Kala stood on the opposite side of Khoran with his arms crossed until a large ship made of iron and metal raced toward the ferryman's fleet.
"Battleships! My ferries cannot fight a war," Khoran spoke looking at Raiden.
"This fleet is under our protection. If Khoran falls, our fleet cannot sail. Protect him at all costs," Raiden spoke looking forward.
"Barako, Shiv, Raka, and Rava. You four will be in charge of guarding Khoran. Let no harm come to him," Kala commanded while walking down from the steering wheel looking up at the battleship that skitted against Khoran's ferries.
Mileena and Sheeva braced themselves while the others nearly lost their balance before the ferries were far enough away from Kronika's ships to not be damaged anymore. Kala looked up seeing cyborgs jump from the battleships onto the ferries alerting Raiden's allies while Sheeva narrowed her eyes while fighting her fair share alongside Mileena. Barako, with the help of his mate, fought as one easily dispatching any who would try to harm Khoran along with the Tarkatan twins.
Kala watched as the cyborgs continued before materializing his spears, one in each hand, before throwing them at his enemies piercing them into the battleship. It did not take long before there were too many cyber Lin Kuei for even the immortal to spear out of the sky forcing Kala to start tearing them apart with his own hands. One unfortunate cyborg was grabbed by Kala before being crushed in his grasp. The battle continued before a new face appeared in front of Kala which caught his attention.
"Geras. Be careful, he is an immortal warrior to Kronika," Raiden warned earning a nod from Kala.
"Then we shall see who is better," Kala spoke while facing Geras while rolling his shoulders back.
"I have died over a thousand times. My defeat is impossible. Yours. Inevitable," Geras spoke which Muli shook his head.
"None of your battles involved a warrior like me," Kala replied before Geras swayed his hands upward causing sand to appear under the Kahn's feet.
Kala looked at the ground before being pulled down into its unknown depths giving Geras time to teleport behind his opponent and slam his right fist down on the Kahn staggering him. Geras scuffed at this before pulling Kala out of the quicksand to toss him into the air and time his punch before driving it forward piercing through the Kahn's gut. The immortal Kahn grunted at this before Geras followed up by pausing Kala's movements allowing him to pull his fist out and uppercut his opponent. Although Geras did a full uppercut, Kala remained frozen until a second passed causing the Kahn to fly into the air again.
As Kala descended toward the ground, his eyes locked onto Geras and narrowed them in annoyance while gathering white energy. Once Kala was in front of Geras, the immortal Kahn watched as Kronika's servant brought his fist forward in an attempt to knock him backward. Instead of hitting his opponent, Geras watched as Kala brought out his spear to block the punch sending him flying backward but with a plan set. With Kala flying backward, he pierced the ground and used Geras' force to launch himself back to the artificer.
Geras only narrowed his eyes while bringing up a sand clone of himself in front of Kala to take the hit. The moment Kala made contact with the sand clone, Geras instantly swapped places with it to take hold of the Kahn. Kala's eyes grew wide as Geras slammed the Kahn into the ground followed up by freezing him in place with the outworld immortals spear fading away. This allowed Geras to get up only to watch as Kala's form began to glow a bright white forcing the artificial to try and step on the Kahn. Before the artificer's feet touched Kala's body, the energy gathered by the Kahn burst outward knocking Geras onto his rear.
"Your ability to freeze your opponent in time," Kala spoke pushing himself off the ground while bringing out his war club and glaring at Geras as he got back up as well. "It annoys me..."
"It is a gift from Kronika herself," Geras spoke while marching toward Kala.
"A gift...that will no longer work on me," Kala responded walking toward Geras.
The two charged at one another again before Kala threw his left war club at Geras watching as the artificer raised his right hand to slap it out of the way. During the blindspot his opponent made, Kala charged forward knocking Geras back and followed by materializing his spear to impale the artificer in the chest just to slam him to the ground. Geras grunted at this seeing he was now pinned into the bridge of the boat while Kala narrowed his eyes seeing his opponent try to pull himself off the spear.
