A/N: "Kept you waiting huh," Bad line I know but fitting all things considered, but I am still alive and kicking. Over a year in the making, I am so sorry for that, life really spiraled out of hand for me, ending A/N for details as always.
(4/22/22 note) This is not a new chapter of the story, that is Chapter 56. I added 5 chapters to the start of the story and that caused an offset.
Chapter 54: The Nar Shaddaa Run
Just after the crash, on the outside of the ship the team of three dark and one light who dove out of the way of the crashing thunderclap. After taking cover from the debris and other potential hazards a crashing ship can offer, like explosions. There was no spectacular explosion but the noise of the metallic scraping and grinding filled the air with an ear rupturing screech. Though the noise was not all that filled the air, the particles of rust, dust, and ash filled it as well creating a localized cloud of obscured visibility and lung irritants. These kinds of hazards where the kind that made the four's ears ring, and them to begin coughing.
As the rattle of the small loose debris settled and the clouds of dust settled, the four rolled over to a marvelous sight, the thunderclap spanned the two buildings. Looking at the wreck, the four rolled over and stood up. The nulls seemed to have left the ship alone after it plowed into the buildings. Seeing the new bridge formed from the dead ship, Sitar felt the life in the ship, he could feel the darkness in some of their hearts but in dire circumstances, they could try and help the survivors. The three Sith could feel it as well. Looking at the wreck they knew they were still alive, and that the crash seemed to make the nulls relent their attack for the moment. The Trio of Sith and the singular Jedi got to their feet and looked at the damage the ship had sustained. The two short foil wings were wedged in the building above them while the other wing was lodged into the far building. The buildings and the ship looked stable after the impact, though the duracrete structure they were standing on did have a long scar like crack forming from the impact.
They then looked at the ship itself, it was buried in the structures. Despite its unmoving nature, some loose stones fell to the platform with a clattering noise, almost like the stones falling from a recent bomb going off. The Nulls had relented on the position, but they knew such safety would not last and they needed some help, and the four of them could not simply abandon the survivor, especially due to the Jedi they had teamed up with.
In orbit around the planet, Winter was starting to get concerned after the feeling of dread washed off her. It was familiar and yet. she had realized that she had not heard from the two Sith in quite some time and sitting up and alone in the red-lit cockpit made her stop fiddling with her scroll and looked at the call button on her modified scroll and brought up the more reliable number for Pyrrha and tapped the green button. It rang, and rang all the way, figuring it to be still responsive, she brought up the locator on the cockpit screen of the Whispering Specter. What she saw was concerning as the duo were nowhere near the area of operation.
"What the hell?" she said quite shocked by the location where they were. Then she did a scan as she pitched the ship down, what she saw disturbed her even more, the white-haired woman was shocked as she saw the city was on fire. Not just localized, like Nora or Pyrrha, got out of hand, it was fully ablaze with flames that could be seen from orbit as if a great calamity befell the planet as Pyrrha and Nora were a part of it. With that Winter kicked the engines of her modified ship into gear and got flying toward the fireball of a planet.
Inside the ship, as the dust was settling outside, only one person at the moment was moving at the time directly after impact. Penny wasn't knocked unconscious for long like the organic members of the crew. Inside the now dark she managed to crawl to her feet. She could feel her that she was not unharmed by the crash though, looking down at her arms she could see the metal that resided under her skin was exposed. Her sensors also revealed that her face was also compromised, and the metal endoskeleton was showing in the darkness. Looking around she could see that her allies were still alive minor cuts and scrapes, nothing their auras could not fix. The next thing that she did was head down the stairs from the cockpit. She needed to see if Emerald had not been slung around by the crash.
She was still secured on the bench, thankfully as this synthetic girl saw death today, she did not want to see any more today. With a groan from the ship's structure, she deemed it would probably be good to carry her again. Picking her up she got moving back to the cockpit where a man with broken sunglasses looked at her with brown eyes.
In the darkness, Ozpin opened his eyes. He felt his aura sparking as he opened his eyes. His vision was shaky, his ears were ringing, the constant droning of tinnitus from the impact was stirring in his ears. As the droning in his ear subsided, and he regained his bearings he could see the environment of the ship. All of the lights in the ship were dead, the command console was lifeless, the ship was hemorrhaging sparks that poured from various wounds in the hull. He could hear the groaning as the frame of the ship was under great strain under its own weight as it spanned the two buildings.
