Note: I read someone's comments that they wonder why Kaiba was older than them. Well I made him older because I just felt like making my story a little different. I mean this is fan-fiction so it's not going to be exactly how it is in the show. So I hope this helps some. Also he just always act older and he was so tall which made him look older.
That's all for now until further notice now let's hop into the story
Yugi woke up the next morning with his grandfather shaking him awake" Yugi you need to wake up so we can eat breakfast. Then we can go meet what we have been talking about yesterday." the elderly man said softly.
Yugi got dressed and headed down stairs, he was surprised that Hiro was not at the kitchen table. He looked around to see if she was anywhere else around the house, but not a fly in sight. The small teen breathed a sigh of relief. His insides were doing a happy dance. He went to the kitchen and sat at the table as a bowl full of butter grits was placed in front of him.
After they were done eating breakfast they cleaned up and left the shop. Yugi sat in the passenger seat of the old red car that now looks kind of pink. The young teen fidget with his fingers, a sign of nervousness. He still wasn't comfortable about this whole psychiatrist, but he promised his grandfather and he nevers broke a promise. Yugi grasped his puzzle for comfort trying to stop all the bad thoughts that plagued him.
It took a twenty minute drive, but to Yugi it felt like minutes and his nervousness skyrocketed. Solomon placed his hands on top of his grandson" It's going to be ok Yugi." he said softly. Yugi nodded slowly trying to take his grandfather's words in. He repeated his grandfather's words over and over in his head like a motone. That got out of the vehicle and headed into the building and if Yugi was feeling terrible before he was feeling a whole lot worse now.
If you've been to a Black Friday's well that's what it felt like to Yugi when he walked through the door. Tons of people sat in the waiting room of different ages and sizes sitting in chairs and he unconsciously clutched Solomon's clothes. His grandfather sat him in a chair in a corner while he talked to the man at the desk. Yugi crossed his legs and put his hands together tightly so that they were turning bright red.
Yugi jumped out of his skin when there was a light type on his shoulders. He looked over at the person to see a boy who was a little older than he was sitting next to them." Here to see a physiatrist too?" the lad asked. Yugi mutely nodded his head as he turned his head away to sidetrack himself. " What are you here for? Anger issues, OCD, or PTSD." the older lad. Yugi took a breath before answering" I think it's depression."
The boy nodded his head enthusiastically" Ah! It could've been worse. I mean I have bipolar disorder so I come here three days a week just talking to a stranger that I don't even know about all my problems and how I'm feeling." the stated. Yugi could only nod, as he tried to ignore the lad. Thankfully, Solomon returned to him and sat in the other chair beside him and patted his leg in comfort.
It felt like ages until Yugi's name was called and his stomach dropped when they said that his grandfather wasn't allowed back. Stupid rules if you ask Yugi because what if the kid or person wanted someone there to comfort them while their talking to a stranger. You know this is screwed the wrong way anyway you see it, but rules are rules and you have to follow them no matter what.
Yugi nervously followed the lady with long black hair. She seems to have a nice calming aura surrounding her. They soon stop by a door and the lady opens it and what you see inside was totally something that Yugi didn't expect at all. The room was quite comforting really with potted Stiff Blue-Eyed Grass(1) in one corner near a wall that showed a painting of a setting sun with the ocean and some birds going toward the sun. There was also Saucer magnolia(2) on a table stand near the window. In the middle of the room sat a nice wooden desk with a medium size guy with teal blue eyes. He sat there with the most relaxed poster and expression on his face and the air smell of lavender swift through the air making all Yugi's anxiety and fear simply fade away.
" Ah you must be Yugi Muto, I'm Dr. Kalico, but you can call me Kal for short if you want. Here, have a seat in front of my desk." the man suggested in his calm French accent. Yugi slowly walked to the chair and sat down as he looked around the room with wonder in his eyes. The man let out a kind chuckle catching Yugi's attention to see the man smiling" I see you the room the scenery is supposed to relax the mind and also the scents of smile in the room supposed to do that to don't you agree ami(3)?" the man asked, to which the boy nodded his head.
The room was silent and Yugi started fidgeting with his fingers as his nervousness resurfaced once more." Does the silence make you uncomfortable?" the man asked, causing the boy to fletch at the sudden question. Yugi hesintally nodded his head. Usually he's ok with silence if he was alone, but when he is alone with another person he wants there to be noise so it sidetracks his negative thoughts of what ifs.