"You are truly a warrior Geras...what a waste," Kala spoke looking to Raiden who walked over keeping his focus on Geras.
"I shall throw him into the sea of blood," Raiden spoke looking at a pile of chains upon Khoran's ship before firing a stream of lightning and flinging it onto Geras.
Geras growled at this as he was wrapped in heavy chains in which the artificer turned his attention to Raiden now.
"Drowning me will not be the end of me Raiden. I cannot die," Geras spoke eyeing the thunder god who only sighed.
"That is unfortunate for you Geras...because the sea of blood is bottomless. You will fall forever," Raiden replied before firing another stream of lightning at the anchor of the ship causing it to fall into the sea and eventually dragging Geras off the craft as he began to descend into the ocean.
With Geras out of the way, it did not take long before Frost landed on the ship with Raiden challenging her this time allowing Kala to deal with any Cyber Lin Kuei. Fighting the cyborgs was much easier to deal with than Geras but the overwhelming numbers began to worry the immortal Kahn until finally, they began to spaz out and eventually fall to the ground powered down. Kala looked over to Raiden seeing that he defeated his opponent and nodded his head impressed while making his way to his two wives seeing Mileena pull her sai out of a cyborg scuffing.
"One on one they were no challenge...but their numbers proved to be problematic," Sheeva commented while turning to see her husband and smiled.
"What are your thoughts Mileena?" Kala asked looking at his first wife as she sheathed her sai sighing.
"Just as Sheeva said. Alone they were easy to take down but in a large group it proved to be bothersome," Mileena commented earning a nod from her husband.
"Then let us check on the others," Kala said walking past his wives who followed behind their husband.
As they got to the helm of the ferry, Kala's eyes narrowed seeing not one but two Tarkatans on the ground dead. Kala walked closer to find it was Rava and Raka laying on the ground lifeless with Barako and Shiv kneeling before them.
"They were overwhelmed," Barako answered before getting to his feet. "...but they fought well,"
"I do not doubt that," Kala said looking to Barako as Shiv got to her feet now.
"Expect more deaths after this final war Barako," Kala warned while looking to Khoran who focused on steering the ferry.
As time went on, it did not take long before Khoran narrowed his eyes and saw land fast approaching.
"Land ho!" Khoran shouted with Raiden seeing a single boat make its way toward their direction.
As soon as the small rowboat was close enough to the ferry, the revenant of Lui Kang flew out and landed on the main deck looking around. Raiden narrowed his eyes at this before crossing his arms and jumping from the deck to land in front of Lui Kang slowly unfolding his arms. The thunder gods' allies as well as Kala himself took a step forward only to be stopped as Raiden glanced over his shoulder to stop everyone. Kala saw the determination of Raiden and nodded his head before raising his right hand to stop his wives and officers.
"Time after time, Kronika's schemes have pitted us against each other. That cycle must end, Liu Kang," Raiden spoke.
"This time, it will!" Lui Kang shouted before launching himself forward with a burning flying kick pushing Raiden backward between his allies who moved out of the way.
"Your power! Is this Kronika's gift?" Raiden asked with narrowed eyes.
"A gift to myself, you could say," Revenant Lui Kang said with a smirk.
"You stole your own soul. Perverted your own nature!" Raiden shouted no glaring at the revenant.
"It's a lesson you taught me, Raiden. To fight my enemies by any means necessary," Lui Kang responded while getting into his fighting stance along with the thunder god.
Kala watched carefully as Raiden and Liu Kang fought one another while the thunder gods' allies waited patiently to help their companion if needed. The fight was as intense as expected with Raiden defeating Liu Kang's revenant with some slight difficulty. With revenant Liu Kang defeated, Raiden chose to fuse with the revenant rather than kill it creating a new God. Mileena and Sheeva looked at this all along with Barako as well as his mate before they turn their attention to their Kahn.
While Fire God Liu Kang spoke with his comrades, Kala made his way to his officers seeing them whisper to one another. As soon as Kala was within hearing distance, he heard their conversation about him fusing with their ally Titan.
