Author Note: I received a few PM's about the last chapter and about Happy not wanting kids. I know that the characters had a conversation one time at the beginning, but I felt that Happy's character wouldn't respond well to surprises or unplanned events. Sorry if this upset some, but as Kurt Sutter once said, happy endings are for porn and Disney movies. I'm not saying it won't fix itself or I may take it in a whole new direction. But I must write my story the way if plays out in my head.

Finding Happiness Ch. 28

Staring at her ceiling for most of the night, the sleep she was able to get was short and filled with anxiety. Knowing that she had shit to do, Luna got up and headed towards the shower, normally this was her favorite part of the day, but today she was just going through the motions, she spent the entire night awake thinking about what the hell happened, her only conclusion was that Happy must have heard her conversation with Gemma. Stepping out of the shower, she wrapped a towel around herself, and went to the closet to get dressed.

As she looked around for something to wear, she wanted to be comfortable, grabbing a black tank top and jeans, she got dressed and headed out to this living room. Looking around, she set to work on cleaning up the house, going from room to room, until she got back to her bedroom. It took several hours for her to deep clean the house, now she was just staring at the bed, a wave of anxiety washed over her, she wasn't going to let this pull her under, she couldn't, she still had things to do. Shaking away the crippling desire to curl back up in the bed, she stripped it down, and brought the sheets out towards the laundry room. Setting the washer to get everything started, she headed back to the room and started cleaning it, after another hour her room and bathroom were cleaned. Taking out her new sheets that she bought a few days ago she made the bed, there was a calming presence that the sheets didn't have Happy's scent on them.

Thinking about that, she grabbed the Febreeze and sprayed down the whole house, she knew it wasn't going to fix the problem that she was having but it made her feel better that she could get her house to smell the way it did before his cologne and leather permeated her senses. She needed a clear head, she knew what needed to be done, but it wasn't going to be easy, she needed to have her wits about her.

The day pressed on without him coming home, she knew that he wasn't going to show until the morning, she was half surprised that Gemma hadn't come barging over, but she was grateful, she didn't have the ability to keep herself together if she showed up. Not really wanting to go to the bedroom and lay in the bed alone, she curled up on the couch and grabbed a blanket, while it was a better rest than the night before, it was still not enough to keep her the unsettling feelings from creeping up.

As dawn crept in on her face, she sat up and used the bathroom, once she finished washing her hands, she finally turned on her phone, perhaps it was immature for her to keep it off, but she needed time to come to grips with everything, and honestly, she just needed to make up her own mind without any outside influences. Mostly thinking about Gemma, she loved her family too much, and if she could try to fix everything for her, it was an amazing quality but right now, she didn't need someone to fix it for her, it was something that only she could do herself. Rubbing the back of her neck, she tried to relieve the stress that was building up there.

Looking down at her phone she could see a few missed messages from Gemma. Each one getting more violent then the last, it brought a smile to her face. Reading the last message from this morning.

TEXT:
Luna, if you don't answer me, I'm going to stick my size 9 boot up that ass.

Sorry Gem. Turned out my phone died; I didn't realize until I went to bed last night. So, to answer your questions, not pregnant. I have a few things to handle this morning, but I'll call you later tonight, get together for dinner. My treat.

Fine. Don't let that shit happen again. I was about to call your old man and harass him. I'll see you for dinner around 5. Love you.

Luna clenched her eyes, keeping herself from crying.

Love you to Gem.

Looking at her watch, she could see that it was already noon. She was starting to wonder what was supposed to happen, was she supposed to call him and be like come home we need to talk, or just let him come at his own pace, realizing that if she texted him, he'd get the impression that she had the abortion, and come home expecting everything to go back to the way it was, but she knew it couldn't.

Perhaps someone was looking out for her, she could hear a motorcycle coming up the road, knowing that she couldn't hide or turn away from this.

Getting up, she quickly made her way to the bathroom, looking at herself, she was grateful that her eyes weren't red and puffy, she let a brush go through her hair so that she didn't look like a scarecrow. Hearing the door open and shut, she looked at the mirror one last time, "You got this. You need to do this." Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself and made her way out to the living room. Looking at him, she could see that he was still angry. Not knowing what to say, she just stood there, waiting.

Happy watched her, he could see that she was sad, and hurt. She was waiting for him to speak.
"You take care of it?" that's all he wanted to know. The only answer he would accept was yes.

