The story is simple.

It all started with a luminescent baby, who suddenly started to glow out of nowhere, then a girl who could suddenly create ice, then a kid with super speed. This random development of supernatural abilities first threw society into chaos.

Some people were considering it the end of the world, and others just simply took advantage of it, like the infamous Symbol of Terror.

But the people who had good in their hearts strived to piece together this broken society. Their efforts carried on for several generations until 90% of the population had a supernatural ability called a quirk. The other 10% were either quirkless or had some other sort of ability.

Thanks to quirks being accepted universally, this eventually birthed a new era. An era of heroes, who prevent people from misusing their powers for crime, blasphemy, and violence. It was like something out of a comic book.

This is where are story starts, with a kid named Izuku Midoriya. He was quite plain-looking, and honestly, only his green hair and eyes made him stand out, but most importantly, he had a good heart in him.

From a young age, Izuku always wanted to be a hero. He was practically obsessed with them ever since he first saw them appear on his computer, especially All Might. He was sure he'd become a hero.

"Sorry kid, it's not happening." A man with goggles for glasses exclaimed.

"What do you mean?" Izuku's mother asks.

"Most kids develop a quirk at some point in their lives, mostly when they hit age three or four. But Izuku's hasn't manifested yet. I looked into it and it turns out he has a double-jointed pinkie toe, which is the first sign of him being quirkless. I even ran some DNA tests and there's no evidence of a quirk being present."

To say Izuku was shocked would be insulting him. He was flabbergasted and depressed at the news as much as his mother. Inko Midoriya found her son in the computer room replaying a famous video of All Might.

"Are you seeing this?! He's already saved a hundred people now! It's already been ten minutes, Wow!" The person filming the video stared in awe.

"Fear not! Because I am here!"

"A super cool hero like that. It's what I want to be." Izuku exclaims while unshed tears take place in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Izuku!" Inko bears hugs Izuku and profusely apologizes to him.

But he didn't give up hope here.

Izuku is trying to lift couches, breathe fire and none of his efforts are working. He always wanted to be a hero and yet he doesn't have a quirk? Granted there's no law dictating you need a quirk to be a hero, but realistically it's impossible. It just shows how unfair the world is.

His mother, Inko finishes preparing lunch and calls out to Izuku.

"Izuku, lunch is ready" Inko calls out.

"Yes," Izuku finishes trying to discover a hidden quirk and runs to the kotatsu.

While in the middle of chowing down his katsudon, Izuku asks his mother a question. "Mom, can I be a hero without a quirk?"

Inko is surprised at the question and considers it for a second. It's not impossible to get a license if your quirkless, but dealing with evildoers and villains without power is downright suicide. So she does the next best thing a parent can tell her child who believes he can accomplish a near-impossible task.

"Of course! You just have to work really hard and believe in what you can accomplish."

"Really? Like exercise?" Izuku replies in an excited squeaky voice.

"Yes, a lot of exercises and make sure you get good grades," Inko responds with motherly influence.

"I'll do it!"

Inko honestly would be overjoyed at his determination if what she said was the truth. Hopefully, he'll just give up and pursue a normal career once he realizes this is impossible.

Unfortunately, once Izuku hears something in a serious context he takes it 10x more seriously. Of course, he was really too young to do anything extraneous, or even light exercises at all. All his little body could do was gain nutrients and at least get a vast amount of daily playtime.

"If this is how I'll become a big and strong hero like All Might, I'll do it," Izuku says with clear determination in his voice.

Izuku didn't understand how muscle training worked, let alone understood how they got stronger, but he at least knew what he could and couldn't do in terms of physical performance. So he focused on the one thing he was good at his age. The next day when his mother agreed to take him to the park he started to run around the playground with supervision from his mother.

I didn't expect him to take me seriously. Honestly, I'd prefer him not to be so reckless but if he somehow achieves his dream of being a hero I will support him as his mother.

"Izuku honey are you okay? You look exhausted." Inko looked at him with a concerned motherly look.

"I'm okay mom! I just went plus ultra!" Izuku replied back with a sense of accomplishment.

