CHAPTER 6: Orphan

It was around six in the morning when Hiro Fuji woke up to the sound of an orderly coming in and yelling at him to wake up. He quickly got up to make sure he was one of the first of his twenty-three roommates to get out of the door and get ready.

Hiro dealt with the rush, if anyone saw it, it would look like complete chaos. However, this was just an ordinary day for him. Too many boys cramped into a too small room full with triple bunk beds, struggling to get ready for school. They all ran like a well-oiled machine, because if they were disorganized, they'd all get punished and the rest of the room would punish the one responsible.

After a cold shower, having to share a single shower head with three of his roommates, all while trying to not get their feet cut on the broken and chipped tile, he rushed back into his "room" to put on his school uniform. It was third or fourth hand, Hiro couldn't remember and it wasn't like he bothered to. Instead of being one single shade of black it was multiple, and the gold on the buttons were falling off, and he quickly put on his very old black framed glasses.

He quickly got dressed and ran down to the main hall to present himself for inspection. He passed, but one of his roommates was not so fortunate, he was taken to a back room and Hiro dreaded his fate. He was the one of the lucky privileged ones to not know what happened to those who failed inspection, and he didn't intend to find out because the other boys had no intention on telling and he didn't want to ask.

Hiro lived in a quirk orphanage. It was an all-boys orphanage, which Hiro thought was unusual when he moved there when he was four years old when his quirk finally developed. He never knew his parents. He was told that his father died a few months before his birth and his mother died due to complications with child birth. However strangely, he had no memories of his life before the orphanage, despite being old enough to be able to retain them.

It was about ten minutes after leaving the orphanage that he ran into Bakugo and his group of thugs. He wasn't interested in approaching the teen because Hiro couldn't stand him.

"Why is he praised an lauded over?" Hiro thought to himself dejectedly, "His quirk is far more dangerous than mine and yet I'm the one labeled as dangerous simply because my parents are dead. How is he even at the top of the class? Do his parents bribe the teachers so they not only look the other way when he hurts people, but also give him top grades? Besides, there is no way someone with a stick up his butt like him could be top of the class."

Keeping a safe distance and out of sight made Hiro late for class, again. He silently ignored the teacher's scolding and sat down at his desk, and he reached into his tattered bag to pull out his stuff.

"That's right. Yell at me even though there I was what? Only a couple seconds late past the bell."

"Come on you blue hair loser!" Bakugo yelled at him, "How can you be serious about life if you are always late?!" He then let out a couple explosions from his palm.

"That's right Bakugo. Pick on the easiest target in the room. Of course the teachers aren't going to do crap. Can't be tarnishing the only hope of this school getting any recognition. And can't he control his temper? Bet he'll have massive blood pressure problems and die of a heart attack before he even goes pro if he keeps it up."

Hiro sat in the back of the class in the far left hand corner next to the window. That way there were fewer people around him. Less opportunities for the other kids to make fun of him. When it came to lunch break he always made sure to get there first and find a secluded corner to eat his food, a stale sandwich, it was the same every day. No one ever bothered to sit next to him because they were scared of him just because of where he lived. When he finished eating he always made sure to find a corner in the courtyard where no one would find him so he could read up and study for his exams. He used to go to the rooftop but he was almost caught once and realized it would be too risky to go up there again.

The one and only escape for him out of his Tomb would be to go to UA and live in the dorms there, otherwise he would have to wait till he was 20 to be kicked out of the orphanage. He could probably most likely get into one of the General Studies program there with his current grades, Class-D was his first choice. Joining the hero program was a ridiculous fantasy.

"No way they would allow a freak like me who lives in an orphanage for boys with dangerous quirks into a Hero Course." Hiro always thought to himself when this came up, "I'm already labeled as a villain even though I've never done anything wrong in my life. Except perhaps existing in the first place judging by how everyone treats me."