He could see all of the others of his group unconscious. He felt scrambled as he stood up sloshing a bit as he did. Though the look on his face was one of concern as he saw his former students slammed to the ground with force.
He could see a figure standing in the stairwell, carrying one over their should he couldn't make out whom in the blood like a torrent of sparks disgorging themselves from the frayed power cable. As they walked forward he could see it was Penny holding the wounded Emerald. Though alas after seeing her the instructor knew wasn't allowed to rest and he worked on trying to raise those still unconscious though unknown to him one had already stood, her sandy hair obscuring her face as blood trickled down her face in a ruby stream. She announced her presence with a quick mechanical clunk as her saber deployed into its pike configuration and used it to help her stand and regain her balance. Though she was quickly followed with a groan of,
"What happened?" From a stunned and disorientated Taiyang, though his eyes opening told him all he needed to know and he started to curse out the fact they had gone down. Though as he regained further consciousness he felt a deep throbbing pain in his left arm. As he looked at it was bent unnaturally too the side, obviously broken. He then felt the pulsing pain in the shattered arm as he stood, took his arm in hand twist it back into place to set it with a crack and groan.
The next to stand was Raven, who seemed uninjured from the impact as she just stood up getting to her feet, her robes were slightly torn up and her aura pulsed to life. "Well this is bad," She said with a frown as she drew her lightsaber from her belt, then Pyrrha stood up with a groan as a long cut ran down her arm but with the pulse of burning orange her aura was restored and she got up to her feet.
As the group got to their feet in the darkness of their dead ship they could see that their ship was still suspended in the air though not moving. They could hear the pained groans of the ship trying to support its weight on its wings. It was at this point they could tell what happened as they noted the twin buildings on either side of the ship. It was at this point they knew they had to get out. Unannounced to them, back outside the ship the situation was evolving.
Outside the ship, the Jedi of the four leaped up onto the ship and ignited his saber. He was doing his duty checking for survivors. Sitar plunged his blade down into the metal of the ship, as the hole ignited with an orange-white heat he began to cut a circle. Though the cut was not a simple one as his blade hit a few still powered conduits and pipes carrying hot steam. Though the Jedi cared not for those material trivialities.
This Sith could feel the force around the thunderclap, it was one of darkness, and with that, the trio knew that it was now indeed filled with their allies. Lyeroka was the first to move and help Sitar by jumping up to the wing and igniting her blood-red blade. plunging the blade down into the hull, she helped cut the hole though as they pushed through the layers of metal, a force pushed the slug of metal, propelling the slug through straight-up almost into the faces of the Jedi and the Sith. Lyeroka and Sitar recoiled back from the slug as Jaesa and Vakor jumped up. Looking down the red-eyed Sith could see a set of people looking up though the two that stood out were looking right into her soul. They stood there for a second before the circular hunk of metal crashed down onto the wings of the thunderclap.
"We are here to help." Sitar said to further shatter the silence as the sandy blonde-haired woman jumped up and deployed her lightsaber, lightning sparking off her body as anger and wild madness shone in her face. Vakor and Lyeroka immediately recognized who she was as Imperious had shown images of the Sith she was training. These looked like the two that stood beside Malserik's and her apprentice.
Back inside the ship, the remnants heard the hissing of melting metal. Above their heads, they saw the cut being made in the cockpit's roof. They all backed away as a shower of sparks and steam fell. They could barely make out the color of the blade during the cut. It was Nora that caught a glimpse of the green poking through as a red blade joined the cut in tandem.
Seeing this Nora's eyes sparked lightly as she readied her hand to push the soon to fall metal slug upwards into the faces of those who would intrude. As it got ready to fall no one could stop her, as Ozpin verbally protested this action.
"Nora don't!" He yelled as she force pushed upward losing the slug-like a metal cork. Shocking those who were above. This was then followed by the duo cutting looking down, one locking eyes with Nora, given the slight provocation, she leaped out with a violent jump, though this action was quickly followed by Pyrrha who followed with a sigh. Though this action from Pyrrha was much more elegant with her jump upward. The rest of the team wanted to see what was going to happen.
