Finding Happiness Ch. 17

Slowly waking up, Luna stretched her body across the bed, as she popped her shoulders, her eyes opened to the room. Carefully sitting up, she looked around and saw that Happy was gone. Not really thinking much about it, she headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Jumping in the shower started the process of washing her hair, as she looked at the shampoo bottles, she couldn't help but smile at them. Happy told her it was time to start keeping at least a weeks' worth of shit there, incase they needed to spend extended time. Rinsing out the conditioner she couldn't help but laugh at the fact that he knew. Finishing up, she shut off the water and grabbed her towel.

Stepping back into the bedroom, she started to put a pair of jeans and the SAMCRO tank top that Gemma gave her. When she was dressed Luna took the time to straighten up the bathroom and the room, she like Happy enjoyed having her space neat. As she was making the bed, she saw the note on his pillow.

NOTE

Handling shit with the club, stay at the clubhouse, if you need to leave take a member with you.

Stay safe Little Girl.
Happy

She couldn't help but smile at the whole thing. It was usually her leaving him notes. Happy wasn't overly sentimental, so she grabbed her backpack, and placed it in for safe keeping.

Her stomach growled and she knew it was time to start feeding herself and the other animals that were residing in the clubhouse. Taking a final look around she grabbed the clothes off the floor and put them in the hamper, after breakfast she'd wash their things, so all he had to do is come back and relax.

Walking down the hall she could see a few people were up and moving around, it was Piney that she caught drinking his tequila with a straw. Luna adored Piney. He was so rough around the edges, but he was kind to those that he considered family. "Old man, you hungry?" she asked him.

Looking up from the table that he was sitting at. "You know it sweetheart."

Walking up to give him a kiss on his cheek, "Alright I'll start getting breakfast started. The table and shit from last night is still set up?" she asked him.

Nodding his head, "Yea, Gemma told the Prospect that if he tried to take it down, she'd shove her boot up his ass."
Barking out a laugh, Luna could picture that, and his face. Gemma may be an old lady, but she was not to be messed with. Hell, she kept members from all charters on their toes. "I can see that." Looking around she found a couple croweaters sitting around drinking coffee. "Alright ladies let's get breakfast going." With that she hugged Piney one more time and headed towards the kitchen.

There were 3 women in the kitchen working to get breakfast going, Luna was pleasantly surprised, most of the time they seemed to want to give her a little attitude, not that it really bothered her, she'd handle her shit, but she was sure that it was Donna standing up for her that started the change. Perhaps when it happened, it told the girls that the Old Ladies were sticking together. Whatever the reason, she honestly didn't care, as long as they gave her respect, she'd respect them. Looking at one of the girls, "Can you start bringing out the paper plates, napkins, and silverware?" she asked.

"Of course." Luna watched as the little brunette grabbed everything and walk out to set up.

It took about 2 hours of cooking to get all the pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, and biscuits ready. But with the girls helping her in the kitchen, she was able to keep it all warm and fresh and have it set out. As she was sending the last bit of food out, she saw Gemma walk into the kitchen. "Morning Gem."

Taking a sip of her coffee, "Morning baby." She could see that Luna has been hard at work most of the morning, "Why didn't you wake me?"

Handing off the last bit of the breakfast gravy, "Because I need to be able to run this, until Jax get's a good old lady, no one is going to take care of this family more than someone that loves it like their own."

Gemma walked up and gave her a hug. "I'm so happy that you're with Happy, but in moments like this, I wish that you and Jax could have hit it off. But at least he has you like a sister."

They walked out towards the table, and life was breathing back into the clubhouse and people were waking up from sleep to the smell of food. "Yea, I can imagine, he's had 2 shitty old ladies in his life. I promise the next chick he brings around, if she isn't even halfway decent, I'm slapping him upside his head."

Pulling her into a hug, "Good, I think he's tired of me coming down on his bitches."

Luna couldn't help but laugh, as they reached the table all sat around, Gemma taking the head of the table. Looking around she could see smiling faces. This was one thing that Luna had always wanted, was a big family, as she looked at each person, member, wife, kids, while it was a complicated family, it was hers. Everyone was enjoying their food, all too soon, it was time to clean up.

