When Sasuke woke up the next day, he was disappointed that Naruto wasn't in the bed. He frowned as he leaned up in the bed on his elbows, searching the room hoping to see blonde locks. He sighed before getting up and throwing on a t-shirt and some sweats, lazily heading to the kitchen.
His eyes widened in surprise as he saw the blonde at the sink, washing the last of the dishes that he used to cook up breakfast. "Hey."
The blonde jumped, almost dropping the dish into the sink. He slowly turned before giving Sasuke a sheepish smile. "Uh, hey?"
Sasuke raised an eyebrow in pure curiosity, deciding to take a seat at the table. "What are you doing?"
"I made breakfast." Naruto nodded his head to the plates that were sitting on the counter.
Sasuke glanced at them. They looked to have eggs, toast and bacon. "I don't remember having any of that."
At Sasuke's reply, the blonde gave him a scowl, setting down the plate louder than he meant. "Yeah. I know. How the hell do you eat around here? I had to walk down to the grocery store cause you have, literally, nothing." He sat down next to the raven and took a stab at his eggs.
Sasuke blinked almost owlishly. "You bought me groceries?"
"Mhm." The blonde had his mouth stuffed with food. He sat up quickly, swallowing. "Oh! I almost forgot. You want orange juice?"
"Orange juice?"
Naruto rolled his eyes as he began to open up cupboards, looking for the glasses. "Yes, bastard, orange juice. You know, the liquid that comes out of oranges?"
Sasuke gave him a glare. "I know what orange juice is, moron. I just mean, that's a little much for just some groceries." Onyx eyes followed the blonde as he went to the fridge. They widened as he saw just how full the fridge now was. "How the hell did you get all these here?!"
Naruto began to pour the juice. "I got a cab back."
Sasuke again watched the blonde as he finished pouring the juice and putting it back. He set a glass in front of the raven and one at his space on the table. He raised an eyebrow as he sat down, questioning Sasuke's stare. "What do you want?"
The raven shrugged as he took a sip of the juice. "Just wondering why you would even bother with going through the trouble of doing all this. I'm hardly ever home to eat anyways."
Naruto's cheeks tinted a light pink. "I-i just wanted to do something nice." He turned away, arms crossed. "And besides," he trailed off, mumbling the rest of the sentence under his breath but his face darkened another shade of pink.
At the blonde's reaction, Sasuke leaned forward on the table, a smirk on his face. "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that."
Naruto quickly turned to face him, an embarrassed glare on his face. "I said, last night wasn't the worst experience I've had."
Sasuke's eyes widened at the confession and he sat back in his seat. "Wait. So what exactly are you saying?"
Naruto rolled his eyes and finally managed to control his blush, his face returning to it's natural tan shade. "All I'm saying is that, I wouldn't hate to do this again."
"And sometime soon, huh?" Sasuke smirked. Naruto only returned a questioning look, furthering Sasuke to explain. "There's lots of perishables. I'm not going to eat them, so who else but you?"
Naruto thought it over, blinking owlishly. "I didn't even think about that part."
Sasuke took another sip of his orange juice, feeling superior once again. "So when will you be coming back?"
"Don't sound so eager. Or I won't." Naruto glared. Sasuke chuckled at the response and began to eat his food.
"The food's cold." Sasuke complained, half jokingly. He held out his plate with a smirk.
"Bastard! Heat it your damn self!"
Sasuke let out a chuckle, shaking his head before going back to his breakfast. Cold food didn't bother him too much anyways.
Sasuke lounged impatiently in Neji's office Monday morning, waiting for the brunette to appear so they could talk about their weekend. He scowled at himself for wanting to gossip like a school girl, but he had the best time and wanted someone to know. And Itachi was out of the question.
Somehow, he convinced the blonde to stay over Saturday night well into Sunday evening. And they didn't even have sex, much to Sasuke's surprise, it wasn't even on his mind. At least not that much.
The day was filled with their usual bantering and bickering. But Sasuke learned a lot about Naruto, like the fact that Naruto loved to cook. The blonde cooked more over the course of the weekend then Sasuke ever had his entire time living there. He learned there was a point after moving from Konoha to Suna, the blonde developed anger problems and ended up taking dance classes.
