Finding Happiness Ch. 32
Jax couldn't believe the damage he saw as he rolled up on the stash house, the house was engulfed in flames, turning towards Chibs, "Call Opie, tell them to head back to the clubhouse, we have her." He could hear is him talking to Opie and was not concerned with anything else, he could see Luna standing there, getting off his bike he made his way towards her, his was beyond pissed at her, she could have gotten hurt. What really bothered him was that she didn't come to club for help, didn't she trust them?
Almost upon her, he could see the sadness behind her rage, her heart was broken, he wanted to yell at her for being so fucking stupid, but he couldn't do that right now, pulling her into a bear hug, he couldn't help but growl at her, "Are you OK?" he asked.
Her face was buried in his chest, she didn't want to cry in front of the guys, but the feeling of warm arms and a heartbeat broke her, "He killed Charlie. He killed my best friend." She cried out.
Holding her tightly to his chest, he looked at the men around them, each one had their own version of sadness marred on their faces. Before he could say or do anything else he could hear another set of bikes coming up, turning his head a bit, he could see it was Tig and Otto. Checking the perimeter, he could see a young Spanish guy fireman carrying someone on his shoulders, looking at Alvarez, "Who's that?" pointing towards the young man.
Alvarez watched the reunion with interest, so she was Teller's old lady, made sense, a President needed a strong woman. "That's my son Esai, I have no idea who's he's carrying. Your lady was the one that took him out."
Jax's eyes got wide, pulling back a little bit, "Darling? Tell me everything."
Luna gently pulled away from Jax and took a step back, she watched as Esai dropped the guy next to Darby's unconscious body. "I snuck into the house, he was not paying attention I put him in a choke hold, he passed out, tied him up," pointing to Darby, "brought that MONSTER outside, beat him like the animal he was, was about to kill him, until they rolled up." Indicating towards the Mayans.
When they rolled down the street, he didn't see Luann's car or her truck, "How'd you get here?" he asked.
Letting out a long sigh, "I stole it from the NORD at the Dog. Didn't want anyone seeing Lu's bright red car, or my truck if there were camera's."
Esai was impressed, not too many people would be able to think like that. Rage or no. "Not too bad, Chica." He said. That earned him a glare from the SON's, not really caring, he just shrugged.
Otto was standing next to her now, he pulled her into a deep hug, he could see that Jax was not pleased with that, rolling his eyes, tough shit kid. Wrapping his big arms around her, "Why didn't you come to the club Luna?"
Another round of tears flowed down her face, she didn't want to soak his shirt, stepping back, she wiped her eyes, "I'm not an old lady anymore Otto," looking at Jax, "I didn't think the club would handle it because I'm not with Happy."
Jax was pissed, "I don't care if you're an old lady or not, you're family, you come to us with shit." Stepping into her space, locking eyes with her, "Understand? This doesn't happen again."
Luna could see that Jax was on the borderline of snapping, "I understand." She really didn't want to push her luck, but she did come here for justice, pointing at Darby, "If you're not going to let me kill him, will somebody, please?" she asked.
Jax turned to the club, they all nodded, "Yea, we got it." Turning his attention to the scene in front of him, "Untie that fucker, wake up Darby, we're going to make it look like a play for power that just went horribly wrong." Looking over at Alvarez and Esai. "Thank you."
Nodding, "No problem ese," stepping forward, "if she's not anyone's old lady, I'd make her yours, before you lose her." With that he stepped back and headed towards his bike. Seeing his son mount his bike they gave a cursory nod and left the SONs to their business.
Stunned to get that advice that Alvarez gave him, he shook it off, he needed to handle this shit first before he dealt with his feeling for Luna. Turning towards Luna, "Where's that truck?"
Keeping her arms around herself, "It's the green one down the block, keys are still in it." Realizing that what they were doing, "The guy at the Dog said that all the crank was stored there, he was trying to give it to me."
Jax couldn't help but smile, she was very smart. "Chibs, get Juice on the phone, tell him to get rid of the crank, make it and that shithead disappear." Turning back towards Luna, pulling out his prepaid, "Want to call Happy?" he asked.
Shaking her head, while she would never disrespect him, she wasn't involved anymore, he didn't have a right to her business. "No, but can I call Gemma?" she asked.