"Oh really?! What'd you do?" Inko said, pretending to be shocked.

"I ran a little bit farther than I usually do," Izuku replied with a bit of cockiness.

"How great! Keep this up and you'll become big and strong like All Might." She encouraged him.

"Ok!" And Izuku scurried off leaving Inko to ponder.

"He's just like you Hisashi…" Inko said in a nostalgic tone.

It's just like any normal day where Izuku is headed to school. The only difference is his friend Katsuki Bakugou or as he likes to call him, 'Kacchan' is with him. Now Katsuki may or may not be extracurricular when it comes to heroes like Izuku. He always dreamed of becoming the Number One hero just like All Might so when he got his quirk, his ego started to inflate. This didn't stop him from being friends with Izuku though. But he's disapproving of his dream of being a hero due to it being reckless and suicidal.

"You're still going on about being a hero? Just give up, it's too dangerous." Katsuki started with a disapproving tone.

"Not if I exercise every day and stick to my routine!" Izuku refutes this.

"Sure? Tell me that when you eventually break a bone or sprain your ankle from working too hard."

"My exercises aren't that dangerous Kacchan. And that only happened one time!"

"Right, let's just get to class."

Now other than Katsuki or 'Kacchan' as Izuku calls him and his mother, no one really takes him being quirkless that well, much to the dismay of Izuku. They're always bullying him and treating him like a disease that's infectious. Of course, when that happens Katsuki threatens to either blow them up or tattle to the teacher. It's obvious which option he picks.

When they reached fourth grade, nowadays? They don't really pick on him thanks to him being physically stronger than most of the kids in his class at the age of nine. Although it's not enough to stop them from teasing him about his dream of being a hero. Deku is what they call him. Now of course Deku can mean other things like an abbreviation for Dekiru or Dekimasu but mostly it's used to call someone useless or a puppet.

"Look it's Deku. Why does he want to be a hero when it's useless?" A kid from another class states with venom.

"Screw off you damn extra!" Katsuki exclaimed, annoyed and ready to blow their heads off.

"W-Whatever." The kid exclaims and starts to head to his class.

Unfortunately for Izuku, this is what he goes through every single day of the week. With the whole class and sometimes school thinking he's useless. Only himself and Katsuki to defend him. It stayed like this every single year.

Entering middle school, Izuku at this point stopped doing his regular training regimen of either running or somersaults and finally got serious and began push-ups, situps, and a one-kilometer run. He was the most physically capable in his first year, even when factoring in Katsuki much to his dismay. He didn't have much of a six-pack or 'extreme biceps' as Katsuki considers, but you could tell he worked out under his gakuran.

After a long day of home-room and other classes, Izuku packs up and starts to head out the door. "Yo, Deku."

Now at this point without Katsuki around there was no one to protect him from either getting pummeled into the ground or verbally abused. That didn't stop Izuku from standing up for himself though "Is there something you need?" He asked in a nonchalant way.

Somehow the students were pissed off by his comment and approached him in a threatening manner and held up one of his hero notebooks. Izuku instantly narrowed his eyes and his facial expression changed to serious. "Why do you have that?!"

"You left it on your desk and we thought we'd take a look." He held the book up with minor annoyance. "What the hell is this shit about you being a hero? I thought we convinced you to stop that silly dream before you embarrass the whole school."

"Y-you don't have a right to question my dreams of being a hero. And if I recall searching a student's desk is against the rules. Especially reading their stuff." Izuku responds with a hint of fear. His classmate picks up on this and grows a devilish smile.

"Or what? Are you gonna punch me? If I recall your quirkless, you can't do shit unless we don't use our quirks." Izuku flinches at this comment which doesn't go unnoticed. Suddenly his classmate's fists start to glow a shade of orange as he prepares himself to punch Izuku. But before he could finish prepping his quirk Izuku grabs his arm and does a judo flip in self-defense.

"Agh!" The air suddenly left his classmate's lungs as the wind is knocked out of him. Once Izuku releases his arm he bolts out the door and heads straight out of the school leaving a confused Katsuki to deal with the approaching bullies.

Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, why did I do that?! Was it in self-defense? I'm sure I saw him try and use his quirk on me? Oh god, my notebook? I left it behind. Izuku continues mumbling until he enters a tunnel and stops running.

Luckily all that jogging and running I did has a benefit in these cases. Izuku sighs and starts to walk home hoping Katsuki would deal with the bullies and also retrieve his notebook. Izuku randomly recalls a memory of Katsuki finding out about his notebooks and taking an interest in them.

Suddenly Izuku hears a sewer lid pop off and turns around only to find a three-meter tall slime monster towering over him. "Oh good! I found a skin suit to hide in!" The slimy figure stated with bloodlust.

Izuku looks over the options of survival he has in his head and none of them are concrete enough to guarantee a victory. Suddenly the slime launches itself at him and tries to suffocate him, or was trying to suffocate him until he realized Izuku dodged his tentacles. "Hmm? I'll give it to you that you have nice reflexes but it won't make a difference!" Suddenly the slime starts to expand and catches Izuku off guard and surrounds him in a pool of thick, green, nasty, smelly, and sticky slime.

Izuku tries to break free but he can't. Even though he exercises nearly every day it doesn't give him superhuman strength. At best he's a cut above the rest in physical strength. Izuku can feel his own consciousness drift away from him at this point and starts contemplating that this is how his life ends. Well, at least I tried, I just hope Kacchan or my mother will be able to move past my death.

Suddenly, Izuku heard someone come out of the sewer lid, and right as he lost consciousness the figure delivered a powerful blow that carried wind pressure. "TEXAS SMASH!" The figure finishes launching his devastating blow at the slime and it starts to break apart and frees Izuku. "Capturing a middle schooler just to escape justice, how evil can you get?"

Izuku wakes up to a hand swatting his face gently. "Hey kid, wake up. You're not injured are you?"

The greenette groaned. "That is not how you make sure someone isn't injured."

The mysterious figure chuckles "My, my you're quite the sassy one aren't you?"

Izuku opens his eyes and looks at the figure. He does a doubletake to make sure he's not seeing things. "A-All Might?!"

"Yes, it is I, All Might!" Izuku is left speechless.

"Please sign it!" Izuku holds up his notebook and asks with desperation only to find a giant All Might symbol on the page.

"I will treat this as a family heirloom!" All Might laughed and says his goodbyes stating that he has hero work to do and jumps off creating a sonic boom in the process. Only to find Izuku latched onto his leg begging for him to land.

"Hey, hey, hey get off! What the heck kid, I love my fans but isn't this a little too much?"

"Sorry! I just have so many questions to ask you! Plus I can't get off or else I'll die!" Izuku responds. All Might sighs.

"Alright just hang on we'll land." All Might state with minor displeasure. Once they land Izuku steps onto the roof of the building they landed on and starts mumbling about how much he missed land.

"You know that was very reckless of you for what you just did, you could've accidentally slipped off and fallen to your death." All Might replies in a parental tone.

"I know, I'm sorry. I just have a few questions I'd like to ask." All Might perks up at this statement.Oh no, is he gonna start asking about what my quirk is? All Might be panicked.

"Can I be a hero without a quirk?" All Might has to do a double-take on what he just heard. A hero without a quirk? It's not something All Might usually thinks about on a daily basis, besides watching movies and doing hero work.

"A hero without a quirk?" Izuku responds with a nod.

"I can't say for sure. Hero work is already a dangerous career choice, but when someone is quirkless it just makes it near suicidal. I'm not saying you should give up on your dream but you should reconsider and think about-" All Might doesn't get the chance to finish his sentence as Izuku suddenly interrupts him.

"I know being a hero is already dangerous and not having a quirk makes that even worse but… I've been training ever since I knew I was quirkless in hopes of becoming a hero. I train every day to make up for the lack of a quirk. Does that give me a chance of becoming a hero?!" All Might starts to reconsider what he says as he's left in deep thought about what to say. He's just like me when Nana…

"What's your name kid?" All Might asks him with curiosity.

