I'm going camping for two weeks on Sunday, so I won't be able to upload much for a while. But I will be taking my laptop with me so I'll probably have some new chapters for you guy's when I get back.

Reviews are always welcome and very much appreciated.

Chapter 9 part 1

My foot was healing well and when Wednesday came around I went to work without the crutches and I could wear a flat shoe again on my injured foot. I never realized how high the heels are of the women who work on my floor, but I'm standing out like a sore thumb when I walk around between them. It's so annoying to have to look up to everyone I talk to, even miss Pots. Mister Stark and Happy liked to make fun of me when I ran into them. Sadly work was as busy as always with the last preparations taking place for the Stark Gala next week and as usual a bunch of things were going wrong and needed to be fixed. Why can't these events ever go according to plan? And to make matters worse, mister Stark thought it was the perfect time to give miss Pots a present in the form of redoing her office. Apparently she has been mentioning it since she became CEO, but never got around to actually doing it. So naturally mister Stark thought now was the perfect time. The work would take a couple of weeks because they would also redo miss Pots private meeting rooms and the assistance corner where my desk was located. I was not looking forward to having workmen trot around and disrupt our work for weeks. The worst part was that I had been put in charge of assisting the company who was taking care of the work. Most guys weren't really a problem. They only needed a day to learn the women are in charge here and don't tolerate their boorish way's, but one still hadn't learned that lesson. He was currently trying to chat up Thalia. Even she was having difficulty getting rid of him and she's rather rude and to the point.

"Miss Taylor, you have a visitor."

I looked up surprised to see Camille call out to me. She was holding a phone and nodded towards the elevator. It's still weird when she's polite to me, but miss Pots was running around the place, so we were on our best behavior. Camille looked annoyed, but that could be explained by the fact that her desk had been moved and the workmen hadn't given her a heads-up and just put everything of her on her desk, disorganizing her work. I would have been annoyed too, so I took precautions and cleaned my desk. I watched the elevator as the doors open and saw Wanda walk out awkwardly. She looked so out of place in this scenery in her red jacket, simple black dress, thigh high socks and black boots. She looked like any other normal slash awkward young adult, but luckily I knew better.

"Wanda…hi, what can I do for you?" I asked and got up from my desk. I walked her to the small balcony behind my desk. It was only used by people who needed to smoke so I hardly ever came out here. The astray was filled to the brim with used cigarettes. I doubt the cleaning lady would come here often to empty it.

"I might have overheard that Steve invited you to Sam's sister this weekend and I thought I'd come over and do some begging, because a whole weekend with that bunch is not exactly my idea of a good time," the witch informed me and we both sat down on the crappy metal chairs that were huddled around the astray. Why am I not surprised that she found out about this? Before I could even sent her a look telling her I was not amused she added it was accidently: "Steve and Barnes were in the gym and I wanted to annoy them, but they hadn't heard me walk in. They don't know I know though."

"And when did you overhear this?" I asked and she smiled sheepishly at me. I hadn't given the Captain my answer yet and I was dreading running into the man as I wasn't sure what to do. Wanda admitted she overheard the duo talking an hour ago: "I came straight here because I think you coming with me would be a really good idea."

"And why is that exactly?" I asked and leaned back in my chair while she pulled her long hair over her shoulder. She can't be serious about asking me to come too? I hadn't made up my mind about the weekend yet because on the one hand I couldn't get my boss his words out of my head and I knew he was right, but on the other side I was curious and maybe a little bit excited about the idea and possibilities.

"Because we are going to get along so well and I don't want to be stuck with Nat all weekend. She's fun and all, but let's face it, she's not my age. And we need to get another girl on the team. We thought we got a new member when Hope showed up, but she hardly ever visits and Pepper is always so busy and Laura has the kids constantly, so please come out with us. I'm in desperate need of another girl in the compound that's my age," Wanda begged me and took my hands to emphasize her begging. Her pleading made me chuckle: "What would we even talk about? You are rather a special individual and I'm more…casual?"

