"And if you add those two numbers what will that bring the equation up to?" the math teacher asked. "Owen?"

"Fifteen?" the boy said.

"Correct," the teacher said with a nod. "Now, I'd like one of you to try and solve this equation," she said, writing it out on the board. She looked at her students and said, "Julia? Want to give it a try?"

Though she didn't want to, Julia nodded and stood, picking up a dry erase marker in the well. She uncapped it as she studied the equation and realized she wasn't sure how to start before Mrs. Everett was talking to her with a smile.

"Take your time, but you know the method to figuring this out," the teacher said.

"Oh! I know now," Julia said with a rapid nod before she turned her attention back to the board, smiling sheepishly when the other students were laughing at her tone of voice. She wrote the number three and began the first line for the letter x when her hand started to shake and slid down to the bottom of the board.

"Julia?" Mrs. Everett asked in concern seeing that.

Moving her hand up to the board again, Julia could hear the men arguing in her head and she tried to push herself to write again when she felt someone slamming into her body. They seemed to have gone right through her, and she could only cry out at the sudden pain in her head before her eyes were rolling back.

"Julia!" Mrs. Everett cried out as the girl began to collapse. She was just able to grab her and keep her from hitting her head on the floor and told her other students, "Stay in your seats."

Running over as the teacher was laying Julia on the floor, Peter said, "I can call for the nurse."

"Stay with her," Everett said firmly since she knew the two were friends. "And if she wakes up make sure she stays laying down."

Nodding, Peter turned to Julia and took her hand so he could surreptitiously feel for her pulse. He was relieved when it was there and said her name to see if she would open her eyes. When she didn't, he frowned for a moment and looked up as their teacher was calling to them.

"They're going to call an ambulance," Everett told the students. "The dean wants you kids to head to the cafeteria and stay there for the rest of the period."

"Mrs. Everett-" Peter said.

"You need to go too," the teacher said. "Don't worry," she reassured the boy. "The nurse is going to come up to see if she can't do anything and the ambulance is probably on its way. I'll stay with her."

Though he wanted to insist he stay, Peter nodded and got up to grab his backpack. He watched Julia while he walked out and then left as slowly as he could, lucky in the teacher not telling him to go. When he got down to the first floor he stepped out of the building and saw people running across the quad, taking off towards them at a sprint.

Inside the classroom, Julia gasped as her eyes flew open and she was about to speak when her math teacher was calming her down while she talked to her gently.

"Take it easy," Everett said. "You fainted but I called the office and they're sending an ambulance and calling your parents."

"I'm okay," Julia said, though she still felt a little hazy.

Everett was about to speak when the door to the classroom flew open and the girl's mother was rushing in.

"Julia," Beckett said, going to her.

"I'm okay Mom," Julia said. "I'm… fine…" feeling a little ashamed because she was starting to cry. She sat up and wrapped her arms around her mother as she sobbed into her chest, feeling comforted but still unsettled before she felt her father running his hand over her hair.

"What happened?" Skye asked since she had followed the two while Brad was waiting for the ambulance in the administration office.

"I had asked her to come up to the board to solve a problem and her hand started to shake, badly," Everett said, knowing the woman after hearing about what had happened with Julia the day before from her French teacher. "She seemed to recover but she froze and gave a sort of yell like she was in pain before she collapsed."

"I'm glad you helped her," Skye said before going over to Julia and kneeling where Castle had been. "Better?" she asked her gently.

"A little," Julia said, turning and about to reach up to her cheeks to dry them as she'd calmed down. Before she could do that her father, next to Beckett, was reaching up and gently drying them for her with his handkerchief. "Thanks," she murmured.

"Not a problem," Castle said. "What happened."

"There was another man, with Matthias," Julia whispered. "They were arguing and the other one went right through me and that's when I fainted."

"How are you feeling now?" Beckett asked.

"Can I get up?" Julia replied immediately with her own question.

