Finding Happiness Ch. 5

Gemma never drove so fast to the hospital before in her life, and she' had several dozen reason's to over the years. Thomas, John, the other members of the SOA. But now, being called to the hospital because some ATF bastard thought it would be OK to linger in her grandson's room? That son of bitch didn't know who the fuck he was messing with. No one messed with Abel. No one. Putting her Cadillac in park, Gemma made a beeline directly towards the NICU. The breath that she was holding was finally released when she saw Luna sitting in the chair looking just as pissed as she felt.

"What happened?" Gemma was vibrating with anger.

Luna looked up and could see that she was not looking for any sugar coating. "I came into finish up paperwork, figured I would check on Abel, came in, saw Agent Kohn standing over him, I asked why he was here, he showed me his badge said that he was here to investigate the biker gang, asked if I knew anything I'd like to share. I said no. Then I proceeded to explain federal agents can not be in the presence of minors without a guardian and told him to get the hell out of this room. As he left the room, I checked Abel's monitors, followed him, he was speaking with Tara, she didn't want him here, and he said until she comes back to him, he's sticking around to watch the SONs." Breathing everything out in one fell swoop was hard, but she felt that she gave all the information in a precise controlled way. Waiting for her to respond was tense, but she didn't want to push Gemma. The bomb she just dropped was a lot to process.

Sitting down in the chair, Gemma rubbed her temples. "Jesus Christ. That stupid girl, I get that she needed to get away from Charming, but to get into a relationship with a FED, dumb whore." Looking back at the blonde. "Thank you. If you didn't have the brains to get him out of here, or even follow him, the club could have gotten caught with their pants down. I've left a message for Clay. I'm waiting for him to call back.

Luna could understand her frustration. While her parents, have passed due to an unfortunate drunk driver, she knew that if anyone every threatened her like Kohn subtly threatened the baby and the SONs, she was sure that they would have set the world on fire. Family is important. At least that was how her parents made her feel. "I don't want to overstep but killing her while you're angry probably not the best idea. Perhaps at least calm down and make a plan."

Given the situation, it would have been difficult to laugh, but looking over at Luna, Gemma couldn't help but crack a smile. "Fine, I'll keep myself calm for now." Gemma really wasn't a fan of many people outside the club or her direct family. But Luna seemed like a good girl. Keeping an eye on Abel, she couldn't help but smile. "You're a good girl. You know that."

Smiling at back at Gemma. "I try. Look it's a complicated situation you and your family are in, but if I can offer some unsolicited advice?"

"Go ahead baby." Gemma was interested.

"If I, was you, I'd get the hospital HR involved start a paper trail, it would bring attention to Agent Kohn, and Tara. Then I know that you hate this part, but file a complaint with the ATF, because if he is here breaking a restraining order and using his position for personal gain, he'll be reassigned or terminated." Luna looked deep into her eyes. Shrugging her shoulders and turning her attention back towards Abel.

Gemma was a little surprised by the advice she was given, never really considered any of that. That's not how they handled their business, she wondered if Clay would even consider it. They had Stahl sniffing around, now Kohn was here for Tara, if they responded with traditional methods, it could bring more unwanted attention to the club. "I'll talk to Clay." Was all she would say.

Sparing Gemma, a quick glance, "Sounds good." Standing up, Luna quickly looked over Abel, and his vitals, "He's doing well. His numbers are climbing," turning towards the older woman, "if he continues on this trend, I'd say in 30 days or so, we can start the process of him heading home." She couldn't help the smile on her face at the thought.

"Thank god. You're a good girl. You seeing anyone?" Gemma questioned.

Blinking rapidly at the question, she was hoping it was a curiosity question, not a set her up with Jax question. "No. The men that have been interested are a little good ol' boy. Didn't like that I was independent. So, for now, I'm good." Which was the truth, Luna really wasn't looking for anyone. -Especially not one complicate with life like Jax. While he was a great looking guy, he seemed kind, his ex-wife, Tara, and Abel, then you add the club, Jax had his plate full.

Laughing at her assessment, "Yea, some men can't stand a woman that thinks. Well, if you ever need a date, I know a few guys that would at least give you some excitement." Wagging her eyebrows.

Looking towards the older woman, "Ah the fun guy. While fun, not my scene. But hey, if that ever changes, I'll let you know." Looking at the older woman, it was time for her to head home, she was tired. "I'm going to head home, I have tomorrow off, and I'm beat. Call if you need anything."

Gemma looked up at the young woman, she was a good girl, she knew that she would be a great old lady, if not for her son, she would find a good SON for her, someone that would protect and take care of her. "Alright sweetheart, you have a great night, thank you again for everything." She watched Luna leave and knew that she was going to become someone important to her. Hell she was already there, Gemma didn't have a daughter, but she could see that Luna was going to be the closest thing that she would get. Turning her attention back to her grandson, Gemma was going to stay here all night, until she spoke with her husband or son, there was no way she was going to leave him alone. With Stahl sniffing around now Kohn, her family was in danger.

