A/N #1: It was great to get the feedback I did for the first two chapters of this story, so I'll start on my thank yous for them! TORONTOSUN (Really pleased to see you thought the chapter was very good writing. And I'm happy you like how I'm starting the story too!),

Mb (I was glad to see you weren't expecting what happened in the prologue. And not surprised you were commenting what a way for the vic to go, lol, or that you think he may have been poisoned. Interesting guesses about the killer, have to see if you're right! Really pleased to see you're looking forward to how this case will go! You're welcome for the prologue!) and

Mb (Really happy see you loved them having fun back at home. And not surprised you thought it was good to have Alexis and Louis back. So relieved that you were happy that they're trying to have a baby since and that you didn't think it was too soon. You made a really good point that since they've been together since college, they've had time being together. It was really nice reading you were happy at how I have the older kids protective of the younger ones since I figured they're really close with everyone, lol, they'd be that way. And I had to laugh at you saying Eliza and Josie are definitely miniatures of their parents, lol, and I'm glad you think they're a good combination of them both. And no surprise you thought Julia was too. And I wasn't surprised you thought they were going to the play in the prologue, lol, I can see why you would of course since I didn't make any distinction of what it was really. Happy to see you thought it was nice. You're welcome for the first half of the chapter! And yeah, when I saw the first half of your review, I was hoping I'd managed to convey the performance wasn't the same one in the prologue and I'm relieved I did. Great you thought Alexis and Louis did a good job watching all the kids since I wanted to show they were good with kids, lol. And I'm pleased to read you thought the couples' plans for Valentine's Day were nice. I had to laugh at how you mentioned Castle and Beckett were pre celebrating Valentine's Day, but I was glad you thought it was intimate and loving since that's what I was going for. You're welcome for the second half of the chapter!).

Thanks for the reviews, I enjoyed reading them and am grateful for the time taken to write them out and send them my way!

A/N #2: The title of this chapter is a lyric from the song Pisces Fish written by George Harrison, from his album Brainwashed.

Going Where The Other

Hurrying down the stairs, Julia reached the first floor and slowed down before her parents told her to. Walking down the hall to the kitchen table, she was waiting for one of them to scold her when she paused seeing only her grandmother was at the table. "Where did everyone go?" she asked in surprise.

"Your grandfather isn't down yet himself," Martha said with a smile. "Your mother got a call from Skye. And your father is in the pool room with your sisters."

"Is Mom in the office?" Julia asked, gesturing behind her. At her grandmother's nod she hurried to the closed door and gently knocked on it before she heard her mother calling her. Slipping inside she made sure the door was shut behind her and asked, "Are you okay?"

"I am, it was just Skye calling," Beckett replied.

"Wait… isn't it early for her?" Julia asked in surprise.

"She flew to DC from Bali," Beckett said. "To finish her investigation."

"It's still early," Julia replied.

Smiling Beckett said, "She was calling about coming to the ball next month."

"Tomorrow," Julia said with a smile.

"Yes, it starts next month," Beckett said in amusement since it was the thirty-first of January. "But she wanted to make sure."

"Does Dad know?" Julia asked.

"No, I'll tell him once we're eating breakfast," Beckett said. "Which should be ready by now," she told her, wrapping her arm around her shoulder.

"I think so, Gram said he was with Lizzy and Josa in the pool room," Julia said, unable to help smiling at her mother's slightly frustrated sigh.

"We're not going to be that eager to swim with him going inside the room repeatedly," Beckett said while they were leaving the room.

"We'll still be excited about our pool," Castle said, smiling when his wife looked at him rapidly. "I heard you love. And we were taking a quick look."

"Not quick per se," Martha said when her daughter in law then turned to her. "But I'm sure they didn't step out from the entry entirely."

"We didn't," Eliza said with a smile. "But it's really pretty Mommy."

"I'm not surprised," Beckett said, smiling back at her. "Go and wash your hands with your sister. I'll see where my dad is," directing the last to her husband and mother-in-law. She turned around but soon saw he was coming down the hall and she told him, "I was just going to get you."

"I'm ready," Jim said. "I'm sorry I couldn't help you but…"

"Did you go to bed late?" Eliza asked, setting the table with her sister.

"A little, I had a book I wanted to finish," Jim said.

"I hope it was a good one," Julia commented.

"It was," Jim replied with a smile. He squeezed her shoulder in passing before they were gathering around the table and starting to pass the food.