" Would some music help?" The man asked, making the lad wonder why this man was asking so many questions." Um s-sure?" he said questionably. The man simply nodded as he pulled out a tiny Compact Cassette(4) and opened up to place a tiny tape recorder inside that had the name 'Sleepwalker' (5)on it. He shut the lid and pushed down on a play button. It took the tiny little thing a good hot second before the music started playing.
The music wasn't that bad. Yugi could say the music was very calming and relaxing as if you were going on a midnight stroll on the beach with the moon shining down on the ocean water as the calming of the waves crashed onto the sand. Without Yugi realizing he closed his eyes the calming music played and images played through his head.
" So Yugi what are you picturing inside your head?" the man asked. Yugi was quiet for a few seconds before answering" Me playing games with Jii-chan and hanging out with my friends on the beach even though only one of them has been there." he stated. Man hummed in knowledgement" Good memories are the most wonderful thing, like a flower blooming in a garden." the man stated. Yugi nodded his head in agreement, but then slowly opened his eyes and arched his eyebrow" Wait are we not supposed to talk about um well you know my problem?" he asked curiously.
The man rubbed his chin" well that depends, are you ready to talk about your problem to me?" he asked." Are you supposed to be the one to help me figure out what my problem is?" the tri-color hair boy asked, as he started getting a little frustrated. The man raised his hand in surrender" Now don't get upset please, Yugi back in France we relax the mind to take things slow I think the word is leisure take things slow try not to go too fast." he explained.
Yugi pondered on what the physiatrist said, suddenly an alarm went off startling the lad" Well, looks like our time is up, Yugi i'm going to give you a piece of paper and I want you to follow them until we meet again." He said as he handed the boy the slip piece of paper. Yugi looked down at the paper in puzzlement ' What is this?' he thought as the paper showed a chart on top it read" How are you feeling" on it. On the side left top below the title showed a smiley face and below it showed a sad face and below that one showed a mad face. Besides these emoji were three check mark boxes.
Dr. Kalico saw the confusion and couldn't help but suppress a laugh" The next three days I want you to check mark on how you're feeling for each day. Then we will see the results when we meet again in our next session." he explained as he opened the door for the small teen. Yugi walked out and when the door closed behind him he looked back" Well that's not how I expect things to turn out." he stated quietly. With that Yugi and his grandfather went home that day and spent some time together with one another.
Meanwhile:
"JOUNOUCHI WHERE ARE YOU? YOU LITTLE PIECE OF GARBAGE!"
Once more a certain blonde was hiding from his drunken rage father except this time he didn't have enough time to hide, dang it and he had a good day at school today. A loud crash and glass shattering near where he was hiding in the cabinet singnalfied that his father was now in the kitchen. Oh why oh why did the universe hate him so much what did he do in his past life to deserve this.
He broke out of his thoughts when the door to the cabinet was yanked open slinging off its hinges. He let out a yelp when rough hands grabbed him by the arm and yanked him out, almost pulling his shoulders out of socket.
" THERE YOU ARE! NOW WHERE ARE MY BOTTLE OF BEER AND WHISKEY THAT WAS IN THE PANTRY THIS MORNING BECAUSE I KNOW FOR A FACT I DIDN'T DRINK THEM!" his father yelled in his face, shaking him like he was some baby's rattler. " I DON'T KNOW!?" he lied. He was just tired of his dad being this way. He just wants his old life back and what better way to do it is to get rid of the first thing that started all this mess. Pain shot into his stomach, as his father punched him in the gut.
" DON'T YOU DARE LIED TO YOUR FATHER YOU UNGRATEFUL BRATE!" the man spatted. The blonde didn't know what came over him boiling anger raised up into his chest as he screamed back at his so called father" OH REALLY SINCE WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU EVER WAS A REAL FATHER TO ME. EVER SINCE THAT DAY YOU DID NOTHING, BUT ABUSED ME AND NEGLECTED ME! THE ONLY TIME YOU WANTED SOMETHING FROM ME WAS WHEN YOU WANTED TO HURT OR USE ME AS YOUR DELIVERY BOY." he screamed, his face was red like a ripe tomato.
