Chapter 11: Flight from the Tomb
SO! IF YOU ARE READING THE SERIES FOR THIS FIRST TIME, YOU KNOW THAT THIS STORY HAS UNDERGONE A PARTIAL REWRITE. THIS CHAPTER HAS PLANS FOR A MORE INTENSIVE REWRITE BECAUSE I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH MY ABILITIES OF WRITING FIGHT SCENES AT THE TIME OF THIS CHAPTER'S POSTING. SO THIS CHAPTER HAS JUST BEEN TOUCHED UP TO SHOW ALL CHARACTERS AS 18 YEARS OLD. A FORMAL UPDATE WILL COME AND WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE RELEASE OF A NEW CHAPTER.
Hiro could hear noises. It sounded like it was morning time again, given there was a lot of activity going on outside his cell.
Hiro hadn't been fed in the three days he was trapped down there causing him to feel week and light-headed. It was only thanks to his quirk he wasn't dead because of dehydration. He managed to will the air in the damp and humid basement to consolidate into his mouth. The only downside is the water created by his quirk tasted awful.
Hours later, or so it seemed, Hiro couldn't really tell the passing of time other than through sound in his windowless cell, he heard the sound of gunfire…
The Heroes were making their move. In an abandoned warehouse a couple streets down was a team of Heroes waiting to move in. Among them was Ryukyu and her intern Nejire Chan, All Might, Fat Gum and his intern Sun-Eater, Night-Eye and his intern Lemillion along with his sidekicks Centipider and Bubble Girl, Edgeshot, The Wild Wild Pussycats, Manual, several unnamed pro heroes, a detachment of loyal police officers, and finally the students of the soon to graduate Class 3-E along with their homeroom teacher. In addition there were members of UA staff as well: Ectoplasm, Midnight, Present Mic, Eraserhead, Cementoss, All Might, and Recovery Girl.
Also given that they knew they planned to burn the entire place down they brought in Backdraft along with all five of his fire-fighting sidekicks. He had taken a personal issue with how Hiro was being treated, having grown fond of the boy when he trained at his agency.
In fact it was extremely easy to secretly convince so many heroes to join in the operation. Fat-Gum, Night-Eye, and Ryukyu had all been contacted in secret through their interns and it didn't need much convincing to get them onboard with the operation, even with Night-Eye not being on good speaking terms with All Might.
In addition to the heroes there was an entire police force of volunteers waiting to enter the building. They had planned on having the group in two separate places. One here near the orphanage and another at the police station itself. However, they regrouped once Ragdoll confirmed Zabatsu/Waira was deep in the basement of the orphanage.
The day before, Night-Eye had used his quirk on one of the orderlies while they were out shopping and got a general consensus of the underground of the building. Everything above ground was known to the orphans, and the ones who were punished knew the basement.
However, there was an additional nine floors below the first basement level of the orphanage was a fully functioning criminal base. Unlike the upper floors, everything was in pristine working order.
The pros thought it was crazy. If Waira/Zabatsu put enough effort in maintaining their facility above as well as the one below, they would have never been caught.
"Okay people!" Tsukauchi yelled, calling everyone to attention. "We are about ready to commence our operation. Thanks to recon done by Edgeshot, Eraserhead, and Night-Eye, we can confirm that this indeed one of the Zu'Kuvma operating bases. We can also confirm that the leader of Zu'Kuvma, Waira, is none other than our own Abe Zabatsu, and he is currently inside the facility!"
This causes murmurs of anger from the police officers decked out in SWAT gear. "Anyways we will have several different operating teams. Team Alpha will consist of: Recovery Girl and Vlad King. Team Alpha's objective is to attempt to peacefully extricate Hiro Fuji from the arms of the facility. If he is truly sick and unable to go to school and they refuse to let him see Recovery Girl to instantly fix his condition, that gives us grounds to arrest the staff for child abuse."
"We fully expect them to refuse us to come up with a varying range of excuses. That is when we expect them activate their plan of burning the facility down due to them being backed into a corner. If they try and stop Team Alpha from running through the orphanage to help stop the fire, Team Alpha will give the go ahead for Team Beta to go in."
"Team Beta will be led by Backdraft and will consist of him and his sidekicks. In order to prevent suspicion or raising any red flags. Backdraft and his sidekicks will be on patrol in the nearby area to prevent suspicion of wondering why they are responding so quickly. To deny entrance for fire-fighting heroes to fight a fire is grounds for arrest and all those who try and prevent entrance."
