A/N #1: The lyrics in this chapter are from the songs Spirits of Ancient Egypt written by Paul and Linda McCartney, from the Wings album Venus and Mars, and Sinkin' Soon written by Norah Jones and Lee Alexander, from Norah Jones' album Not Too Late.

A/N #2: Receiving the feedback for the last chapter I was really pleased to get it so let me get to my thank you for that! Mb (Great to see you thought the chapter was a nice filler update with them decompressing after the case and Julia helping Matthias and Leo have closure at the end. I wasn't surprised you thought it was good seeing Alexis and Louis going to the house to give Julia support. And I wasn't surprised either that you were curious about Julia hearing that conversation, but I was just having her think of Beckett as her mother of course. Happy to see you thought the first half was nicely done! You're welcome for sharing the first half! It was really nice to see that you thought the second half was another good update. And I was really relieved to see that I did put the pieces together showing what Julia was thinking and feeling about what happened, also understanding that some mother will do to their children. Great you thought it was a nice look at them relaxing, along with Julia writing in her diary and the same with Skye singing. And I was pleased that you thought it was nice they were finalizing their plans for Valentine's Day with their family's permission as you put it, for them to have romantic days together. Nice to see you thought the second half of the chapter was nicely done! And you're welcome for sharing!).

Thanks for the review, I loved reading it and I appreciate the time taken to write it out and send it my way!

A/N #3: The title of this chapter is a lyric from the song Party Party written by Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, Robbie McIntosh, Hamish Stuart, Chris Whitten and Paul 'Wix' Wickens, from the 2017 remaster of Paul McCartney's Flowers in the Dirt album.

Have A Party Tonight

"Is everyone here yet?"

"I don't think so."

"What?"

"Mom told me to come and get you," Julia said simply to her little sister. She couldn't help smiling when Eliza turned from the window next to the front door, appearing to be annoyed and told her, "Really, she wants you in the pool room since it's warmer."

"I know," Eliza said with a sigh.

"Who're you waiting for?" Julia asked, holding her hand out to her sister.

"Maddy and Dani," Eliza said immediately. "Oh, Keo too but I don't know if he'll play with us too. Sometimes he likes to play with his dads and Jake."

"We'll see," Julia replied when they were reaching the kitchen. "I got her," she told their parents as they were getting the appetizers that were going to be their dinner ready.

"Hey," Eliza said in annoyance, turning to her sister.

"That's what they told me to do," Julia said with a shrug, letting go of her sister's hand while their mother was walking around to her.

"She's right, I did," Beckett said. "Go into the pool room and check on your dad's decorations." She watched the girls hurry to the door as they giggled before she turned to her husband behind the island.

"I didn't go overboard," Castle said while he was looking at his wife and had quickly spotted her look.

"No, but we didn't really need balloons," Beckett replied as she walked around to where he was working.

"Oh, it's not that bad," Castle said. He laughed briefly when his wife rolled her eyes before they turned their attention to the food.

"It's almost three," Alexis said, coming into the kitchen with Josie ahead of her.

"Mama three," the baby said. "Dada."

"I heard," Castle said, smiling down at her since she had gone straight to him. "I'd give you a hug but I'm a little busy." When the baby was wrapping her arms around his leg he said, "At least she caught what I wasn't saying."

"Would you want me to take over?" Alexis asked after she and her mother had shared a brief look.

"It's okay," Castle said. "But you might need to distract her."

"He needs to go to the fridge," Beckett explained in amusement when Josie wasn't letting him go. Once their oldest had scooped their youngest up in her arms she said, "I really hope we're finished."

"That was it," Castle said, taking the platter he'd made to the fridge to put away. "But they should be here by now."

Looking out the nearest window at the same time her husband was, Beckett saw the weather appeared to be fine and she said, "Give them a little."

"Sure," Castle replied absently as they'd moved to wash their hands. As soon as his hands were dry, he was reaching for his wife when he paused because there were footsteps from the pool room, and they looked to see it was Skye before she spoke.

"No one's here?" the investigator asked.

"You too?" Beckett asked in mock annoyance.

"No, I heard him asking," Skye said with a smile. "And I think they might be a bit late too." She looked at the island and said, "Do you have enough food?"

"Yes," Beckett said in amusement.

"How many of us are there?" Skye asked.

"Thirty-two," Castle said. When the investigator pretended to add on her fingers he said, "I know, but we wanted to get the other families we knew here."