Up top, Pyrrha saw Nora standing her ground like a ravenous beast. Her teeth bared in a mad grin, one that said she was waiting for slaughter at the slightest flex of a muscle from her enemy. Pyrrha saw the black robes and armor of the three Sith. She was surprised when the one with red eyes gave her a look of pure shock like it was one of recognition, that made her confused. Though when she looked to the other side she the Jedi. His blade humming well to his side ready to defend himself if Sith attacked. Though he said one thing that made Pyrrha not consider that as an option.
"Sith, I am not your foe, in these dire times we must work as light and dark to best this new foe," He said as Nora snarled at him. Pyrrha looked this Jedi over. by all rights, he is outnumbered five to one Pyrrha thought to herself as Ozpin himself jumped up and then gave his two cents
"I agree with that sentiment," Ozpin said as he landed on the top of the wrecked ship. Deploying his cane, he smiled and stood calmly as Pyrrha looked back at Nora gesturing for her to calm down and relax as the Sith looked them over as Raven and Penny jumped up with Taiyang and Emerald in their arms respectively. Emerald was still very much unconscious though Taiyang was very much awake holding his wrist.
"We need to get off the planet," Sitar said speaking up as the Sith looked at each other through Pyrrha did hear a beeping from a pouch on her belt. She pulled out her scroll as Taiyang gave his response as she opened it.
"We were trying to do that but the Grimm sort of stopped that idea!" he said slightly frustrated and in pain, as his voice was more of a growl than a normal tone as he got on his feet.
Back in low orbit around the moon, aboard the Whispering Specter, Winter finally got a hold of Pyrrha, who finally answered her scroll. As she answered Winter was entering a rapid descent toward the surface of the city filled moon.
"What the blazes happened to you two?!" Winter asked severely concerned for their well being as they showed up on the red grid of the local area well out of the mission area. She was thankful she could see this but what Pyrrha said next put a shiver down her spine.
"Sorry, we got caught up, Winter, Objective secured, but we have Grimm down here." That one name stunned Winter. It proper shocked her as she heard that foe had returned. With that in mind, she locked on to their location and said.
"Well, I will be there to extract you as soon as I can! Just hold in there" She said ramming the throttle forward as she saw the ignition of the air on the shield of the ship as she tore into the atmosphere. The orange glow filling the glass of the cockpit as she could feel the dark emptiness filling her body. Her face turned to a scowl as she leered at the city below as the anger welled within her. Moving her hand she powered up the weapons and activated the point defense blasters as she knew the types of Grimm that could manifest. As he palms started to sweat, she sighed and committed to the fight at hand. Though Pyrrha said one last thing to her as she was still on the line, "We are not the only ones that need to be extracted, we have three more Sith, though we also have a few more remnants Ozpin included." With that said Winter's heart sank, Ozpin was not involved in the attack, so she was confused at to how he arrived in this galaxy. This made the white-haired woman confused as she thought about. Making sure as the ship dipped into the atmosphere pulling back on the controls to make sure she could pull up and level off before she plowed the on of a kind ship into the dirt. they need to get to the extraction point. Winter thought as continued her rapid descent as the hull sparked to life with a burning gold color.
"We have a way out, we have an ally in orbit," Pyrrha said to the group who seemed to be regrouping as she checked her belt for the Holocron, sighing with its presence. This took the Jedi, Sith and, Remnants by surprised but to Ozpin this made sense as that ship that dropped them off on to the planet. "She is on her way now, so we must weather till she can extract us," Pyrrha said as the Sith looked at her with an almost grateful look, though it was masked by the leer of Jaesa, who enjoyed the thrill of battle. Hearing another groan from the metal from the structure of the thunderclap, Taiyang spoke.
"Hey hate to interrupt but we should move off this ship, I don't know how long I would trust these wings." hearing this Pyrrha nodded in agreement. Though the Jedi gave a light smile to the group as he knew he could be of assistance.
"All of you take a hold of me." The Jedi said visualizing the world around him in the force. He felt all of the hands, the cold metal of Penny holding Emerald on his right shoulder along with the masked woman, and then Nora, while Ozpin and Pyrrha grabbed his left arm. Taiyang was more holding onto the back of his robe as the three Sith gathered around placing their hands on his right arms and with that, the Jedi focused on the ability that he had just found only a short time ago. He looked out using the force, to see a large city block one that was markedly less damaged than the rest. Seeing this he focused his mind and zeroed in on the location in that block of structures. Seeing the small footpath between buildings, the perfect location, the Jedi felt the rush of his semblance as it translocated the group.
