here's the second of 3,
this chapter was added in later, so the grammar is relatively ok, but it might be a little choppy.

Chapter 18
The Pendant
While Anyé had been asleep that morning, Garron had convinced Simon to accompany him to a meeting. Garron explained that he knew where they were once the sun had risen; they were just a few leagues away from a friend's tavern. "We're not far from the border of Tollone at all." Garron had said confidently. "I think I can get my friend to lend us a hand in saving the Valley." They had left Anyé slumbering peacefully, and snuck out without a sound.
Now, after riding Sampson for hours, Garron was contemplating about stopping for a rest. When he voiced his thoughts to Simon, the answer was adamant. "NO, I want to keep going! You said yourself that we are really close!"
They continued on, heading north along the path they had followed the night before.
A horrific scream rent the air; it froze the very blood in their veins. Garron had a terrible feeling in his gut, and realized who it must be.
"ANYÉ!" he dismounted quickly and ran off back south down the path heading in the direction of the scream. Simon tried to follow, but pulling Sampson was too slow. "Garron! What should I do?" he shouted after him. Garron hesitated briefly and turned to face Simon. "Take Red and Sampson and keep going! We're very close to the tavern, tell them that Garron was with you but needs help farther down the path! They'll see you come to no harm and send aid!"
With that he continued running, he even used his magic to push himself faster.
Simon did as he was told he dragged the reluctant Sampson and coaxed the strangely behaving Red to follow him. Red had been acting oddly since they had woken up. He seemed to want to be in the back ground, as if he were trying to hide something. Simon shrugged it off and continued on. He needed to find the tavern to get help.
Garron reached the spot where Anyé had been accosted by the Iceling. He took in the large tracks of ice left behind, and the horse's hoof prints taking off in the opposite direction. Garron looked around and caught his eyes on a silver reflection of metal; it had apparently been dropped when Anyé had fled. Garron picked up the locket; he had been there when Anyé had received it all those years ago, but no one knew how to open it. It had broken open when it had fallen, and inside Garron discovered the secret that Saul had hidden from Anyé. Inside, folded neatly into the rim of the locket was a portrait, delicate and well proportioned. The objects of the minute painting drew his eyes to theirs, they stared back happily, King Zan and Queen Bernadette.
"Anyé," Garron whispered to himself, his eyes growing wide with shock. "Anyé is the princess…"
a friend recently told me that she liked Garron, "he's a little slow,he has his moments, but he can figure stuff out..." (honestly i wasnt going for the slowtype)