Luna stepped out of the shower, wrapping herself in the towel and made her way to the couch, sitting down she found something to watch, but soon enough the stress of the day and her being tired, she passed out.

Happy was pacing back and forth, the entire club was in the hospital, as soon as they handled the shit with the Mayans, but as soon as the president received the call from Gemma and that they were needed at the hospital. Getting here and finding out what transpired in Abel's room and finding out that it was Luna that confronted the man, Happy was murderous. If that fucking fed came near Luna again, he'd kill him. Looking over at the VP he could see that he had the same thoughts.

Bobby was shaking, he looked over at Clay, "What do we do? Stahl now Kohn?" He was worried, how were they going to get ahead of this?

Gemma stood up, looking around the room, "I have an idea, but it's not going to go over well. I think we need to contact ATF about Kohn, Stahl's here on official police business, but Kohn he's here for Tara, that's personal, it might not make him leave so to speak, but it would at least pull his support for ATF. Then you can deal with him." She knew that it was a wild card to talk about business in front of the club, but she's earned her place next to Clay, so that was what she was banking on. At least to be heard. Once she finished, she looked around the room, could see each one of the boys were absorbing the information, she sat back down, she said what she said, now it would be up to them to take it under advisement.

Happy looked at Gemma, it was a weird thing for her to suggest involving the cops, but she wasn't wrong. Kohn's bosses probably had no idea that he was here. Turning to the Prez, "She's right, pull his support here, keep Tara away from the club, he'll realize that we aren't going to get involved he'll do what he does, but it won't be a club issue." He still wanted to gut him and show him his insides, but for now, he'd let the system work in their favor.

Everyone was quiet, no one would have expected that from the Killa. Clay looked over, "Anyone else?" he asked the rest of the club. To his surprise, they all agreed that Gemma had the best plan. Once they all agreed to leave Tara to her own devices, Clay made the call to the Chicago ATF office, and to say that they were pissed was an understatement, they guaranteed that Agent Kohn was acting of his own accord, that they will send someone to collect him and bring him back to Chicago.

As he finished up the conversation, the smiles that were on the SONs made the drama of the day disappear. Clay looked around "One down, one to go." Turning to his queen, "Where's Luna?"

Gemma felt relief, at least now he wouldn't have the support from ATF, hell even Stahl would avoid him, he'd be a blackhole on her career. "She said that she was heading home to sleep." Gemma knew that Clay wanted to keep her close, she was becoming valuable.

"Alright, give her a couple more hours, and get her to the house, I think it's time we get to know the girl, perhaps a dinner." He knew that Gemma like the girl, so this would be an opportunity to see if she would be a good friend to the club. Looking over at some of the guys, he knew it was a matter of time before they started trying to fuck her, the only thing he was going to say to her was don't cause problems within his club.

Luna woke with a start; someone was banging on her door. FUCK. Not even bothering grabbing a shirt, she wrapped the towel a little tighter and quickly peered through the doors window. Standing on the other side was Gemma. Opening the door, she knew that she needed clothes, "Come on in, I'll go put some clothes on." Stepping aside she let Gemma into her home.

She couldn't keep the smirk on her face, "You do that sweetheart, put some cute clothes on, you're coming to a family dinner. I'll wait here." She watched as Luna made her way towards her room. Looking around the house, Gemma could see that it was clean, welcoming, not overly girly, but not bland. The girl had taste. She didn't have to wait too long, Luna came out of her room dressed in pair of light washed jeans and a black tank top, her hair was brushed, and she had a little eye shadow on, taking in a glance down to her shoes, she was wearing a pair of black booties. She looked cute. "You look good sweetie. You ready to go?"

Grabbing her keys, "Yea. Let's go." Following Gemma out the to her car, they drove towards the store and did some shopping, Luna noticed that she was picking up a lot of beer and meat, seems like the boys will be coming over too. "So, I have some questions, you mind filling me in?" She asked. Grabbing a few items Luna figured she'd make her chocolate cake.

Giving her a quick glance, "Shoot baby." Rounding the corner aisle, they ended up standing in line for the check out.

Moving forward, "Is there a particular reason I'm invited to dinner?"

"Yea, you've looked out for Abel, you didn't do it for any other reason than you saw that he needed you. We want to get to know you, and you know us."

Luna digested what was said. "Sounds fair." Once they were checked out and heading towards Gemma's house, they quickly unloaded the car and brought it inside. Soon enough the women were working in tandem getting everything ready for dinner. They worked well together, Gemma explained what she wanted for dinner, so they split the chores to make everything go by quicker, soon enough the sounds of motorcycles that were pulling into the driveway made Luna look up. "Do you ever get use to that?" she asked.