"Do you feel you can without falling?" Skye asked her. At the girl's nod she said to her parents, "I think you should let her; there are desks if she needs a chair."

With her mother and father helping her as she stood up, Julia was a little afraid her legs would become wobbly. But she managed to stand and walk with her parents' help out of the classroom and to the elevator. As they were waiting for it, she told them, "You don't have to hold onto me so hard."

"Sorry sweetie," Beckett told her. "We were worried about you."

"I had a feeling something was going to happen," Skye said as she was putting away her phone. "I texted Brad to tell them to take a look at her."

"But-" Julia started to say when they stepped into the car.

"They're just going to check you out," Castle interrupted her.

Sighing Julia said, "And then I'll go to English?"

"No," Beckett said firmly. "You're going-"

"With us," Skye said. She wasn't surprised when Beckett immediately looked at her and said, "To the station; you want to keep an eye on her don't you?"

"And we have a case to solve," Beckett said. "She can't be at the station."

"I could Mom," Julia said immediately, not surprised when her father was shaking his head.

"You need to be resting," Beckett told her firmly. "We'll take you home and go back." She looked at Skye and seeing her frown said, "You think she should come with us."

"Just to the station," the investigator replied. "Not just because of both men with her now; but because I know you two won't be able to concentrate worrying about her."

Sighing Beckett looked at her husband and when he shrugged said, "I want to talk to Brad first."

They had reached the first floor by then and stepping out, Castle stopped Julia and said, "I should carry you to the building."

"I can walk Dad," she replied immediately.

"Julia!" a voice cried before they were looking down the hall to see that Mari was rushing down the stairs.

"Hey, I'm…" Julia started to say before she trailed off when her friend threw her arms around her.

"Peter told me what happened, are you okay?" Mari asked tearfully.

"I am," Julia replied, embracing her back.

"We need to take her Mari," Beckett said gently, since kids were leaving the classrooms at the bell ringing.

"Peter," Castle said when he soon after saw the boy. He wasn't surprised he ran over to them, along with Julia's friends, and he calmed them down while they were asking her if she was okay.

"I'm fine now, but they're going to take me somewhere," Julia said, not surprised when her mother gave her a look. "Could you guys get my homework?"

After the kids had assured them they would, Beckett urged them to go to their next class before she turned to Mari who was hugging Julia again as she spoke.

"Please be careful," the girl said.

"I know, and I will be," Julia replied. "This just happened all of a sudden. But I'm feeling a little better. I'll see you later?"

"I'll bring her homework," Mari said with a quick nod. She hugged her again and left, hurrying back down the hall to go to her next classroom.

"Come on," Castle told Julia. He and Beckett held onto her while they walked across the quad, seeing Brad shortly after as he stepped out of the administration building.

"You're okay?" the chief asked.

"Yeah, a little weak though," Julia said in obvious annoyance.

"The paramedics are here," Brad told her parents. He watched them taking her inside and he turned to Skye asking, "What happened?"

"I didn't have a chance to ask her," the investigator replied. "But if she fainted, I would assume Leo either jumped her body… or he tried to and shot through her fully. With her being so young she wouldn't have a way to control it. Especially if it was sudden."

"But she'll be okay," Darnley asked, having stepped up to the two when they'd entered the office building.

"She will," Skye replied rapidly. She then turned to Brad and said, "You'll need to allow her to come to the station."

"To help with the case?" Brad said in surprise.

"No, to be there in case Matthias or Leo tell her something," Skye said. "Or want to guide her to help you."

"Then they're going to try and jump her again," Darnley said with a frown before the investigator was frowning herself and shaking her head at the same time she corrected him.

"Not after that," Skye replied. "I managed to get to Leo and told him that if he speaks to her again, just speak to her."

"And if the town council hears about this?" Brad asked.

"Take her to the breakroom, if anyone asks tell them Kate and I made you allow her to come," Castle said, walking up to them.

"Have they checked her out already?" Brad asked.