Back aboard the specter, Winter had gotten a firm lock on Pyrrha's Scroll as she leveled the ship off and she threw the ship into the maximum throttle as she darted the still glowing hull over the cityscape. Though she saw something odd occur on her sensors that caused her eyebrow to raise in suspicion. Pyrrha's marker had jumped. She looked again to make sure the adrenaline in her blood had not compromised her vision of the screen that the information of Pyrrha's upon. When she looked back the screen was still displaying the newly updated location, which was physically impossible to Winter as this new location was a few kilometers away. "What the hell?" Winter muttered aloud confused by this, There's no way they could have made that much distance in that short a time, either Raven is with them, or they have discovered a way to teleport. Both of which seemed equally feasible to the Imperial agent.
Back on the surface, The gaggle of Sith and Others had emerged from the Jedi's translocation unphased. Better yet the sector of the all-encompassing cityscape they were in was seemingly less impacted by the Grimm. The street was still a mess as trash was scattered upon the duracrete walk paths but the structures around them were less on fire or destroyed.
"So one of your ship in orbit?" The Raven haired Sith asked of Pyrrha, Her stance not hostile but very inquisitive of what her fellow compatriots said before they left the BT-7 behind.
"It's a fury class interceptor, our pilot has confirmed she is on her way," Pyrrha said walking ahead of the group almost as if she was taking the lead, "so we best find ourselves a landing pad or a suitable clearing for her to land in or at least bring the ship down." The young Sith then took a breath as her mind remember the crash she had just endured and added, "Without it getting shredded."
"Let us advance," the armored Sith warriors spoke, his voice harsh and quick like a strike of a blade upon the air. He walked past Pyrrha, clearly taking point as his two compatriots flanked his left and right side. He paused to stride for but a moment to look back and say to the Remnants and Jedi standing behind him. "Let's move, I don't want a standstill for more than I have to." The man growled not wanting to stand still, especially as a bloodcurdling roar of some infernal beast could be heard over the bustling sounds of failing machinery and crashing speeders. No one in the group protested this thought, instead comply and moved swiftly along. They kept their lightsabers handy, just in case something jumped out from the dark. The five Sith kept walking, Pyrrha calmly watching like the rest of the Sith, but Nora was glaring as she looked around, her glares appearing feral to those that did not know her.
Though to Nora, her eyes were highlighting every imaginable weak point in her vision. Though she was also searching for threats, she wanted to fight more even after the tumble she took in the thunderclap. As they walked the team felt like they were being watched by someone. Eyes in the shadows, the party advanced. Penny was still keeping pace even though she was burdened by Emerald's unconscious body. It was at this point Raven started to swivel her head as she put her hand up. They heard it, the clattering of boots, the rattle of weaponry. They had movement around them, on all sides. With this, all parties drew their lightsabers out. Prepared to fight an unseen enemy, they ignited their blades in a harmonious symphony. As Red, White and Green shined, Taiyang readied his blaster in his off-hand.
"We mean you no harm," Ozpin stated as he tried to find the ones surrounding them. He tried to reach out with the force to no avail, but a voice did respond in basic. "You just appeared from nowhere! Why should we trust you?!" The voice asked bluntly not sure if any answer could sate his rationals.
"The Grimm are your enemy, not us!" Taiyang interjected not wanting this situation to devolve yet further. He lowered his blaster, with that done most of the lightsaber wielders did the same, as Pyrrha leaned on the scepter she carried. She was relaxing, as today had gone from exciting to downright exhausting, though the rest of the Sith. Nora included readied their weapons for a fight. That is when they heard the distinct noise of blaster fire fill the air but not at them, at an incoming Griffon. Their weapons actually scathed the beast as it descended upon the group. Nora was the first to react as she supercharged her legs with electricity and leaped up into the sky. The pink energy of her lightsaber roaring as she hit the beast's exposed wing.
Lyeroka, Joining in on the attack, threw her red bladed lightsaber at the griffon's body, slicing open its torso, allowing the inky blackness that resided within such a creature to flow forth. Between Lyeroka and Nora, this beast was brought down. Though where there was one, there were many as some beowolves emerged from below the streets, clawing and scraping their way up the metal that lined Nar Shaddaa's walkways and streets. The noise made with disgusting shriek .lmost equivalent to nails on a chalkboard, as they slinked that way up the walls. This act by the beowolves was met with intense blaster fire, as the citizens of Nar Shaddaa were not going to let them have an inch. The concealed fighters, already having lost so much poured blaster fire upon the Grimm.