"Puh-lease even witches like me like dishing about men, colleagues, nights out with girlfriends, work etc. I promise you will not regret it," Wanda tried to convince me but I still wasn't sure I was ready for something like this. I'm not even telling my friends about this and Tess only knows because she saw me talking to the duo in that club, but I've managed to keep her at an arm's length about the subject. My hesitation must have been visible on my face because Wanda started pleading with me again: "Oh just come with me on this weekend. I don't want to spend the whole weekend with the boy's and me and Sarah don't really have anything in common. I don't think she even likes me. I promise we'll ditch the boy's as soon as we get there and what do you really have to lose?"

"And what will we do all weekend?" I asked and the woman smiled brightly at me: "We'll do movie marathons or TV shows, we'll get tickets to some concert and go out. We'll get drunk and get matching tattoos, go skinny dipping if your into that, go search for leprechauns, find a unicorn…I don't know. Just please come with me and be my friend."

"Oh my God…" I said slowly as I realized she really didn't have any friends and the only people she probably mingled with were her co-workers. That's a little…sad.

"What?"

"Are you really this depressed to have an actual friend?" I asked and she let go of my hands and leaned back while I eyed her curiously. She didn't seem to be uncomfortable for me pointing out she didn't have any friends. What's wrong with her? I mean besides the oblivious things. She seems to be nice, maybe a bit needy, but she's also smart according to my bosses and funny.

"Yes I confess," Wanda sighed and started pacing around the balcony: "I don't have anyone to do any of those things with and you are the first girl that shows up in my little world of weird shit that's like me…"

"Sure we're alike…" I interrupted her and she reminded me of the references I had made on the dancefloor where we met: "And I've been on horrible dates with shitty men too these last months and I would love to complain about that, but I don't have anyone to complain to. Nat's great at listening and giving advice, but she sucks at being a girlfriend and just agreeing with whatever nonsense you are saying. I get that I'm being very needy and I'm covered in desperation, but I choose you to be my friend."

I needed a minute to take it all in and she looked at me with an honest look. She's being serious about this. She actually wants to be my friend? A witch wants to be my friend? I feel like I should be getting my Hogwarts letter for some reason: "Did you just make a Pokémon move on me?"

"Yes! See this is what I'm talking about! No one gets the quotes I throw at them around here but you do. Do you know how many times I tell that joke to Steve? Every single time we head out together. You are the Slytherin to my Slytherin."

"I thought you were more of a Ravenclaw…" I said but she interrupted me by saying she saw herself more as a cunning and loyal person: "So is that a yes?"

"It's a maybe," I sighed and stood up to stand next to her at the railing, looking out at the city. We had an incredible view from our office: "I'm not sure how I feel about this weird sudden Santana confession."

"I like to think I'm Britney and you are Santana," Wanda joked and I was surprised she got that reference as well. One of the most powerful creatures in the galaxy watched Glee? I turned my head to her and smiled: "But without the sexual tension. I'm not interested in going skinny dipping with you this weekend," but maybe we can go look for a unicorn."

"You're a buzzkill," Wanda joked but quickly added that I missed certain body parts to turn her head. I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from asking if the Vision had had those parts because he was technically an android. But maybe we aren't there yet to talk about him. But she did mention she's been on crappy dates these last couple of months, so that must mean she's starting to move on.

"How about you be the Carrie to my Samantha?" Wanda asked and I raised an eyebrow at her and asked if she really was that promiscuous. She had to laugh at that and mentioned she didn't have that many bedpartners and wasn't planning on upping her number: "Besides I don't see myself as a Charlotte or Miranda and we both can't be Samantha."

"Why can't I be Samantha?" I asked and she laughed and asked if that meant Steve would be Smith Jared and we both laughed at that idea. I can't believe I'm having a conversation at my work with a witch about Captain America being Smith Jared: "Oh God, please stop!"

"Only if you say yes," Wanda pleaded with me and I gave in. What do I really have to lose? It's not like I'm going on a weekend with frat boys or some sleaze ball, like that guy annoying Thalia, who was one minute away from losing her shit: "Fine, but you have to promise to stick by my side and don't ever compare the Captain to Smith Jared again."

"I'll pick you up at Friday at four, don't be late," Wanda smiled brightly at me and I wondered if I had just signed my own death warrant or something. I can't believe I'm going away for the weekend with the Avengers.