At the end of the day he made sure to quickly rush out of the school so Bakugo and his gang couldn't intercept him on his way home. However, on this return trip home, something different happened. As soon as Hiro got to the train station, he ran into the only boy who wanted to talk to him before.

"Hey Hiro!" The boy called out, he ran over to him wearing his beige suit and blue and white stripped tie.

"He remembered my name?" Hiro thought to himself, "No one ever remembers my name."

"Where have you been Hiro!?" the boy called out, Izuku Midoriya if Hiro remembered correctly, "I've tried looking for you every morning when I've done my training, but I haven't seen you since. Do you not stay up late anymore?"

"No," Hiro muttered, "Dear goodness, why am I so uncomfortable? Am I just that pathetic at holding a conversation? Is it because I'm not use to talking to someone who is happy to see me?" "Well, my escape route out of my room was taken away and so I haven't been able to sneak out since that night, or well morning we met." "How is this guy so…. Positive?"

"Well at least you are getting plenty of sleep now," Izuku muttered concerningly. "How about we trade numbers?"

"He really wants to stay in touch with me?"

"I'm sorry but I don't have a cell phone," Hiro muttered, he felt extremely embarrassed, "I'm not trusted with one, and they won't tell us the phone number of the place I stay…"

The boy who went by Izuku just blinked at him a few times in shock, but his expression turned to pity.

"That's not cool of them…" the green haired boy said sadly, "It's like they don't want you to make friends…"

"That's probably the reason why they don't give us easy forms of communication." Hiro responded staring at the ground, his unruly blue hair flopping down. They never gave them a haircut until the someone at the school complained and then they HAD to get him one. They wouldn't even do a proper one, they'd just give them buzzcuts so they didn't have to go to a proper barber. "So I don't have any forms of contacting anyone. They take care of everything…"

"Who's they?" Izuku asked, there was a look on the boy's face and tone of voice that Hiro couldn't identify, it scared him though. "Where do you live Hiro?"

A flutter of panic fluttered inside Hiro's chest, "Shit! I can't tell him where I live! He'd just move on and consider me a freak like everyone else!"

"Are you okay Hiro?" Izuku asked, and Hiro jumped, something of his thoughts must have shown up on his face.

"Yeah…" Hiro mumbled, "I just don't like telling people I just met where I live." "I'm so glad I thought of that on my feet."

"I guess I can understand that…" Izuku replied, although he looked like he was disappointed.

"Does he secretly know I live in a quirk orphanage?" Hiro thought internally, "Is he simply feeling me out? Was this person set up to pretend to be my friend and then only turn on me? Wouldn't put it past Bakugo to do something like that."

Izuku paused for a moment, and plays with the sleeves of his beige suit jacket. He appeared to be deep in thought, and Hiro couldn't read his expression.

"So Hiro, is it still your plan to get into UA?" Izuku asked him.

Hiro paused, "Didn't we discuss this the first time we met? Or did he forget? Or is he just trying to change the subject." "Yeah, it's the best way for me to get out of my current situation."

"If you are going to UA you should totally try and get into the Hero Course!" the green haired boy said with enthusiasm.

"I thought I told you that I wouldn't want to be in the Hero program…" Hiro responded shyly. "Heroes have never really been my thing. Anyways, look at my body." He gestured to his very thin frame, "I'd hardly pass whatever practical exam they have."

Izuku paused again letting out a "hmmmmm" with his finger on his chin, apparently in thought. Then he started talking very loudly, making Hiro jump.

"I'LL JUST TRAIN YOU THEN!"

Hiro's face turned red as he begun to panic. "He can't be serious?!" "WHAT?!"

"That's right!" Izuku cheered with a massive smile on his face, "I've been training a lot and you can hang out with me while you train!"

"But…" Hiro stuttered, he was desperately thinking of an excuse. "But I'll be better off trying to get into the business or general studies…"

"No buts." Izuku said with enthusiasm, placing his hands on both of Hiro's shoulders. "Besides, you could use with some muscle on your frame."