"How is Genevieve?" Skye asked.

"Good, she's five months now," Beckett said.

"I get the feeling there's something you're telling me with that," Skye replied, studying her friend.

"They're bringing dessert," Castle explained.

"Cupcake? Cakes?" Skye asked immediately.

"Cake," Beckett replied. "And they're not sure the gender yet either."

"Nice… though why didn't you do that?" Skye said, looking back and forth between the two.

"Because we don't mind talking to people," Castle said. "I'm not really deriding them for doing that, I know it's for Peter and Clive."

"Makes sense," Skye replied before she heard the chime for the gate. "Okay, I'll tell the-" she started to say before they were looking at the pool room while the dogs were running out and the girls were behind them.

"Stop running," Castle called to them.

"We're walking fast," Julia shot back to him before she laughed when her father did.

Hurrying after the rest of their family and friends, Castle reached the intercom first and asked, "Who's first?"

"I think we're all here," David said on the other end.

"Then come on in," Castle replied before he went to the living room to make sure it was the five families they'd invited.

"Okay Rick," Beckett called to her husband. She closed the gate and said to Julia and Eliza, "Please wait," not surprised when the former was replying first.

"I didn't want to," Julia said jokingly.

"The kids are rushing up," Louis said.

Laughing with her daughters, since his tone of voice was exaggerated, Beckett opened the door and ushered all the kids inside before she said, "Take your things off before your parents come in."

Taking the box Isaac was holding, Castle said, "The fridge?"

Nodding the man said. "We haven't seen it."

"Not even the outside?" Castle asked.

"No, we didn't want to risk it," Isaac said a little sheepishly.

"I don't blame you," Castle said reassuringly. He went down the hall to the kitchen and hurriedly put the cake box away among their dinner. When he turned, he saw the others were walking down the hall and said, "You guys are ready?"

"Very, Mari's been driving us crazy describing the room," David said jokingly.

"Yeah, you guys have too," Brad said.

"We're going there now," Beckett said in amusement before she and her husband were leading the others to the pool room. The room had remained open, so they were going straight inside, and she could hear the others exclaiming over it, especially the other kids.

"This is so cool," Peter said to his partner.

Nodding her head Julia said, "I told you, and I'm so glad you could come."

"Pick a chair and put all your stuff there," Beckett was telling everyone.

"And feel free to use the slides kids," Castle said. "But you have a ton of lifeguards watching so make sure you don't slide down to anyone that's in the water."

Taking off her robe, Julia said to Peter and Clive, "How's your mom?"

"Good," the latter said with a smile. "Though it's kind of weird seeing her stomach still."

"Wait until she's further," Mari said as she and Julia were sharing a lounge chair. She was about to speak again but her dance partner was speaking and rapidly to her surprise.

"How big is she going to get?" Clive asked.

"Not that big," Julia said hurriedly. "But don't be surprised if she's pretty big at the end."

"Your moms?" Peter asked.

"Yes," Julia and Mari said at the same time.

"But let's go to the pool," Julia said quickly. "Ready?"

"Yeah… are we going into that pool?" Clive asked as he indicated where Beckett was taking Josie and Autumn Carter was leading her twins.

"No, it's going to get way too crowded," Julia replied before she led her friends; after getting Eve and Jacob; into the larger pool.

"Are you gonna go there?" Eliza asked Maddy.

"Yeah?" the little girl asked in obvious slight confusion.

"You don't have to," Eliza said.

"Hold on sweetheart," Castle said, walking up to her and placing his hand on her shoulder. "You need to ask her dads first."

"She can go where she wants," Darnley said. "You don't need to go into the kid pool Maddy."

"Where are you going?" the little girl said, turning to Eliza.

"To the big pool, that's where I like to go," she replied.

"Can I go with her?" Maddy asked her father.

"Yes, and I'll go with you," Darnley said.

"I was going to see if I could go with Kate and Josie," Castle said. He glanced back at the smaller pool and said, "I might sit on the top of the slide." He wasn't surprised when the carpenter laughed, and he watched the three leave him for the entry before he hurried to the smaller slide. "Hello," he said to his wife and their youngest, not surprised when the baby laughed before Beckett was commenting on his tone.

"Are you aiming for something?" she asked in amusement.

"Yes, I'd come in if I could but since I can't, could I get a kiss?" Castle asked.

