sorry got a bit over my head again… Guess this is why Uncle Qrow tried to drill it into my head… damn it… Ruby closed her eyes as frustrated tears fell. Viciously growling, one of the Beowolves leaped at slashing at the down reaper in an effort to cleaver her in half like its fallen brethren. Yet instead of painful tearing, or anything of death. A gunshot similar to her Crescent Rose rang instead. Daring to look again, Ruby opened one eye as midnight blue hair stuck out. Releasing the other eye, she noticed the masculine figure wearing some kind of armor along with a handgun coated in a peculiar design. "Now's not the time to take a nap, huntress." His voice seemed even, boyish but a bit deep neither conflicting like a sense of balance. (OOOH OH OOH MY Songs Know what you did in the Dark! {X2}...)

Holstering his gun, He pulled out a sword that caused Ruby to gaze at in amazement. Serrated on both sides, it seemed like rows of tiny teeth but in certain angles looked as smoothed as any other blade. Noticing her gaze, the huntsman gave a knowing smile as she looked away with a blush. So, what if his weapon was cool, their lives were still in danger! Ruby tried again to stand up, but the huntsman motioned to sit back down. "Relax… I got this!" With a smirk he turned to the leftover pack as he whistled sharply. "Hey! Furballs!" Smiling at the aggressive reaction he continued. "Why don't we pick on someone slightly closer to your size eh?" "GROWLL/Hey!" Laughing at the duo reactions, he rushed in as steel met flesh slicing through Grimm after Grimm with ease. Spinning the blade, the midnight huntsman sliced off one of the wolves' head from his left, while punching another to his right, wincing a bit before going back to it. Giving a small note of amazement, Ruby could only watch as the huntsman sliced and cut through seemingly with no effort, sliding and dodging only stopping to parry or block incoming attacks. (Light em 'em up, up, up! Light 'em up, up, up! Light 'em up, up, up! I'm on fire! {X2} In the Dark DarK! {X2}...)

With a final spin, the huntsman let go of a sigh as the last Beowolf succumbed to its wounds. An Eerily beautiful picture of black gore and fallen leaves left behind as the wind softly blew around the two. "So little huntress… had a good dream?" (OOOH OH OH~OH OOH OH OOH OH as the rhythm slows and the music fades out…)

With an excited wave and joyful sound, Ruby attempted to rushed towards the huntsman, though winced from her injuries.

"Easy there, your aura is still low. Might want to rest up for a bit. Pretty sure that's the last batch anyways" The violet hunstman stated easing the red themed girl back down.

Ruby for her part, listened and calmly thanked him for his help.

"OmgThanksforTheHelp!SoWhat'syourweapon?HowLongHaveYouBeenAnHuntsman?What'sYourArmorMadeOf?WhoAreYou?CanILookAtYourGun?WhatAboutYourSword?"

The Huntsman only gave a small smile and a confused look till Ruby calmed down. "Hehe! Sorry I got excited…" Taking a couple of quick breaths, she pulled her arm out and started over. "My name's Ruby! Ruby Rose! Thanks for the save back there." Chuckling at her antics the figure took her hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you Rose. But I have somewhere to be… Kinda got lost but no problem, next time pick your battles carefully k?" With a quick turn they took off into the clearing as Ruby stood stunned at the speedy getaway. "W-wait! What's your name at least!?" Catching a small glance back at his grayish violet eyes, the huntsman spoke with a bright smile. "Call me Steel, little Rose!" With a dramatic bow, they fell out of sight as the shrubbery closed view leaving Ruby alone in the Stained Forest. After a bit, she grabbed her scattered gear, where she gave a little smile and a cheerful hum as she made her way back to the rest of the group. "Steel huh…"