Pulling out the pot roast out, Gemma saw that Luna had the corn, mashed potatoes, and salad already placed on the table. "Honestly, I'm so use to it now I don't even notice it." Smiling at the table Gemma has had help from some of the ladies before, but never had anyone that she didn't need to micromanage, it was nice to have someone in the house that she could depend on.

Happy and the guys were piling themselves into the house, the smell of fresh food was mouthwatering. Gemma knew how to take care of the guys. It was something that many would not admit, but it was nice to not only have a brotherhood, but also someone that made it feel like a home. Gemma was the goal, she was a great old lady, understood the club, took care of people. He wondered if Luna was that type. He could hope. Looking around, he could see that Gemma and Luna were already seated at the table, he zoned in on her. Walking over, he sat down right next to her, as the rest of the guys took their seats around the large table.

Clay went around the room, introducing each member. Each guy said their hello's, but it was Tig that gave her the creeps, his intense blue eyes stared through her, he was sitting directly across from her.

"Hey doll, when dinners over how about you and me get acquainted." He said.

Quickly looking around the room, they were waiting for her response, they wanted to see what kind of person she was. Giving her best smile, "Sorry, but I got plans later." Turning her attention back to the table, the rest of the night was filled with questions about herself, getting to know the guys, Luna really had a good time, but soon enough it was getting late, and she was ready to head home. The guys already went outside to the porch, Gemma brought them beers, and Luna was finishing up the dishes, she already cleaned off the table, so Gemma didn't have much to do.

"Thanks for doing that sweetheart. You didn't have to." It was surprising, out of all the women that have come through her home, only Luanne was the only one that showed any respect without the threat of an ass beating, even Donna; Opie's wife she didn't like the club, and when she was over here you could see that she wanted to be almost anywhere else. "So, you have plans tonight? Or were you just saying that to get Tig to back off?" She generally was curious, she hoped that she wasn't seeing someone, she could see Jax, or Happy settling down with her, that was just depending on who got their head out of their asses first.

Drying her hands off on the towel, "No plans, no offense that one is a little creepy." She didn't want to offend the queen, but Luna wasn't about to lie.

Gemma laughed, "He is, but he's loyal to the club, so there's that." Tig was very much a good guy, but he was damaged.

Luna smiled at her, looking at her watch she could see that it was almost 11. She knew that she had to get home soon because tomorrow she was going back to the ER, she was happy to get out of the OB/GYN. "Gemma, I've had a great night, but I need to be getting home I have an 8am shift tomorrow in the ER. Do you think you can give me a ride, or should I call a cab?" she asked.

Happy heard every bit of the conversation, he was glad that she was lying to Tig about having plans, because when those words left her mouth, it took every ounce of his control not to flip the table over and toss her over his shoulder and give her lesson that she would never forget. Walking into the kitchen, "I'm taking you little girl." With that he looked at Gemma and saw the knowing smile, giving her a slight nod, he saw that she wasn't upset with his subtle claim on Luna. But he knew that if he didn't make the claim public, she would be fair game, and he knew that Jax was looking at her.

Grabbing her keys, she turned to Gemma and said her goodnights. Seeing the guys on the porch she waved goodnight and followed Happy towards his bike. Giving him the directions towards her house, she jumped on the back, wrapping her arms around his waist, she couldn't help but feel how strong his abs were. Wow. Impressive. Feeling the night breeze was nice against her face, never being on the back of a bike before, she understood the freedom that it brought them. It didn't take them long to get to her house, and soon enough she heard the bike turn off.

Happy quickly got off the bike, he looked at her and back at the house, "Let's go inside." Turning towards the door he started up the walkway. He knew that he was leaving her speechless, but he honestly didn't give a shit, she was going to be his, it would be better if she got use to that idea now.

Luna opened her door and walked in with Happy behind her. "I'm not sure what you're expecting here, but I'm going to bed."

Looking down at her, "Shut up little girl. I'm not fucking you tonight, so get your ass ready for bed. I'm tired too."

Without any more words, Luna walked down hallway towards her room, Happy staying in step right behind her, she grabbed her pjs, and headed towards the bathroom, quickly brushing her teeth, she reached under the sink and grabbed a spare leaving it out for Happy. Stepping out in the room she could see that he was just finishing up undressing. Her eyes damn near popped out of her head, he was built covered in tattoos, he was sexy as hell. Getting control of herself, "I put a toothbrush out for you if you want it." Grabbing the sheets, she pulled them back and climbed in, she watched as he went to the bathroom. Snuggling herself deeper into her sheets, she started pondering why the hell he was here, this was not how she thought that her evening would go, but never one to question the universe too much, she set the alarm on her phone and got comfortable in bed.

Happy finished up and headed back into the room, he saw her laying in bed and quickly joined her. He knew that there would need to be conversation at some point, but for now, he was going to bed with a beautiful woman, he'd worry about the rest of this shit another time.
