The next thing Emma and Jasmine knew after sinking through the portal below them with the villains that had captured them, they found themselves in what appeared to be an abandoned building. The structure was made of dull grey stone that clearly hadn't been attended to in years. There were lights on the ceiling, but they weren't working, probably needing some form of repairs.

The two young girls tried to wriggle their way free, but it was no use. The hold of the villain whose stretchable arms were wrapped tightly around them was too strong.

"I see you've returned."

The new voice caused Emma and Jasmine to stop their struggling as they looked on to see someone walking up to them. It was a woman in her late twenties with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. The way the villains who had captured them acted as she appeared told the two girls that this was the boss of the group.

The woman silently eyed the two restrained girls. "I thought I only told you to capture Viserion's daughter."

"I thought it'd be nice to have a little extra leverage, so I nabbed one of the brats with her." the one with stretchable limbs said.

The woman let out a sigh. "Well I suppose you aren't wrong there, Cobra."

The hooded villain stepped away from the group. "I've done my part in this job. My debt to you helping me escape prison is repaid."

"Agreed." the woman said with a nod. "You may go now."

Not saying another word, the hooded villain walked away before opening up a portal below his feet and sinking down into it. With that, the woman brought her attention back to Emma and Jasmine.

"Lock them up. Make sure they don't escape."

"You got it, boss." Cobra said as he walked away with the two girls. He turned a corner and came to a door. After opening it, he tossed Emma and Jasmine inside.

Emma and Jasmine barely had time to pick themselves up off the floor before the door closed and locked behind them. They were stuck in the room alone together as Cobra walked back to his cohorts.

"Damnit!" Emma cursed as she kicked the door in futility. "Let us out you jerks!"

Jasmine frowned as she shivered in fear. "What are we going to do, Emma? I'm scared."

Emma couldn't blame Jasmine for being terrified. The young girl was always a bit on the timid side. And the two of them were in one of the scariest situations possible right now. Captured by villains with no clue where they were to be used as hostages. And on top of that, her brother and the others had no clue where they were either.

Suddenly, Emma's eyes widened. There was something they could do in their situation. She took a seat next to Jasmine and closed her eyes. "I'm going to try something."

Jasmine stared at her friend. "You mean you're going to use your Quirk? Do you think it'll work?"

"It's worth a shot." Emma told her. She slowly relaxed her breathing and activated her Quirk. Soon, two windows of light manifested before her out of thin air.

Emma Cersy. Quirk: Information Hub. She can collect and send information to others telepathically as long as they are within a certain radius of her. She can also tell the relative distance between her and anyone she is "linked" to with her Quirk.

Nearly all of the Cersy family had birthed children with nothing but dragon-related Quirks for generations. Emma however was of the tiny minority that didn't have a dragon-related Quirk. Her Quirk was a gene from her mother's side of the family. For years she had wondered if there was something wrong with her as a result of not being like the majority of her family. But her parents and brother had helped her move past those insecurities and realize that her Quirk was nothing to be ashamed of. And now it was that same Quirk that gave them a chance at pulling through this.

For Emma to link up with someone for her Quirk, she needed a clear mental image of the person. From there, her Quirk acted like a radar, searching for whether or not the specified person was within range for her. Through her practice, Emma's current max range was currently up to a few miles. Now she just had to hope her brother was within that distance from her.

'Come on, Marcus! Please be in range!'

Marcus ran through the streets of the city, desperate to find any clue of where the villains who took his sister had gone. He knew that his chances of finding anything were slim to none but with Emma in danger he couldn't stand around doing nothing.

"Emma!" Marcus shouted. "Emma!"

"Marcus, calm down." Sarah told him as she and Daiki finally managed to catch up with their friend. "I know you're worried. But acting rashly isn't going to get us anywhere."

"I know that!" Marcus snapped, sounding harsher than he meant to. He took a deep breath to calm his voice. "I know that. But still… those villains have a grudge against my dad. Who knows what they might do to Emma or Jasmine."