She was taken back by his course words, that's all he wanted to know, if she had an abortion? Not, hey, I'm sorry for coming off as a dick, I didn't mean to snap at you, I was taken by surprise. Honestly that's all she really needed to hear from him. Over the last 24hrs, she thought long and hard about what she would have done if she was pregnant. While she was pro-choice, she knew that she had means and the ability to do it, with or without him, so she wouldn't have made that choice, no matter what the consequences of that would have been.
Steading her breath, he honestly thought she was pregnant, and right now he didn't deserve the truth of the fact that she's not. This was a moment a woman in any loving relationship looks forward to, being able to tell the father they were going to be a family, it was supposed to be a joyous thing, but he would have robbed her of that joy. He fucking threw money at her like she was a common whore. He betrayed her. It was worse than him fucking on a run in her eyes, sex she may have been able to forgive, but to just treat her like she meant nothing to him, what the fuck was all her loyalty to him if when in a moment that she needed his her turns on her like she was nothing to him. No. Hell no. FUCK No. Clenching her jaw, she was about to open her mouth, but again he cut her off.

"JESUS FUCKING CHRIST LUNA, I TOLD YOU TO GET RID OF IT!" he yelled. Bitch thought he was playing. Nah, he wasn't going let anyone try to control him. "FINE, keep it. I don't fucking care, but don't you dare come looking for money or help, you want it, you keep it. As for this," pointing between them, "this is done, I'll get my shit later and be out." With that he walked out of the house and headed back to the clubhouse.

She didn't even bother to call after him, as much as she loved him, she wasn't going to beg him to at least shut the fuck up and listen. Twice, he yelled at her and walked out, not even letting her say shit. She could have yelled at him, but that would probably have resulted in him either slapping her or throwing shit. Not in her home, not ever. Hanging her head, she finally let the tears fall, before she didn't want to cry until she knew what was happening, now she knew, he betrayed her again, treating her as if she was some common whore, she knew that he wasn't like Jax or Opie, but she honestly thought that their time together had at least earned her some of his respect, but obviously not.

With a task in mind, Luna headed towards the garage, looking around she found a bunch of flattened boxes that she used to donate things through out the year, grabbing a few, she headed towards the bedroom, it took her a few minutes to assemble them, but once they were, she headed towards the closet and started putting his shit in them, while she had the urge to set them on fire, she honestly didn't know what he would do to her if she did anything, she didn't want to risk becoming a smiley face tattoo on his body. It took 3 boxes to get all his clothes, and gear into them, heading towards the bathroom, she grabbed all his stuff and carefully placed them in the last box.

Stacking them up nicely in the living room, she grabbed a pen and marked them what they were. She couldn't help but see the irony that she was treating his shit with more respect that he showed her in the last 24 hours. But she didn't have time for being petty, she was a fucking grown up. If he wanted to be a dipshit, that was his business. Her father told her once, No one has the right to walk all over you, because if you let it go one time and they haven't done anything to prove they changed they'll continue to disappoint you. She didn't want to live in a world where he could do and say what he wanted, and consequences be damned.

Another wave of anguish rushed through her body, triggering more tears to fall, she couldn't control that, but she wouldn't let him reduce to some blubbering bitch. Wiping her face, she mourned her loss, and possibly the loss of the club, she knew that Gemma wouldn't abandon her, but it meant no more family dinners, no more Friday parties with Donna, Jax wouldn't want drama at the club. But more than that, seeing the look of satisfaction on the whore's faces rubbing it in her face that they were fucking him again, nah.

Going through the house, anything that was his, was placed in the last box, by the time she was done, she could hear knocking on the door. FUCK. Gemma. She completely spaced that she was going to dinner with her. Wiping her face, she didn't bother trying to hide her sadness, Gemma would snuff it out anyway.

Walking over to the door, she checked to make sure it was Gemma, seeing that it was, she swung the door open, "Hey Gem."

Taking one look at her friend, "What happened?" her voice filled with concern.

Not wanting to have this conversation in the doorway, she indicated to come inside.

Gemma looked around, boxes were piled in the living room, seeing one box open, she could tell it was Happy's shit. "Luna, you're scaring me, what happened."

Sitting on the couch, "He left me Gemma. He fucking left." Saying the words out loud tore at her heart, but she couldn't let this moment break her. Looking in her friend's eyes, she could see that she was trying to wrap her head around it. Luna took a deep breath and explained it to her, as she was talking, she could see Gemma's emotions going from pure sadness to raging fury. "He didn't even let me talk the second time Gem, he just told me it was over. He'd grab his shit later and left." Saying everything out loud was almost cathartic, while she was still in pain, hearing everything come out of her mouth just made it easier to digest.

Standing quickly, "MOTHER FUCKER." Turning towards her friend she wanted to help, "Maybe if you told him that there is no baby? He'd calm down and come home."

Luna thought of that, she really did, "Gem, if JT or Clay would have thrown money at you to get an abortion like you were some one-night stand, and not let you talk before ending your relationship, would you honestly beg for them?"

