Chapter 3 – My Win
A small little idea that I had. Another day, another battle for the 501st. Just a normal one, right? Yeah.
Hope you enjoy.

Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker smiled as he cut through two more battle droids that were unfortunate enough to be within his range. This battle was going exceedingly well. The Separatists were trying to build a base on this planet, but the Republic had learned of it faster than they were planning to. So, his 501st had been deployed to flatten the base before it was completed.
"At this rate, we'll be done before dinner," he thought amused as he surveyed the scene. Despite being outnumbered, his men were tearing through the droids with ease. The planet's lush vegetation and terrain gave them plenty of cover that they were taking heavy advantage of. Droids were falling left and right, they didn't stand a chance.
He smirked. This victory would be easy. Even better, he knew he was going to beat his Padawan again today. They were up to their usual game of who can destroy the most clankers. This time however, they added a little bet. Winner gets to decide the restaurant they go to once they get back to Coruscant. He already had a nice restaurant in mind, definitely not a suggestion from a certain Senator. Of course not. At the same time, he knew that Ahsoka had her mind set on this buffet that was some form of heavenly dream for a carnivore like her. Sorry as he felt for his apprentice, he was not losing today.
Speaking of Ahsoka, she was definitely enjoying herself too. All of the vegetation gave her a lot of cover that she was taking great advantage of as well. Her hunting instincts were kicking in full force and she had left both clones and droids shocked with her sudden appearances. It was nice to see her so excited, but he still wasn't going to let her win.
Using the Force, he crushed several Super battle droids together into a nicely sized ball of scrap and hurled it at an advancing group of clankers, crushing them with a nicely satisfying sound. He was about to call to Rex to push their own advance when the ground suddenly rumbled. He looked at the origin of the noise and his eyes widened in shock.
Some kind of massive Separatist tank was rolling towards the battle field. He had no idea what it was, it was definitely some form of custom design, perhaps some new experimental one they were trying out. It towered above the trees like some kind of mobile bunker, a multitude of heavy blaster cannons were blasting away at the ground and vegetation. It was attempting to clear a path to the battlefield. To them.
He was worried. If that thing got close enough to be in range of his troops, they'd be wiped out. It wouldn't even need to fire. With its size, it could just flatten them all underneath its tracks. He knew instantly, they couldn't let that thing get any closer.
Rex stepped up next to him. "General, we need to get rid of that thing sooner than later," he commented. The clone captain knew that that tank could turn this whole battle around quickly.
"Can't agree more with you Rex," Anakin replied. He activated his commlink. They thankfully had several artillery cannons with them. They could deal with this. "Artillery, you have a new target. We have an unknown type of Separatist tank that we need flattened as soon as possible. Mark these coordinates and prepare to fire!"
Before he got a reply from the artillery squad, Ahsoka's voice sounded over the comms. "Negative! Ignore that order men!" she called out.
Anakin frowned. What was she thinking? "Ahsoka, what is wrong with you? We need to take that thing out now! Before it gets in firing range of our men! Artillery, get ready to fire!" He shook his head. Already working out a lecture for his stubborn Padawan.
"I said no!" Ahsoka called back over the comms. "Do not! I repeat, do not! Fire at that tank!"
Anakin grumbled in annoyance. He could feel Rex' concern and confusion next to him. "And why not, Padawan? Why shouldn't we blow up that tank BEFORE it gets within range of OUR MEN?!" He failed to keep the frustration out of his voice. He didn't know what his Padawan was playing at, but this needed to stop before it got out of hand.
Ahsoka's comm was still active, so they could hear her running and then a door opening. Strangely enough, the metal voice of a droid sounded through the comm. "Hey! How did you get here? You're not supposed to agh…." The droid was cut off by the sound of a lightsaber swishing through it and several other droids.
Anakin grew more annoyed. "Ahsoka! Answer me! Why shouldn't we destroy that tank?!"
Ahsoka's voice came over the comm, loud and triumphant: "BECAUSE IT'S MINE NOW!" she exclaimed.
Anakin and Rex turned to each other in confusion when the tank suddenly turned around sharply, facing the droid army instead of them. All of its cannons began to blast the droids to pieces instantly.
"Sir…" Rex began in a shocked voice. "Did the commander just highjack a Seppie tank?" he asked as he watched the tank blast through dozens of droids with each shot. Ahsoka's excited laughter and cheers sounding over the comm.
"I guess she did," Anakin replied quietly, torn between shock, pride, amusement and several other emotions.
The tank kept blasting through the droids as if they were made out of paper.
"I'M WINNING TODAY SKYGUY!"
;-
That's the end of this chapter.
I can totally picture Ahsoka using her natural abilities as a Togruta Huntress to steal a tank from the Seppies and go to town with it. I just had to write it out.
Until next time.