"Taylor!" I heard mister Stark call me and I saw the man stand at my desk looking around for me. Camille was quick to point to me and the man turned towards the balcony. Wanda took that as her cue to leave. Mister Stark stared after her and asked me what she was doing here. I couldn't come up with any excuse fast enough that the man would believe so I sighed and told him: "She invited me over for the weekend to hang out."

"Wanda wants to hang out…with you?" mister Stark asked me curiously and I tried to advert his attention by showing him the progress we were making on the event for next Friday. He let me talk, but I could feel him eyeing me.

"And where would you two be going this weekend?" mister Stark asked me when I was done and ignored my questions. He kept his voice down and I was grateful for that because I didn't need the evil twins to know I was going to hang out with a witch. I hesitated, trying to come up with a vague description as to where we are going. The best lies are the ones with details right: "Oh she knows someone that invited us, away from the city."

"Uhu, that friend wouldn't happen to be Sam, would it?" my boss asked me and I froze. Oh come on, how does he know about this? Why can't I seem to keep this a secret? I'm usually rather good at making sure people don't but into my business, if I don't want them too, but these people are practically mind readers!

"Steve mentioned he was heading to Sarah's house this weekend. Nice woman, has a real fire ball attitude," mister Stark mentioned casually and I was surprised he also knew this woman. I wasn't under the impression that he and mister Wilson interacted much. When I finally managed to find my tongue, mister Stark leaned in and spoke in a quite tone: "What happened to thinking about what I said Saturday?"

I looked at him perplexed he would bring that up. I needed a minute to come up with an answer: "I guess I'm the rebellious type of daughter."

"Don't come crying to me when I'm proven right kiddo," mister Stark said and then leaned back and he started talking about the reason he was actually here to see me. I listened as he handed me work, but I was confused by what he had said, especially when he called me kiddo. He always calls me Taylor and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any secret nickname for me because else I'm sure miss Pots would have told me by now. But being called kiddo by him felt weird.

"What was that all about pig head?" Thalia asked me when I sat back down at my desk and mister Stark was gone. She had finally gotten rid of the maintenance guy, whose name is Berry Dopler. I didn't look at her and kept my eyes focused on my notes that I had written down: "None of your business weasel face."

Friday came much too soon and I was super nervous for going away. I had put of packing a bag so when I got off work I had to hurry to get home and just stuffed some clothes, a toothbrush, extra shoes and a book in my duffle bag. I can't believe I'm doing this. Why am I even doing this? What do I even talk about with these people? Work stuff? I doubt they can tell me a lot. What do they even do while they get away? Play super soccer. I could just see me trying to keep up with them. I got more nervous with every minute that passed. When my bag was done, I received a text message from Wanda. I didn't even wonder how she got my number. She texted me that she was going to be fifteen minutes late. Traffic was apparently the reason. I decided to hope into the shower and scrub of the sleaze ball that tried to pick me up earlier at work.

"Hey Alexandra, I've got two tickets to a Knicks game tonight. What do you say to me taking you out?" I looked up from my phone and my smile disappeared quickly. I was on my way to see miss Pots when my path got blocked by the new maintenance guy, mister Dopler. Every day he had been hanging around on our floor. He was…well…something. He was kind of pushy. He has been trying to flirt with a couple of my coworkers and since two day's he has been trying to chat me up. Not that I was interested and I kept the conversations short but polite.

"Sorry, I am on my way to see miss Pots. You'll have to excuse me," I politely tried to get around him, but he stopped me none the less: "Come on, we'll have a blast."

"You'll have to find someone else I'm afraid. Now excuse me," I said and walked passed him to my boss her office. There was something just…ick…about his guy. Sure he was probably only trying to get in my pants, but there was something else about him that creeped me out.

"Are you sure? I could show you a good time," the guy called after me and I rolled my eyes as I responded that I was sure and then I walked into miss Pots office. I made sure to close the door so he wouldn't get the idea to come in and pretended to do some measuring. I haven't seen him do much work since he started her Tuesday. The other guys were always busy and we all did our best to stay out of each other's way, but this guy seemed more interested in scoring with the ladies of my floor.