"Either way they cannot win. If they grant entrance to Team Beta or not. They'll seen the abuse first hand and the condition of the facility and see there is clear child abuse going on. That is when they call in backup from fellow heroes."
"Team Gamma will be led by Cementoss. Given that his agency is around the corner from the orphanage."
Cementoss hung his head in shame. He had taken great offense and shame that all the child abuse, and a villain lair was LITERALLY around the corner from his agency. He was taking this mission personally, and not just because a future student of his was in danger.
"Team Gamma will consist of the remaining heroes Cementoss, Ectoplasm, Midnight, Present Mic, Eraserhead, All Might, Fat Gum, Sun-Eater, Night-Eye, Lemillion, Bubble Girl, Gang Orca, Edgeshot, Tiger, Ragdoll, Pixie Bob, and Mandalay. Vlad King will join Team Gamma while Recovery Girl will transfer to Team Delta. Team Gamma will head down into the underground base to rescue hero and to apprehend any villains. They will be joined by SWAT Teams Alpha and Beta."
"Team Delta will consist of Ryukyu, Nejire Chan, Centipider, and SWAT Teams Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. They will guard the facility from the outside to prevent suspects from escaping and assist in first aid of any abused orphans we find inside and treat those with any treat those suffering from the fire. Any questions?"
Naomasa was answered with silence. "Okay then, phase 1 will begin in one hour once all the kids have gone to school. Team Epsilon will be handling those kids and assisting them in finding them new homes."
Everyone began to form into their groups. However two people went off into a corner where they could not be overheard.
"Is it really true you passed it along to that child instead of Mirio?" Night-Eye asked All Might.
"Yes."
This caused Night-Eye to let an angry scowl appear on his face. "You can't be serious?! You never even came to my agency to even evaluate him? Instead you gave it to someone with multiple quirks?! How do you know HE wasn't involved?!"
"We did a full investigation into the boy." All Might replied simply, "I had everyone who knew about HIM help in a covert investigation into the boy. You yourself volunteered your agency to assist if I recall Mirai."
Naomasa who noticed and figured what the two were going to be talking about walked over to join them. "Sasaki, Toshinori is right about the boy."
This caused Nighty-Eye to look at Tsukauchi. "How can you be so confident about the boy?"
"For one it is because of him that we are here in the first place." All Might answered, "He has had suspicions about this boy's living conditions for a while, and brought them up to me."
"Not only that, but he also managed to get us the evidence in the first place to do this raid." Naomasa added. "Are you still thinking he isn't a worthy successor Sasaki?"
"Yes…" Night-Eye responded coldly, "Togata is still a far superior candidate in my opinion."
"You know full well that being a bearer of this burden is to pass along the quirk to the person who will be best at strengthening it Mirai." All Might sighed, "Togata has an amazingly powerful quirk. However, he will not need the 'extra boost' in order to inspire others to succeed and bring hope to others. He'll do amazingly wonderful things on his own. Midoriya not only has Togata's same desire to help and inspire people, but he also presents the best opportunity to strengthen the quirk to new heights."
"Yet you still trust this boy's story?" Night-Eye responded, clearly not wanting to back down.
"Listen Sasaki." Naomasa sighed putting a hand to his head, "Do you doubt your own investigation into the teenager?"
This elected a moment of silence from Night-Eye. He had pushed his two sidekicks and his intern to the extreme into investigating this boy. Looking up everything they could possibly get their hands on, even the most meaningless scraps of information. He of course did not tell his subordinates exactly why he was fascinated or intrigued by this particular middle schooler, but hey knew well enough not to bring up any objections.
"I admit I couldn't find any damning evidence or any evidence out of the ordinary suggesting that the kid is just an ordinary kid." Night-Eye grumbled. He was very unhappy that he and his sidekicks were unable to find any sort of evidence against Midoriya. "Even though one of his quirks may be very similar to Rikiya Katsukame of the Shie Hassakai, and he still has his quirk according to my investigations into that group…"
"Listen old friend." All Might sighed, "What's done is done. I have already given it to him and he's begun to make it his own. It already appears that IT is already enhancing his current quirks to new extremes."
"Yes, I was already made aware of him being able to heal permanent injuries." Night-Eye growled, still upset. "Is that the reason why you gave him the quirk All Might? You hoped that he'd be able to fix you up permanently?"