"What are you gonna do today Grandpapa, Gram," Eliza eventually asked once she'd eaten some of her pancake. She thought one of them would answer but was startled her mother was asking her grandfather about that instead.

"You're not heading out?" Beckett asked.

"No, I told you I was planning to stay home," Jim said firmly. "Unless you wanted me to leave?"

"No," Beckett said with a smile. "I'm just making sure you don't think you have to."

"I don't," Jim said. "I was looking forward to staying and watching Josie for you." He hesitated and asked, "You're planning to write, aren't you?"

"We are, we want to finish up the book before summer," Castle said. He smiled when his two middle daughters looked at him and told them, "Your mom said."

"We will," Beckett said as they then turned to her. "I'll make sure."

"What about Spring Break?" Eliza asked with a little concern.

"That we're not too worried about," Castle reassured her. "We're ready to go to Hawaii though, everything's set."

"I can't wait," Julia said eagerly.

"But we have a while to go still," Jim said.

"Oh I know, but I'm still counting down," Julia said, smiling at him.

"Are you girls finished?" Castle asked, looking at their plates.

"Yeah," Eliza said with a sigh.

"The week will go fast enough," Beckett said with a smile as she stood. She then said, "But you have to remember you said you were going to study for your test."

"I will," Eliza said.

"And your spelling bee on Friday," Castle said, laughing when the little girl let out a harried groan since they knew she was joking.

"Are either of you coming with us?" Beckett asked her mother-in-law and father.

"I'd like to stay," Jim said, looking at Martha.

"So would I," Castle's mother said. "I would like to spend time with Josie before I need to go to the theater."

"You never said what you were gonna do Gram," Eliza told her.

"Help the play, as I've been doing," Martha said simply, smiling and hugging the little girl back when she squeezed her tightly. After she let her go, she was about to urge Eliza over to the kitchen to help her parents when Beckett was calling out to both girls.

"Go and make sure your backpacks are ready to go," she told them when they both turned to her.

"Are you sure Josa can't go with us?" Julia asked.

"I'm sure," Beckett said firmly and with a smile before she watched them go.

"Jules," Josie said when they were nearing the entry with the dogs. "I go too."

"I don't think you can," Julia said. She squeezed her hand and said, "I tried talking to Mom but her and Dad say it's too cold."

"I go," Josie said again and with a frown on her face. When Eliza started to giggle, she complained saying, "Lizzy no!"

"It's okay," Julia said, hugging her sister tightly. "She's not laughing at you, it's because you look like Mom."

"Mama," Josie said firmly.

Hugging her again, Julia told her, "Come and help me make sure I have my math homework, okay?"

"Eh," Josie said, smiling when her big sister started to laugh.

Once they had the kitchen and table cleaned up, Beckett led the way down the hall before she told her father and mother-in-law, "We'll hurry back, we want to watch the show with Josie before we start writing."

"That's fine," Martha said, smiling at the girls while they reached the entry. "But be careful."

"We will," Julia and Eliza said at the same time.

Letting the two say goodbye to their little sister and grandparents, Castle helped Beckett into her coat before he grabbed his. "We'll be back," he told Josie when his father-in-law walked over to him with the baby. He kissed her cheek tenderly before he pulled back, intending to tell her to listen to her grandparents before the baby was talking first.

"I go Dada," Josie said.

"She's been saying that," Julia told their parents.

"You need to stay this time sweetheart," Castle said, gently smoothing down some of her hair. "But don't worry, spring will be here soon."

"I hope," Julia said.

"What about Groundhog's Day?" Eliza asked.

"You know they might get what he says wrong," Julia reminded her little sister.

"I know, but I want to see what he says," Eliza replied.

"Get your things girls," Beckett said. After they had their backpacks and Eliza had her lunchbox she asked Julia, "You have your money?"

"Yep," the girl said immediately. "Bye Josa, we'll see you later!"

"She'll be okay," Castle said to the girls reassuringly since their baby sister was starting to cry. "Your gram and grandpapa will take care of her."

"I hope so," Julia said, glancing at the house as they waited for him to open the door in the wall. After they'd slipped out, she called to her friend so Mari could see they were ready to walk.

"Hey," Mari said, rushing down to them with a smile. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, I don't want to but…" Julia started to say before shrugging. "Come on."

Glancing back to see if the others were following, Mari started walking with her friend before she said, "Are you excited about dance class today?"

"Not excited, but I'm looking forward to tapping again," Julia replied. She looked at her friend out of the corner of her eye and said, "I know you're excited to watch."

