Finding Happiness Ch. 21
It couldn't have been planned better, just like everyone thought, within 2 days of Luna's visit to the prison Stahl came in there with this sob story of not really wanting to be there for the SONs she was just assigned the case, blah blah blah. To say that she was pissed was an understatement, she tried her subtle threats against Luann, which didn't work, she left Stockton pretty pissed off. Or that's how Otto relayed the message to Jax.
Now the clubs only concern now was for Luna, her information was already on the prison logs, they were sitting around inside the clubhouse talking about it, Luna smiled; telling her family it was covered.
FLASHBACK
"Jax, please relax. I took care of it." She said trying to keep him from freaking out.
Clay looked up, "How so Luna?" He asked. Voice with curiosity and concern.
Looking around the clubhouse she could see all their faces were etched in concern. It made her feel so loved.
"After my shift the second day at the infirmary, I went to the Wardens office, and requested that I be let go for my shifts. He naturally asked why, I explained that I am dating a member of the SONs and I didn't know that one of the patients that I was going to see was a member. He agreed that could be a conflict of interest and signed the necessary paperwork to release me. I apologized saying that I honestly didn't know, he understood. Once I was in the parking lot, I called St. Thomas and let them know about it, HR had me sign some paperwork saying that I can't go back until Otto is no longer an inmate at Stockton." As she finished, she could see the different levels on the faces around her. Most of it was impressed the rest was shock. Internally rolling her eyes. She let them process the information.
Jax started laughing, to the point that he had tears coming down his face. "Jesus Christ Luna, you really are a smart bitch."
Looking at Happy, she could see his love and pride oozing off him. While she loved the fact that she had the respect from the other members, she enjoyed seeing it on his face. A little archaic, but honestly, she didn't care.
END FLASHBACK
Finishing up some charts, Luna was focused on getting to the next patient, seems like a little 5-year-old stuck a Lego up his nose. Heading towards the room they were in, she quickly assessed the situation, it was something that she could do down in the ER. As the little boy calmed down, Luna was able to extract the offending object.
"Alright, Josh, no more things up your nose, OK?" she told the little guy.
Looking at his parents, "Kids do some weird things, his nose should be fine, maybe a little sore, so Tylenol if needs it. If there is nothing else, I'll have the nurse get you your discharge papers. Have a great day."
Putting the information in the charts, she was about ready to go grab another patient, but as she made her way towards the nursing station, one Agent Stahl was standing there with a shit eating grin on her face. Luna watched as she indicated for her to come over. Walking over was surreal thing for her, it was almost like Stahl was sending out "I got you vibes." It took all of her will power not to roll her eyes, Luna guessed Stahl pulled the prison records and thought she had her backed into a corner. Oh this is going to be fun.
"Agent Stahl how may I assist you this afternoon?" she asked.
Stahl watched the young woman in front of her, she didn't give anything away. It frustrated her, she was hoping that she would catch this girl slipping, but she was like a rock. "Let's go somewhere private."
Luna didn't want to be alone with her, while she could keep her cool, she knew Stahl wasn't above lying. "I have a bunch of patients to see, so please. Just speak."
Bristling, she knew that she didn't have a reason or the authority to make Luna comply. "Why were you in Stockton for two days?"
She was right. How predictable, you're not exactly Sherlock Holmes. "Because I needed extra money, I'm planning a trip next year to Alaska, and the hospital didn't have an overtime available." Which was true.
Staring Luna down, she was trying to intimidate her, but it didn't even rattle her, "So, the club didn't ask you to go and talk to Otto Delaney?" she pressed.
"No. I didn't even know he was there." She answered.
Stahl was getting frustrated, "You expect me to believe that?" her voice raising.
Luna knew that she was on verge of snapping, good. In front of the whole ER, ATF goes nuts. "I honestly can't tell you what to believe, I've never met him, I didn't know him, and no one of the club ever mentioned him, but as soon as I realized he was Luann's husband and a member of the SONs, I reported to the Warden and my HR."
What, she didn't have this information. Why didn't she find it? "BULLSHIT!" she yelled.
She could see that now Stahl had an audience, keeping her face cool and collected. "Agent Stahl, I'm not here to convince you of your job, but you can check with the Warden and the hospitals HR department, after my shift at the Prison infirmary I filed the necessary reports. I even signed an agreement with HR stating until Mr. Delaney is no longer an inmate, I can not go back." With that Luna took a step back. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work. Have a good day Agent Stahl." Turning around Luna barely made it a step before she felt herself being spun around.