"If that is how powerful a mortal can be after they fuse with a god...imagine how powerful you will be if Necros merged with you, my love," Mileena spoke looking at her husband with a wide smile.
"I do not want to imagine such a thing happening," Kala replied with a sad tone.
"Why not?" Mileena asked confused.
"Because from what I can hear from the two I would no longer be just myself," Kala answered.
"Is that not what you were prior? How is this any different?" Sheeva asked placing her hands on her hips.
"He was sleeping most of my life. And due to his actions and personality...I am sure he would not want such a thing either," Kala said looking at Sheeva.
Kala's wives fell silent at these facts while Fire God Lui Kang finished talking to his allies as they were approaching the shores. Eventually, the ships of the alliance beached themselves on the shores of Kronika's coast causing bridges to extend from the front of the vessels. This allowed the Earth Realm warriors and soldiers to make their way to fight against the Nether Realm forces yet Outworld waited.
"They await your command, my love," Mileena said gaining a nod from her husband.
Kala nodded before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath while leaning his head back. After a second of silence, Kala's eyes shot open as he released a booming war cry that filled the air. The moment Kala ran out of breath his call was answered by another war cry but made by the warriors of Outworld. As the war cry sounded Kala jumped out of the ship while being followed by his wives and two officers and later his warriors from Outworld.
While the armies of Earth Realm and Outworld fought against the forces of Nether Realm, Kala could not help but notice that not a single soldier of Onaga was present. This caused Kala to become wary before continuing to push through the Nether Realm forces while his eyes looked to the sides of the field. His eyes caught sight of not only Tanya teleporting now and again but also both Skarlet's moving through the battleground as puddles of blood. Looking behind him at the boats, he saw his mother waiting by the boats with his two officers as well as her bodyguard protecting her if need be.
A grin grew over Kala's lips as their combined forces started to overwhelm the Nether Realm's troops. That was until the ground around the beach began to shift and shutter revealing Onaga's armies rise and began to surround the allied forces. This tactic caught the Earth Realmers as well as the Outworlders off guard from the sides causing a good number of them to be killed almost instantly. Kala gritted his teeth at this before he continued through the Nether Realm troops before making it over to the gates of Kronika's keep.
As soon as Kala reached the gate, he turned to find himself surrounded by Onaga's forces as well as Nether Realm before the Kahn grinned widely. Necros smirked at this and opened four separate portals over the markers set prior allowing the Xenomorph hive to enter through each. This tactic outflanked Onaga's forces instantly surrounding them and tearing the forces apart due to the unexpected support. With the assistance of the Xenomorphs, the Nether Realm forces were being dispatched with haste while Onag's troops proved challenging but were being eliminated slowly.
With the enemy forces being gathered in the center, Fire God Lui Kang appeared in the sky engulfed in blazing energy as well as lightning before his eyes looked down at the remaining enemy troops. A smirk grew over Lui Kang's lips before he flew toward the remaining enemy forces wiping them out while leaving his allies completely unharmed. Once Lui Kang came out of the small crate he made, the god levitated over to the gates with his allies close behind him.
"Stand back," Lui Kang warned causing his allies to give the fire god space as he brought his right fist back while gathering fire into his hand.
After a few seconds of pause, Lui Kang would thrust his fist forward destroying the gate as well as a good amount of enemy forces waiting on the other side of the entrance. With the gate opened, Lui Kag and his friends raced through with Kala looking up at the sky feeling something was off. Mileena and Sheeva caught up with their husband and saw the caution in his eyes like before Onaga came to be in this time. Kala knew Onaga was around but seeing he was not present at the time, he pushed the thought aside as he continued with Lui Kang and his closest friend as well as Kitana.
As they reached the keep, Kala stopped at the entrance while turning to look upon his wives as well as his mother.
"You three remain here and stop any enemy reinforcements from entering the structure. Lui Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana, and I will deal with Kronika and her allies," Kala said looking at his wives who nodded their heads in agreement while his mother stood there motionless.