"Listen Mirai!" All Might shouted at first, this caused a few glances in their general direction, and All Might toned his voice down to a whisper. "Are you seriously grasping for straws? You clearly don't want to like the boy no matter what evidence of his platinum-hearted nature is thrown your way. You just can't get over that I found someone better than who you sought out. Are you seriously going to disregard every piece of evidence that is thrown your way?"
"I'm not saying that!" Night-Eye growled back, "You should've waited till this Midoriya kid entered UA to see how he would perform in the Hero Course. You should've still given Mirio a chance, but you didn't!"
There was silence before Night-Eye continued. "I'm not ungrateful towards the boy. With this raid we'll be able to get excellent evidence that will help with my investigation into the Shie Hassakai. But still…"
It was at this point that it hit All Might. "You saw Young Midoriya in your vision those years ago didn't you…"
Night-Eye's silence and sudden change to an uneasy expression was all the confirmation All Might needed.
"And you are upset that you once again because you think you failed to change to future again. That's why you won't let this drop will you?"
"Yes…" Night-Eye responded, looking down at the ground. "Toshinori… As soon as you told me about this Izuku Midoriya and I saw his picture. I strived to do everything in my power to prevent you from passing the quirk onto the boy. You just took an extra step down that path to make that vision a reality!"
"What's done is done." All Might replied with a smile on his face. "What we need to focus on is the here and now. We can't be worrying about a future that may or may not happen. Mirai Sasaki, Night-Eye… You'll always have my friendship, no matter what we disagree upon."
"Thank you Toshinori…" Night-Eye gulped, still very uncomfortable.
"We better get into our positions." Naomasa responded, "We have orphans to save and a crime boss to take down. We can finish this conversation later…"
Recovery Girl and Vlad King arrived at the front door of Twist Orphanage.
"Are you ready Chiyo?"
"One is truly never ready for things such as this…"
Vlad knocked three times on the door as greeted by a female orderly who was shocked to see two heroes on the front steps.
"I am Sekijiro Kan, also known as the Pro-Hero Vlad King, and Hiro Fuji's homeroom teacher at UA. I'm here to see the Head Matron of the orphanage to discuss the boy. I'm here to discuss his transition into the UA Dorm system. We sent an e-mail yesterday to let you know of our arrival and that this meeting would need to take place in Hiro's acceptance letter which he was told to hand to the staff here."
"I also planned on heading to his school later to discuss some things with him as well. However, they informed me that he was called in sick so I brought our head nurse Recovery Girl with me. Young Fuji can't afford to miss his final days of High School due to being sick. After all the school told us he still has yet to take his final exams."
A look of panic flashed across the orderly's face.
"Just show me to the boy's room where he is. Don't want to have him over exert himself. I'm a busy woman. I don't like leaving my school without their head nurse for the day, but I can make an exception for poor Fuji here." Recovery Girl cooed.
"I'm afraid I can't allow you to enter…" the orderly stammered with clear fear in her voice. "With someone your age, I just couldn't risk getting you sick…"
"That's no problem." Recovery Girl cooed, "I'm around sick boys and girls all day, 5 days a week. Now going to be 7 days a week with the new dorms that are now complete."
"But ma'am I can't risk-"
"Are you denying me the right to see my charge?" Recovery Girl growled.
"No I'm not." The orderly responded, "He isn't your charge. He's the responsibility of the orphanage. I'd like to ask both of you to leave the premises at once."
"He's good as my charge now that he is officially recognized as a student of the UA High School." Chiyo countered back, "Besides, denying a child an immediate cure to their ailment is grounds for an investigation for abuse! Will you let us in peacefully and allow me to cure someone you are responsible for by your own admission is ill or should I have to inform the police?"
"I'm going to have to ask you both to leave." The orderly panicked, "You are now trespassing."
"That's it!" Vlad growled and the woman turned to him. "I'm having the police come here to have you arrested for abuse."
"You can't do that!" the woman protested, "I'll have you arrested for trespassing!"
"You have denied a sick boy treatment for his illness." Vlad explained, "You have openly committed child abuse or be an accessory to whatever is going on in here in front of two pro heroes."
In a lower floor beneath the main entrance…
"Shit! Those heroes are here for Fuji!"
"They've called the police!"
"Quick! Make sure it is our officers that come here! Intercept the call!"
"Too late! We need activate Protocol 13!"
"We were waiting till this evening!"
