Title: Waiting

Disclaimer: I don't own them. But if I did, much cuddling would ensue.

Warnings: Well okay, so there isn't really a warning, 'cause there's nothing that "ewwww" in here. Actually there's nothing "eeewwwww." But if you have a problem with a Spike that misses his Sire, then don't read it. Oh and it gets quite angst-y.

Waiting

They said just a look could break your heart. Looking up at him, I'd believe it. Dark, brooding eyes hidden behind long lashes as he looked down at me; Long, shimmering hair, good build, a tall man with shoulders that looked like he could carry the world, if he happened to care about it. Which he didn't. But then, nether did I. Not then. Not yet.

Nothing mattered. Because when I wasn't with him, there was nothing. And when I was with him, the whole world fell away, and we were the only two beings in the entire universe.

He always wanted what he couldn't have. Dru wanted me all to herself, so that meant wanted me. And he got me. And I got him. And then he was cursed with that damn soul, and everything fell apart. Everything was gone.

That's why I've taken everything I could from him. In my heart I know that Angelus is still there; he still wants what he can't have. And when he thinks that I hate him, that means me. Everything I've done to stay with the Slayer has been so that in an obscure way, I have him back. I've replaced him in her life, and she's my gateway.

All I have to do is wait for him to come around, wait for him to listen to Angelus screaming inside for what he wants.

Until then, all this peroxide-stained head can do is try to wrap itself around everything that is him; everything that was once his; everything that is my Sire.