"Dada?" Josie said in a kind of questioning tone.

"Yeah, come here," Castle told her before he reached for her. Once she walked over to him, he shared a kiss with her before he was pulling back in his surprise when his wife leaned over to him. "Really?" he asked. When she just gave him a look, he was quick to move back and they kissed swiftly. "Níos mó?" he asked her.

Smiling, since he had asked 'any more,' Beckett shook her head and said, "Níos déanaí," which meant later. She cupped his cheek for a moment and then turned to Darnley since he had moved towards them.

"Are we cramping your style?" the carpenter asked. He laughed when Beckett splashed him and was surprised when Josie mimicked her. "Oh look what you've done," he asked in mock annoyance.

"She's never done that before," Beckett said, hugging Josie to her.

"And how can I stay mad at that?" Darnley asked in amusement because the baby was looking at him. "You're a cutie Josie."

"Coo," the baby said. "Mama!" Josie then exclaimed, making all of them jump before her father was speaking laughingly and making her laugh.

"I guess she wanted to make sure you agreed," Castle told his wife.

"I think so," Beckett replied before she kissed Josie's cheek.

Swimming up into the grotto, Jacob stood in the middle of it before he said, "Again, really cool."

"I know; again," Julia said. She then said, "What do you guys want to do now?" to her friends since they were crowded on the bench seat.

"Should we dive?" Eve asked.

"You know if you want to go on the slide we can," Julia said in amusement.

"Then why did you ask what we wanted to do?" Peter said.

"Because I wanted to make sure," Julia replied easily. "Come on," she told them before she was slipping past Jacob. Once she was outside and further in the pool she said, "Hey Dad."

"Hey, your mom ordered me to check on you kids," Castle said with a smile.

"Ordered?" Julia asked, unable to help smirking.

"She did," Castle replied. "Are you guys going to go to the slide?" he then said since he noticed the others were leaving the grotto behind her.

"Yeah, they want to try it," Julia replied, looking behind her. "Are you going to go with us?" she asked, afraid that was the case.

"No, just watch from here," Castle said. He smiled and then told her, "You knew I was going to do that."

"I did," Julia said, smiling. She then swam to the side of the pool and waited there for her friends before they headed to the bottom of the slide.

"What're you doing?" Castle asked his wife in surprise when he looked to his right and found her there.

"Joining you," Beckett said simply. She kissed his cheek and then said, "And watching the kids. Unless you mind me here."

Though he knew she was teasing, Castle shook his head and then said, "You already know the answer." He nearly laughed at her nodding once and did his best to resist the temptation to kiss her a lot harder than he had already. To distract himself he glanced down the pool, seeing his father-in-law had joined Darnley and Lily at the smaller one. He smiled and turned back to the slide while Julia was calling down to them.

"Are we set?" the girl said.

"You can see," Beckett said before she looked at the bottom of the stairs where Macca was standing and whining.

"Macca," Julia said firmly. "Sit," she said before the wolfhound was doing so.

"You better go first," Mari said. She smiled when her friend whirled around and said, "I know, but he's probably not going to calm down until you're down there."

"And it is your pool," Eve commented.

"Alright," Julia replied as she could tell the others were okay with that. "But just this one time."

"I didn't think we'd go all together up here," Peter said. "Well, not all the time anyway."

Hearing Macca below whining; joined by JoJo; Julia smiled and said, "I better go." She went down the slide, crying out in joy on the way before she was in the water. Resurfacing she cried out as Macca was suddenly leaping into the water and she said, "Wait, come back to the shallow part."

Beckett swam over to her to help her, and they went to the entry before they were standing and crying out at the same time as Macca shook. "That was unexpected," she said.

"I wonder why he was so worried about me," Julia told her mother. "He saw me before and he hates the water."

"I don't think he did this time," Castle said, joining them.

"I guess," Julia said, scratching behind the Wolfhound's ear. She hugged him and told him, "You have to stay out. Will he be okay being out?"

"I'll get a towel," Genevieve said.

"I will," Isaac said immediately.

"Easy guys, you're our guests," Castle told them. "And I can get a towel." He went over to the storage cabinet, grabbing one for the dog and going to him to start drying him.

"You're not going to give him a bath?" Martha asked her son.

"Not right now," Castle said, since they'd added a dog bathing room in some empty space the architect had found. "Tomorrow."