I sighed and finished my shower, towel drying my hair as I got out. I was dressed and ready to go when Wanda texted me she was in my street. I closed my duffle bag and pulled on my shoes. I threw my bag on my back, grabbed my jacket, purse and an extra pair of shoes. When I was at my door I asked myself again why I agreed to going along with this weekend. Wanda seems like a nice woman and we did seem to have a few things in common, so hanging out with her sounded like fun. But the Captain will be there and the Sergeant as well. And some of their other friends. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but Wanda did promise we would ditch them when we arrived. I so hope she isn't lying about that.

"Wow you actually showed up," Wanda told me and the trunk opened but I doubted her car had a button in the front to do that. I threw my duffle bag in and saw she also had some kind of duffle bag instead of a proper suitcase: "I took a run last night after work with wet hair, hoping I would get sick, but seems you are in luck."

"Lucky me," the witch said and the trunk closed itself automatically. I was surprised by that but I did think I saw a faint red glow. When I walked to the passenger side and wanted to open the door, it opened itself and this time I was sure I saw the red glow. This weekend is going to be interesting.

"So I might have seen you are a bit of the adventure type and luckily so am I. I found a place that's on our way to Sarah's where I thought we could do some spelunking," Wanda said as she started the car and drove into the street. I'm going spelunking with a witch? Am I on drugs? Or did a car hit me and I'm actually in a coma and this is all a fantasy?

"Hmm that does actually sound like fun, but then you have to let me be the boss over the radio on this road trip," I said and pulled out a my phone and connected it to the radio of her car. Wanda joked that I could only DJ if I had good taste in music, but was very surprised as the intro song of Veronica Mars started playing and she knew it apparently: "Oh my God, you watch Veronica Mars?"

"Yeah, you know it too?" I asked and checked the address Wanda had texted me earlier where Sarah lived: "Hey Wanda how are we going to get to Louisiana before the end of the weekend?"

"We're taking a private jet in New Jersey that will fly us to Alexandria in Louisiana and then I rented a car so we could drive the rest of the way. I thought that would be more fun and as I mentioned there is a cave on our road where we can go spelunking," Wanda explained and I looked confused at her. How am I supposed to pay for a private jet? She seemed to get my uneasiness and explained it's an Avengers jet so I didn't have to worry about it: "It's on me, but back to Kirsten Bell. I love her and especially in Veronica Mars!"

"Well then you are in luck because I have brought the DVD box of season 1-3," I said and pulled the DVD box out of my purse. Wanda practically squalled and said we were going to binge watch that all night long: "Logan was so…"

"Amazingly sexy?" I ended her sentence and we both laughed. The next song came on and I turned down the volume so it was easier to talk: "I also thought Dick wasn't that bad to look at either, although he was…well…a dick. I can't believe that's an actual name."

"Oh and that new guy in season 3. He was cute too," Wanda pointed out and I remembered that guy was playing in that wrestle show I had watched last weekend with my girlfriends: "He looked so much like Zac Efron during his High School musical days."

"Did you see Efron in Baywatch?" Wanda asked and pushed down the gas pedal. I have been on the Starks private jet before, so it wasn't anything new but I had always been there to work and usually that meant babysitting Morgan or sticking by miss Pots' side at all times: "Oh girl please, what a millennial would I have been if I hadn't seen him in that movie. Anyway I brought that movie too."

"Brilliant! We'll keep that one for tomorrow though. Maybe the guy's might want to see it too," Wanda said and I shook my head saying I couldn't watch that movie with the Captain sitting next to me: "How will I thrust over Zac Efron with the Captain sitting right there?"

"You'll just have to find a way to hide you female boner," Wanda laughed and I chuckled at her choice of words. We had an amazing evening as we made our way down to Louisiana. We arrived at a private airport of the Avengers after roughly two hours. By that time I had found out that Wanda and I shared a great love for musicals like Mean Girls, Legally Blond and Six and we are both Taylor Swift fans. When we boarded the private jet we were offered champagne and I couldn't stop myself from pushing my bag in one of the flight attendant's hands, chuck my glass and say: "Honey, I have arrived."