"Midoriya Izuku," Izuku responds in a nervous tone.

"You train every day? I must say that takes dedication. How do you train?" All Might asks in a curious tone.

"I wake up at 5 AM and start stretching and then head out for a 1 km run. From then on out I do 70 push-ups and then 60 situps. Why are you asking?" Izuku asks in a confused tone?

"Curiosity my boy. While I don't like the idea of someone becoming a hero without a quirk since it's dangerous, you have the drive, heart, and determination of one." Izuku stares at All Might wide-eyed and starts developing unshed tears.

"Young man, you can be a hero." Izuku lets a single tear slid down from his face and nods vigorously. To have your idol, your inspiration, someone you consider to be the strongest tell you you can accomplish something nearly impossible. It's a wonder All Might didn't see him shed more tears.

"Thank you All Might!" Izuku replies with a smile.

Izuku asks All Might to take him off the building and he agrees. "And young man." All Might adds with Izuku turning towards him with confusion. "With that smile of yours no doubt you'll be a hero with the ladies!" All Might finished with excessive chuckling and a crimson red Izuku.

"I-I, Uhh, t-thank you?" Izuku stutters shyly at the compliment. Suddenly, Izuku and All Might hear a massive explosion in the distance. They then rush to where they heard the explosions.

"Isn't that the slime that captured me?" Izuku wonders.

"Shit!" He must've slipped out while I was in the air! He curses. Izuku wonders who the slime went after this time and went a little bit closer with All Might. They get closer and closer until Izuku is able to recognize the figure.

"Kacchan…"

Meanwhile, the villain is busy contemplating his plans. "Your quirk is amazing! Don't worry, in a few seconds it'll all be over and you won't even feel pain. With a quirk like yours that idiot 'Symbol of Peace' won't stand a chance!"

The villain continues to laugh maniacally with pros and civilians watching from the distance. "Shit, we can't get close to him thanks to that kid's quirk." One of the pros called Death Arms swears.

Izuku looks into Katsuki's eyes. He sees anger. He sees anxiety. He sees doubt. But the most worrying thing he sees is fear. All Might attempts to leap at the villain using his superior strength and speed but doesn't get the chance to.

"Young… Midoriya?"

Izuku dashed off without reluctance, immediately looking for an opening at the villain while ignoring the pros pleading him to stay back. Why am I running? Why won't I stop? Katsuki, Kacchan, Bakugou! He needs help- Izuku doesn't get the chance to finish his thoughts as the slime aims a tentacle at him which he swiftly dodges. What do I do? RIght, distract and immobilize him first. Izuku aims his backpack at him and it's contents hit him in the eye.

"Ahhhh! What the hell?! Damn brat!" The slime comments with an annoyed and pained tone.

This leaves Katsuki a chance to breathe for a moment. "Izuku! What the hell are you doing?" Katsuki states with a mix of confusion and worry.

"You looked like you needed help!" Izuku responds but it's much more than that. His eyes, they looked so… terrified, like he was asking for help. He needs help. Help him Izuku Midoriya!

Izuku is desperately clawing at the slime to free Katsuki and he grabs his hand and attempts to pull him out until the slime recovers and threatens to recapture Katsuki and kill Izuku. "Damn brat, you nearly ruined my chances of escaping and defending off against that pest of a hero. I'll kill you for this!" The slime commentates with venom present in his voice.

Izuku prepares himself for the worst but hears a Sonic Boom and it never comes. "A-all Might?!" Izuku asks in shock.

"Sorry about letting you go through that, kids, it's alright now, why? Because I'm Am Here! DETROIT-"

"Not this again! Get out of my way-" The slime launches a tentacle at him but it never even hits as he's met with a fist to the face.

"SMAAAASH!" The blow All Might carried megatons of force and created wind pressure so great it blew everyone back a few feet. Once everything settled down people looked awestruck.