"You be careful...my son. Return home when this is all over," Kamea spoke earning a nod from Kala before turning and following after Lui Kang as his allies.
As they reached the main door to Kronika's hourglass, Lui Kang came to a stop and turned to face his friends as well as Kala.
"Whatever happens, I am honored to fight at your side," Lui Kang spoke before looking to Kala. "And thank you for helping us in this time of need Kala,"
"It is an honor to fight by your side...all of you," Kala spoke looking to Kung Lao and Kitana.
"Likewise," Kitana spoke glancing at Kala and then at Lui Kang while placing her hand upon his shoulder with Kung Lao doing the same on his opposite side.
"Me too brother," Kung Lao spoke while glancing over to Kala and nodding his head.
"May the elder gods protect us," Lui Kang spoke before bringing his right hand forward engulfing it in flames before turning to drive his fist through the door and beginning to melt its surroundings granting entry to the four.
With the way made, the four walked through the melted door to stand before Kronika as well as the revenant counterparts of Kitana, Kung Lao, and Jade along with Onaga waiting patiently. Behind Onaga laid Shao Kahn with his arms and legs torn off yet still breathed while the dragon king smirked at this although he had his arms crossed. Kronika turned her gaze to Lui Kang and his allies before they shifted over to Kala making her glare at the immortal.
"Liu Kang, God of Thunder and Fire. Kala, Immortal Kahn of Outworld. Combining with Raiden has the benefit of novelty," Kronika spoke before looking over to Onaga and then back to Lui Kang. "FINISH THEM!"
The three revenants raced forward with Onaga looking at Shao Kahn and swaying his hand causing the once-powerful Kahn of Outworld to rise with his limbs regenerating. Once Shao Kahn's limbs were finished growing back, he charged toward Kala while Onaga flew at Lui Kang and threw him into the wall before releasing a booming roar. Kala narrowed his eyes at Shao Kahn who materialized his sledgehammer only to swing it toward the immortal. As the sledgehammer hammer was near Kala, the immortal ducked under the swing before bringing out his spear and thrusting it into Shao Kahn's head.
"Stupid," Kala spoke pulling his spear out of Shao Kahn's head and watching his opponent fall to the ground.
Seeing Shao Kahn on the ground, Kala narrowed his eyes in suspension before piercing Shao Kahn through the heart and pinning him to the floor. Once Kala made sure his spear was stuck in the ground, he turned his attention to Onaga seeing Lui Kang beginning to push him back slowly. The sound of groaning caught Kala's attention as he turned back to Shao Kahn seeing him grip the spear and try to pull it out in which the immortal sighed while bringing out two more spears, one in each hand. As soon as Kala was over Shao Kahn, he would thrust his spear into the former Kahn's head again making his body go limp. Kala took this time to kick Shao Kahn's hands away before piercing his spears through both of them so he could not move.
With Shao Kahn dealt with, he turned his attention to Kitana and Kung Lao seeing the former princess of Outworld was being overwhelmed since she was not just fighting her revenant counterpart but also Jade's. Seeing this, Kala gripped his hands into fists before racing toward the revenant Jade. Jade's revenant turned toward Kala and quickly jumped out of the way allowing Kitana to start pushing back against her counterpart. While the two Kitana's fought one another, Jade glared at Kala while twirling her bo staff between her fingertips.
The two glared at one another before Jade jumped at Kala while swinging her bo staff at the immortal's neck. Seeing Jade aim for his neck, Kala brought his left hand up to grab the bo staff followed by pulling it close to take hold of the Revenant's neck and breaking it. Dropping the dead revenant, Kala took hold of the bo staff and aimed it at the Kitana's opponent slowly lining his target. Once he lined his target, Kala threw the bo staff and watched as it pierced the revenant Kitana through her body killing her almost instantly. Kitana looked over at Kala and nodded her head in thanks before she made her way over to Kung Lao to quickly dispatch the Revenant allowing Kala to make his way over to Kronika.
