Title: What Would You Do If I Kissed You Right Now Fandom: Naruto Rating: A bit angsty Disclaimer: Not mine. Notes: One of my friends and I were very bored one night, so she decided to pick a random phrase and we would have to write a fanfic with it mixed in somewhere, and she only gave us a half an hour in which to write the story. It was fun, but it was rushed, so the quality may not be that great... and this was my first attempt at fanfic ever... so beware. Please enjoy...

He slanted his eyes at the bright light shining down in his face. As he slowly glanced around at his surroundings, he remembered the rough training he had been going through. Why did it seem to take him more time and energy to learn skills than others? And it didn't matter how hard he tried, she still didn't notice him. Her only thought was for Sasuke. What would it take to get her to actually see him? He carefully clambered to his feet, aware of how sore he was. Luckily he had always been a fast healer.

As he was strolling towards the ramen shop he thought he glanced pink hair ahead. But after he blinked he figured it must have just been his imagination. She was all he thought about lately. Why did he still care for her? He knew he didn't have a chance. There wasn't even the slightest ray of hope for him. After all who was he compared to Sasuke. But Sasuke had never even shown any interest in her. What did she see in him? Ah well, no use in worrying about something that can never be.

After eating he did feel better and he went back to the woods to continue his training. He would definitely master this new jutsu today! It didn't matter how many times he failed he would always stumble back to his feet and try again. As the sun rays began to slant more and more towards the west, he felt the hope diminishing. He had to learn this new jutsu! Why was it so hard for him? Quitting was not in his vocabulary. He just needed to practice a little longer.

The sun was almost entirely gone by the time he was too tired to stand any longer. He lied under a tree and stared up at the stars. "Ah, Sakura, what would you do if I kissed you right now?" His only answer was the wink of a star. Then the picture of Sakura slapping him senseless and screaming at him to stay away, passed through his head. She would definitely overreact.

Was his love really hopeless? Would he lose once again to a guy like Sasuke? No! He would never give up! As he once again pulled himself to his feet, he knew he would be able to do the jutsu. He was going to fight till the very end. Nobody, especially not Sasuke, was going to be able to call him weak. He was not a wimp that would run away, from now on whatever came his way he would face it without fear or defeat. He would see his dreams fulfilled. Giving up hope was out of the question. He would succeed! He would become the best Hokage yet! He would be everybody's hero, till his death.

He would be one person nobody would soon forget.