"But if they find out I've been training my quirk…"

"Don't worry about it! Besides, all schools have quirk training days for PE. You can pass it off over there. Also you could use with some meat on your bones."

"Crap. He has me there…""Fine…" Hiro finally gave in. "I just hope they don't find out I'm hanging out with someone. They'll get upset that I made a friend."

So the next Saturday he sneaked out of the orphanage early in the morning and met Midoriya at Dagobah beach. When he got there he didn't recognize it. There was no trash on the beach. He swore he was at the wrong place, but there was a sign saying that this was indeed Dagobah Beach.

He heard his name called from a distance. He turned to look around and there was Midoriya waving towards him and he was already in workout clothes. Hiro didn't have any of those, just his normal third or fourth hand ones that were worn down and didn't fit him properly.

Midoriya just seemed to have too much enthusiasm for this early hour in the morning.

"Did this kid drink a bucket of coffee when he woke up?"

He was talking way too fast for Hiro to comprehend. He nearly fainted when he found out that Midoriya had been up since four in the morning.

"Please don't tell me I'm going to have to wake up at 4 in the morning?"

"Wasn't this beach full of trash?" Hiro finally asked the green haired boy.

"It was, but I cleaned it all up." Izuku replied with a shy smile and rubbing the back of his head.

"Wait what?!" Hiro's face turned to one of shock, "How the fuck did he clean up all the trash?"

Izuku seeing his shocked looked quickly responded, "It was my trainer's idea for my training. Moving around all the trash helped all sorts of muscles groups. I essentially had to fill up a delivery truck full of trash every morning, and then he'd take it off to the dump."

The two boys then walked down to the water's edge on the beach, and that is when Izuku asked him the question. "So what's your quirk?"

Hiro began to panic, "Why am I panicking? That's a pretty normal question to be asked; especially given what we are going to be doing. God damn fucking stupid conditioning…"

After a few deep breaths, and a concerned look from Izuku, Hiro finally spoke. "My quirk is called Hydro. Essentially I have total control over water in all of its states of matter. I can even force water to transform into its other states of matter. Also I can generate water out of the air if the humidity level is high enough. I can also shape it into different objects and make ice just as hard as steel."

"THAT POWER IS TOTALLY AWESOME!" Izuku declared at the top of his lungs which caused Hiro to take a few steps back. He wasn't sure quite how to react after that. From then on Izuku was staring at him with awe which made Hiro uncomfortable. He never really turned red in the face before out of people praising him. That never happens.

However Izuku started behaving odd. He kept mumbling, and wouldn't seem to stop. Hiro let this go on for about ten minutes simply staring at Izuku, not wanting to interrupt him. However after twenty minutes he patted Izuku's cheek and that broke the spell. Izuku apologized, and said that he does that quite often and needs someone to help snap him out of it sometimes.

"Okay let's start with the training." With that Izuku paused, he was deep in thought for about a couple minutes, but then apparently an idea came to him. "Okay! Let me see if you can make something out of the water. Try and make the sea water do something for me."

"Okay then…" Hiro responded sounding uneasy. He reached a hand over the water, he paused and imagined something simple. After a while and enough concentration, the water started to rise and dance above them. It formed a double helix and then it splashed back down.

Hiro looked over to Izuku and saw him writing frantically in a notebook. If Hiro wasn't originally nervous, he was now. Normally when people take notes of him it isn't a good thing.

"Okay then," Izuku said with passion and enthusiasm, "Now try and make a weapon for me."

He tried to form a spear out of ice from the ocean water. It took him twelve tries but he finally got what looked like a cylindrical object made of ice from the ocean but it was very brittle and didn't stand up to any sort of test.

"I thought you said you can make your ice as hard as metal?" Izuku asked.

"Well normally that is the case…" Hiro replied, clearly let down.