Onaga crashed to the ground in front of Kala causing the immortal to look up at Lui Kang who slowly flew down beside the current Kahn.
"Surrender Kronika. You cannot win," Lui Kang offered while glaring at the Titan.
Kronika glared at Lui Kang and his friends before turning her full attention over to Kala.
"This should not be possible!" Kronika shouted.
As she shouted, Kronika released a burst of sand that knocked back Kala as well as Lui Kang's friends before Kitana, and Kung Lao froze in mid-air leaving the fire god and the current Kahn of Outworld the only ones left. Onaga got back to his feet with Cetrion and Kronika putting their focus on Lui Kang making Kala narrow his eyes at the dragon king until a portal opened over the current Kahn allowing Necros to fly out with his hands behind his back. The friendly Titan turned his head to Lui Kang's allies seeing they were frozen in time before turning his attention back to Kronika sighing heavily.
"Three on three...very well. Shall we...sister?" Necros asked bringing his hands forward and firing a beam of souls at Kronika causing the keeper of time to respond by firing a stream of sand.
Their attacks clashed with one another, Lui Kang began to fight against Cetrion while Kala charged at Onaga. Lui Kang flew forward and tackled Cetrion to another side of the area while Onaga took hold of Kala's head to throw him to the opposite side. Kala got to his feet and glared at the dragon king who landed in front of the immortal rolling his shoulders back with his hands gripped into fists.
"You are strong...immortal...but not enough to defeat me," Onaga announced which Kala shook his head.
"I am more than strong enough to defeat you, Onaga," Kala replied while gathering white energy and rushed toward the dragon king.
Onaga scuffed at this before flying toward Kala in an attempt to grab hold of the immortal only this time he was knocked back by the shoulder tackle of the current Kahn. As Onaga flew back, Kala materialized his spear and threw it at the dragon king's right wing. Kala watched as his spear pierced through the dragon king's right-wing making it near impossible to fly as the hole grew slightly bigger. The dragon king glanced at his right wing and gritted his teeth before putting his focus back on Kala seeing him charge forward once more.
Onaga responded by bringing his right wing forward to act as a covering while he did a quick tail sweep which caught Kala off guard knocking him on his rear. With Kala on the ground, Onaga quickly jumped up and brought his right foot down upon the immortal's chest before breathing a stream of fire down on his opponent. Kala grunted in pain as he was being burned by Onaga's fire but quickly brought out another spear to thrust forward racing toward the dragon king's chest. The spear hit Onaga's chest but it failed to pierce through his skin but pushed him back enough for Kala to get to his feet while preparing his weapon.
The dragon king merely scuffed at Kala's spear while dusting his chest off unharmed by the immortal's weapon. Onaga's eyes were more than enough for Kala to know he was being looked down on. Kala quickly threw his spear at Onaga's face watching as his opponent slapped the weapon out of the way allowing the immortal to be right in front of the dragon king and drive his right fist into his gut. This caused Onaga's eyes to go wide as the air was knocked out of him for a split second while also crushing Kala's hand. In that brief second, Kala followed up by forcing his opposite hand into Onaga's mouth and materializing his spear watching as it pierced through the dragon king's head and body.
Kala pulled his hand out of Onaga's dead body and turned to Lui Kang watching as he slammed Cetrion to the ground followed by cutting her head off. The Kahn nodded his head at this before turning his attention over to Necros seeing the Devourer of souls pinning Kronika to the floor before finally grabbing her head and slamming it into the floor. A sigh of relief escaped Necros's lips before he stood up and looked at his comrades smiling softly while his eyes wandered to the defeated god and dragon king.
"It is done," Lui Kang spoke walking over to Necros along with Kala.
"Almost," Necros spoke sighing heavily while swaying his right hand around his form collecting the souls of Cetrion, Onaga, Kronika, and all the revenants into his palm.