A wash of relief released from his shoulders as all the pressure left his system. It was all short livid though when his father smashed his head against the counter top and started dragging him to the basement. He tried struggling, but he was too dazed to have any strength to fight his father off. His father opened the basement door and tossed his son in like a sack of potatoes and slammed the door shut behind him. The basement was pitch black and Jounouchi used all of his wits not to scream and cry in fear. If there was anything that he was afraid of is being in the dark alone.
He also had trouble sleeping in the dark, especially when he's alone. He can handle if he's outside in the dark because there are places to run to and escape. He was just afraid of being in a room where no one else to go in the dark alone. He felt trapped and vulnerable and he hates feeling weak. He soon just curled up on the cold floor trying to stay warm as possible eventually he fell into an unrestful sleep.
A young boy about ten years old was running down the streets trying to get away from his pursuer. He ran into an alleyway only to find out it was a dead end and turned around to find his assailant. " S-s-stay a-away from me! I want m-my mom!" the boy stuttered in fear. The person walked closer to the scared boy while holding a shiny object on his left hand." But your eyes are so beautiful they will be perfect for my collection." the person said. Before the boy knew it he was struck in the chest with the object.
Twenty minutes later the assailant started carving the boy's milky blue eyes with care and professionalism. As soon as the person claimed their prize holding the bloody eyeball in their hand admiring it. The figure pocketed the eyeballs in their pocket and then grabbed the lifeless ten year old body and tossed it into one of the dumpsters. The figure soon disappeared into the cold moonless night.
Red crimson eyes shot open in the darkness of his soul room hearing the shadows hiss of distress." What's wrong?" he asked. The shadows didn't answer him as they just continued to hiss in displeasure. He walked out of his soul room into the hallway that separates him and his host soul room. Sensing nothing wrong coming from his host soul room he phased out of the puzzle to see that his host was doing his homework is what he thinks it's called.
He decided to look around outside of the room and phased through the door. He looked around his surroundings and wondered why he had not explored like this before. He got to the steps when an invisible force knocked him back from going any further. He huffed an annoyance as he was about to return to his hakari bedroom, when he heard the down stairs shop door open. Being the curious spirit he is, he quickly returned to his host bedroom and took over his hakari body.
Once he took over he walked back to the steps he felt the shadows swirling around him hissing in warning. Whatever was going on down there the shadows were restless and didn't like presence. He carefully walked down the stairs without making any noise as he got to the last step and poked his head out. At first he didn't see anything until he saw something on the floor near the door. Being as quietly as possible he walked toward the stuff near the door and stooped down to get a closer look. He scrunched up his nose at the foul stench as he slowly touched it and realized that whatever it was was still wet and fresh. He brought it up to his nose and flinched at the copper smell ' Blood' is what registered in his mind.
A chill crawled up his spine as all the warning senses went off. He felt someone coming so he quickly and quietly hid into the spandrel. He left the door that was chipped off and cracked open. He never saw anyone come in here and the cobwebs proved that no one has been in here for a good while. What was strange wouldn't there be cobwebs clinging to the door as well?
The spirit snapped his head up when the sound of footsteps approached the Spandrel. He quickly looked around and hid in an old wooden cabinet that collected dust and webs. It was small but with his host body it wasn't a problem. The door opened with a creak opened as the person walked in. A feeling of distrust and anger expanded in his chest he could hear the shadows hiss in anger as they wanted to attack the person and tear them into pieces.
A clack of glass hitting wood sounded through the room. It was quiet for a moment before a familiar voice has spoken" Don't fret little eye you'll soon won't be alone for long." With that being said the figure left the room. The spirit didn't leave until he felt the presence descended before crawling out of hiding. Looking around the room making sure the coast was clear he jumped in surprise to see a young boy sitting on the floor with his/her head buried in the knee. The strange thing is he could see the boy as bright as day, but he just sat there not moving and it set him on edge and that's saying something.
He walked toward the young man wondering how in the world did a stranger get in the house." Hello?" he asked cautiously. He saw the figure flinch and slowly looked up at him with milky blue eyes" You c-can see me?" the lad asked. The spirit arched his left eyebrow in confusion. Why wouldn't he be able to see him?" Yes?" he said with confusion in his voice." Can you help me! No one seemed to be able to see me when I tried to get their attention." the boy said desperately. The spirit of the puzzle was confused and concerned how come no one could see him but he could? What concerned him more was the bloody wound on the boy's chest. How was he not in pain?" Um you do know you're injured right?" he stated.
