Sorry for not uploading for a while, I have finals right now, so things might be a bit slow. Expect maybe a chapter every week or so.

Chapter IV

Shattered Pieces

Link walked outside for the first time in hours and laid his eyes on a bustling town that lay in front of him.

"Hey, Tatl said, this is Clock Town! I think we just came out of the clock tower!"

"Huh, so this is the clock tow you were talking about earlier in the tunnels?"

"Yes!". Link walked to a large Deku flower that was to the right of the doorway. It was a bright yellow, contrasting greatly with the large pink flowers that he had seen. Tatl began explaining to Link how this flower could shoot him farther into the air when a shrill voice yelled:

"Get off my land, that is my private property!". There was a Deku wearing a hat flying over with a propeller made out of wood and vines.

"You can't use my land. I don't like sharing my Deku Flowers. Besides, this one requires a special land deed to even use, so you can't even use it!". He was smirking by this point, and Link and Tatl just stared at him.

A while later, Link and Tatl were talking about the rude scrub. He had been unwilling to let Link use it. However, he did say that he could use it if Link found a blue gemstone to give to the Deku's wife. Link had no idea where to get a blue gemstone, so he walked off. They had been searching for the Skull Kid for a little while when Tatl piped up.

"You know, I bet the Great Fairy of Magic could help us find the Skull Kid. She is my Aunt, and she is very wise. She might even give you magic power!". Link was easily convinced, as he had no other ideas, so he walked through the streets of Clock Town to the Northern part of town.

By this point, Link was more or less "used" to his new body, but he found many things strange. For one thing, he didn't breathe. He simply just didn't have lungs. His body was made completely out of wood, and he soon found out to stay away from fire. He had gotten too close to a torch, and a few sparks had singed him. To his surprise, it had hurt a lot more than he expected. Link had learned something useful about being a Deku, though. He was a lot faster than his Hylian form, and he could bounce on water, as Tatl had told him. He wasn't sure about the water bouncing, but he could definitely believe that he was a lot faster.

When he made it to the outskirts of Northern Clock Town, it was getting dark.

"Oh no, Tatl exclaimed, We only have 56 hours left!"

"That's not good!"', Link said. At Tatl's direction, we went to the left and saw a cave leading into a hill.

"This is the Great Fairy's Fountain. Many stray fairies like to gather around them..", Tatl said.

"I know what they are, I've gotten powers from them before. I have gotten Din's Fire, Nayaru's Love, and Farore's Wind. I even got the ability to blast beams of light magic out of my sword.".

"What? What are those abilities? How do those work? Tatl exclaimed.

"You don't know?", Link inquired

"I received Din's Fire from the Great Fairy on Death Mountain, Nayaru's Love from the Great Fairy in the Gerudo Desert, and Farore's Wind from the Great Fairy near Zora's Domain. "

Tatl looked confused.

"I haven't ever heard of those places, and I have visited every single place in Termina, but I've never seen any Great Fairies that grant those abilities. What do they do?", she said.

"Well, Din's Fire allows me to create a fireball around me, flying off in all directions. Farore's wind allows me to teleport to a place that I have to specifically pick. Nayaru's Love creates an incredibly hard shield around me, but they all drain a large amount of my magic power. '' Link was very bothered by the fact that Hyrule seemed to not exist in this land but cleared it from his mind. He had more important things going on. He could find a way back to Hyrule later.

"Anyway, we should hurry. We only have a few days left!", he exclaimed as he ran off into the mouth of the cave along with his floating companion.

Link jogged into the cave, and he saw the transition between stone and brick. When he reached the end, he walked into a chamber with a large fountain filled with sparkling water, with white columns making a circle around it. In the center was a confusing mass of fairies that were all a pale orange color. From the crowd of fairies, a voice rang out.

"Young one! Please hear my plea! I have been broken and shattered to pieces by the masked Skull Kid. Please find the one Stray Fairy lost in town, and bring her to this Fairy Fountain."

"Oh, no, the Great Fairy!", Tatl cried. Link was very confused.

"I thought Great Fairies couldn't die.", he said.

"They can't, Tatl agreed, but their bodies can be shattered into pieces. In this case, the Great Fairy of Magic must have sealed her power inside of the fairies in order to retrieve them again." Link was worried about his time left, but he had no choice but to help the Great Fairy.

"Ok, I'll find your other piece, but I can only help search for a little while, he said, I need to find the Skull Kid before he hurts anybody else.

Link then ran out of the cave opening to find the missing fairy with only a few days left in order to find Majoras Mask.