"We don't have the time! We need to activate it and get out of here!"
"OFFICERS! THANK YOU!" The woman shouted, "ARREST THESE HEROES FOR TRESSPASSING!"
"I'm sorry ma'am but we were called here to arrest someone for child abuse." The cat like officer responded as he approached.
"Officer Sansa, nice to meet your acquaintance again." Vlad King nodded,
"Yours too Vlad." Sansa nodded back, his bell giving a slight ring
"WHAT?!" the orderly shouted. "There has been no abuse going on in this orphanage!"
"Is it true that you openly denied Recovery Girl here access to heal one of your charges in an instant?" Sansa inquired.
"Yes!" The woman shouted, "I'm under strict orders not to let anyone see the boy, he is very contagious."
"Recovery Girl is well known to be immune to nearly all diseases including the common cold…" Sansa growled, "Everyone who knows her knows that. Besides, not allowing a charge under your care to be instantly cured is grounds to be arrested based on the violation of rules and regulations set out to govern institutions such as this one. Put your hands behind your back. I'm taking you in."
"NO!" the woman shouted and she slammed the door in their faces and they heard running footsteps and screaming behind it.
"Vlad! Recovery Girl! Assistance Please!" Sansa called out, and Vlad knocked the door off its hinges. Not long afterwards they heard an explosion in one of the upper floors and smoke and flame spewed out of a window.
"This is Officer Sansa! I need pro-hero and emergency police backup at Twist Orphanage Immediately!" Sansa called into his radio, "Arson and many cases of possible child neglect at Twist Orphanage! Request Fire Fighters at once!"
Not long afterwards Backdraft and his sidekicks arrived in his vehicle and rushed inside after the police and heroes.
In a control room underground.
"SHIT!" Zabatsu cried out, "Sansa is one of Tsukauchi's! And how the hell did Backdraft's team get here so fast!?"
"I'm sorry Lord Waira sir!" a generic looking man replied, "Our cameras are tracking a large number of heroes and police officers coming in on the location! Over 10 Tsukauchi heroes, All Might among them are coming out of Cementoss' agency! In addition a large number of police officers have been spotted coming out of an old police warehouse!"
"But that's supposed to be my warehouse! Only I was supposed to know it was owned by the police for training MY officers! This has to have been planned! There is no other explanation!"
"Sir! Backdraft's team has arrived! They are starting to put out the fires!"
"WHAT?! We were supposed to have destroyed the facility above ground and all of that evidence! Is the secret entrance into the facility compromised?"
"I'm afraid so sir." The official replied timidly, "Our emergency tunnels aren't comprised though. We can get out through the other entrances."
"Fuck…" Zabatsu moaned, "We must leave immediately! Purge the entire computer system! We must not leave any evidence behind!"
"Sir what about the boy?!"
"He should be dead by now! Leave him!"
Backdraft and his sidekicks were walking around the area near the orphanage just like they had planned. When they got the signal on their phones that there was a fire at the orphanage, they rushed on over there to the scene.
Backdraft looked up at the dilapidated building with disgust. He saw smoke and flames billowing out of a windows on the fourth and fifth floors.
"Okay! Let's head on in people! There is still likely kids in this place that need saving!" he called out to his team.
They all rushed in and were greeted by the sight of Vlad King fighting an elderly female orderly who's quirk had turned her arms into whips and was attacking the pro hero, trying to keep him at a distance.
Not taking any chances Backdraft placed one of his nozzled hands out and attacked the woman.
"HIGH PRESSURE!"
A jet superheated high pressure water came out of his nozzle and impacted the woman, forcing her into the wall.
"And people say you are useless in combat." The Blood Hero chuckled as he picked up the unconscious woman and took her outside were police were starting to come in.
"Okay team! Let's head upstairs now!" he called out to his sidekicks.
They rushed up stairs heading straight to the fourth floor where they were greeted by a wall of smoke. Backdraft immediately called forth one of his sidekicks as she used her quirk to detoxify the smoke and make them able to proceed.
They barged into a room, knocking the doors off its hinges into what appeared to be a dormitory. Backdraft quickly was able to note that there were way too many bunks in the room to be fit for code and a few other violations as well.
He began spraying down the flames from the sources along with his sidekicks. There were a couple boys still in the room, covered in burns and blackened faces. Once the fires were put out in the room, he directed one of his sidekicks to take them out the window and down the fire escape. However, the kids protested in fear at the idea of going out onto the fire escape.