"I thought you were going to the city?" Carter said.

"I just remembered," Castle said.

"We can give him his bath," Eliza said eagerly, hurrying over to him. She hugged Macca around the neck and turned to her grandparents saying, "We will," before her grandfather was replying.

"I'll watch them," Jim said to Martha.

"Well, someone will need to… wait did you say watch?" Castle's mother asked in surprise.

"Yes," Jim said, nodding to their middle granddaughters.

Turning to them, Martha smiled seeing the girls had taken over drying Macca and said, "I see. But I'll hold Josie."

"She could help us," Eliza said.

"I think she'll be alright just watching," Beckett said.

"She might have to have a bath," Julia told her little sister when their mother took the towel to put aside.

"Go back swimming," Castle told the girls. "Your friends are by themselves." He smiled when the two hurried back carefully before he turned to his wife while she was walking back to him. He wasn't sure why he kissed her when their parents were with them but did so briefly when she responded to him. When they'd parted, he said, "Josie," simply and swiftly since he didn't want their parents to comment about the kiss, especially his mother. The smile on his wife's face let him know she was aware of what he was doing but he was relieved when she was responding to him shortly after.

"Yes, we wanted to take her with us," Beckett said, turning to her mother-in-law since she had the baby. She took Josie into her arms and kissed her cheek asking the baby, "Want to go swimming?"

"Eh," Josie replied. She smiled when her parents laughed, and both moved to kiss her before she was being carried to the pool. "Lizzy!" she cried while her sister was jumping in the water on the side.

"Let her swim with her friends," Castle told her, kissing her cheek. He watched Beckett set her down before he reached for her other hand. He and his wife watched the others in front of them for a while before he walked into the water and turned around saying, "Come and swim sweetheart."

"Yeah," Josie said. "I go Mama?"

"We're going right now sweetie," Beckett said, kissing the top of her hand before they walked to Castle. She let her husband take their youngest before she followed him as he walked inside further. She was surprised when Clive swam over to him before she said, "What's wrong?"

"No just…" the boy said a little shyly. "Could I see how you help her swim?"

"Sure," Castle replied, knowing why he was asking. "But do you mind?" he asked the baby jokingly. He smiled when Josie did so to him and told Clive, "She doesn't," a little startled when the boy turned to his brother and called to him suddenly.

"Hey Peter, wanna see how we have to help our sibling?" the boy said.

"I think Mom and Dad will do that," Peter said slowly, swimming over to them. He smiled as Castle was helping Josie swim before he said, "When will she swim herself?"

"Not for a long time," Castle said.

"Are you guys wondering about the gender?" Beckett asked them.

"Yes," Peter said. When the writer looked at him questioningly, he said, "For a while I thought Mom was gonna have twins."

"She's normal for where she is in the pregnancy," Beckett replied, unable to help smiling slightly.

"He's been worried," Genevieve said, entering the water with her husband. "But I told him I'd be fine if it was."

"Is it?" Peter asked in obvious concern.

"It's not," Genevieve said firmly. "Just one baby."

"Keep swimming you two," Isaac said. "We'll help you with the baby once we get to that point."

"Still liked watching," Clive said.

"I'm not surprised," Isaac said laughingly. He watched the two go back to the other older kids and said, "Was Julia as concerned?"

"Yes," Castle and Beckett said at the same time.

Smiling at her husband, Beckett said, "But once we showed her the sonogram, she wasn't too panicked about Eliza being one half of twins." She was about to continue before Genevieve was laughing and asked about Eliza herself.

"She didn't think the same when you were pregnant with Josie?" the architect said.

"She did but when she saw the sonogram too…" Beckett replied before she trailed off. "Eliza," she then called to her daughter when she was trying to get out of the pool by climbing out.

"Sorry," the little girl said with a smile.

Nodding to her daughter before she swam to the side, Beckett turned back and saw hers and Genevieve's husbands had started swimming and she said to the woman, "Okay?"

"Yeah, the baby started kicking three days ago," the architect replied.

"Congratulations," Rebecca said, she and Lily having gone into the pool. "How'd your boys react?"

"They wanted to feel it, but they were a little hesitant," Genevieve replied, putting her hands on her stomach. "So it took a little convincing, but they finally did."

"What did they think?" Lily asked.

"They were amazed, Clive jumped back," Genevieve said, smiling.

