A/N

this is an original story and i hope to use it later. the plot is my creation, and(though it is a bit twisted)i hope to use it later and really publish a version of it.

ok, since this chapter is short, i'll use it to give you a bit of back ground.

Anye is part faerie, so she can do magic, and she has these visions, some she can control, some she cant. the ones she cant involve fire, (something that both fascinates me and frightens me, (a part of my house burned down my freshman year in highschool, i dont sit near the fireplace at all any more.) i decided to includeitbecause fire is always symbolic, and her visions come to play in the end of the book. (i have the entire plot outlined, i am only up to ch 20 with writing)

keep in mind the figures in her vision, they are important. my sisters can never remember them and get lost later on.

enjoy!

Chapter 9

The Vision

Anyé was in the forest this time; she could clearly make out the three figures in the blaze. She stood just mere feet away from the lone figure. She could see the woman calling out to one of the fighters, and see her trying to run into the flames to help, but something was stopping her. She could not get closer than she was, though the heat was not affecting the area she stood in, she could not push past an invisible barrier. She stood helpless, waiting dutifully to see if her champion, (yes, one of the shadows, dashing back and forth in the flames was her true love) would be victorious.

Anyé snapped back to the dingy cell as fast as her mind had left it. She flickered her eyes open and found herself lying on the floor. Red seemed shocked by her apparent swoon, and was gazing at her intently. "That's why she was waiting," Anyé spoke aloud. "her love was fighting for her, and he probably placed the barrier so she would not get hurt." Anyé shook her head to shake loose the images. "I have to get back to work," she said to the dog. "We have to get out of here, there's no time to figure the mystery out now." She picked up her knife once more and began chipping away at the window. Red continued to gaze at her appraisingly, as if he had understood her speech, and knew more about the vision than she did.

i hope that some things are a bit clearer!