It still surprised him that she was over it, not wanting to be that guy that moved in on a brother's ex without proof that it was over was dangerous. "He's your old man, Luna." He told her.
Luna was pissed, she wasn't going to through her business out there, she promised Happy that their business was not going to be shared with anyone, Gemma only knew because she was there right after. As she went to say no again, it was Otto that stepped forward.
"He lost that right Jax, you know it, he's been telling every whore or member that he doesn't have an old lady for 2 months after their breakup, and I heard the conversation between them last night, he admitted it, Opie heard it to man."
Luna gasped, looking at Otto, "You heard everything?" she asked, mostly the embarrassment.
Jax could see that she wasn't pleased with that, "What did he do to you Luna?" he demanded.
Luna shook her head, "Jax, I can't. I promised Happy that our business would be ours, I can't do that." While she wasn't with him anymore, didn't mean she was going to blab their shit to the world. She wasn't built like that.
Shaking his head, he knew that she was loyal to everyone, but this was bullshit, turning his attention to Otto, "Tell me."
Her eyes were wide, she looked at Otto, her eyes begging. She could see the rest of the club standing around listening. "Jax, please." She begged.
Hearing how scared she was about it getting out only made him want to know more, turning his attention away from her, he focused on Otto.
Otto looked around he could see that everyone here wanted to know, and it was time that Happy answered for his shit. He looked at Luna, she could see that it was out of embarrassment not fear.
"Luna, you did nothing wrong, he did." Turning towards Jax, "He thought she was pregnant, and I guess before she could tell him there was no baby, he screamed at her, and threw money at her to get an abortion. I'm assuming he left the house and when he got back a day or so later, he yelled again, thinking that she didn't have it, and told her that it was over, and she wasn't his old lady. And you know the rest because he's been at the club since."
Luna felt her face turn red, she just wanted to crawl into a hole. She wasn't mad at Otto or even at Jax but hearing how he treated come out of someone else's mouth just made the whole thing that more embarrassing and degrading. Turning her back to the guys she stared at the crumbling houses. She didn't want or need their pity. She survived it, she moved past it, she didn't need anyone making her feel anyway about it.
Tig was beyond livid, while he wasn't particularly close with her, she was always nice to him, and even fed him from time to time, she was good to them. Walking up he put his hand on her shoulder, "I'm sorry about that Doll." Stepping back, he knew that Luna didn't want their pity, but he would give her his support.
Jax stood there frozen, the last time he felt so angry and crazy was when he went to the DOG after hearing that where Wendy was getting her crank. He was a President now; he couldn't just go half-cocked on his brother. He knew that Luna was upset, probably at him, but right now he didn't care, he's glad he knew. It helped him know how to proceed with her in the future. Not wanting to stand around hold his dick, he turned to the guys, "Let's get this shit handled and head home."
Luna watched as got everything prepped, looking down at the phone in her hands, dialing Gemma.
"Jax you have her? Is she OK?"
"I'm fine Gemma."
"Luna! Oh god, are you sure you're, OK?"
"Yes, I'm good. I'll be heading that way in a minute, meet you at your place, if that's still OK?"
"Of course, baby. I'm gonna let you sleep, but when you wake up, we are going to talk, you hear me."
"I know, I love you Gem."
"I love you baby."
Hanging up the phone, she saw that Jax was looking at her, she walked over to him handing him the phone. "I'm sorry, Jackson. I didn't mean to go off the rails."
Taking his phone back, "I get it. You need to trust the club to take care of you, but more than that, trust me. I'll always protect you."
Tears fell down her face, "I know that, now." Stepping back, she headed towards the bikes, she knew that as soon as this was done, they'd want to head back. Leaning on Otto's bike, she watched as they finished staging the scene, she watched as Otto shot the guy she tied up, but she held her breath as Jax looked down at a crying Darby, his eyes were cold and calculated, without another word she watched as he put a bullet in his head. More tears streaked down her face, not from regret, or even sadness, but from knowing that Charlies murder was avenged. Looking up to the sky, "For you my friend."
Chibs looked over towards Luna, he could see that watching the death of Darby brought her some peace. Turning towards Jax and Otto, "Seem's like da lass needed this. Glad we culd do it fur her."