"It's fun to," Mari said before they were stopping at the first intersection. They waited for the others to catch up to them before a car was pulling up next to them and someone familiar was calling to them.

"Good morning, everyone," Alexis called, leaning over slightly.

"Hi 'lexis!" Eliza said, hurrying over to lean into the car.

"Shouldn't you be at work already?" Castle asked his daughter teasingly.

"I'm not needed until eleven," Alexis replied wryly. "I'm just going in to start on paperwork; I promised Louis I'm making dinner tonight."

"Then why did you stop to talk to us?" Julia asked jokingly.

"Because I wasn't going to take that long," Alexis said firmly. She then smiled and said, "You guys have school. But I wanted to say hi and I'll see you guys later."

"Tomorrow," Beckett said. "Come to dinner if you can."

"We will," Alexis said, waving before she drove away once Eliza was out of the way.

"Why tomorrow? She won't have to cook tonight," the little girl said, going to her mother.

"Because she and Louis want to have dinner alone together," Beckett told her resolutely.

Eliza pursed her lips before she hurried to continue as they were crossing the street, watching the other kids and adults walking by them before they reached the street in front of the school. "There's Quentin," she said eagerly, spotting her dance partner.

"Stay here sweetie," Beckett said, holding onto her.

"I was gonna say hi," Eliza said before her sister was commenting on that.

"You'll see him in class," Julia reminded her. She giggled when Eliza made a face at her and then waited until they were at the quad to hug her little sister. "I'll see you after lunch," she said.

"I'll stay with my friends," Eliza said.

"Eliza-" Castle said in slight concern.

"I'm not angry Daddy," the little girl told him quickly and with a smile. "I'm just gonna go play with my friends."

"Okay… I was worried," Castle said in a feigned stern tone of voice.

Giggling, Eliza watched her sister say goodbye to their parents and she went to take his hand after Julia and Eliza left them. "Do we have to go?" she asked them.

"Yes," Beckett replied before pulling the little girl gently with her and Castle to the elementary school building.

"Did you get money for lunch?" Julia asked Mari as they headed to their building.

"Yeah, were you thinking of getting a potato?" the girl asked her friend.

"It's the perfect day for it," Julia replied with a nod. She then smiled and said, "I hope we make it before there's a line."

"Me too," Mari said. They reached the entrance, and they were saying hello to Peter and Clive, seeing the former was looking past them.

"So Eve isn't here yet?" Julia asked in amusement.

"Yes she is," Peter said. "I'll see you going into class."

"We're not even in the same class," Julia commented to the other two.

"You don't mind?" Clive asked.

"I'm not dating him," Julia said firmly. She then smiled at them before she was about to ask the boy how his mother was when he was answering before she could say a word.

"If you're wondering, Mom is fine," Clive said. "Getting…"

"Bigger, not fatter," Mari said quickly.

Smiling widely, Julia said, "Have her cheeks gotten wider?" At his nod she said, "That happens."

"To my mom," Mari said with a brief snort. "Kate didn't get that at all."

Seeing Clive shrugging, Julia said, "I don't think he cares." She glanced at him again and said, "You don't care though."

"Sorry," Clive replied.

Julia was about to tell him it was okay when she heard the warning bell before she said, "I hope he'll make it."

"Oh, he will, there he is," Clive said, spotting his brother jogging to them.

"We'll see you guys at lunch," Julia said to her friend and Clive. After saying goodbye to the two with her dance partner she said, "You know we're not in this class together."

"I realized that when I went to Eve," Peter replied.

"How is she?" Julia asked.

"Good," Peter said simply.

Glancing at him quickly, Julia smiled to herself before she said, "Excited for Valentine's Day?"

"Is it weird I am?" Peter asked as they paused outside of her classroom. "We're just doing the usual."

"The movies?" Julia asked.

"We're not sure yet about that," Peter replied. "Our parents aren't liking the movies that are there yet."

"What if there aren't any?" Julia said.

"I think just stay home," Peter said. "Watch a movie there." He saw the look his dance partner gave, trying to hide it, and said, "You don't think so?"

"Well, I think it's an idea, but your brother will be there… your parents. It'll be your house, right?" Julia asked him. When he nodded, she smiled and said, "So if you don't really want to do that then go to the family fun center."

"Yeah…" Peter said.

"What were you going to do?" Julia asked in mock suspicion.

"Just put my arm around her shoulder," Peter said slowly. "Would you think that's too much?"

"Not really, just watch that hand once you do that," Julia replied.

"Duh," Peter said before they were laughing together.