Donna started making plates for the guys that were not here, making sure that when they got back, they had something. Gemma had the girls clean up; Luna oversaw entertaining the kids. Currently right now she had about 5 kids. She was currently holding Abel, and the other kids were coloring and playing video games. After some time, the parents of the little monsters, leaving just Abel with her. She knew that Gemma was busy handling Office work for the shop, Donna was sitting with Opie and the kids, wanting to get the little man somewhere quiet she took him to towards grandma's office, there was a beautiful, shaded area right next to it so if she wanted to grandma could peek out and see him.

She changed his diaper and held him close. It didn't take him long to fall asleep, Luna kept him on her chest and leaned back. That's how Gemma found her, dozing off.

Gemma saw that Luna was holding a sleeping Abel, it was the sweetest thing that she's seen in a long time. Taking out her phone she snapped a quick picture of the two of them. She was going to let her doze off until Abel woke her up, but the roaring sound of the bikes coming back did that for her. She saw her eyes open, smiling down, "You and Happy going to have one of those?" she said pointing to her grandson.

Standing gently as to not wake him. "Maybe one day. We haven't honestly discussed it." Turning her head towards the sound of the bikes.

Making their way towards the boxing ring, "Well it could happen accidently. Like with Jax and junkie whore." She said.

Laughing at the description of Wendy. "No, I use Nexplanon, I still have 3 years before I get it removed." Luna was not ever going to take chances, while her first boyfriend was sweet, it was just puppy love. Her college sweetie was great, he was studying to be an engineer, and he was the white picket fences guy stay at home wife type. That wasn't for her. Now with Happy, while she did want a family, she knew that until they both discussed it, getting pregnant unexpectedly would just cause too much stress for them both.

"Wow! That's smart, keeps you from forgetting it one day." Gemma liked that Luna thought ahead. Giving the fact that Happy has neve mentioned kids to anyone, it was probably a good idea. "Have you talked about it though?" she asked.

They watched the boys put their bikes in their spots, "Once, it was before we got together; we were in Abel's NICU room, he said one day he wanted one, he asked me, I said someday. That was the extent of it." She knew that eventually she would sit down and have that discussion; it really wasn't the right time. Hell, he just talked about putting on his crow. She was good if it took some time. She was only 24, it's not like she was pushing 40.

When Happy pulled up and saw Luna his heart swelled. He wouldn't ever admit it out loud in front of his brothers, but he was comfortable enough within himself to enjoy how she made him feel. Looking at her hold Abel, he knew at some point they would try. But for now, he was happy with just the two of them. As she got closer she could see the questions in her eyes, knowing she was concerned about Zobelle. "It's finished." Was all he needed to say to her.

She felt instant relief, giving Abel a little hug, "Good. So can we head home?" She asked. Not that she didn't enjoy spending time at the club, after a stressful 48hrs she wanted to be in her home, surrounded by her things with Happy.

"Yea, but I want to take you somewhere." He told her.

Lifting her eyebrow, "Where's that?"

Kissing her forehead, "Surprise. Now give Jax his son, and let's get going."

Jax smiled at his brother, it was amazing what the right woman can do for a man. In his heart he hoped he'd find that too. Carefully taking Abel from Luna, "Be safe brother. See you later tonight." With that Jax took Abel to his dorm.

Happy grabbed her and headed towards his bike, once situated he took off and headed south. After about an hour of traveling, he finally pulled up to a nursing home. He saw her look of confusion, "I want my ma to meet you."

Trying to keep a stupid grin on her face, "I'd like that." Taking his extended, "What is her name? You don't talk about her often."

Walking towards the front door, "Marie Lowman, and until you, she was the only woman I love, she's dying, she has stage 4 liver cancer. So, she's got a couple months, if that. I want her to know I did something right in my life." He wasn't one to be overly sentimental, but sometimes, he knew that she needed to hear that she was important to him. Opening the door, he walked them to the front desk to get them signed in. Never letting go of her hand, she kept in step with him.

Luna was ecstatic, she was finally going to meet his family, she knew that this was important to him, in this moment she was a little sad though, while she wasn't sure how her parents would have reacted to meeting Happy, she wished that they were around to try anyway. She watched as he knocked on a door and slowly opened, she let him enter first, then she followed behind him.