That seemed to be the wrong thing to say as the boy looked down at his chest and started freaking out." Oh no! No no no no nononono how? When? What? I don't know what is happening." the lad cried in despair. As the mystery boy continues to panic his appearance begins to seems to spread across his clothes and torn up and when the boy removes his hands from his eyes. That's when the spirit froze in place he couldn't move and he felt like throwing up because nothing he saw right now could prepare him for this. The boy's eyes were gone and the eye socket and blood was the only thing left behind.
The spirit couldn't help himself; he rushed out the room as the shadows helped him leave the room without a sound. For some reason the spirit was shaking, out of fear? Maybe or it could be that what the boy said no one could see him, but him just like how no one could see him but his host could. So does that mean he is whatever the boy is? Could it be possible that he died but was alive at one point in time. He shook his head trying to clear his head no he was not going to dwell on this matter right now. He climbed into his host bed and pulled the cover over him, before retreating back into the comfort of the puzzle in his soul room. He didn't know why this was bugging so badly he causes people to go crazy, so what's the difference? He soon fell asleep but he wished that it was restful, but you don't always get what you want or need the most.
3,000 Years Ago in Ancient Egypt:
" ATEM! Where are you?" a tall man shouted as he looked into empty water pots. He's son always seems to vanish in thin air and reappear like he teleported. Just as he thought of those thoughts his son leaped right on his back." I got you!" the lad exclaimed. The man laughed, " I suppose so, but you have to know your enemy's strength before attacking them." and just like that the man grabbed his son by the collar of his tunic and started tickling him. The boy started squealing with laughter" Okay I give I surrender father." the boy said, as his father stopped tickling him.
" No fair you're taller and stronger than me, not to mention older." the child stated." Oh so I'm old now am I?" the man teases. The child rolled his eyes" Duh! You're more than all of my fingers and toes." the child explained. The man laughed at his son's statement so he decided now was probably a good time to say this" So Atem would you like to have a little sibling to play with?" he said. He could've sworn that his son fell anime style, before standing up and looking up at home with sparkles in his eyes. " Do you mean it father!" he said excitedly.
The man nodded his head and the boy jumped around with joy as he flipped and cartwheels. He then rushed back to his father and jumped into the man's lap" When will he/she come father I can't wait to be an older brother. I'll teach him/her everything I know including my hiding places." the boy went on in his little rant that he didn't notice the man laughing." Wow calm down there squirt the baby won't come for about another six month or so." the man explained to his overjoyed son.
The boy started to whine" Aaah! But that'll take too long, so why can't he come today?" the lad asked. The man picked up his son and carried him toward the Palace and explained to him why it takes forever to have a sibling. Little did they know a figure was watching them in the shadows out of sight out of mind.
Back to the presence:
Hiro Hayashi was a woman who went by many names. When she was a little girl her dad called her princess, darling, and angel. When she was in middle and highschool she was known as Queen, Snow White, Wild Child, and . When she went to college to learn and become an Archaeologist she was known as Ms. Brains, old schooler, and Eagle eye. What people didn't know was that this woman has a very strange and sadistic hobby. She always loves people's unique eye color that they possess. It wouldn't have been a bad thing if she didn't want to collect them and keep them for herself, and for her to be able to do that is to kill them.
Her first kill was when she was fifteen years old as she was out on a date with a boy who had such nice ocean blue eyes. It wasn't too hard for her as they went to the movie and went somewhere no one could find them and make out. That was when she striked as she stabbed him in the heart and carved out his eyes. When police kept finding dead bodies with missing eyes they ended up calling the unknown killer Eye Bandit. Soon the case was handed over to the FBI and even they couldn't seem to catch the killer, because they couldn't find a pattern of who could possibly be the next victim.
Over the years she has collected over eighty-five pairs of rare eyes. Now she has eighty-six and eighty-seven is just right on the platter but just hasn't been touched yet. Soon she will be planning on getting those young teen eyes they are just too rare for her not to have. One way to get what she wants she needs to get the grandfather wrapped around her finger and she can get her prize and disappear before the old man blink.
But she just needs to wait a little longer and then she can get her precious eyes.