Though few escape these efforts, the few that did quickly engaged the sith before them. Vakor growled at the beast as he charged. He charged his newfound ability, letting it flow down the blade of his lightsaber. As the strike connected with the Beowolf's torso that exploded into the dark shadowy fragments as his semblance unleashed its effect. Jaesa, on the other hand, faced off with another though she, like Lyeroka, threw her lightsaber, though this time the attack was aimed for the beast's neck, lopping off its head.
Ozpin, while this occurred began to push his semblance, feeding it power slowing time enough for him to gain the upper hand on the Grimm before him. The former headmaster targeted all the weak points on these beasts and pierced them with the blade of his lightsaber before they could even react.
Penny felt quite helpless of the moment with Emerald on her back, but she watched Ozpin move at unrealistic speeds, though she saw the blaster wielding civilians in the building, they were getting engaged by a much larger threat inside. After Ozpin had cleared the streets, Penny yelled out, "we should help them, they're in trouble in their!" the sympathetic person said, a tone of concern and urgency in her voice as they could hear the battle inside the building next to him picking up pace, the roar of Grimm, the song of blaster fire, and the screams of people under attack by a threat they do not understand, filled the air.
The Sith all looked back at Penny, scowls upon their faces. Most especially on Pyrrha's who was sheathing the blade of the Sith sword back into the scepter as Penny spoke.
"We have no time for this, our ship is on its way, and with what happened to our last ship I'm not taking any chances," Pyrrha explained, her voice ragged and filled with anger at that statement, as much as the Sith in her blood wanted her to fight, this was not her fight.
"Yeah kiddo, I got a broken arm here I really can't help it would be best for us to get off the planet and seek help," Taiyang added to the conversation. His arm hurt, he would be shooting offhand, as much as he wanted to he knew he couldn't help. " The nine of us, not factoring in your friend there, can't help the entire planet," Taiyang explained.
"As much as I like to help, we are outgunned and outnumbered and vastly under-equipped to face this amount of Grimm, evacuation is our best option, I'm sorry Penny," Ozpin stated coldly, he knew the options, he knew the choices he had to make, they had to get off-planet.
Hearing all this, Penny still wanted to help, though she remembered her weapon systems were disabled, she could not fight this alone. At this point, even the Jedi concurred with the decision of the Sith. Sitar looked at Penny with his masked eyes and said.
"We can do much more for them off-world than staying and fighting a losing war here," The Jedi said not wanting to upset the girl but let her know that going further could end poorly. It was at this moment yet one more voice spoke the weaker and more subdued than the rest.
"Please Penny," An awakening emerald rasped out. Her voice was soft and weak as it emerged from her lips. This immediately reminded Penny of her main goal, to get Emerald help. With that reinforced in her head, Vakor reminded everyone to get moving. Especially now that Nora was leading the way, as she had seen a very suitable plaza only a few blocks ahead as she chopped the Griffon's wing off.
Back aboard the whispering specter, Winter was pushing the ship's atmospheric capabilities to its maximum. Seeing the flock of Grimm, Nevermores, in particular, emerging in front of the nose, she cycled the shields to low-velocity impact deflection. A setting met for deflecting low-speed low mass objects like meteorites or space debris. This tactic was in the hope to deflect their attack, As flying this low she saw many wrecked ships. Though she then turned on another system of the ship, the point defense turrets, which she hoped that the tactic of deflection did not work, that point defense would.
With that she barreled into the flock, the shields bouncing them off like stray rocks, as it should. Though the point defense also deterred them from returning as she could hear the faint sound of the blasters rapidly firing. She did not want to have to risk the ship, but with how close she was, She had to push it, Pyrrha and Nora were counting on her. She couldn't give up now, nor was she interested in such a notion. She could see all the destruction in the skyline as she entered a layer of thick black smoke. It was an inky swirling mass as the heat of the air sent it up in billowing pillars. The cityscape was a mess down below and the pilot of the specter could only hope they could hold on a bit longer.
"Pyrrha, Nora, please hold on," She said as another set of Grimm entered point defense range. She sighed as speed was to be her advantage over the hordes of Grimm and she was going to take advantage of it. Tapping a button on the console she dialed Pyrrha back. After a few rings she picked up and the first thing she asked was.