"You better go, you're going to be late," Julia replied.

"Okay, see you at lunch," Peter replied.

Smiling, Julia walked into her class seeing Dawn and Ava were there, surprised to see they were smirking at each other before she sat at her desk next to them. She was going to ask what they were talking about before the former spoke first.

"You and Peter look like you're the ones dating," Ava said.

Giving her friends a raspberry as they laughed, Julia said, "No way. I asked him what he and Eve were going to do for Valentine's Day. They're not sure if they're going to see a movie yet."

"There's nothing to see?" Ava asked in surprise.

"Peter said their parents didn't see anything," Julia said.

"Should we give him advice, or did you do that already?" Dawn asked.

With a brief smile, Julia spoke quickly as the final bell was ringing, "You can, he won't mind but remember Eve will be there."

"What does he want to do?" Dawn asked.

Shaking her head while their teacher came into the room, Julia said quickly, "They'll tell you at lunch," not surprised when Ava was replying to that first.

"Think they'll want to talk to us about that?" the girl said.

"No idea," Julia said. She glanced at the teacher and seeing her looking at some papers told her friends, "We'll find out." She turned her attention then to the front of the classroom where their teacher was starting to take attendance and she tried not to think about lunch though it was difficult since she couldn't wait to speak to all her friends.

Opening the front door, Castle paused and then said to his wife, "It's Josie."

"Let me go in," Beckett told him so she could slip into the entry first. She tore off her scarf and tossed her red coat to the bench before she hurried into the family room.

"Oh thank goodness," Martha said. "She started crying again once we calmed her down the first time."

"We're here sweetie," Beckett told her, holding Josie on her hip and gently rubbing at her back.

"Both of us," Castle said, walking in the room. He gently rubbed at her back too, kissing the baby's cheek and getting his handkerchief from his pocket. Gently drying her tears, he kissed her forehead and said, "We might go out to get lunch sweetheart, what're you going to do then?"

"Dada," Josie said.

Laughing, Beckett handed the baby to her husband since Josie was leaning over to him and said, "I think it's because we all left."

"Probably," Castle said, cuddling the baby close. He shared a kiss with her before he said, "Okay, should we watch the show?" He jumped a little, smiling as Josie giggled, when his phone started to ring and he quickly gave her back to Beckett so he could answer it.

"Hey, Castle?" Brad said on the other end.

Looking at his wife in surprise, Castle was about to respond to that when Beckett was talking first so the chief would know he was on speaker.

"I'm here too Brad," Beckett said.

"Oh, good," the chief said. "I need you two to get Patrick and come out to the warehouses north of the city."

"Where our last case we worked was?" Castle asked in surprise.

"The next block over," Brad replied. "I'll text you the address."

"Okay," Beckett said, looking at her husband when he nodded to her. "We'll hear what the case is once we're out there."

"I'll tell you guys then," Brad said, knowing what she was asking.

"We'll leave right now," Castle said before they said goodbye to his friend.

"Will she be okay with your going?" Jim asked as soon as his daughter and son in law looked to him and Martha.

"She'll need to be," Beckett said slightly grimly. She then sighed and said, "Sweetie, we have to go to work, okay?"

"Go bye?" Josie asked.

"Exactly," Castle said before he leaned over and kissed her cheek. "We'll try to have lunch with you."

"I'll bring her," Jim said firmly. "Just let me know and where it'll be."

"We will," Beckett said. "Watch the show with her," she told them.

"Oh no," Martha said firmly. "We'll play with her… or I will until I leave."

"You can take her on your own until you need to go," Jim said, watching his daughter texting Darnley. "I needed to develop some pictures anyway."

"He'll be waiting for us outside," Beckett told her husband. When he nodded, she turned her attention to Josie and hugged her tightly telling her, "We'll try and solve the case as fast as we can sweetie."

"Mama lun," Josie said.

Laughing softly, Beckett brushed her lips to the baby's before telling her, "We will, we promise." She hugged her again tightly before handing her to Castle and watched him doing what she'd done, hugging and kissing her before he spoke as he looked into the baby's eyes.

"And we'll see you after we're finished for the day," Castle said. "Be a good girl for your gram and grandpapa?" When she nodded, he smiled and leaned over to her, kissing her cheek before he carried her to the entry. He set her down among the dogs, not surprised when Max nuzzled her hand, so she held onto him. Grateful for the dog distracting her, he turned his attention to getting his coat and scarf on though he didn't button the former. "Okay, Mother have fun today," he told her.