We watched the Legally Blond Musical during the flight and searched for tickets to a Taylor Swift concert. Wanda found out there was one tomorrow in Atlanta, but sadly it was sold out. She asked me with a joking tone if it would be wrong to use her powers to get her hands on a pair of tickets for us.

"I think that would be considered an abuse of your powers, maybe someone won't be able to go and they'll sell their tickets," I responded as the Legally Blond musical ended. I got up and changed the DVD so we could start watching Veronica Mars: "So what will we be doing at this place where we are staying?"

The two female flight attendants were apparently also fans of the show and ended up watching with us. We even told them to grab two champagne glasses and join us. They seemed to be around our age and they easily talked along when we shared opinions about TV shows, movies, music and actors we thought were handsome.

"Sarah lives by the water, so we can go swimming and the town has a few cute shops so we can do that. I also found a paintball site not too far from Sarah's place, so that will be interesting," Wanda summed up and I choked on my drink: "You cannot be serious. How am I supposed to win from a witch?"

"I'll be on your team, don't worry. I was more thinking about taking the boy's down," Wanda pointed out and Jenny, the eldest of the flight attendant's asked who she meant by that so Wanda explained: "Steve, Sam and Barnes. I'm sure Sarah would be on our team. She will love being able to shoot Sam. And I don't want it to turn into some girls versus boy's game, so we'll let Clint join us as well."

"Clint Barton will also be there?" I asked and apparently the other people coming are him and Natasha. I wasn't sure how I felt about her being there because she was intimidating as hell. But mister Barton always seemed nice and funny. When he came to Morgan's party with his kids, he played with them all afternoon and seemed to have a good bond with them.

The car Wanda hired was waiting at the private airport for us. I got behind the wheel and she linked her phone to the car radio to be the DJ this time. We listened and sang to Taylor Swift songs and arrived at the cave where we would go spelunking around nine o'clock. We were part of the last group that was going into the cave. Wanda and I gave each other one look when we saw our tour guide and started giggling like little girls. The tour guide was really handsome. It was a small group so I pushed Wanda to flirt with the man. I was surprised that she did it, but I knew it was just for fun. I was curious about her relationship with the Vision, but I didn't feel comfortable to bring that subject up just yet. Mister Stark suffered greatly after the android died. We stayed after the tour for two hours and had drinks with the guy. He took us to a bar nearby. If I wasn't going with Wanda, I would never have agreed to it, but what man would try anything with this woman around? So I didn't see the harm of going along with him.

"Oh my God, they have a bull! We are so getting you on top of that machine," Wanda said as we walked in the bar and saw the mechanical bull in the middle of the bar. There was a crowd surrounding it and cheering as a man was getting on top of it. He didn't last long on it though and the people laughed as he went flying after ten seconds.

"Only if you try it too and no using your powers to cheat," I said and whispered the last bit in her ear so no one else heard it. I wonder how easy people recognize her? She pulled on a pair of fake glasses while we were driving to the bar and pulled her hair in a high ponytail.

"You're on," Wanda said and we let the tour guide buy us a drink. We talked for an hour and the guy was pretty laid back and I don't think he had any idea who Wanda was. He didn't seem intimidate by her and wasn't afraid to make sarcastic jokes and playful banter with the witch. He came from Australia and is in the country on a work visa. He was traveling around the world and for now he was staying her to explore the area.

"I think you ladies need a new drink," the tour guide, who's name I keep forgetting, offered me, but Wanda had other plans. She jumped of the barstool she was sitting on and pulled me with her: "She needs to get on top of that bull."

"So do you," I said as she dragged me along to the machine and pushed me on top of it. I thought it would be hilarious until I was sitting on top and realized that I was never going to be able to hold on for long. The fall was also deeper than I expected. Oh please don't let me hurt myself! The crowd started to cheer as the machine started moving and I held on for dear life. As expected I lasted about six seconds. Wanda cheered me on and laughed when I rolled over on the mat. My heart was beating faster and I was surprised that the ride was scarier than I expected it to be. My thighs were also hurting from suddenly being squeezed so hard against the machine.