"Holy crap! He changed the weather!" One civilian realizes. Another one adds

"Oh my god, it's really All Might." Then the press comes in and surrounds All Might asking him various amounts of questions on how he changes the weather and if his quirk is really just super strength.

Katsuki was busy getting checked out medically and being praised by the pros. Unfortunately, Midoriya wasn't so lucky.

"What the hell were you thinking back there? You could've gotten yourself killed!" One of them furiously adds, but before any of them could finish their sentences the press swarms Katsuki and Izuku. They asked Katsuki what he felt like and if he was scared or not which he replied with a 'Hmph'. They turn their attention to Izuku.

"Young man, what made you go into this villain attack despite the pros and All Might being nearby?" One of the reporters asks rhetorically.

Izuku takes a second to come up with a conclusion and responds with "Honestly I'd say it was about him needing help but that was only part of the reason." Izuku pauses, then elaborates. "His eyes… you could tell he was in pain and terrified. I didn't even realize I was running towards him until I felt the heat." Izuku finishes his explanation.

"Do you realize what you've done could be counted as vigilantism?" One of the other reporter's comments

"What?! No, I thought it counted as self-defense for my friend. Honestly, I did everything out of impulse." There was a pause across the whole city block and Japan until the whole crowd erupted into compliments.

"You did everything out of impulse? You're hero material if I've ever seen it, kid." A man adds. Soon the whole city block crowded him and complimented them on their bravery.

The pros, upon hearing this, suddenly felt guilty for criticizing Izuku so much. They started complimenting him for the guts and mindset he has. "Honestly this kid is real hero material. He didn't think of the fame he'd get by saving the kid. He acted because he saw him in pain and terrified and out of impulse. I wonder what his quirk is." One of the pros who arrived commented.

Izuku starts sweating thinking all of Japan will hate him for being quirkless until a pro who recently made her debut titled Mt. Lady commented "You're not a half-bad kid, and you're kind of cute." This comment made Izuku blush a mad crimson.

Eventually, the comments and compliments got out of hand and Izuku attempted to leave but was being swarmed heavily until All Might offered to answer anything else they'd have in store for him. All Might gives Izuku a silent thumbs up and Izuku nods with a silent 'Thank you'.

Izuku and Katsuki are on their way home and they started to talk about the experience with the villain attack. "So, how did the villain capture you?" Izuku asks.

"He sneaked up on me and caught me off guard. Pussy-move wasn't it?"

Katsuki keeps on gloating about how he could've taken out the villain if it didn't pull a sneak attack on him. Then Izuku asks about his notebook and those bullies.

"You mean those extras? Once I went to check out the situation I saw them trying to go after you but then I threatened to explode their faces off and they backed down like a couple of pussies. Here's your notebook." Katsuki adds somehow with pride and a sense of accomplishment which leaves Izuku concerned for the safety of his classmates.

They say their goodbyes and head in different directions. Izuku starts thinking about what All Might said earlier. 'Young man. You can be a hero.' Izuku replays the comment in his mind.

Until he reaches his house and opens the door only to find his mother sitting on the couch with a box of tissues. "Izuku!" She cries out to him and Izuku braces himself for a bear hug. "I was so worried until All Might came to save you. What you did was reckless and stupid." Izuku winces at the scolding. "But also very brave. I heard what you said on the news and I couldn't help but be proud of you." Inko starts to cry again.

"Mom, anymore crying and you're gonna flood the whole apartment," Izuku states half-serious. Eventually, Inko calmed down and Izuku went to take a shower only to come downstairs to find All Might having a conversation with his mother, his mother ready to pass out.

Izuku stared wide-eyed at what was happening but then calmed down and pretended All Might wasn't in his house. "Young Midoriya. It's nice to see you again. I've been looking for you but the swarms of reporters kept me busy. They sure had a lot of questions." All Might chuckled at the end.

"Yeah, they did." Izuku chuckled nervously.

"So." Izuku pauses. "Why is the Number 1 hero in our house?" Izuku asks, a hint of confusion in his voice.