Sasuke smirked to himself at the memory of his relentless teasing of the blonde after hearing that fact.
"What's got you so happy?" Neji raised an eyebrow as he opened his door to see Sasuke practically smiling to himself. He sighed as he threw himself into his desk seat and booted up his computer.
"I had the best weekend. Ever." Sasuke leaned back in his seat as he gave Neji his full attention.
Neji smirked as well, leaning forward. "Oh yeah? I did notice that Naruto decided not to stay."
"Yeah he stayed over both nights too."
Neji's eyes widened. "No way. Two nights? In a row?!"
Sasuke's smirk grew bigger. "And we didn't even have sex."
"What?" The confusion that grew on Neji's face was instantaneous. "Wasn't sex the whole point?"
Sasuke stood up from his seat. "Yeah, it was, but now? I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere with him. Like we're finally making a connection."
Neji sat back in his seat, he placed hand on top of his head as he watched Sasuke. "Well, that's great to hear then."
"You know, he told me he took dance classes when he moved to Suna." Sasuke gave him a smirk, sticking his hands into his pockets.
Neji tried, and failed, to hold back a loud snort at the information. "Somehow, that doesn't surprise me. Now get to work before Itachi comes down here out of suspicion."
Sasuke rolled his eyes but nodded nonetheless. He needed to avoid Itachi, and for as long as possible.
Sasuke's goal of avoiding his older brother didn't last as long as he wished it would, which would be forever. Instead, Itachi trapped him, Wednesday at the end of the day. Sasuke cursed as his office door opened precisely at five, revealing his brother who stood in the doorway, arms crossed over his chest in superiority.
The past two days, Sasuke managed to finish his work ten minutes to five, always narrowing running into Itachi. But today, it seemed everything that could go wrong, did. The paperwork consumed him and he was scrambling to leave at exactly five, but his brother got the best of him. He narrowed his eyes. He knew it was somehow his brother's fault he was running behind today.
"Why, Sasuke," Itachi sauntered in, closing the door behind him. He sat himself down and gestured for the raven to follow suit. With a huff and a roll of his eyes, Sasuke put his stuff back down on his desk and slumped into his chair, resting his head on his fist. "It seems you were so productive with work these past couple days, we never got the chance to catch up after our little get together." A smirk grew on Itachi's face. "But at least today, even though we had all those mishaps, we finally got the chance to talk about it!"
"Yipee." Sasuke muttered, giving his brother a bored look. "We had dinner, I drove Gaara and Neji home. The end."
"Hm, what was that now? You drove Gaara and Neji home?"
Sasuke's eyes widened at his own careless mistake and he sat up in his seat. "I meant Naruto. I drove Gaara and Naruto home."
"Ah, okay, I see. So you had Neji come over then." Itachi knew he caught Sasuke in a lie. Now he was just seeing how far he can get Sasuke tangled up in it.
"N-no."
"Then why didn't you mention bringing Neji home? It's a pretty significant drive."
"Y-yeah, well I do it so often, I forget I even do it." Sasuke crossed his arms over his chest, he covered up his mistake pretty well he might add.
Itachi nodded his head. "I guess that would make sense. The only thing is, Neji already told me he spent the night with Gaara."
Sasuke groaned, mentally cursing the brunette. "Alright, alright. Naruto did spend the night with me."
"Mhm, and what happened?" Itachi leaned forward.
"Not much." Sasuke shrugged. "We just hung out."
"No sex?" Itachi's eyebrows raised in surprise before he smiled. "Why Sasuke, I'm so proud of you! This crush on Naruto is turning you into such a well groomed man."
Sasuke scowled as he watched his brother stand up. "Shut up, Itachi."
"Well, I have more good news for you." Itachi's smile turned into a sinister smirk and a chill ran down the younger raven's spine. "Mother told father about Naruto, and father just about died of excitement that the "little blondie" is back in our life."
Sasuke's eyes widened in shock. He couldn't imagine his father getting excited, let alone uttering the words "little blondie". He shook his head, trying to concentrate on Itachi's next words.
"So, he demands the two of you come over for dinner Friday night. And he won't be taking no for an answer."