"So they're settling in with you and Isaac as their new parents," Beckett said.

"Peter hasn't stopped calling Isaac dad," Genevieve replied while she nodded. "But they tried to get me to tell them when the baby starts kicking. And Peter's started telling it he loves it… Clive too."

"That's sweet," Beckett said with a smile since she remembered Julia doing that and Eliza during her second pregnancy.

"It is, but I had to tell them I couldn't really do that while we were at work and school," Genevieve said, smiling herself. "That was Clive," she added, not surprised when the women with her laughed before Rebecca spoke first.

"I'm not surprised," the lawyer said. "Though it's great he's so eager."

"Isaac thinks the same," Genevieve replied. "He was a little more worried."

"It seems to be misplaced," Lily commented. "He was obviously okay with the marriage."

"I know," Genevieve said with a slight laugh. "But Isaac and I wanted this to go well." She shrugged and said, "We're just surprised at how much it is."

"Mommy!" Eliza cried then.

"Excuse me," Beckett said before she swam to where her second youngest was standing and pushed herself up onto the platform. "Are you okay?" she asked her, wrapping her arms around her.

"Yeah, will you go on the slide with me? And then go diving?" Eliza asked, leaning her chin on her stomach. "Oh! And go in the grotto."

Beckett laughed and said, "Alright, but you need to go with your daddy too."

"I will, but not yet," Eliza replied simply. "First with you and after I'll go. No! We'll go with Daddy together and you can give him another kiss." She smiled widely at her mother's laugh and went up on her tiptoes to share a kiss as Beckett leaned down before she was speaking teasingly to her.

"Is there anything else sweetie?" she asked her daughter.

"No," Eliza said with a giggle before she turned as her father was swimming over. "Did you hear me, Daddy?"

"Yeah," Castle replied. "Are you going to start?"

"We're going right now," Beckett said before they stepped out and walked together to the slide. She made sure Eliza didn't run up before they were at the top and she watched her daughter head down.

"I'm okay Daddy," Eliza said with a smile while she resurfaced to find him next to her. "We gotta move! Mommy's going to come down."

"Right now," Castle said, trying not to show his amusement at her tone since it reminded him so much of her mother.

After the two had moved, Beckett went down the slide herself and stayed underneath to swim to the platform where they were waiting. "Do you still want to go diving?" she asked her.

"Yep," Eliza said. She turned to her father and said, "I'll go with you after Daddy."

"Sure," Castle said, watching them go to the back of the grotto.

"I was wondering why you didn't have a diving board," Brad said, sitting on the edge of the platform after he'd swam up to it.

"We had thought about it but when the designer told us about the grotto, we went with that being the diving board," Castle replied, smiling since the older kids had gone on the top of it and were starting to jump. He then looked at his friend and said, "Is everything set?"

"It will be, and you're finished so don't worry," Brad told him.

"Julia's worried," Castle explained.

Surprised at first, Brad then realized why, and he nodded saying, "She doesn't need to be, let her know."

"We will," Castle said, watching as Julia was jumping into the pool. He waved at Eliza when she was going to the edge of the platform and called, "Have fun."

"I will," the little girl said.

Watching her jumping, Castle smiled and said, "Sophie will be doing that soon," not surprised when his friend gave him a look out of the corner of his eye before he responded.

"Josie too," Brad replied quickly, smiling to himself at his friend turning swiftly after to watch Beckett diving. "You've still got it bad," he teased him when she soon resurfaced, and Eliza splashed exaggeratedly to her.

"And you?" Castle said easily.

"Well…" Brad said simply.

Castle was startled at his friend's almost nonchalant tone and turned to see Lily was walking around to them, holding Sophie.

"Dada," the baby squealed as she reached out to him.

Castle smiled when Brad hurried to his wife and then turned his attention back to his family, seeing his wife going into the grotto. He stepped off the platform into the water and swam up into the grotto, surprising his wife and their second youngest as Eliza was crying out in mock surprise. He laughed with Beckett at her cry before he kissed the little girl's cheek and exchanged one with his wife before he sat with them at their daughter's urging. He wrapped his arm around Beckett's shoulders while Eliza was telling them about what she wanted to do next as they watched her with smiles on their faces.

"That was fantastic," Skye said with a smile when she leaned back in her chair. "Though I have a sneaking suspicion I know what's coming next."

"Your guitar is here," Isaac replied.