Entering the room there was an older Spanish woman, she was sitting in a high-backed chair, from what Luna could see, she was crocheting. She watched as her eyes lit up when they landed on Happy.

"Oh my mijo, how are you today?" She asked.

Happy leaned down and kissed her head, "Good ma. I brought someone I want you to meet." Pulling Luna forward, "Ma, this is my love, Luna. Luna, this is my ma. Marie."

Luna took a step forward, extending her hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Marie." She was surprised when the older woman pulled her down into a hug.

"You're so beautiful, and sweet. My mjio is lucky." Letting go. Marie looked at the young woman, she was beautiful, but so young compared to her son, she didn't look like the other women she's seen at the club, so there's that. Indicating for her to sit down. She was not going to miss an opportunity to talk to a woman that her that Happy brought to her, this has never happened in his entire life. "Tell me about yourself."

Luna sat across from her. It didn't take too long to explain her life, it didn't take a genius to figure out that Happy never brought anyone around before. "So, I picked up a dart and threw it at a wall, it landed on Charming. I've been living there for about a year now. It's an interesting small town. It took a bit, but eventually the town started to except me."

Marie smiled. She was smart, hardworking. She seems to understand the life that Happy leads. Looking at her son, "She's your old lady then?" she asked.

Happy was sitting on the bed through the entire conversation. He was thrilled that his mother was getting along, he knew that his mother would give her a chance. "Yea ma. She's my old lady."

Looking over at her son, she could see the love in his eyes. She never thought that it would happen. "Good, I was starting to wonder if you'd ever find someone." She remarked.

Rubbing his face, if this was anyone else, "Ma!"

Luna couldn't help but chuckle. Which earned her a dirty look. Holding her hands up, "Don't look at me
like that Lowman." Turning back to Marie, "Of course he would find someone, he just didn't want to settle."

Looking over at his woman. He couldn't help but smile at her. "No. Why settle when I got the best girl out there." Shaking his head, all this sappy shit. It was only for her. Looking at his ma, he could see that she liked her.

They spent a couple hours talking, Luna hasn't laughed so hard in her life, she knew that Happy was not loving the stories about his childhood, but he was a good sport about it. He let the women talk about almost everything, but he knew it was time to start heading home. Standing up, he looked at his ma. "Time to head out Ma, come back next week as always?" he said.

Standing up, she grabbed her son, whispering in his ear, "I'm happy for you mijo, don't do anything to let this one get away." She kissed him on his cheek. "I love you my Happy."

Returning the kiss. "I love you to, Ma." Stepping back, he watched his mom reach out to Luna and give her a big hug.

Luna smiled, hugging her back, to her surprise she whispered something into her ear, "I love my son, I've never seen him so happy. Thank you for that mija."

Stepping out of the hug, "Thank you Ms. Marie." Grabbing a pen off the table she wrote down her contact information, handing it to her, "If you need anything, I'll come as quickly as I can. OK?"

Another kiss, then she and Happy were walking out the door. Rounding on the bike, she looked at him, "Thank you for this."

Kissing her, "You're welcome." Mounting the bike, they both placed their helmets on and headed back to Charming.

Luna enjoyed the peaceful ride back, her time alone with Happy was precious. He was always trying to make sure that while he still handled his club shit, he would always give her any free time they had together. It was one of the million reasons she adored him.

She saw that they were pulling up into the clubhouse, it wasn't as crowded as it was when they left, but she didn't think it would be, she was tired. She knew that he would be too. As he backed in his bike, she got off, and put her helmet on the backseat. Enjoying watching him move, she couldn't help but stare as he dismounted his bike.

His body was exhausted, he could see Luna waiting for him. Reaching for her hand, he walked through the clubhouse, with a slight greeting towards his brothers, making his way into his dorm room, he quickly stripped down and laid on the bed, pulling her with him. Wrapping his arms around her, he knew he was about to pass out, "Love you little girl."

Letting her body melt into his, "Love you too."

Soon, both were sleeping soundly. Happy protectively keeping her wrapped up, even subconsciously he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.