"LISTEN to me you biker whore, I'm not going to play games anymore. Your story better check out. Or else." Her body was seething.
The desire to break her arm was great, but she wasn't going to rise to the bait. Looking around, she could see that Sharon was walking towards them, "Get your hands off me, Agent. I have done nothing illegal, and I reported myself to the proper parties." Shaking her arm out of her hands, "If you'll excuse me." Luna made a beeline towards the Nurses lounge; she needed a moment to calm down.
Taking a seat at the table. She felt another person sit down with her, looking up, it was the head of the Hospital. "Are you OK?" she asked.
"Yea, I'm fine, seems like Agent Stahl found out I went to Stockton, she thought I was going for SONs, but I honestly didn't Sharon. I filed the reports like I should have, when I realized there was a conflict of interest." Looking into the older woman's eyes. "Am I going to lose my job for this?"
"Oh no. Ms. Erickson, while I don't understand your relationship with the SONs, it has never impacted your work, they aren't here causing issues within my hospital, you've passed the random drug test, so in my opinion, what happens in your personal life is your business." Sharon wasn't a fan of the SONs, but Luna was a great ARNP, she wasn't going to lose her because of an over indulged cop comes into her ED.
Letting out a breath that she didn't know she was holding, "That's good to hear."
Standing up, "Give yourself a minute and then back to work, patients to see and all that." Sharon left her to take a moment to collect herself. While she was on her way to contact the local ATF agency and file a complaint on that woman, coming to a place of business and damn near assaulting one of her staff. That was not going to fly.
Luna pulled herself together and headed back out to the pit. She was not going to let that bitch effect patient care.
CHURCH
The club was sitting around getting the information they needed on the Aryan's. Happy was excited, it's been a while since he killed someone. He was itching for some blood. Looking over at the Prez, "What's the plan?"
Jax looked around the table. "A strategic assault, if we cut off their supply, they fold. Mayan intel has 2 stash houses that need to be hit at the same time."
"I'll pull satellite images to check the area, and do a cursory sweep tonight in the van to see if I can find any camera's or anything like that before we go in." Juice said.
"I like that, take the Prospect with you." Jax said. Rubbing his beard, "His 1-year is up, tonight, how we all feeling about him patching in?" Figured kill two birds 1 crow.
Everyone chimed in, everything coming out was positive. Nodding his understanding. "So, all in favor of Half-sack getting his patches?"
A resounding YES was heard through out the room. "Anyone against?" he asked. Not a sound was heard.
"Tig, go get him."
Standing Tig opened the double doors, "PROSPECT GET IN HERE NOW." Keeping the door open they all watched the kid double time it in there. Most of them had to look away to keep from laughing.
As the doors shut, Jax kept his face cold, he didn't want to give it away. "Take off your kutte." He said with no emotion.
He watched as Half-sack eyes fell, but instead of whining or being a little bitch, he carefully took off his Kutte and laid it on the table.
Nodding at Juice, a knife slid across the table. "Take off those Prospect patches."
Kip was disappointed, he thought that he proved himself towards the club, but he didn't bitch or complain through out his year, he wouldn't leave like a crying bitch. Grabbing the knife, he carefully took off this Prospect patch. Once done, he slid the knife towards Juice. Standing straight, he waited for Jax and the club to tell him to get the fuck out.
Happy watched him, he was handling it well, looking around the room, he could see that his brothers were thinking the same thing, this solidified the vote for YES. Reaching behind him in the cabinets, they kept his Patches, looking at Jax, he could see him nod. "Good, no put these ones on." Dropping the Reaper and SONs member patches on his Kutte.
Looking up he stared at each of the guys. "Seriously?" he asked. Half with disbelief, Half with
relief.
Hitting the gavel, "Welcome to Club Half-sack." Hitting the gavel again, the room erupted with cheering and patting him on the back.
Never in his life had he felt more accepted. Knowing that he would do anything to protect his brothers, he nodded towards Jax and thanked the rest of the Club.
Calling and end to Church, the club walked out towards the bar. Kip went and grabbed some needle and thread, and in front of the club began sewing his patches on. It took a good hour or so to finish, but once done, Jax stood up and held up the kutte to be put on.
It didn't take long for the alcohol to start flowing, "Don't worry Half-sack, we'll get a proper party going by Friday, have Tacoma come down, you've earned it." Bobby said to him.
Giving him a man hug, Kip enjoyed his drink. He knew that his brothers would throw him a party.