Daiki put a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Trust me, Marcus. We're not going to let those villains get away with this. And if they dare lay a hand on either of those two, they will pay. But we can't move without a plan. We've learned how to handle crisis situations in class."

Looking down at Daiki's free hand hanging at his side, Marcus could see slight sparks of electricity forming. Despite the cool head he was showing on the outside, it was clear Daiki was just as worried for Jasmine as Marcus was for Emma. But Daiki was right. He needed to calm down and think rationally.

"Alright, let's think this through. We have no way of knowing where those villains warped to." Sarah reminded them. "For now, we should probably find the closest pro hero and-"

Sarah was cut off as a window of light suddenly popped up in front of Marcus, startling all three of them. On the window was a vibrating sound wave. A quiet whisper came through it.

"Marcus? Marcus is that you?"

"Emma!" Marcus exclaimed, recognizing his sister's voice and Quirk. "Are you and Jasmine alright?! Where are you?! What about the villains that captured you?!"

"Not so loud! The villains might hear your voice!" Emma scolded. "Jasmine and I are fine. Those villains brought us to some kind of abandoned building and locked us in a room. I don't know exactly where it is. But since I was able to link up with you, I'm guessing it's within the city limits."

"Can you tell us anything that might help find you?" Sarah asked. "Any distinct features of the building?"

"I don't know. This place seems pretty old I guess, so the exterior is probably worn a bit too. All the windows were closed so I couldn't see outside at all." Emma explained. "The best I can give you is that we're south southwest about 3.7 kilometers from where you guys are standing." As if on cue, another window popped up, showing a rough map of the area with two blinking dots, one for Emma and one for Marcus.

"That's close to the max range of Emma's Quirk." Marcus noted, thanking their luck that they had been close enough for a link to be established.

Suddenly a noise was heard on Emma's end. "Sounds like one of the villains is coming back. I gotta cut the line for now. I'll try to make contact again soon."

Without another word, the screen of light vanished. Marcus breathed a sigh of relief that his sister was ok for the time being. But only being able to be in contact for brief moments like this was just a bit stressful for him. However, now that they had an idea as to where Emma and Jasmine were, they could act.

"Alright, let's get moving." Marcus said.

Sarah narrowed her eyes at her friend. "You're not seriously suggesting we rescue them ourselves, are you? Did you forget that we just finished detention for pulling a stunt like this with Paradise?"

"This is different." Marcus told her. "These villains are trying to flush my dad out and lure him somewhere. Even if he is a pro, that must mean they have some method in mind to take him down. On top of that, even if we went to his agency, we might end up outside of the range of Emma's Quirk by doing so. Lastly, we don't know how long those villains plan to stay in one spot. If they leave and take Emma and Jasmine somewhere else, we might lose the ability to contact them altogether. If we go ourselves, that solves all three issues at once."

Daiki thought about Marcus's argument. "You make some good points. This might be the best way to rescue them, even if it is a tad on the reckless side."

Sarah let out a sigh. "Well I'm not about to let you two do this alone. Fine. I'm in." she told them.

"Yeah! Let's go rescue Emma and Jasmine!" Kione shouted as she sat on her sister's shoulder.

"Hold it right there, sis." Sarah told Kione as she picked up her sister from the back of her shirt. "Marcus, Daiki, and I are in the hero course. You aren't. So you are going to stay elsewhere while we take care of this."

"I can help too!" Kione said as she flailed around midair in her sister's hold. "I'm not going to do nothing when my best friends are in danger!"

"I said no, and that's final."

Daiki let out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head. "Well, it's not like there's any place closeby for us to drop her off on the way. It should be fine as long as we have her wait outside."

Sarah wanted to argue, but she knew Daiki had a fair point. Time was of the essence here. They didn't have time to go to Sarah's home, drop Kione off, and go rescue Emma and Jasmine. She let out an aggravated sigh.

"Fine. But you are to do exactly as I say, no matter what. Is that understood?"

Kione nodded her head. "I promise."