"Because of Young Midoriya. After I heard you answer the reporter's questions I was impressed by your bravery. You have the potential to become a true hero young man." This made Inko stop drinking the tea she prepared and spit it out. Never in her life did she expect the Symbol of Peace to tell her son he could be a hero.

"Sorry." Inko apologized.

"It's quite alright ma'am, but I wasn't finished." All Might paused. "Young Midoriya, what hero school do you plan on going to?"

"U.A High School, and why?" Izuku asks curiously as to why the literal Symbol of Peace is curious about where he wants to train to become a hero.

"Good, because I'm training you to get in!" Silence filled the room until Izuku decided to speak up.

"I must be hallucinating from all the action from today, repeat that again?" Izuku asked, trying to make sure he wasn't mistaking what he just heard.

"Let me rephrase that. Will you let me train you?" Izuku nearly fainted and had to do a double-take.

"Train me?" Izuku asks desperately trying to process what the hell he just heard.

"Yes Young Midoriya, train you. I thought about you being quirkless. Despite your athletic ability you probably still wouldn't make it. So I thought about training you."

Izuku took a few seconds to accept the fact Number 1 Hero, no. The Symbol of Peace offered to train him.

"I accept!" It was at this moment that Inko Midoriya couldn't take it anymore and faints. "Mom?!" Izuku comments in a worried tone.

"Is she going to be alright?" All Might asks concerningly.

"I-I think so? She faints whenever something too surprising happens. Guess I-I'm to blame for that." Izuku states with a nervous smile. "So when do we start training All Might?"

"We'll start at 10 AM tomorrow, at Dagobah Beach. I'm heading out now so tell your mother I said bye. Goodbye Young Midoriya."

"Bye All Might." Izuku almost can't believe it, he's going to get trained by All Might himself to try to make it into U.A. Sure it's not like he'll give him a quirk which would make it easier to train, but it's All Might in flesh training him.

"Izuku." Izuku turns his head to find his mother.

"Yes, mom?"

"Did All Might come and visit us saying he'll 'train' you?" Inko states with a hint of worry in her voice.

"If I say yes will you promise me you won't faint again?" Izuku pauses and Inko nods. "Ok, yes, yes he did." Izuku braced himself for his mother fainting again but instead was met with a motherly smile.

"Izuku." She pauses and then continues "I'm so glad you have a chance of fulfilling your dream." Izuku is wondering what she means. She was the one who supported and told him he could be a hero.

"I really didn't think you could be a hero without a quirk. I didn't want you to be upset so I lied about you being able to become a hero with my advice. But when you took my advice seriously I didn't know what to do, so I decided it was best to let you continue your dream. Eventually, you'd think realistically and realize the path you're headed is downright dangerous and reckless."

Inko pauses for a moment to let Izuku understand what she just told him. Izuku nods for her to continue. "But when I saw you on the news I thought you could actually live to be a hero somehow and when All Might came…" Inko pauses. And prepared herself for what she was about to say next. "I believe you can be the Number One Hero."

Everything came back to Izuku in a flash. How he was told he was quirkless, how his mother told him he could be a hero, how he was bullied by his classmates and possibly the whole school. Everything just everything came back to him in seconds. Then he just broke down into tears and hugged his mother until they were both done emptying their tear glands. Then Izuku said something that surprised Inko.

"I'm not mad at you mom. Honestly, my goal is still reckless and dangerous and you have every right to be worried, it's what a mother does. It proves you did your job right." Izuku then gave her a comforting smile. And said "Good night mom."

Inko replied with a smile. "Good night Izuku."

Author's Notes: And that concludes chapter 1 of My Hero! I hoped everyone who read this enjoyed it. Seriously I spent like two days figuring out how to write this. Originally I thought about this being a Document explaining how an open world My Hero Academia game would be and I couldn't decide a name for it. So I thought about how I needed to improve my writing skills before writing that and what better way to do that than write fanfiction? As you can tell my whole motto for this was FUCK IT, and just go with the flow. Anyways please give your critiques on this in the comment section below. If you enjoyed this story, favorite it, and if you want to see more chapters follow it!.

Thank you for reading!