"NO! WE CAN'T GO DOWN THERE! THEY'LL PUNISH US IF WE GO DOWN THERE!" the boys screamed at the top of the lungs as the sidekicks attempted to get the boys out of the building. They punched, kicked, and screamed in protest, all of which made getting down the rusty and not up to code staircase much more trickier than it needed to be.
Once they got down to the end of the fire escape, the sidekicks noticed that they couldn't climb down because the ladder had been removed. They were as good as trapped on the side of a burning building.
The sidekicks looked around in panic. Normally they'd be fine with a fifteen foot jump, but they weren't risking such a move while caring screaming injured children. Fortunately that was the time Cementoss and the fellow heroes from his agency arrived.
"CEMENTOSS!" one of the sidekicks yelled out, getting the pro's attention, "A set of stairs please! They removed the ladder for the fire escape!"
"No problem!" the Cement hero replied as he placed his hands on the ground, creating a set of stairs for the sidekicks to run down, as a few of the pro heroes ran up the newly minted staircase and up the fire escape to the burning floors.
Back in the burning building, Backdraft and his remaining sidekicks were quickly putting out all the fires. Once they were all put out, he had one of his sidekicks use his quirk to run a forensic analysis and determine the source and cause of the fire.
"No doubt about it," the sidekick grumbled, "This was definitely and act of arson, the electrical systems were set short circuit and ignite. What's worse is that it appears they were designed to do this remotely with some sort of trigger. They didn't have time to do the whole building though. Otherwise the whole building would've caught up in a massive conflagration."
"Let's just be glad we managed to get all the kids out and that didn't happen." Backdraft replied. "We need to head outside and help administer first aid to all the kids that were trapped inside."
To say Vlad King's blood boiled with what he saw inside would be an understatement when he ran back inside the building after dropping the whip woman with the authorities. He ran from room to room, searching for people that were in need of rescuing.
However, he ran into a few orderlies that attacked him onsite. As soon as he entered the kitchens, the chef immediately picked a cast iron pan and charged him. Vlad quickly dodged the man's attack and threw a quick punch to the man's head knocking him out cold.
However, he didn't have time to relax as another orderly rushed him. Her eyes glowed a shining orange and Vlad felt fear come up his entire body.
"A fear inducing quirk? Luckily I've faced things far scarier than this woman."
Ignoring his fear he quickly charged the woman who looked shocked that her quirk was having no effect on the pro hero as he dodged her knife and disarmed her, knocking her to the ground in the process.
When she didn't move, Vlad checked to make sure she was still alive. He felt a pulse, but the woman was definitely knocked out. Vlad decided to leave her and take care of the rest of the staff in the orphanage. Before leaving he took a quick look around the kitchen.
The place was full of health code violations. He wasn't an expert on all of them, but he was sure as Hell that having extension cords plugged into extension cords, having live mice running around, and seeing EXTREMELY dirty surfaces along with rusted faucets were among them.
He ran back outside into the main hall where he encountered a group of orderlies all heading to the main entrance to escape the fire. However, upon spotting the pro hero, they all attacked him with their quirks.
One orderly shot an elongated arm his way, but Vlad grabbed said arm and used it to pull the orderly to him. Unluckily for this orderly, he became a human meat shield for the pro as he took a bunch of needles that were shot at him in his back, rendering his entire body limp.
Vlad discarded the body of the injured orderly and rushed the remaining three. He first went after the spike shooter. He activated his quirk with the help of the support item on his wrists, needles plunging into his hand to release a torrent of blood that he hardened into a shield which took another barrage of spikes.
Once he got in range with the spike shooter, he used his blood shield as a blunt weapon to knock the spike shooter unconscious. He was then quickly attacked by one of the remaining two orderlies who placed his hands on him sending electrical shocks throughout his body.
Ignoring the pain he delivered a quick punch to the man's face knocking him out. The final remaining orderly deciding they had enough ran outside but was quickly apprehended by the police that were beginning to swarm the building.
He saw Night-Eye and All Might come in through the doors followed by the other pro heroes.
"SEARCH THE BUILDING TOP TO BOTTOM! WE NEED TO GET ALL THE CHILDREN OUT OF HERE!" All Might Bellowed at the top of his lungs.
"No Need All Might!" a voice called as the owner came down the stairs, "My sidekicks managed to get all the children who weren't at school out of the building. But the orderlies attacked us and escaped through secret passages!"