"Well perhaps it isn't your fault then." Izuku replied with a smile.

"What do you mean?"

"Well there could be other factors at play. Perhaps the salinity of the sea water is making the ice weaker and fresh water is stronger." Izuku suggested. "Or maybe you aren't used to the high salt content. Sweat is full of salt and if you want a hero costume in the future, you may want it to collect your sweat so you can store it for future weapons. So we may want to figure out a way through this salinity issue. If it is an issue in the first place…"

"There he goes muttering again…" Hiro thought to himself. "He really does let himself get carried away when it comes to quirks. Better tap his cheek again."

"Sorry about that…" Izuku mumbled after being freed from his muttering. "We can work on that issue on a later date." He then reached into his bag and pulled out a large insulated metal water bottle. "Can you make the water in here boil?"

"That won't be difficult." Hiro said as he reached out and grabbed the water bottle. "Where I live they use me as a walking talking tea kettle where I live." Within seconds of holding the water bottle he managed to bring it up to a boil and then Izuku put in some tea bags.

Izuku then proceeded to have him run with him along the beach. Running on sand was way harder than on pavement and he tired out quickly but that boy seemed to keep on going no matter what.

"Will anything tire out this kid?"

The rest of the day was a nightmare of physical exercise. Having no muscle mass on his body meant the most simple of workouts were torture for him. However no matter how many times Hiro wanted to give up that day, that green haired boy wouldn't let him. At sunset Izuku took him to a hot soba stall and actually bought him dinner. No one had bought him dinner before.

"We only have a month and a couple weeks time before the entrance exam for UA. We have to train every day to make sure that you are fit enough to get in." Izuku cheered with a determined look on his face.

"Why are you helping me?" Hiro asked him

"Because it is the right thing to do." Izuku responded with a smile on his face. "I've learned when someone needs help, you help them."

"I won't be able to shake this boy out of my life." Hiro thought as he walked back to his Tomb. When he got there he was scolded by the staff there for being late and missing dinner. He ignored them and went back to his "room." The land where the definition of luxury was second hand clothing instead of third or fourth hand.

Anyways he sat in his bed and did whatever homework he could do before the orderlies came in and demanded all the lights be turn off and everyone go to bed. He rushed off to the communal bathroom and brushed his teeth before bed. The place was still a mess. They always said they were going to fix it, but it was still full of broken tile, half the showers were non-functional, those that did work never had hot water, and none of the bathroom stalls had doors for privacy. After putting away his toothbrush that should've been replaced a few months ago, but he wasn't given a replacement so he had to make do, he went back to his bed. He was lucky that he had a top bunk instead of the middle or bottom bunk, and he was in the corner. He stripped down to his undergarments because they didn't bother giving them pajamas at the orphanage.

"We aren't allowed out of our rooms past curfew so why bother giving them clothing to walk around with modesty at night? "

Hiro laid in bed staring at the ceiling which had a couple holes in it and paint was peeling off of it. It was his luck that he got a bed next to the window, but the window was drafty and that wasn't fun during winter in a building without heating and all he had was a thin blanket. This made it difficult for him to fall asleep at night.

This was the reason why he started sneaking out at night. However, he couldn't do that anymore because they took the ladder off from the fire escape to prevent kids from escaping the orphanage. They also started having monitors come in the room to make sure everyone was asleep. Even more humiliating they would lift the sheets up to make sure they weren't sleeping naked because a kid accidentally sharted in their sleep and ruined a mattress. That resulted in a beating so brutal everyone in the orphanage could hear the boy's screams.

It was after an hour after the monitor came in and checked him that he managed to fall asleep where Hiro had a nightmare. He never remembered having a happy dream in his life. He dreamed of being abused by his caretakers at the orphanage, he dreamed of being arrested for just being who he is.