"What is the situation down there?" Winter asked as Pyrrha sighed giving her response.
"Calm, though that could change in a moment's notice if we are not careful." She said, her voice was rushed and quiet like she was just trying to keep her end quiet.
"I am within a kilometer, please tell me you have located a landing location for me or at least a touch off point?" Winter asked as she was drawing near so getting a hold of a point to bring the ship down into was getting increasingly more critical.
"Yes, we have a landing zone, there is s plaza that isn't buried between the buildings." Pyrrha replied, her voice sounding weary of the surroundings she was in, "just be quick. I have a bad feeling about this." She said as she looked around on the ground. Winter saw the clearing that she was hopefully talking about. It was about a few hundred meters from her current position.
Back down on the ground, Pyrrha looked into the sky for their ship. That is when she could hear the roar of its engines in the distance as it drew near. Then they could see it, they could all see the gleaming obsidian like the hull of the slimmed-down Fury class as it fired its retro thrusters and began to hover on its repulsors as it began to descend into the plaza. The size and nature of the ship surprised all of the sith and the Jedi, though Ozpin and his party distinctly remembered the silhouette of the ship descending before them. The ramp was lowering as they could feel the ebbing currents of air as it hovered down to them. The landing gear descended and hissed a little as the ship lowered down to be within their range, but did not strain them as it hovered a foot off the ground.
The ramp was facing them so boarding was no difficulty, though as they moved aboard at a rushed but not hectic speed. Though they could hear over the roar of the engines the howls of beowolves, and that sound got the party to pick up the pace as Vakor stood at the foot of the ramp. His red blade blaring as he used the force to steady himself as the rest of the party kept the course and darted in. he was eyeing the approaching grim as held the rear as Nora stayed back with him. Pyrrha and the rest of the gaggle darted in, up the stairs, around the bends, and into the cockpit, almost filling it to the brim with people.
Winter could hear the storming of feet, and looked back she had very little time for formalities as she looked at the screen with the ramps camera she saw the duo standing there on the ramp but she slammed the close ramp button. After she did, she yelled.
"Pyrrha, Get Nora, central turrets I want them manned," she yelled and Pyrrha tore back down the hallway following Winter's harsh orders, that if the Grimm threat were not present she would have no right to use. As she did the customized Fury class elevated its hover and pitched up sharply. She threw the ship into full throttle, the afterburner scorching the plaza of Grimm as the ship rocketed upward.
As the Ship ascended they found the Grimm quickly following, but they couldn't keep pace with the modified ship especially as the turrets atop and below the vessel started to fire back at the flock of flying Grimm that was in pursuit. The reverberations of the heavy turrets could be felt through the ship as the fired back into the Grimm. All those in the cockpit saw the sky of Nar Shaddaa fading as they rocketed upward into the outer atmosphere. With the roar behind them, Winter knew that it wasn't over yet as she had to get the ship out of the world's gravity well before she could jump to hyperspace. Pulling back on the throttle of the ship and leveling off out of the atmosphere she sighed though something made her heart jump. An emergence from hyperspace almost dead in front of the specter. A Valor Class Cruiser flanked by praetorians and hammerheads.
"Blast it!" Winter cursed as the sound of a lightsaber igniting filled the room as did the smell of burning flesh. All who looked back could see Vakor behind Sitar, his red blade impaling the Jedi's chest. He had caught the Jedi unaware and thusly with his aura down. He then pushed the blade in further as he growled out as his irises flushed with a sulfuric yellow glow.
"Jedi scum..." He muttered as he deactivated his lightsaber and let the Miraluka Jedi's body fall lifelessly on to the floor with a muted metal thud as Winter evaded the republic ship outside. Though the sound of the Lightsaber had attracted the attention of all present in and out of the cockpit. This caused a rapid response from Pyrrha and Nora who both darted in with their lightsabers drawn to see the now lifeless Sitar on the floor.
Though Vakor smiled as he looked at the uniform Winter was wearing, he knew what it was and spoke, "So you are from Hiskal?" He asked his voice cold and snide, almost as if he had not killed anyone just a moment ago. "How is Malserik these days?" He asked as all those minus Winter, Lyeroka, and Jaesa were had weapons at the ready. Though he then smiled and said, "Fear not I am a friend, I am Vakor, though more formally Darth Destrus." He smiled as Winter was banking hard to the right to dodge the republic as they now had the corpse of a Jedi on board. Pyrrha, slipped back as she entered into her scroll, 'Destrus, friendly?' to Imperious.
