A man unlucky in love, Sasori thought being alone was his eternity. Well, if fifty-year-old Sasori could go back to a thirty-four-year-old Him and say what their future would be like, he knew that the pessimistic young man would never believe it. Sometimes he still second-guessed his life, wondering when he'd wake up from this wonderful dream.
Although sometimes days could be a little nightmarish. But didn't anyone who was happy feel that at some point? Life wasn't perfect. Deidara not showing up at work and babying him would be perfect.
Glancing over his shoulder he smiled at the horrendous curse, and his husband's loud thumping footsteps as he ran to the sink. He could see Deidara faintly through the kitchen window, the scowl on his face as he appeared to be scrubbing at his chest from what was likely a coffee spill. Lately due to the changing season, he had been into these sweeter drinks as a treat. Not cutting out his normal coffee, no.
"Auuuugh..."
He watched, squinting to get a better look as he watched Deidara remove his shirt to better scrub the stain. He didn't need to see exactly what had happened, but he could make a fair guess that the blond was a fussy, and sticky mess.
"It probably burned too..." Sasori mused to himself as he went back to raking leaves. Now that Deidara had left his field of vision, there was no reason to fool around. Bending down he picked up a handful of leaves he chuckled, "He really should be more careful-"
Sasori didn't get back up.
"Augh!"
Collapsing using his forearm as a form of support, he fell rigidly to his knees. The pain! His back just- it just seized up! Who cares about the pain from heartbreak and loneliness now? His back!
One hand on his back, ass up on his knees as he rested his face in his forearm, he gasped out for Deidara but-
"Dear lord..." he gasped in pain, "he's going to carry me..."
Still, he couldn't get up on his own.
"D-Deidara? Deidara!"
Nothing.
Sasori seethed. Not in anger but rather in amusement. The one time he wanted Deidara to scamper to him like a bunny and save the day, he was nowhere to be found! Where was this during the first day of school a month ago? He didn't need to see Deidara hiding in the bushes, that's for sure.
"D-Deidara! Deidaraaa!"
There he heard a noise. "Oh thank god..." he sighed in relief at the sound of the sliding glass door from the porch opening. There was no way Deidara didn't see him on the ground from there, especially with how fast the door had been opened to the sound of Deidara being at his side took.
"Babe, are you okay?" He assessed the pose and activity, "Is it your back? Are you dying!?"
Sasori tilted his face away from being pressed into his arm to look at Deidara and froze, "Where the hell are your pants?"
"Well you see, I spilled my latte on myself and got sticky so I went to have a shower but heard you yelling and grabbed a shirt and-"
"And you couldn't put on at least a pair of underwear!?" Sasori shrieked as while kneeling, Deidara's Crown Jewels were a little too close for comfort in this particular setting.
Deidara looked down at his shirt. It was a large one, so what was Sasori complaining about and how did he even know... He glanced down again in between his legs and saw his husband's unimpressed face, "Oops." he hummed as he stood up discreetly. There was no doubt there was a little bit of...spillage. And not like the latte kind.
Carefully he picked Sasori up, but not without him complaining about why he didn't wear pants outside instead of just a shirt, up and brought him inside. He ignored the nattering and placed him on the couch and gave him a quick kiss.
"First off," Deidara grabbed the phone, running his fingers through greying Sasori's hair, "Can I get you anything?"
"Please..."
"Yeah, Babe?"
"Just put some pants on."
-x-
"Just be warned he may get a little loopy on you."
Deidara laughed at the doctor's joke as Sasori swallowed his new prescription, "Is it bad I'm actually a little excited about that?"
Sasori groaned. He knew Deidara was going to laud this over him. He was already doing it after he was carried into the house.
"Perhaps you should be because you're not getting another dose of these. The last thing we want is him getting addicted." The Doctor laughed, wagging his finger.
Deidara scowled at the extra pills and raised his hand in a salute, "I promise you Doc, I will not let that happen, Hot Nurse Deidara is on duty and ready to kick ass, hm!"
The Doctor covered his mouth and chuckled. He cared for all his patients, but Sasori and Deidara just tickled him pink. Such a lovely couple. Being Sasori's Doctor for many years now, he never thought his life would have taken this route. He was happy for the other man. Sasori deserved this happy, love-filled life.
"Thank you for making the short notice home visit, hm."
"It was my pleasure Deidara." The Doctor said, "You feel better soon Sasori."
On the couch, Sasori didn't respond verbally, in too much pain to do anything about it.
One pill in with a little bit of time, that sour boy changed and Deidara quickly noticed.
"Hey hun... bring that fat ass over here."
Deidara glanced over his shoulder from the kitchen where he was prepping Sasori a light dinner. His eyes were as wide as the plates!
"One fat ass coming up, hm." He snorted as he tucked his washcloth into the waistband of his apron.
Looking Deidara up and down, Sasori smacked his lips, "Hey sexy, what...what happened to your other outfit?"
Confused, Deidara moved the apron to the side and showed his clothes underneath, "Ya mean this?"
"Nnnnno. The-the one you wore earlier in the yaaaard."
Deidara chuckled and turned a little pink as he recalled when he ran out in just a shirt. He really didn't mean to flash his husband, especially in such a situation. Apparently, he didn't seem to hate it all that much after all! All it took was a little painkiller to get him to spill the truth.
"You were right, my man..."
Sasori growled at the name.
"Perhaps I should have grabbed pants, not the shirt, hm."
"Psst." Sasori whispered, and Deidara moved closer so they were face to face, "Nudity please."