Eventually his dream morphed into a scenario where he was being chased by Bakugo and his gang. He tried running away, but he couldn't run at a normal pace, but rather his legs felt like they were stuck in quicksand and were made of Jell-O. However this one time, something positive happened in his dreams. The green haired boy, Midoriya, rushed in and fought Bakugo's gang and beat them up, causing them to run away. Midoriya then reached out a hand and said, "Don't worry Hiro, I'll protect you."

It was at that moment that he woke up panting as though he ran a mile in under ten minutes. His bed was wet from cold sweats, or so he thought. He picked his hand up and noticed that he started to produce ice from his body. He put his hand up and ice crystals and shards started to crystallize along his palms. He then wished for the ice to go away and it did.

It was at that moment that he panicked. His mattress was soaked.

"The orderlies will have my scalp if they find out I've done this! Fuck! Fuck! FUCK! Please go away moisture! Please go away!"

Slowly, the mattress started to dry out and it looked like the water had never touched it. With that he breathed a sigh of relief. He tried to fall asleep as quickly as he could while shivering in the cold, hoping for the next day to come.

He was woken up at six in the morning by the hall monitor slamming the door open and demanding they all be showered and dressed in thirty minutes for breakfast. All the boys in his room quickly rushed out and made it to the communal bathroom.

The usual disaster of 24 boys ranging from 4-19 years in age all struggling to get ready played out, and he managed to get downstairs in time for inspection. However he was approached by one of the orderlies as he stood in line.

"Hiro Fuji! Where were you yesterday for the morning inspection?" The orderly asked.

"Fuck! I didn't present myself yesterday…" "Ma'am. I woke up early and decided to go for a morning walk."

"You didn't meet another member of staff on your way out?" the orderly asked.

"No Ma'am." Hiro said desperately trying not to let his panic show. The elderly female orderly just kept staring at him.

"Very well…" The orderly grunted, "However, since is your fist infraction in 14 years we'll make an exception from the usual punishment, but make sure you notify an orderly next time you leave early in the morning. You won't get an exception the next time this happens."

That caused Hiro to sigh internally, he didn't dare show any relief on his face. "Dear goodness! I thought I was going to be whipped!"

He ate breakfast in silence with the rest of the boys at the orphanage. He saw a new boy, no older than four or five years old go up and ask for more food. Everyone sat there staring at the kid, all with fear in their eyes as he was taken into a side room, trying not to pay attention to the sounds they heard not shortly after the door was closed.

Wanting to get out of the situation as fast as possible, he quickly finished his breakfast and made his way out of the orphanage and rushed off to the beach to meet Midoriya. When he got there he saw him yelling and waving at him in his general direction.

"What is life like for that boy for him to be so happy?" Hiro thought to himself as he walked up, "Bet he has new clothes bought for him and he gets a new toothbrush every month."

When he got there Izuku handed him a lunchbox. Inside was a paper bowl, plastic spoon, cereal, and a carton of milk. Hiro simply stared, he couldn't remember the last time he even had cereal.

"I thought we'd have breakfast together before we begin our training, and I have a special surprise for you once we are done eating." Izuku cheered out with that smile of his. Hiro began to feel uncomfortable because he wasn't used to people going out of their way for him. However he did his best not to appear ungrateful.

When they were done eating Izuku told them that they were going to go visit Backdraft's hero agency. This caused Hiro's heart to skip a couple beats.

"How did you manage to get in good relations with a hero to be invited to train at their agency without being an intern or a sidekick?" Hiro asked, curiosity flooding through him.

He noticed that Izuku seemed to turn a bright red and get extremely nervous.

"What's going through his head right now?" Hiro thought, "I've never seen him this uneasy or uncomfortable."

"Well you see…" Izuku muttered very shyly, a stark contrast to the bubbly attitude Hiro was used to, "My trainer was, no, is a friend of Backdraft's and he pulled a favor for me and asked if I could borrow it to use it to train my flame quirk in a safe environment. And last night I shot both my trainer and him a text. Well you see your quirk got me very excited and I told them both about it and Backdraft decided he wanted to have you over to see it for himself."

