Looking at his latest creation baking in the oven, Deidara smiled to himself. This was going to be a delicious dinner! He could just hear the compliments pouring from Sasori's lips, "This is very nice dear."
Deidara sighed dreamily as he leaned against the stove, holding an oven-gloved hand to his heart. Just dreamy. Speaking of both delicious and Sasori however... With a few strides, he could see his husband of many, many years sitting on the couch reading. Sure the man also watched his fair share of television and thoroughly enjoyed his new tablet-ma-bob, but nothing beat having a good book in his two hands. At least, that's what he told Deidara. It was the best.
In Deidara's humble opinion? Turning up his nose, he smirked. The best thing in his hands was his husband; his arms wrapped around him and holding him tight. No matter how many years would go by, it was the best. Just thinking about having his hands on his man; made him downright giddy!
"Hehe Hehe..."
Walking into the living room, Deidara plopped himself on the floor in front of Sasori, silently moving the book up and sliding his head so it instead rested on his husband's lap. Once his face was there and his position was comfy, Deidara pressed his face into Sasori's thighs and sighed, arms letting go of the book as he rested it on his head now. With his arms free, he wrapped them around Sasori's legs, pinning him down in a snake hold- or even how a koala clings to a tree.
He moaned a little. He truly did have the best thing in his hands. He really did.
Sasori rolled his eyes, but still smiled at the loving action and put the book he had been reading to the side, petting Deidara's head instead. The feeling of the long blond locks has been something he had always enjoyed. Running his hands through the long strands of only his husband's hair was, in his humble opinion, the best. Kids these days have nothing on him!
At the touch of his Husband, Deidara looked up at Sasori, casting his blues upwards as his hair was brushed away and out of his face. Sasori smiled and stroked the rough face. His thumb caressing his cheeks, up to the crows' feet at Deidara's eyes as he returned reaction by smiling up at him, deep smile lines near his mouth growing as well as he grinned like a lovesick fool, stuck to Sasori's lap.
The two sat there silently, admiring each other. Deidara holding the one he loved most close, and Sasori reading all the love his husband had to offer off his expression and the years out of the once young face. Yes, Sasori did think that reading a good book was the best thing and had told Deidara that before, but it was second to none in comparison to the face that produced the adoring gaze of his husband. Just seeing it made him giddy. Just a little though.
If they agreed on one thing, it was this. They truly did have the best thing in their hands. They really did.
