Chapter 3 Exploration & Improvements
A.N. – This chapter was going to be two separate ones, but I decided to combine them as they would be too short. This should be longer instead of what I thought it would be originally. Let's begin!
Short Summary – The Lyoko Warriors have been reunited with Jeremy, through the speaker. He suggests that they improve once they tell him the situation. However, they don't know they are playing into Xana's hands.
Disclaimer – I do not own Code Lyoko. I am just a fan of the show.
"Nice to hear from you again Jeremy!" Ulrich said with relief.
"Yeah, it was a nightmare though" Jeremy told them.
"You think you had a tough time. This world is literally a living hell!" Yumi exclaims.
"I know, but Xana hid it well. I can't find you, so my chances of rematerializing you are pretty slim. But in other words, I know where you are, but the supercomputer can't detect you."
"Where did the big bad wolf put us?" Odd asks.
"Somewhere between the four sectors and sector 5. You're on Lyoko, but also, you're not there."
"Are we in some kind of simulation bubble?" Aelita asks next.
"I'm not exactly sure. Like I said, I know where, but the supercomputer doesn't. So, I can't get a visual of where you are."
"Then how do you plan on rematerializing us?" Ulrich questions.
"That's where you come in. You're going to have to try to punch through the security that Xana implemented and send maybe a quick signal to the supercomputer. If I can detect it, there may be a slight chance for me to rematerialize you."
"One more question: why is all the damage here real?"
"Xana may have tweaked the rules a little, so he can confuse you to what's real and not. But remember the first time Xana pulled this, he could've eliminated you. So, this is probably another situation, and knowing Xana, if he hasn't tried to eliminate you yet, he will soon."
"We know. We are waiting for his return" Aelita tells him.
"And are you ready for when that happens?"
"Not really."
"I don't want to discourage you guys, but you need materials in order to survive this nightmare. Also, you need materials for you guys attempt at an escape."
"It would help if we knew how we ended up in this world?" Yumi says in annoyance.
"I know, but I looked over you virtualization status and nothing abnormal happened."
Aelita sat down and tried to concentrate, trying to remember the moments before virtualization. She suddenly had a vision. She saw her and her friends falling don a pit like structure and eventually went into a white light at the bottom and the next thing she remembers is waking up in this world.
"I think he modified the virtualization program. Whatever he did, it allowed him to virtualize us directly into this world" Aelita explained.
"Then that's your way of escaping. Recreate the phenomenon" Jeremy tells them.
"How? We can't revirtualize our ourselves?" Odd questions.
"You'll have to find the best way to recreate a virtualization like phenomenon and a good source of power that can power it. Once it reaches a certain level, the power will allow me to rematerialize you with the signal you send."
"So, we'll go through another white light when you rematerialize us?"
"Exactly, but for now, try to improve your standpoint. Xana ain't far behind."
"There is a cave not far from here. It might be helpful if we find iron" Aelita tells them.
"Good idea Aelita. If you find iron, you can create a rail cart system. Power that, and you will recreate the virtualization procedure."
The team traveled and found the entrance. "There it is" Aelita says.
"Uh Jeremy, mind telling us how a rail cart system will help?" Yumi asks.
"Defy the laws of physics. If you go fast enough, a signal will punch through. Once that's received it will kind of jump you between time. Kind of like a mini return to the past. You won't remember this whole experience," Jeremy explains to her. "Listen. I can't explain it to you right now but trust me on this."
The Lyoko Warriors descended into the darkness. Aelita used her energy field to illuminate the tunnel. "So, where do we find the iron?" Ulrich asks.
"We search," Aelita responds moving forward. The others following her. "Keep your eyes open. We don't know what's down here."
"As long as we don't run into Xana, we'll be fine" Odd says, ready to fire if needed.
"One does not find him in this world, it is he who finds you" Aelita said with a creepy tone.
"Be careful guys" Jeremy says as he couldn't contact them underground.
After searching for about an hour the Lyoko Warriors found something. Aelita bent down and felt the material. "Iron! Yes!"
Ulrich pulled out his saber and harvested the material. In the end they got three iron ore. "We need more iron" Ulrich says.
"According to how much Jeremy needs for us to build a successful rail line."
"How much?"
"Three rail lines per six iron bars. We got three and we need a big rail line so I'd say about 117 more iron ore and bars before we can complete a rail line."
"You're kidding right?" Yumi asks.
"Yumi, if there is one thing I don't do is kid."
Aelita and the others got of the cave and went home to smelt the newly acquired resources and prepare for the escape. But according to Aelita, they weren't even close.
"So, how did you make out?" Jeremy asks once he notices they're out.
"We found iron" Yumi starts.
"Great."
"But we need over a hundred more for a successful escape attempt."
"You may be using that iron for your weapons or a pickaxe. You got to find a natural power source underground. Not oil or gasoline. You should be able to, but you got to get down deep."
"We just build a mineshaft" Odd suggests.
"If Xana will let us do that" Ulrich adds.
"For now, let's head home and prepare our base for Xana's return" Aelita says.
The Lyoko Warriors return home and take a look at their current base and try to think of how to fortify it to have a better chance of defending it from Xana. Aelita started to envision how their base could look like. She saw a vision of something that could work.
"I say we carve the mountain a little" Aelita suggests.
"Why? That would just give us less coverage. We're trying to survive, not expose" Yumi argues.
"But if we have a descent opening, we can all attack from a higher ground. Sure we may not have coverage, but the higher advantage we have, the more we can defend."
"We can still have coverage. We just create tunnels and a fallback area" Ulrich adds onto Aelita's idea.
"Then let's start working on this. When the time comes, Xana won't know what hit him."
The Lyoko Warriors were all harvesting stone and any other materials they ran across and even created a storage room. Night came and even though the Lyoko Warriors felt like they were being watched, they didn't stop working. As they were heading up, they heard a strange sound, of an entity passing by.
"What…the…hell…was…that?" Ulrich asked, clearly shocked.
"Maybe that was Xana?" Yumi suggests.
"What advantage would he have by just scaring us?" Odd asks.
"Maybe he is just trying to scare us enough to stop us?" Ulrich suggests.
"No, I think he is telling us, he's ready…" Aelita said in a worrisome tone.
"Then what do we do?" Yumi asks.
"We finish."
The Lyoko Warriors continued to fortify their base. Xana was watching them, and he saw that their base could work in his favor. He would wait till they fell asleep to move and come tomorrow, he would return.
A.N. – And now the return of Xana will happen as well as unlock more mystery for the warriors in future chapters. The next one will be focused on Xana's return. The real action happens when we near halfway as the Lyoko Warriors start to try to find ways to escape. Sorry for the delay. Thursday till now was complicated and busy. PM me with story ideas if you have any! Don't forget to review with questions and comments! I will respond! Stay safe and healthy out there! As always, till next time! See ya! -lyokowarrior97