"A pro hero? Interested in me?" Hiro thought in disbelief, "None of this makes any sense… I must still be dreaming. A dream that isn't a nightmare for a change?"

Hiro kept up these thoughts as they walked towards Backdraft's agency which wasn't that far from the beach. When they arrived he was a bit nervous to cross the threshold. However Midoriya eventually dragged him by his shirt inside.

"Come on!" He cheered. "Everyone wants to meet you!"

Inside the agency was Backdraft, a couple of his sidekicks, and a skeletal man with blond hair who must be Izuku's trainer because he was the only one apart from the receptionist who wasn't in a hero costume.

"Welcome to my agency Young Fuji!" Backdraft said with open arms, and this caused Hiro to flinch and Backdraft seem to get a bit uneasy as a result.

"No it is okay," Hiro responded quietly, "I'm just a bit shy…"

"Nothing to be shy about kid." The yellow haired skeleton responded in a kind voice. "With your quirk, you can be an amazing hero if you put the effort into it. A quirk like yours can save many lives and bring light to those in their darkest hours if trained in the right manner."

"Why did he phrase that statement that way?" Hiro thought to himself. "Does he know where I live? Does this man have access to some government database and research and found out where I live?"

"Ummm. Thank you sir…" Hiro whispered, "I still kind of want to become a lawyer or a prosecutor…"

"Well anyways…" Backdraft said looking between the skeletal man and Hiro, "Let's head out on back to where the training grounds are. Show you around."

They proceeded into the backyard of his facility where there was a cinderblock structure where they set fires and put them out. Backdraft would have Midoriya start fires in the building and have Hiro start putting them out.

After a while, he managed to perfect a sort of "water gun" style of attack which was a constant hose of water coming from his palm. After that Backdraft had him focus on a high intensity pressure washer style of attack that came from his fingertips. He barely managed to get the hang of it before he had to go back to the orphanage. He was told to come to the facility after school tomorrow and continue his practice.

Backdraft had taken a great liking to him. He said that if he got into UA, he'd gladly take him on as an intern, or have him as a sidekick when he graduated. He never really gotten motivation from anyone before, and here he was getting it from a pro hero no less.

Soon after that, every day after classes he would head over to Backdraft's agency to practice his water quirk with tutoring from his sidekicks when Backdraft himself wasn't available. They all seemed to like him a lot. Yet, he still felt like an outsider. Izuku was very popular over there too as well, but that was mainly because he was perfect for controlling fires which was very popular for a fire fighting focused agency.

However at the end of everyday he had to leave to go back to his Tomb. There he was treated like every other orphan. He knew he had to keep his training a secret from everyone there. If word got out that he was training his quirk to become more powerful, he feared what the orderlies would do to him. He was getting nervous that people would notice he wasn't as skinny anymore. He was starting to develop muscle mass and some body fat thanks to the meals Izuku provided. He was an excellent chef, and Hiro never had such great food in his life. However, that was not saying much because the food at the orphanage couldn't really qualify as one star. The monitors never really put any effort and it was not uncommon to eat food well beyond its expiration date.

Izuku kept trying to ask questions about what life was like where he was living. Hiro kept dodging them because he was too embarrassed to admit that he was living in an orphanage. More than once Midoriya offered to have him spend the night at his place, that he could sleep in his bed and he would sleep on the floor. This suggestion twisted Hiro's stomach into knots. Someone inviting him to stay at his house? Offering him their bed? There was no way Hiro could accept however, the monitors would freak out and discipline him like crazy if they ever found out he didn't return for the night. He might not be allowed back into the orphanage at all. Then he would truly be homeless.

