Hermione Granger sat on the sidewalk, balling her eyes out. 'They kicked me out' was the only thing she could think, and the thought repeated itself, over and over again. She wouldn't dare go to Ginny's because her cheating ex Ronald lived there. She couldn't go to Lavender's, because that was whom Ron had cheated on her with. She was hopeless. Hermione's parents had kicked her out because she had gotten a B- on her muggle summer school progress report. Why do you think she studied so hard? Mione's parents wouldn't accept her if she wasn't the best. She never cared about reading, she wanted to be pretty and popular, but her parents wanted a weird braniac freak. Sure, she liked getting good grades, but it really wasn't the only thing she wanted. Now, because her parents didn't consider her smart, Hermione didn't have a home. It was just then, after being thrown out of her house, rained on and crying for about an hour, she realized something. If she went to Pavarti's house, she could get Pavarti to hate Lavender and like her. Thus, since Pavarti was the most popular girl in school, Hermione would become the second most popular girl at Hogwarts. Hermione was kind of rough around the edges but Pavarti could fix that. When it got dark Hermione saw the Night bus coming into view. Stan grabbed her bags and asked her wear she was headed. "Patil mansion" was Hermione's response, before she fell back, surprised at the speed of the Wizard/Witch transportation device.
Hermione fell asleep after about hour later, realizing it was going to be a long ride. Waking up to the shouting voice of Stan. "Wake up miss, it's your stop, wake up!" he shouted as the Bus came to an abrupt halt. Stepping of the bus yawning, with bags in hand, she gasped in awe at the beautiful and large mansion. Looking around she could see the colorful flowers gardens with stone paths going through. Fairies were all over the place, and the gardens also had magnificent fountains. The gates opened when Hermione stated her name. Walking towards the door, she was hoping this would be the place she would live. Knocking on the door, she sighed when Pavarti and Padma came to the door. "I got kicked out" was all she needed to say before they started with 'Oh my' 's and 'oh dears'. "You must stay here, are parents will probably adopt you" the Patil girls said at the exact same time. "Just imagine having three Patil girls going to Hogwarts together" Pavarti said, to which all three girls looked mystified. Hurrying down a hall through the Grand Entrance, and opening a door on the right, there were to adults standing. "Mom, dad, Hermione needs a family" Pavarti said, making the scene so much more dramatic than that which was needed. Both adults looked at Hermione and smiled warmly, they had always wanted a third daughter.