"Alright. Now that that's settled, let's move out." Marcus said. "We'll try to follow Emma's direction for now to get closer while we wait for her to contact us again."

The group of Marcus, Sarah, Daiki, and Kione quickly moved through the city as they went in the direction Emma had pointed them to. They were able to get in contact with Emma for brief moments at a time where she corrected any minor errors in their course. After nearly thirty minutes of travel, they had located the building where Emma and Jasmine were being held.

It was in the slums of the city, a perfect place for villains to hide out. Marcus and the others were on the roof of the building across the street, staking the place out. It was old and seemed to be abandoned, matching Emma's description. Nobody was standing guard outside, though it would be foolish for them to do so as it would only draw attention. But that also meant Marcus and the others now had the opportunity to sneak in for a surprise attack.

"Ok, first thing's first. We need to locate Emma and Jasmine." Marcus said. Hero coursework had drilled various emergency situations into them. In a hostage case, locating the hostages so they could act quickly upon entering was always paramount. "Any chance you could sneak inside, Daiki?"

Daiki shook his head. "I'd need an outlet on the outside of the house to get in without being noticed. And even then, I don't have my costume with me so it's not practical to turn my whole body into electricity and travel through wiring."

"My warping should probably be a last resort too." Sarah added. "There's too much of a chance of me accidentally being seen."

Marcus thought to himself. Daiki and Sarah were the two among the three of them with any chance of moving stealthily. His own Quirk was far from subtle and quiet, making it poorly suited for sneaking around. Perhaps their best bet was to have Sarah go in and simply pray she wouldn't get caught. But just as he was about to suggest this, Kione spoke up.

"I can do it."

All heads turned to the tiny girl on Sarah's shoulder. Kione looked at all of them as she continued.

"I can sneak around unnoticed with my Quirk. I just need a way in. Then, once I find Emma and Jasmine, I can let you know."

"Absolutely not." Sarah argued. "We brought you along because we were racing against the clock. I never said anything about you going in there, and I'm not doing it now."

"But I'm the best suited for it." Kione told her. "With my size, I can move around the vents unnoticed. The villains will never know I'm there."

"This is not up for discussion. I am not putting you at risk."

"And what if something happens to Emma and Jasmine if you get caught or we stand here too long arguing?" Kione retorted. "They're my best friends. I want to help them, and I have the best chance at making this work."

Sarah knew Kione's point was valid. In terms of Quirks, hers was the best for sneaking around unnoticed. But that didn't change the fact that Kione was still a child and in no way experienced with facing villains like Sarah and the others were. If Kione got caught, Sarah didn't even want to imagine what might happen.

"Please, sis." Kione begged. "I promise I'll be extremely careful. I want to be able to help."

Sarah let out a frustrated sigh. She turned to her friends. "What do you guys think?"

"As much as I don't want to admit it, Kione's right. She is our best bet at locating where in the building Emma and Jasmine are." Daiki said.

"But she's still your sister. At the end of the day, it's your call Sarah." Marcus added.

Sarah thought to herself for another few moments, before she finally gave in. "Very well."

After using Sarah's Quirk to get quietly inside, Kione had begun her mission to locate her friends. Due to the building's neglect, most of the doors were either left open or just missing entirely. This allowed Kione to move around easier. When she had found a vent, she squeezed herself through it and began moving around.

Kione Radcliffe. Quirk: Dollsize. Her regular height is roughly that of a doll. This is not a transformation and she is instead constantly this height.

The building itself was only a couple floors high, so Kione thankfully wouldn't need to worry about having too much ground to cover. She moved through the vents, doing all she could to be as quiet as possible.

Although she had volunteered herself for this, the fact that she was now doing it made Kione just the tiniest bit nervous. If she was caught by the villains, she was screwed. But she couldn't back down now just because of a little fear. Her friends were in danger, and if their roles were reversed Kione knew they would do the same for her.

As Kione walked through the vents, she picked up on some noise. Quietly continuing, she moved over to a nearby grate and peeked her head out.