"I can attest to the same thing." Vlad concurred, "I've been attacked by multiple orderlies myself. We can safely assume that any orderly we encounter will be hostile."
"Understandable since there is clear evidence of rampant child abuse going on in the facility," Backdraft concurred, "My agency will remain outside in case any fires reignite. It was clearly an act of arson to kill all the children and destroy all the evidence of abuse that has been happening here."
"Very well!" All Might responded, "Search the facility for secret entrances. Ryukyu!" The Dragoon here nodded her head, "Head outside and take to the skies. If there are secret passages into this building, then there must be other exits around the area."
"Very well." The dragoon hero nodded, "I'll leave my intern with you. I can trust her safety to you."
"All right everyone split up!" All Might shouted, "We need to find the entrance to the secret tunnels!"
A couple minutes later, Night-Eye activated the entrance to the underground facility. He wanted to pretend he was looking, and didn't know in advance where to go. As soon as he opened the secret door behind a bookcase, villains poured out, but were attacked by the heroes instantly.
Izuku Midoriya was pacing the living room of his condo. Yanagi and Iida had come over to keep him company during his house arrest. He just couldn't keep still. Yanagi had suggested that they play a few board games.
They had started to play Monopoly, which Iida was terrible at because he couldn't well deceive and take advantage of his opponents when they were hemorrhaging money. It was when Izuku managed to pull both a monopoly on the red and orange properties, that the TV flashed to a breaking news story.
"BREAKING NEWS! Heroes raid quirk orphanage!"
Izuku felt his blood run cold as he dropped the fake money he was holding. He flung his chair aside as he ran to the TV, his friends not far behind him.
"According to our sources, a pair of heroes arrived here at Twist Orphanage. Not long afterwards police arrived on suspicious of child abuse. Not long after the police arrived, a fire, suspected at the current time to be arson was set, not long after the police and heroes were denied entry"
"Fortunately the Fire Fighting Hero Backdraft and his sidekicks were patrolling the area and were quick to respond, and the fire was put out."
"Meanwhile, a team of pro heroes and their sidekicks have gone down into what appears to be underground villain lair."
"You're kidding?!" Iida cried out, "The orphanage was a front for a villain base the whole time!?"
Yanagi however had no words as she put her hands over her mouth. Inko only had eyes for her son as he had collapsed on the floor and curled up in a ball shaking. She knelt on the floor beside him.
"Don't worry 'Zuku. The Heroes will save him. You know that."
"For once I don't trust the heroes to do their job…" Izuku wept, and he had signs of getting up and Inko knew what her son was thinking.
"You are not going out there young man!" She cried out, and her son looked at her pleadingly.
"No, I'm not changing my mind." She quickly went and turned the TV off.
"MOM!" Izuku cried out.
"I know it's hard for you not knowing what is going on, but you have to trust the heroes to do their job. I know you'll just run off to the orphanage and get in trouble just like the sludge monster. You just can't stop yourself from helping the people you care about the most. I know you Izuku…"
Inko then turned to Iida. "Iida you are more than welcome to stay the night here. We have an extra bed in Izuku's room that is meant for Hiro once he is saved from this mess. You can stay there tonight if you wish. I would appreciate another set of eyes on Izuku to make sure he doesn't sneak out to help his friend."
"I'll take you up on offer Mrs. Midoriya." Iida responded with a bow. "I know very well that Midoriya will most likely try and run off and escape."
"Thank you very much." Inko sighed, "I'm so grateful both had a school holiday. Oh, and you are more than welcome to stay overnight if you want to Yanagi, I just can't offer you a space in the boy's room for obvious reasons."
"It's okay, I have to go home anyways. My parents want me to be home for dinner anyways." Yanagi replied politely.
"Well thank you for coming over anyways." Inko sighed, "I'll get lunch ready, just keep an eye on my son please."
"Watch out! We got heroes in here!" A thug shouted as he went for his gun and started shooting at the heroes. However his bullets were stopped by a barrier that Cementoss raised to block them.
Nejire Chan immediately shot a spiral of energy towards the man knocking him out on his back while Sun Eater restrained the man with his tentacles while he was quickly handcuffed by the police officers.
Unfortunately, the man's shout was heard and soon all the bad guys were radioing each other the news.
"Well crap they know we are here." Fat Gum growled,
"Let's keep moving!" Eraserhead yelled, "There's a child who's likely been tortured for the past three days."