"I'm sure I will," Martha said with a smile.

"You can't meet us for lunch?" Beckett asked her mother-in-law.

"I think the kids will want me to eat with them," Martha told her. "I'll see about another day this week."

Nodding, Beckett went to Josie and kissed her cheek before her husband was doing the same and she gave her to her father. "We'll call."

"We'll be ready," Jim said reassuringly.

"Let's go," Castle told his wife. They said goodbye to their family and went into the garage before he said, "Hopefully we didn't take too long."

"He had to say goodbye to Trevor and his in laws," Beckett said while she backed out of the garage. Once she was out on the street, she spotted Darnley and honked once since he was talking to Nkosi.

"I'll see you Trev," Darnley told his husband.

"You'll come back for lunch?" Nkosi asked.

"I will," Darnley said slowly as he looked at the car. Seeing his friend and Castle nodding, he turned back to his husband and said more firmly, "I will. I'll call when I'm on my way." He shared a kiss with his husband before he sat in the backseat and once they were driving away was about to ask if they knew what the case was when his friend was speaking first.

"How is it in the house?" Beckett asked.

"Bethany was vacuuming upstairs," Darnley said with a smile. "She's going to straighten the kids' playroom before she makes lunch."

"We want to meet Josie and her dad for that," Castle told the carpenter. "So we'll make sure Brad will let you go. What was Joseph doing?"

"Preparing the soil in the back for spring," Darnley said. "He'll work on the front once he's done," he added. "But he's ready to start planting now he's got the boxes for his garden set."

"And Trevor?" Beckett asked.

Waiting for the GPS on one of their phones to speak, Darnley said, though he was really wondering about the case, "He was painting when you texted; I was in my part of the studio; so he'll go back to that." He waited for them to ask him anything else and when they didn't quickly said, "What about this case?"

"Our family was with us," Castle said. "So he didn't give us any details… I doubt he would have if we'd been alone," he added after thinking about that for a moment.

"Then where are we going," Darnley said. His eyes widened in surprise when he heard where and said, "Again?"

"They're not the same ones," Castle said. "They've always been in some kind of use and not abandoned like the other ones were."

"Though now they're open," Darnley pointed out.

"They are," Castle said.

"Okay, now I'm really wondering what's going on," Darnley said before he settled back against the seat. He watched as they made their way along a familiar route, though they were going away from the other warehouses. When they reached the parking lot for the one where the crime scene was, he was just unbuckling his seatbelt before he heard Castle sucking in a deep breath of air, Beckett quickly talking to him in slight concern.

"What's wrong?" she said.

"I know what the crime scene is," Castle said. He looked at his wife and Darnley and then shook his head before he said, "Where it is."

"How?" Darnley asked in surprise.

"Because when I was getting the tickets to the show we went to last month, it had a poster for this place," Castle replied. "I'm assuming it was a link to get tickets to this show… I didn't click on it." Just as it appeared his wife and the carpenter were going to ask what the show was, Brad was walking up to them and he breathed out in relief before turning his attention to the chief.

"I'm glad I caught you guys out here," Brad said. "I didn't want you to come through unawares. Though have you heard of the Views of Love?"

"No," Beckett said, looking at her husband briefly. She then turned back to the chief and said, "From what Castle just told us I'm guessing it's like the show we saw last month."

Not surprised his friend turned to him, Castle told the chief what he'd seen online before he told him, "I only guessed what this is by the poster."

"What is it?" Darnley then asked, unable to help the impatience in his tone.

"A sex show," Brad said. He wasn't surprised when Castle shook his head while Beckett and Darnley's eyes widened in surprise. He then said, "Granted they were trying to copy the troupe we saw last month but, in the end, it was a sex show," not surprised at what his friend's wife was asking next.

"That's legal?" Beckett asked.

"The group of founders filled out the proper paperwork," Brad said with a nod. "But there were bouncers and everyone going in needed to sign papers that they wouldn't…"

"Masturbate? Participate in sex?" Darnley supplied when the chief trailed off. When Brad nodded, he said, "Yeah, not a surprise. So does that bring us to what happened here?"

"There was a show an hour ago," Brad said. He held up his hand before any of the three could speak and told them, "They preferred to have the shows early in the day."

"Are we going in?" Castle asked.

"Who was killed exactly?" Beckett said when Brad obviously hesitated.

"One of the performers," the chief replied. "He was just beginning the… sex performance after some posing when the others working here saw him starting to vomit before he was collapsing on top of the woman he was with. They tried to revive him, but he was already dead by the time they reached him."