Her response was almost immediate with a 'yes he's an ally.' With that Pyrrha lowered her heated blade and said, "Imperious confirmed, he is good." She said with a sigh of relief in her voice as she moved her pinkish hair back and clicked the hilt of her retrosaber on to her belt. With that Penny still holding Emerald shuffled and asked.
"Do you have a kolto tank aboard." To which Pyrrha gestured to Nora to show her where it was as Winter was well out of the range of the Republic when she activated the hyperdrive and they could put Nar Shaddaa behind them. Though Taiyang, Ozpin, and Raven were now deeply concerned as they were now heading for the heart of the Sith Empire.
A/N: Well that was a doozy of a wait, and I cannot apologize enough for it. Now time for me to explain what happened. Well, life decided to really beat me over the head as I needed to get a job and pay for my college out of pocket, along with help my significant other with a medical condition and recently I have been fighting frequent panic attacks. I tried continuing writing on this at numerous points, but to no avail, I had too much on my plate and forgot about this entirely for a bit and fell off the face of the internet, hopefully, I can keep this train rolling, though I do need to remember or reinvent some ideas I had so long ago so we will see how it goes!
As for this chapter it was written over the course of a year or so dropping in and out of writing. So I apologize for any errors or chop in this chapter I am trying my best to do what I can. So it doubly goes up there any major errors like continuity or plot holes let me know I will do my best to fix them when I can. Basically the whole point of this chapter was to get the story off of Nar Shaddaa and to get the story back to Drommund Kaas. So the remnants aboard the specter can have a pleasant reunion (Hopefully). Don't really have much else to say here, So now I can get to the part I of the long dreadingā¦
The review responses.
Zen-Aku The Spirit Of The Wolf: I thank you for your criticism, the intro to this story is something I have been contemplating working on for a little while to fix the issues you mentioned as you are not the first to do so, And also to have more detail and context of the situation, at least you gave the story a shot that's all I can ask, and thank you for your reviews they always help.
Draemon4144: I'm glad you think so, and I'm glad the story makes sense to you.
Robbie2413: Oh, of course, there is no way that she would not end up fighting the Grimm, this is all but a certainty.
Misaka Phenex (1-4):
1: I apologize for the weird-looking names I am notorious for them amongst friends. Those Star Wars is also known for having its fair share of weird names Obi-Wan Kenobi, as cool as his name is, it is weird to me.
2: I simply refuse to write that material, the M rating on Fan-fic does not include such material, and I also cannot personally write it, not something I am interested in.
3: We Shall See.
4: Yes.
Saelinne: Thank you for the tip, I have learned this correction by now, or least I hope I have, Occasionally use a speech to text device in writing and sometimes it can misconstrue words like that, I will go back and fix that particular error when I have time.
Rairi Valelira: Sorry about that, though silly things like that get me to laugh and lift my spirits.
Catemperor402: Yeah there are a few interesting references as Jedi.
Intameticus: Only practice makes perfect, and/or an editor, I mean I'm trying so many methods to keep my grammar errors down, But I am actively working on it personally to try to keep them down.
General Kenobie: General Kenobiā¦
Firesa: Thank you, sorry it took over a year for the next one.
Hornofdesolation: It was, then life hit, sorry.
The Great Grimm One: (Ditto Hornofdesolation Response)
Well, that was a long of a Review Response section. Though that should be a motivator for me to not go so long without writing the story, as these things pile up hard Also, I am STILL serious about rewriting the intro of the story and doing a few minor retcons but if I do I may end up holding the new content stream, so let me know what you guys think! Well with all of that out of the way, Also like in my last chapter I said I would always come back, and I'm back let's hope this one will not take another year to write. So, with all of that out of the way, Thank you all for reading, if you have any comments, critique, suggestions or corrections, feel free to leave a review or PM me if you can, anything can help the Story. Now then, please everyone be safe and may the force be with you all and thank you all for reading, reviewing, following, favoriting, and sharing RWBY: Dark Side of a Rose! (Hard to believe this story is over three years old and soon to be four, Sorry I let it sit for so long guys.)
Next chapter: a lot of reunions and a lot of questions.