Otto nodded, "She did need it," looking at the guys around them, "she loved Charlie."
Clay looked over at her, "It's going to take some time, but she's strong, she'll push through it." Looking at his son, "This shit between her and Happy, he gave up his claim on her, it's your job to make sure that he doesn't push her into anything." Taking a deep breath looking around at every member "But, until that tattoo is gone, she's off limits to the club." He wanted to make sure that was clear. He knew that later he'd have to explain to Jax club bi-laws, but he'd handle that after they got some rest.
Jax nodded, and looked at the other guys, they seemed to understand. Keeping his face on lock, he almost forgot that, rubbing his beard, that was a complication. "Let's go home." Walking towards his bike, he could see that she was leaning against Otto's bike, while there were complications, that wasn't going to work for him, taking off his hoodie, he handed it to her, "Let's go Darling." Smirking at her face.
Staring at Jax she was stunned that he was letting her ride with him, snapping out of it, she grabbed his SAMCRO hoodie putting over, it swallowed her. As he mounted on his bike, he handed her his helmet, and waited for her to get on. Taking a deep breath, this would be the first time she was on a bike since Happy. Swinging her legs over the bike, she wrapped her hands around his waist, and she could feel his muscles twitch. Leaning forward, "Take me to Gemma's, please." She requested.
Nodding, Jax kicked his bike to life and took off towards home, his mind trying to focus on how to deal with Happy. He wasn't going to get away for disrespecting Luna.
Happy was pissed off, before they made it to Lodi, Opie got the call that they had Luna, but instead of heading towards Oakland they were told to head back to the clubhouse. Looking at Opie, "This is bullshit. She's my old lady."
Opie's eyes turned on his brother, "No, you're not, for months you been telling anyone that you don't have one." Stepping closer to him, "I know what you did to her, you have no claims over her."
His eyes went wide, he knew that Luna wouldn't talk about their shit to the club, "What the fuck are you talking about."
Bobby was torn, he didn't want brothers to fight, but he was curious to see where this was going. He kept quiet.
"Telling her to get an abortion, throwing money at her like she was some croweater. Otto and I were looking at my knuckle head last night when we heard it." Taking a step back, "So, if Jax says we go back to the club, that's what we do." Turning his around he mounted his bike and brought it to life. He looked over and could see the stunned look on his face, he waited, but soon Happy got on his bike and took off towards Charming. Opie looked at Bobby.
Bobby was shocked, disrespecting an old lady is such a manner, he knew that Happy had no idea what that meant. Looking back at Opie, all he could was shake his head, and head home. He knew that if Opie knew it was only a matter of time before the club knew, the younger members were about to get a lesson in the bi-laws of the club.
Luna was tired, all the crying and adrenaline leaving her body left her exhausted, but she powered through, seeing the Welcome to Charming sign made her sigh in relief. She watched as the members turned off towards the club, while Clay and Jax headed towards his moms. Another 10 minutes of riding and soon they were pulling in, carefully dismounting his bike, she handed him his helmet, and made her way to the door, before she could open it, Gemma was there, pulling her into a hug.
"I'm so sorry baby." Knowing that she was tired, she walked her to the spare room, opening the door, she pushed her inside, "Get some rest, I'll see you in the morning." With that Gemma shut the door and walked back to the living room, she could see that both of her men were tired. "How bad?"
Clay kissed his wife, "Not bad at all, she didn't kill anyone, but she put a hell of beating on Darby before Alvarez got there."
Gemma held her breath, "How'd that go over with the Mayans?"
Jax leaned against the couch, "All fine, even in her rage, she recognized their Kuttes and stopped. Alvarez said she sat down, didn't say anything until we got there. So, no hurt feelings to deal with."
Letting out a long sigh of relief, "That's good. And Darby?"
Jax looked at his mom, "Handled, made it look like one of his crew tried to rip him off and killed him."
Gemma nodded, "Good." Looking at her husband and Jax, "Let's get some sleep, Abel isn't going to sleep in because we had a busy night."
Everyone laughed and headed towards their rooms. Jax's was next to hers, he wanted to check on her, but he knew that she needed time alone. Opening the other door that held his son, he smiled seeing him asleep. Going into his old room he fell on the bed and let the energy leave his body.