"Was he naked?" Castle asked.

"Yeah, he's been turned around, but Thayer is still examining him," Brad said.

"Let's go please," Beckett said. "I'm not squeamish."

"I might be," Castle said, not surprised his wife squeezed his arm as they were following the chief before he realized something and was calling to his friend when Brad spoke rapidly.

"If you're wondering about the audience the theater was full, but they bolted when the performer under our vic screamed that he was dead," Brad answered.

"Any way to track them?" Darnley asked.

"Unfortunately no," Brad said with a frown, stopping at the door to the theater. "The tickets were bought via cash… there's no way to track them. The waivers won't do us any good, Rice searched two names and they're both fake, but I told him to keep going though I'm not sure we'll get an honest name."

"But I saw this show online," Castle said, frowning himself.

"You did and if you'd gone to the link, you would have had the option to remain anonymous," Brad said. "The founders said they'd get all their purchases with that option. And speaking of that, you reserved your ticket, got a number instead of using your name and paid here, it's why they paid in cash."

Beckett wanted to ask about the people that came to the show themselves but held back as the chief was opening the door for them. She immediately saw the 'theater' was bare bones and had folding chairs for the audience along with a crude stage. She saw the scene set there was lavish and guessed the reason the location was so simple was because of the contents of the show. In front of the background of a Victorian parlor, she saw their victim lying on a fainting couch and glanced at her husband before he nodded to her in response.

"Glad to see you guys here," Thayer said when one of his team let him know they'd arrived. "Come around behind me since the front of this couch is evidence."

Trying not to look at the vomit someone from the ME's office was collecting, Castle followed the others so they were behind the ME. "He was poisoned?" he asked.

"I'll have to test everything to be sure," Thayer replied. "But from what the woman with him was saying, it looks like his body was reacting to something."

"Any signs on the body of what that was?" Darnley asked.

Shaking his head Thayer said, "Nothing on him that might indicate it. But again from what the woman under him said he was pale all over his body and she could see the veins on his shoulders. I'm not saying for sure, but I'd call it a doctored liquid headache medication," startled when Castle and Beckett were swiftly replying to that.

"Praxeeze?" the two said.

"That's my guess, since it was a side effect early in the development of the medicine," Thayer replied. "I'll test his stomach contents; it's a lozenge."

"Over the counter?" Brad asked. At the man's nod he glanced at the body and was about to fill in his consultants on who the vic was before his friend was asking about him.

"Who is this exactly?" Castle said.

"Matthias Waller," Brad replied. "Twenty-nine, obviously an actor and he used to belong to the troupe we saw last month." He wasn't surprised when the three looked at him and he shook his head so they wouldn't say anything about that fact. "But he's been with this one since their tour started in September."

"Then he got along with everyone," Beckett said.

"Yes, he was dating the woman he was… performing with," Brad replied.

"Is it alright for me to get him into the bag?" Thayer asked.

"Yeah, go ahead," Brad replied. He motioned to his consultants and told them, "Let's head back, I haven't spoken with his girlfriend yet, but I've kept everyone separate."

"You were waiting for me?" Beckett asked him.

"Sort… of," Brad said slowly. "Please say you were expecting that," he added as he led the three to the back of the 'stage.'

"I was, now I know they were dating," Beckett replied.

"And the two of us?" Darnley asked, motioning between himself and Castle.

"I'd like you to each go with an officer to talk with the others," Brad said. "You with Hutchinson, and you with Wade," talking first to Castle and then the carpenter.

"Sure," Castle said first, Darnley nodding in agreement.

Beckett followed the others once they went through a door, glancing back to see Thayer was bringing over the body bag. She turned back and said, "You didn't have to worry," since her husband was waiting for her.

"I should have known Thayer would have covered him," Castle commented. "And I wasn't worried," he added rapidly. When his wife gave him a look he frowned and then told her, "Okay, I wasn't worried, but you didn't have to see… I didn't want you to," correcting himself when she raised her eyebrow at him.

"Thank you, I didn't either," Beckett replied firmly. She then turned to see Brad was talking to Wade and said, "Let Hutchinson take care of whoever you're talking to."

"I figured you'd say that," Castle said before he saw his friend was beckoning him. "And I'll talk where I need to. Good luck."

Nodding briefly, Beckett walked over but waited until her husband and the officer were going into what she guessed was a dressing room. She followed Brad and was about to ask him how the girlfriend was and her name when he was stopping them in front of another door before he spoke.