"I'll send my clones to scout ahead." Ectoplasm stated as he launched dozens of clones from his mouth as they ran ahead.
All Might however rushed ahead at full speed into the facility. The remaining pro heroes splitting off into different teams.
They were quickly running through the facility and apprehending every villain they came across. However, most villains they came across were already knocked out by All Might. They were literally falling a trail of bodies as All Might rushed in to find Lord Waira.
"Come on now, which way do we go Night-Eye?!" Fat Gum called, he Night-Eye, Nejire Chan, Sun Eater, Lemillion, and Manual had split off into their own separate group.
"This way!" Night-Eye called as they took a left turn at a T-intersection.
"Come on!" Fat Gum sighed, as he looked as they came across another corridor full of unconscious bodies "I was hoping for a good fight, but All Might has taken care of every would be villain in our path. I swear he fights as if he was written by some fan fic writer who has an obsession with over powered characters."
"How many floors have we gone underground so far?" Lemillion asked,
"Nine I think." Sun Eater answered, "How do we know that Hiro is alive?"
"We simply have to believe it." Fat Gum answered as used some of his fat reserves to power up a punch to penetrate a steel blast door that descended to block their path, "Welp. I'm going to have to go to Lulu's Bakery tomorrow to replenish my fat reserves after this mission."
"Come into team, this is Ragdoll, come in team." A voice came through their radio
"This is Team Night-Eye." Fat answered.
"Is anyone near the twelfth floor?" Ragdoll called through the radio.
"We are only on the ninth…" Fat Gum responded. "We are supposedly close to Hiro's location now."
"We are still searching the seventh." Cementoss' voice called through. "We've taken control over what appears to be a server room. We were just able to stop a data purge, but we lost some information."
"We are still sweeping the third." Mic responded. "We managed to ambush a bunch of villains in a barracks of sorts while they were still trying to collect personal items that could identify them."
"We are passed the thirteenth and are on the fourteenth" Eraserhead responded, "We came across a control room and managed to apprehend some villains of our own."
"We are still searching the second floor." Midnight called, "We managed to capture their infirmary wing. We have their doctors and their wounded in our custody. It's disgusting how they treated their own villains and not the orphans under their care."
"Just a heads up. Our head suspect is starting to climb floors and his heading to the surface. He's about a kilometer out North East from the orphanage." Ragdoll said through the radio.
"That's about where I am." Ryukyu answered, "I've already spotted a few suspicious people that are too well dressed to be leaving an abandoned building."
"I'll start sending officers your way." Tsukauchi responded, "Ragdoll, grab some of the heroes here on the surface and join up with Ryukyu."
"Understood." Ragdoll replied and they were again on their own.
"I'm glad we are quickly cleaning up the place." Lemillion added as the group ran. "Just how big is this place anyways? And how did they manage to hide it for so long?"
"Probably because the head boss is a high ranking police officer." Night-Eye scowled, "Sometimes to fight crime Mirio you have to fight from with-in."
They turned another corner, and they went down another shorter flight of stairs. Down this hallway was a bunch of doors.
"This must be their prison wing." Night-Eye stated, "Mirio, look through every single one of these doors and see if Hiro is in any of these cells."
"Yes boss!" Lemillion responded, and he quickly put his head through each of the doors. They were all empty except for one near the end. "I found him sir!"
Fat-Gum then ripped the door off its hinges and they rushed in. They found Hiro unconscious slumped and chained against a wall. They all rushed in, the BMI Hero forcibly ripping the chains off the wall.
Nejire quickly picked the boy up and started checking for vital signs. "He's still alive but barely… He's suffering from dehydration. Sun Eater! Give me one of your liquid food supplements from your supplies!"
She carefully poured the liquid down Hiro's throat, and he woke up looking her right in the eyes.
"Do… Do…. Do I know… you?" Hiro stuttered.
"No you don't silly!" she replied with a smile, "But take it easy little bro! We need to get you out of here and to a hospital. We are getting you out of here!"
"Quick!" Manual said in a panic voice, "We have stabilize him before we move him. He was hurt really bad. Stay still little man, this stuff is going to sting.
Hiro nodded as he struggled to stay conscious through the additional pain. "Nejire Chan, we need to get him to the surface as quickly as possible!" the Normal Hero said turning to the intern.
Nejire Chan nodded, "No need to worry Manual I'll get little broski to the surface quickly to the surface. I need to rejoin Ryukyu's team after all!"