Nodding Castle said, "She's fine, but she's still saying she feels a little weak."

"Skye said you want her to go to the station," Brad said.

Giving the investigator a brief glance, Castle said, "Yeah, we'll take her. But what about Manaudou's home?"

"We can go there before the station," Skye said firmly.

"I'll… have to talk to Kate," Castle said before he went back to the office where the dean had had them take Julia. He saw the paramedics were gone and his wife was talking to the dean before she came over to him. "Skye wants us to take her to Manaudou's house," he murmured into her ear. He wasn't surprised when she jerked back a little to look into his eyes before she was leaving. He went over to the dean and Julia and said, "We'll be taking her home again. She won't be in trouble for that will she?"

"Oh no," the man said, shaking his head. "She assured me her friends would give her notes and her homework. And she's doing very well in her classes."

"I'm glad to hear that," Castle said.

"I hope you'll be alright Julia, and be rested for the rest of the week," the dean told her.

"I will sir, thank you," Julia replied. When he'd left them alone, she said to her father, "I kinda wonder where I'm going," not surprised when he quickly responded.

"We're going to Manaudou's house," Castle said.

"Who-" Julia started to say as she wrinkled her nose in confusion. She cut herself off and then said, "Oh, you mean Leo."

"That's his last name," Castle said, nodding his head. "Is he with you?"

"Yeah, I coaxed him back," Julia replied.

"Coaxed? Why?" Castle asked.

Sighing Julia said, "I felt bad for him, Matthias told me he was drunk when he was talking to his girlfriend, and they were friends. I told him I could help him."

"You're not helping two people Julia," Beckett said, walking into the room.

"But Mom-" Julia started to say with a frown.

"We'll talk about this later," Beckett said firmly. She wasn't surprised when her daughter still looked unhappy and she turned her attention to her husband saying, "Skye's insistent."

"She knows Leo is with me," Julia said stubbornly.

"Where are your grandmothers?" Beckett asked when she and her husband turned to their second oldest.

"They couldn't control it," Julia said. "But they're with Matthias and Leo now, watching them really closely so I'll be okay Mom. I promise."

Beckett nodded and was about to ask if she needed help getting to the car when there was a knock on the doorway. She turned with Castle before their daughter was gasping in reaction to who was there.

"Oh, Ms. Grey! I forgot about dance class," Julia said with a groan.

"I heard what happened," the teacher said with a slight smile. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Julia replied. "But…" she started to say before she looked at her parents.

"She's going to have to miss the class today," Beckett said. "She's feeling a little weak and we want her to rest."

"Of course, I'll just have everyone dance basic steps. A refresher," Grey replied. "Will Eliza be joining us?"

"We'll have her come home right after school," Castle said.

"And I'm guessing Mari as well," the teacher said. At Julia's rapid nod she smiled and said, "Then I hope we'll see you tomorrow."

"I hope so too," Julia said before she said bye to her teacher. "Mom, Dad-"

"Yes, she can come over, but I'm not so sure about her spending the night," Beckett said.

"We'll see," Castle said when Julia was about to speak. "And I'll text David and ask about her coming to dinner."

"And spending the night," Julia said softly.

"Yes, we'll ask about that too," Beckett assured her before she looked at the doorway with her husband since the other three were coming up to the doorway.

"Are you ready to go?" Brad asked.

"I am," Julia said rapidly.

"She is," Beckett said when everyone looked at her.

"Kate…" Skye started to say.

"No, I believe you when you say she'll help us," Beckett said. She then turned to her daughter and said firmly, "But you're staying in the car."

Though she wanted to ask how she could help there, Julia heard her grandmother telling her to agree and she quickly did so. Her father picked up her backpack; that Peter had luckily brought for her; and she put on her coat with her mother's help. With Beckett's arm wrapped around her tightly, she walked out of the building, looking behind her at Matthias and Leo and wondering what they wanted her to find so badly at the latter's house.