"That was her though," Skye said, indicating her wife. The investigator was about to speak again when Eliza was holding out her guitar and she couldn't help laughing before Beckett was calling to her daughter.

"Sweetie don't force her to sing yet," she said, motioning Eliza to her.

"Sorry," the little girl said.

Reaching out to her to stop Eliza before she could go over to her mother, Skye said, "Don't worry, I was planning on doing that anyway."

"What're you gonna sing?" Julia couldn't help asking as her little sister went over to their mother and sat on her lap.

"Well, I'll take requests from everyone," Skye said.

"There are a lot of us here," Jim pointed out to her.

"I know, so then why not by family?" Skye asked. She then turned to Carter and Autumn and said, "I'll ask you two first."

"What can you play exactly?" Carter asked.

"Just acoustic, but Mary can play some music on the phone for me, and I'll be good to sing it," Skye said.

"Spirits of Ancient Egypt," Carter said. When he saw the others were either laughing or smiling, he asked, "Too obvious?"

"We do like the song, not because it has all that much to do with archeology," Autumn told them.

"I understand," Skye said. "I might not be using the guitar tonight," she said, looking at her wife pointedly before Mary was responding with a smile.

"I think you realized," the doctor said. "You did tell me it was just in case."

"Basically," Skye replied. "Ready?"

"You're serious?" Carter asked.

Laughing with the other adults, Skye did her best to calm down before she said, "Yeah, I was. I'll be asking you four after."

"Wait," Clive said abruptly. "What about the cake?"

"It's still a little soon for dessert," Beckett said since Isaac and Genevieve had turned to her. "A couple songs and then we'll clean up and get the cake."

"Boys," Genevieve said gently to her sons when they groaned in disappointment. "Well have the cake soon, don't worry."

"You know we could cut into it at the very least," Skye said.

"No, it'll get stale," Peter said, his brother nodding in agreement with him. "And we want to hear you sing."

"Think of your song," Skye told him with a smile, not surprised when both boys were nodding that time. She laughed under her breath for a moment before something came to her and she leaned over to her wife.

Watching the two whispering, Julia turned to Mari and asked her quietly, "What're you gonna ask for?"

"I have to talk to my family," the girl replied. Mari then smiled and said, "But I have an idea."

Julia nodded as her mother; who was on her left side; gently touched her arm before she leaned into her to speak to her rapidly.

"You need to think of our request," Beckett said.

"I will," Julia said, having to talk as fast as her mother had since Skye was talking to everyone.

"Sorry, I just needed to make sure Mary was joining me," the investigator said, looking at her wife.

"I am," the doctor said, rolling her eyes though she smiled soon after. "But no more delaying," Mary then said. When her wife nodded quickly, she then played the music and she watched Skye starting to sing before she sang with her when she was needed.

You're my baby and I love you
You can take a pound of love and cook it in the stew
When you've finished doing that
I know what you'll want to do
'Cause you're my baby and I love you

I'm your baby, do you love me?
I can drive a Cadillac across the Irish Sea
But when I've finished doing that
I know where I'll want to be
'Cause I'm your baby, and you love me

Spirits of ancient Egypt
Shadows of ancient Rome
Spirits of ancient Egyp
Hung on the tele-
Hung on the tele-
Hung on the telephone

You're my baby, I know you know
You could sell an elevator to Geronimo
And when you've finished doing that
I know where you'll want to go
'Cause you're my baby, I know you know

Spirits of ancient Egypt
Echoes of sunken Spain
Spirits of the ancient Egypt
Hung on the phone a-
Hung on the phone a-
Hung on the phone again

After the music ended, Skye and Mary nodded their thanks for the applause and the former said, "Okay, that's one song done… Lennoxes?"

"Love of My Life," Isaac said, taking his wife's hand.

"Is that agreed on by everyone?" Skye asked in surprise.

"Yeah, we liked how you sang it during the concert," Clive told her since she was looking at him and his brother.

"And we want to hear you sing it by yourself," Peter added.

"Valid," Skye said with a nod. She looked at her wife with a smile and said, "I'll grab my guitar," before Louis was asking her about it.

"Is that the one you played with John Legend?" the vet asked.

"I did, almost played it again on The Voice," Skye said with a smile. "But I decided on something different in the end."

"I can't believe you went on that," Beckett said.

"You still didn't tell us what that was like," Castle reminded her.