The sight she was greeted with was one of the villains she had seen back in the city. The only difference was the hooded villain now seemed to be absent while a woman she hadn't seen before was with the group.

The bald man of the group grunted as he leaned against a wall. "How much longer till we get to pound Viserion into the dirt? I'm sick of waiting."

"Patience, Clay." the woman told him. "We first need to wait for the news that Viserion's precious little girl has been kidnapped to reach him. He'll panic and become desperate to save her. After we wait a bit, we'll send him our demands."

The purple-haired villain wearing shades held out his hand as his nails suddenly grew in length. "We could always rough up those kids a bit and send him pics. I bet that'd really get to him."

"Let's save that as a last resort, Ripper. Those two girls are valuable hostages." the woman said. "Let's not forget why we're all doing this. To get our revenge on Viserion. He's our target here, not a couple of prepubescent brats."

"Tch, fine." Ripper grunted. He watched as the villain with white facepaint silently danced around clapping. "Would you cut it out, Mimic?! Nobody asked for your opinion!"

Mimic made no verbal response, but instead stuck out his tongue mockingly, only further annoying Ripper.

The fact that one of the villains was missing worried Kione a little, but she still had a job to do. She continued moving through the vent system and making her way through the building.

Knowing the villains there was good information to have. Every bit of info she could relay to Sarah and the others was worth its weight in gold for ensuring the rescue went off successfully. But first, she needed to locate Emma and Jasmine. With any luck, they would be left relatively unattended for now and she could relay everything to them through Emma's Quirk.

After another couple minutes of wandering around, Kione came to yet another grate opening. She glanced out of it, and this time she found what she had finally been looking for.

"Emma! Jasmine!" Kione called out in a raised whisper.

The two girls turned their heads to the vent and gasped in shock. "Kione?!"

"Shh! Not so loud!" Kione told them. She slipped through the grate and ran over to her friends. Emma picked her up and the three girls shared a gentle hug so as to not crush Kione. Once they finished their brief reunion gesture, Kione continued the mission. "Alright, I have a decent idea where we are in the building. Can you open a link to Marcus and the others?"

Emma nodded her head. "You got it."

Ten minutes had passed since Kione had begun her infiltration. The entire time, Sarah had been pacing around the roof of the building she and her friends were staking out from. Even though she had agreed to this plan in the end, that didn't stop Sarah from being worried for her little sister's safety.

"She'll be fine, Sarah." Daiki assured her. "We just need to trust her."

"I know that, but… ugh, I can't believe I agreed to this." Sarah said. "If something happens to Kione, I'll never forgive myself."

Just as Marcus was about to respond, a window of light from Emma's Quirk popped up in front of him. The voice of his sister spoke through it. "Marcus? Everyone? Are you there?"

"Emma." Marcus said in relief. "Did Kione meet up with you?"

"Yeah. She's here with us now." Emma confirmed. "I'm putting her in contact now."

A couple seconds passed before Kione's voice was heard. "Hello? Can you guys hear me?"

"Kione!" Sarah exclaimed in relief. "Are you alright? You weren't seen?"

"Nope. Though I did see them in one of the rooms." Kione said.

"Alright, as long as you weren't seen, that's what's important." Daiki said. "So what can you tell us?"

Kione went on to explain everything to Marcus and the others. She told them a rough idea of where the room they were in was located. She told them about the villains she had seen and how the one with the warping Quirk was no longer there. She told them as much of the layout of the building as she was able to figure out from her journey through the vents. Once she was finished, Marcus told the three girls to sit tight and that they would be there soon.

Once Emma cut the line, Marcus, Sarah, and Daiki glanced at each other and shared a nod. There were no ifs, ands, or buts about it. They were going to succeed with this mission.

The trio stood side by side as they leaped from the roof and landed right in front of the building. Using his Quirk to transform his hands into talons, he led the charge as they burst right through the front door.

"Let's go, guys!" Marcus shouted. "Time to make these villains regret messing with our family!"