"Your turn!" I said out of breath and winked at her as I crawled back on my feet. The woman winked back at me and pushed up her long sleeves and she climbed on top of the machine. The crowd cheered as the machine started and Wanda looked determined to show everyone how it was done, but she only lasted a few seconds longer than me. She went flying off with a screech and me and the tour guide laughed at her.

"Well that was fun but I think we should head to Sarah's place. It's getting rather late," Wanda said also out of breath and I realized that the nervous feelings I had when I got home from work had disappeared when Wanda came to pick me up, but now that we were almost at Sarah's house, they came flooding back. I coughed to make sure my voice sounded even: "You are probably right."

I drove the rest of the way and we continued to listen to Wanda's Taylor Swift playlist. It was past midnight when I pulled up in the driveway of Sarah's house. I haven't been to Louisiana before but I told Wanda I wanted to go for a walk in the morning to check out the houses: "I thought you told me they aren't rich, but this house looks gorgeous."

"It's a wooden house so it's cheaper, but Sarah's is working on fixing the place up," Wanda explained and I didn't understand what needed to be fixed. I parked the car next to a Jeep. I didn't see the Captain's car so I wondered if maybe he hadn't arrived yet. My heart was pounding hard in my chest as I turned off the engine. The house was really gorgeous: white columns, a long balcony, a wide porch and all the windows had shutters. For not being rich the Wilson family had a very decent lot with big trees and bushes. Must be a cool house to grow up in as a kid. Wanda told me that Sarah had two sons, named AJ and Cass. Her husband was deceased. Oh such great things to have in common.

There was only one light burning inside the house, but as Wanda and I got out of the car a light on the porch went on. We looked at the door and saw mister Wilson opening the front door: "Well it's about time you two showed up."

"I told you I wasn't sure when we would be arriving," Wanda responded while waving her hand and opening the trunk of her car. I'm going to need time to get used to that. She stopped me when I wanted to grab my bag: "I got these. Don't worry about it."

She waved her hands again and both bags were surrounded by a red glow and she levitated them towards Sam. I grabbed my purse and followed her. I felt nervous all of a sudden and it irked me. I had no reason to be nervous. I just hung out with a witch for crying out load. What could be more scarier than that?

"Well you missed dinner," mister Wilson said and Wanda said we ate on the road. As we waked up to the house I noticed the light that was on was coming from the kitchen. I could see Natasha standing with her back to the window. Mister Wilson stopped the two floating bags when they reached the front door: "No powers in the house Wanda."

"Spoilsport," the witch said and stuck her tongue out at the man. We lifted our duffle bags over our shoulders and mister Wilson introduced himself to me and explained that his sister and nephews were asleep: "So keep it down. Nat, Clint and Steve are in the kitchen playing poker."

"I thought Barnes was also coming," Wanda asked as we followed the man into the house. I looked around as we made our way upstairs. I understood what Wanda meant with 'Sarah's fixing the house', because the inside of the house looked very weathered. A house like this must not be easy to keep maintained, especially not with the weather down here in Louisiana.

"He had some business to take care of apparently. He'll be joining us tomorrow morning," Sam explained and he showed us to our room upstairs. Wanda and I would be bunking together for the weekend. Sam let us settle in and Wanda said we would come say hi in a minute. I opened my bag and pulled on a sweater and a deck of cards. I have a few games at home my friends and I love to play and I figured maybe it's a smart move to bring one along as an icebreaker. Before we headed downstairs I took my shoes of because my injured foot was throbbing. I shouldn't have driven the last part. Wanda noticed and asked if I was alright, but I waved it away: "Nothing a goodnight's rest won't fix."

"Thirty minutes and then we'll pretend we are tired and come back upstairs to continue watching Veronica Mars on my laptop," Wanda whispered in my ear as we headed downstairs I smirked at her. For some reason with every footstep I made my heart started beating faster. I hate feeling like this. I have spent time with this man before, flirted even and I never felt this nervous. Was it because his friends were here or because we almost kissed the last time? As I walked in the kitchen and my eyes met the Captain, I had to bite the inside of my cheek hard to stop myself from blushing like a mad woman. Yeah, it was defiantly the later I figured as his eyes met mine and flashed me his sweetest smile. I could feel my knees wobble slightly.