"Does anyone care that I do?" Skye asked the others. When they were shaking their heads, she smiled and then began saying, "I stepped out and they kept me in the dark while I sang, or the audience might have reacted. As soon as I started playing John recognized me and turned around and he told them to pick me."

"So that means you're in the competition too?" Rebecca asked in amusement.

"No, once they saw it was me, they were laughing," Skye said.

"Tell them the rest grá," Mary said.

"I sang one of No Doubt's songs, Sunday Morning," Skye said.

"She sang with you? Gwen Stefani I mean?" Eve asked in a rush.

"I sang with her I should say, I was following," Skye answered.

"When is that airing?" Castle asked.

"A month, and you lot will need to keep that a secret," Skye told them. She and her wife started to laugh at them all saying they would except for the youngest. "Thank you. And with that I'll begin," she said before she started playing and singing.

During that song, Castle reached for his wife and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her as close as he could until the investigator played out the music. He applauded again with the others and said, "I think it's time to clean up," not surprised when Clive and Peter were the first to jump up in response.

"It's cute," Eve said to her boyfriend. She smiled when he looked at her in surprise and said, "That you want to know so badly."

"Did… you?" Peter asked though he hesitated as he recalled she was a year older than her brother. "Sophie, right?"

"No, Mom and Dad already knew when they told us," Eve said, pressed against him in the elevator with their friends. She smiled and said, "But in that short time we really wanted to know, so I kind of understand." She looked at Julia and Mari and nodded to them saying, "Ask them," before the former was speaking first.

"It's not weird or anything," Julia said.

"It makes sense," Mari said with a nod. She then smiled and said, "But our parents never did the surprise thing."

"And we get dessert," Jacob commented before he laughed as the three girls were rolling their eyes.

"Hey," Peter said, hurrying to his partner.

"What?" Julia asked in surprise while they were grabbing their plates from the dumbwaiter.

"Can your grandmother tell what Mom's having?" Peter asked.

"I think so," Julia said. "She might be far enough, why?"

"You're gonna ask her?" Clive asked.

"No," Peter said rapidly, shaking his head. He then smiled and said, "I will after if she could."

"You could ask her now," Mari said, turning to him as they'd put their plates at the kitchen sink. "Just if she can tell."

"And I can," a voice said from the behind the kids, making them jump. Martha smiled while the six turned to her rapidly and said, "I came to check on you, everyone is coming down in stages."

"So… you know what she's having?" Clive asked a little shyly.

"I'm guessing to be honest," Martha said. "I can't always be correct, but I seem to have a little bit of a knack for it." She finished the last of her wine and said, "And I can assume you boys will wait for the cake to see."

"Will you tell us if you were right?" Julia asked.

"Don't I usually say?" Martha asked her. She smiled while her second oldest granddaughter laughed and nodded and said, "Then I will. But it is nice to see you boys are so eager."

"We'd like a baby to be around," Peter said, looking over to the pool room. He wasn't going to continue, but his girlfriend touching his arm made him turn to her before she spoke.

"You can say it," Eve said gently.

Startled at his girlfriend's words, Peter said, "Well… yeah, we want Mom and Dad to have a baby; make them closer."

"A lot closer," Clive added.

"I don't think you need to worry about that," Martha assured them. "Your parents seem much happier with this marriage."

"Really?" Clive asked.

"Really," Martha echoed with a smile. She looked with them as the others were walking inside and they were talking together as everything they'd used for the dinner was being cleaned.

"Okay," Castle said, going to the box with the cake his wife had taken out of the fridge before they'd started cleaning. "I'm taking this out-"

"We'll go into the room," Isaac said quickly.

"We'll bring it out to the table," Beckett said with a smile at the man's tone of voice. She watched everyone leave her and her husband in surprise before she said, "I wasn't expecting that."

"Neither was I," Castle said in amusement. He then opened the box at its front and pulled it out saying, "Nice," since there were pieces of blue and pink fondant in a mosaic pattern across it.

"The baker knew Isaac would try to peek," Beckett commented teasingly.

"Most likely," Castle said. "I'm ready," he then told her, watching her picking up the tray she'd set what they needed on before she was speaking quickly.

"So am I, we better go," Beckett told him as they could both hear the kids were playing in the pool room. She followed her husband out, hearing the kids exclaiming about the cake as they followed him to the table the adults were sitting at.
