Blushing on Ice
Yuri would never admit it but he often caught himself looking at Otabek while the two were practicing. Whenever Otabek saw him staring he would waive at him and wink, which would make Yuri blush furiously and quickly get back to his practice.
It was a little annoying how the Kazakhstan skater could get under Yuri's skin so damn easily. And why is that anyway? They're friends, so Otabek supporting and smiling at him was normal. There was no reason for the way Yuri's heart skipped a beat whenever Otabek would compliment him. Yet it just kept happening again and again.
Yuri sighed as he wiped the sweat of his face with a warm towel. He heard the locker room door open and close.
"Hey bright eyes." Otabek's laugh echoed through the room and Yuri could sense him walking closer. "So..." The man stood next to him, unlocking his own locker, "How long are you planning to pine after me? It's been fun but, I'm starting to think it's becoming a problem for you. You've been spending more time staring at me than practicing."
"Wh- Huh?" Yuri's face was bright red as he looked up at his crush. Damn it, he was still shorter.
Otabek smiled, "A few years ago you snuck into the club with me. This time, how about you go as my date?" He leaned in close, so close Yuri thought this was a dream and he was about to get a kiss.
Instead he just got a boop on the nose and a bright smile.
"Jerk." Yuri smiled and hid his eyes behind his bangs.
"Hope you won't hide those pretty eyes on our date. You know how much I love them." Yuri blushed harder as he heard Otabek humming as he left for the showers.