However, once he got into UA he'd be free of them all. He wouldn't visit the orphanage on the weekends. But this all depended on him doing well enough on the written and practical exams to get a full ride scholarship. His dreams were scrapped if he didn't do well enough for that. If he was good enough to get in, but not enough for the scholarship, he wouldn't be able to go to UA. He wouldn't be able to afford the required uniform for instance without the extra money.

However things at school weren't still going as good for him. He had to deal with Bakugo and his gang. Not to mention the teachers who also had it after him. Not long before the entrance exam, he was trying to run away from Bakugo and it was with luck that he ran into Midoriya who asked him why he was running. However, Izuku had his answer when he saw Bakugo run around the corner and he paused at the sight of Midoriya.

"DEKU YOU BASTARD!" Bakugo shouted at the top his lungs. "You are going to stick up for this weakling!?"

"Wait!" Hiro thought, "Does Bakugo know Midoriya? HOW?! WHY!? Apparently he hates him way more than he hates me! HOW?!"

"How many times do I have to tell you Katsuki? I've moved beyond childish nicknames. We're technically adults now and aren't in Kindergarten anymore for crying out loud." Izuku growled back. Hiro was shocked, he had never heard genuine anger coming from Midoriya before. His eyes were narrowed with deep anger. "Have you been tormenting Hiro? Have you replaced me as your punching bag? Have you been making his life a living Hell?"

"Wait!? Was Bakugo a bully to Izuku before me? How is that even possible? I remember Bakugo tormenting me as far back as the start of 1st grade when we first met, and I don't remember seeing Midoriya there once. I'm sure I'd remember knowing someone with multiple quirks."

"So what if I have?" Bakugo snapped while spitting on the ground in the process. "What are you going to do about it?" To which Izuku actually smiled.

"I'll just have my mom call your mother, you know they are still friends and hangout on the weekends sometimes. I'll have her inform her of your behavior outside of class." Izuku said this with a smile on this face and Bakugo's face turned into one of horror and shock.

"I remember what your parents did to punish you when they tried to make us friends as little kids. I remember them taking your door to your room away. I remember them forcing you what clothes you had to wear. Who knows what insidious ideas Auntie Mitsuki has thought up in the meantime should you step a toe out of line again? I might suggest to her that she take all of your underwear away save one pair and make you wash it out every night before bed. But if I decide to go to the police, they'll charge you as an adult for illegal quirk usage and assault."

"I can't believe what I'm hearing! Their mothers are friends? Is that how Izuku knows this kid? Also does Bakugo actually look afraid for once?"

"Deku you bastard!" Katsuki screamed at the top of his lungs with explosions coming from his hands. Then all of a sudden the explosions stopped. No matter how hard he tried the flames and sparks wouldn't appear.

"Remember Katsuki, one of my quirks allows me control over fire." Izuku said in a sing song voice, "If I don't want the flames from your explosions to appear, I can make that happen. Without those flames, you don't have the shockwave from the explosions which are mostly responsible for the damage you cause." This caused Hiro to stare agape at Izuku. He had never seen someone stand up to Bakugo with such confidence. "Also you are a very poor match up against Hiro here anyways. He could put your explosions out in an instance with a blast of water once he is trained up enough. Just wash all the built up sweat on your body, which is actually kinda disgusting thinking how much you sweat in order to use your quirk like you do."

"You act like you are better than me Deku!" Bakugo shouted, but before he could get another word in, Izuku interrupted him.

"Yes! I am better than you Bakugo!" Izuku cried out. This had the effect of wiping all emotion off of Bakugo's face. He clearly wasn't thinking that Izuku would agree with him.

"I'm a better human being than you. I have better morals. I have a better attitude on life. Do you think the number one hero program would want to tarnish their stellar reputation with a villain like you? My guess is no. Also, if I hear you give Hiro here an ounce of trouble from this day on, you'll have me to deal with, and remember I have a way of getting to your mother."

With that Izuku grabbed Hiro by the shoulder and walked him away from Bakugo who stood there with his eyes wide open, and completely speechless.