Gemma thought long and hard, sitting back down, while she loved them, she wouldn't tolerate being treated like a whore. "No baby. I wouldn't." Not knowing what to do, she leaned against the couch and placed her hand on her friend's shoulder. "What do you need from me?"

Exhaling, "Just don't leave me Gem. I know things will be different, but don't stop being my friend. I can handle missing family dinners, and club functions, but I couldn't handle not seeing you, Donna, or Luann."

She didn't think of that, while she could invite Luna to her home, if it was a family dinner and Happy was there, Jax being president could just put a stop to it, not that he would, but it was his job as President to keep the drama within the club to a minimum. "You'll never lose me; I promise you that. I'll come by all time and bring Abel; I'm sure Donna will bring Ellie and Kenny. Luann, she loves you just as much, hell you mean a lot to us."

A fresh wave of tears flowed down her face, "I really needed to hear that Gem. I honestly did." Shaking her head, "So, dinner. Let's head to the diner." Standing up, she looked over at her friend, with a small smile. Taking out her phone she sent Happy a text.

TEXT:

I'll be out of the house for a few hours, your stuff is in the living room in boxes, leave your key.

END TEXT.

Gemma was impressed, most anyone else would be a mess on the floor, but Luna was standing tall. She was proud, hell when JT was running off to Ireland with that little gash, she had to deal with her dying toddler while he was getting his dick wet, she didn't fall, she didn't falter, she kept her head up, and while it hurt, she couldn't let Jax see her break.

Offering to drive, Gemma stewed over the information that she just heard from Luna. He threw money at her. She knew that if she started shit within the club, Jax would have a fucking shit fit, but right now it wasn't about handling Happy, it was taking care of her friend, being there for her, but she didn't survive 20yrs at the top of the biker food chain by being an idiot. She knew that she would have to slowly recruit members of the club, she needed to do this strategically to get the club to still back her, while they would stand with their brother, she needed to make sure that they wouldn't turn on her. While she might not be inside anymore, she wouldn't be left out in the cold.

They ate and had good conversation, the entire time Luna kept her spirts up, she knew that it was going to be a long road back to normal, but she was going to make it, she was stronger that he obviously thought she was. As the waitress came back, Luna handed her the cash for the bill and her tip, looking over at Gemma, "Do you mind stopping at the hardware store. I need to get a couple locks. I'll be changing them when he gets his shit." Looking at her friend she could see her face fall, "Hey, don't worry you'll get a key. But I need to start the process, ya know?"

Driving towards the hardware, "I get it sweetheart, are you really ready to shut that door?"

Luna really had to think about the question, while she would like to say that maybe down the road, she and Happy could work things out, but she couldn't live in a world of fairy tales, she knew that he would deep dive into the first pussy starting tonight, god knows how many others after, she wasn't going to be taken a fool for. "You and I both know that he won't come to apologize before he's 30 bitches deep in pussy. Would you let Clay treat you that way? Honestly?"

Putting her car in park, she looked over at her friend, while she and Clay had their fights over the years, he never fucked a bitch out of revenge or punishment, he let her vent her frustrations and they would try to find a balance and work it out. Sometimes it took a few days, but she trusted that he wouldn't do that to her. "No. I don't think I could." With that she stepped out of the car and followed Luna into the store, it didn't take her long to get a couple locks for all her doors. She watched with great attention how Luna got what she needed.

On the drive back towards her home, Luna had a deep sense of dread, she new that he would have already come back and pickup his shit or he would come at his own pace, and that wasn't going to work for her, "Gem. If Happy hasn't picked up his shit tonight, can you come by the house tomorrow morning and bring it to him?"

As they pulled into her driveway, Gemma looked over, and smiled, "Yes baby. I will." Exhaling her cig, she looked at the door, "Do you want me to come in?"

"No, it's fine, if he comes in tonight, he'll ignore me, and I have work tomorrow, I don't have time for childish bullshit." Leaning over, she gave Gemma a hug, "I love you." Reaching into her purse, "Spare key. For my new locks. I'll have them changed by tomorrow night."

Gemma smiled. "OK baby. Goodnight. If you need anything you call me." Gemma watched as Luna walked into her house. As soon as she watched her door close, Gemma picked up her phone. After two rings, "Otto, you with Lu or at the Lot?"

"Home, why?" Otto could sense something was wrong.

"I'm swinging by, I need to talk." With that Gemma hung up and headed towards Luann's. It was time to get her plan in motion, she would do everything she could to keep Luna protected by the club. First Otto, Clay would stay out of it; but support his wife, Bobby, and Jax. She knew that the brothers would not get too involved, but if she could at least get them not to shun her, she would always have protection. She wouldn't let Happy take Luna from her. She owed her so much.