Happy watched as the young man's face finally show a sense of relief, he was glad for the kid. Enjoying having his brothers joyous made him smile, that didn't happen to often. Downing his shot, he turned towards the door and saw that Gemma and Donna came in. He knew if they were here, it was either good, or something happened.
He watched as they approach Jax, and by the look on his face, it wasn't good. Making his way towards them, "What's going on?" he didn't want to be around bush.
Gemma looked around making sure that only the members were there, not seeing any hang arounds or sweet butts, another quick scan her eyes landed on prospect, "Well congrats baby," taking a deep breath, "I got a call from Charlie, seems like Agent Stahl paid Luna a visit, he didn't have a lot of details, but the head of the hospital was making a call to ATF about her grabbing Luna. That's all he knows, he tried to get Luna to talk to him, but unfortunately the ER is slammed, and she's neck deep in patients. That's why he called, he said he owed you Happy for handling that gay hater a while ago." Gemma wasn't worried, she knew that they were in the clear, but it bothered her that she went after Luna.
Happy was still. When he finally was able to speak without exploding, "What does that mean, grabbing her?"
Gemma could see that he was on the verge of losing it, "I don't know, he wasn't there to see, it was just water cooler gossip. Before you head down there, let Luna reach out, you know she will as soon as she can."
Happy knew that Gemma was right. "Fine, I won't head there, but" Looking at Jax, "We need to handle Stahl, like she needs to die. We can't let this bitch keep coming back." With that Happy headed towards the dorm room. He knew that right now he wasn't ready for his brother's support.
Luna pulled into the garage and immediately went inside. She went looking for Happy, seeing everyone standing around, she could sense something was off. "Everything good?" She asked.
Gemma jumped up and hugged her, "We got word that Stahl came after you. We were waiting for you to get here to let give the update."
Looking around the room, she could see concern, "Where's Happy? I don't want to go into it without him here."
"Half-sack go get Hap." Jax ordered.
Luna saw that he was wearing full patches. "He got voted in. Good. When we get a handle on this shit, we are throwing that kid a hell of a party." She heard Happy yell at who ever was at the door, and soon she heard him heading down the hall. When her eyes locked on his, the stress of the day fell away.
He walked up and pulled her into a hug. "Tell me little girl."
Going into detail, Luna explained everything, "Last I heard was that Sharon was calling the ATF to make a formal complaint about Stahl. She grabbed me when I walked away. I didn't react, but I wanted to get with you guys to see if you think I should file a complaint as well?"
Happy was beyond furious, his eyes locked with Jax, it was time to get rid of Stahl. "She needs to die."
Everyone was unanimous in that decision. Everyone understood that it needed to be handled. Jax looked over at Luna, "Contact a lawyer, file a formal complaint on her, lets get a paper trail going. Until then we need to find everything we can. Juice, get into her personal life, hack I don't care how, but get it done, and keep it clean."
Juice nodded, "I need to get near her phone, for at least 5 minutes, I have a cloning program that will pull all her cellphone information."
Jax looked around, "Juice get to the station, call in that favor from the lady secretary you've been banging."
Turning back towards the dorm he grabbed his gear and headed out to the station. He was excited that he was getting to use his skills. Not too often the outlaw life and hacking intersected.
Jax watched Juice head out of there, looking over at Happy, "We good?"
Happy hadn't let her go since he walked into the bar, "Yea, we good. Just figure out a way out of this Prez." Grabbing her hand he headed outside, he wanted to sit in the fresh air.
Luna followed him towards the ring, sitting down on the table she watched and waited for him to speak. Knowing that this was going to be a long night. She watched at his hit the bag a few times. After the 10th time he hit it, his eyes focused on her.
Happy was upset that Luna kept getting pulled into the darker side of the club. "This isn't fair to you little girl." His heart was breaking with the thought of her running away from him and this life. He wouldn't know what to do if she couldn't handle this life. "Don't run from me little girl."
Luna was shocked, "Happy, I don't care what happens with the club or Stahl. I'm here." Lifting up her tank top, showing him her crow tattoo. "When you gave this to me, I took it as me getting my version of a full patch on a kutte." Walking close to the him, "I'll stand by you Happy, until I can't breathe."
Wrapping his arms around her, "Thank you little girl."
Several hours passed; and Juice was parking his bike and was bouncing with excitement. Rushing in, he saw that Jax was sitting at the bar. "I've got something."
Jax smirked. "CHURCH" he bellowed.