She held the injured boy in arms as she started to levitate and then fly up the path she came directly to the surface, and out of the secret entrance to the front gates were the first responders arrived in full force.
"Is there a free ambulance!?" Nejire Chan called out to the crowd of first responders.
"Over here!" a pair of paramedics called and the two heroes rushed over with Fuji.
"Oh my goodness!" Recovery called out once she saw Hiro. "What the Hell have they done to this poor child?! It's too dangerous for me to use my quirk on him. He needs to get to the nearest hospital as fast as possible!"
Hiro was quickly loaded back into the ambulance, and not long afterwards it wailed off to the nearest hospital which was being flooded with all the other orphans from the orphanage. They had gone to all the schools the kids were going to and took the kids to be checked up for signs of abuse and maltreatment.
Nejire Chan wasted no time and quickly flew off to where Ryukyu was last reported to be. However, when she arrived they saw both Ryukyu and all the Wild Wild Pussy Cats had been knocked out.
"RYUKYU!" Nejire called out as she shook her mentor. Slowly the number 9 hero opened her eyes.
"Waira…" She moaned, "They came out of that building and attacked us. Shot us with some bullets that instantly deactivated our quirks, and then we were easily knocked out after that."
"It's not your fault Ryukyu." The bluenette replied, trying to console her mentor.
"Yes it is!" she yelled back. "If I was better prepared we would have caught him! We had one of the top ten most wanted villains in our grasp and he got away."
"He isn't as free as he once was." Her intern reminded her. "His real identity is out now. The police should be raiding his personal residence right now. He can't go back to being a police officer and playing both sides of the game."
"Come on Ryukyu." Nejire said softly. "Let me take you to the nearest hospital so we can figure out what they did to make you lose your quirks for a moment."
With that Ryukyu slowly got on her sidekicks back as she flew her to the nearest hospital. They got there at the same time as Hiro's ambulance. The lobby of the hospital was full of young boys in shabby clothes. Hiro was given priority and taken straight to the ICU.
Back outside the orphanage, and several hours later the heroes had completed their raid of the facility. They had captured over 200 members of Zu'Kuvma Crime Syndicate. They were being loaded into paddy wagons and taken off to jail to await trial and the injured were taken to the nearest villain hospital.
"This is going to cause such a mess when the media gets hold of Waira's true identity." Naomasa moaned rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"Hey! I'd rather deal with a media shitstorm any idea if it meant a load of children weren't being abused." Sansa piped up…
"You aren't wrong there." Tsuragamae added in. "Although this is going to be very unpleasant."
"No doubt we will have to investigate EVERY SINGLE police officer on the force." Naomasa moaned, "That's going to put all of my other investigations on the back burner."
"To purge our department of the undesirables I'd say it is worth it." Sansa added. "How are we going to gain the trust of the public and the heroes back?"
"I don't know, but we have a lot of work to do." Tsuragamae answered.
The trio got out of the back of the police van they were sitting in and were bombarded by a bunch of flashes from cameras as reporters piled onto them with questions.
"Is it true that the boys in this orphanage were being abused?"
"Was this orphanage really a front for a villain group?"
"Is it true that one of your own police officers owns this orphanage?"
"How do you plan on cleaning up your police force?"
"Are you putting quirk erasing on the cuffs on the boys so they don't' attack anyone?"
"How can we trust the police to watch over our children?"
"Are the boys receiving proper psychological counseling?"
"Are the future villains being raised here being taken to jail?"
"Where are the boys being taken to now?"
"How will the boys be relocated?"
"How do we know that the boys aren't being secretly trained to work for Zu'Kuvma?"
"How come this orphanage has been allowed to operate without inspections?"
"Are you sure it wasn't one of the boys who started the fire with a dangerous quirk?"
"Sansa wasn't joking… This really is a media shitstorm." Naomasa thought to himself before he started answering questions.
A/N: I hope you all enjoyed that chapter. When I was writing it I noticed a lot of similarities between this and the Shie Hassassaikai raid from the anime/manga. I never planned on this raid lasting many chapters like that story. Besides, they didn't have to deal with a quirked individual making the walls act like a waterbed in an earthquake here. Also, All Might is pretty over powered and I can see him taking out all the villains in the base as quickly as he did in the USJ. Hence why they didn't have to constantly have to fight villains on their way down through the lower levels.