Now holding the souls of his enemies, Necros smiled and devoured them in mere seconds before closing his eyes sighing softly. The battle was now over, they had won against not only Kronika but Onaga and the two main leaders of Nether Realms force. Lui Kang looked to his comrades watching as they were now able to move on their own while Kala walked over to the hourglass with narrowed eyes.
"What now?" Kitana asked blinking her eyes.
"Fix what has been broken," Necros spoke before letting out a soft yawn. "And I have been awake for far too long..."
"What will you do now that Kronika is gone? You...are the strongest being...and can do anything you wish," Fire God Lui Kang spoke in which he slowly gripped his hands into fists along with his friends getting ready for another fight.
Necros looked at this and chuckled lightly while shaking his head with his hands placed behind his back.
"You are right Lui Kang...I am powerful," Necros spoke slowly raising his left hand causing the room to be filled with souls of the departed including Kronika, Onaga, and even Shao Kahn before he brought his left hand back behind his back dismissing the many spirits. "But I think I am going to dismiss myself once more and fall into a deep slumber,"
"Just like that?" Kitana questioned with narrowed eyes.
"I wanted nothing in this war but peace and tranquility. Kronika threatened that by restarting time. Without Shinnok around, I do not have the necessary souls to keep me awake. Unless I go out to every realm and devour their souls...and even then...it is only a temporary thing. The fall of Cetrion gave rise to that. So yeah...just like that," Necross admitted with a shrug while turning to look at Kala smiling softly. "Plus...there is always someone or something more powerful than myself...I just have not run into them yet...and I hope I never do."
Lui Kang turned to the hourglass and was to make his way toward it but was stopped after hearing Necros clear his throat.
"As for fixing time...you will need Kronika's crown," Necros commented while Lui Kang faced the titan.
"...but it is half of your heart is it not?" Lui Kang asked blinking his eyes while Necros nodded his head in agreement.
Necros raised his right hand before plunging it into his own chest grunting softly. Lui Kang's eyes grew wide at this while Kala closed his knowing full well what was going on. With a slight pause, Necros pulled his heart out and quickly tore it in half revealing the crown and amulet. Without his heart, Necros began to turn pitch black once more and fade while he handed the crown to Lui Kang. Fire God Lui Kang took the crown and placed it upon his head while the amulet flew over to Kala. Seeing the amulet, Kala took hold of it and held it in his left hand in deep thought.
"I will rest...as I should have. As all Titans should have...although if a time comes you need my help...you know what to do..." Necros spoke as he faded away with a soft chuckle while his eyes began to slowly close and vanish like eons ago.
"...I would like to ask a favor Lui Kang," Kala asked gaining the fire gods attention as well as his friends.
"Ask friend," Lui Kang said with a smile. "Without your help...none of this would be possible,"
"The events of Mortal Kombat. I would ask that you change it only a little," Kala requested bowing his head causing Lui Kang to turn to Kitana who nodded her head.
"I will be sure to do so Kala...but may I ask why?" Lui Kang asked tilting his head while Kala placed the amulet on his forehead with closed eyes causing it to phase into his mind.
"If the timeline is reset and changed drastically...there is a chance my wife Mileena...would not have been born," Kala said closing his eyes. "But I promise when the time comes...the invasion will be prevented from both Outworld and Nether Realm."
"Very well. I will do as you ask Kala," Lui Kang said with a smile.
"How will you remember this?" Kitana asked tilting her head.
"...I do not know," Kala said as Lui Kang nodded his head before bringing his focus to the hourglass and swaying his hands to it while he placed Kronika's crown upon his head.
-Reset: Outworld- Shao Kahn's rule-
Kala stood in his destroyed village while kneeling on the ground and his eyes facing a gravestone of his first wife. The immortal stood up and looked into the sky in deep thought before his memories before the timeshift returned to Kala. A smile grew over his lips before he closed his eyes and slowly raised his hands over his head. As his hands began to rise, the ground was beginning to emit white energy as the souls of his warriors began to make themselves known. The numbers of warriors were not just those who fell in his time of ruling but also those before his authority. Behind Kala stood hundreds of warriors prepared for battle in which the immortal wore a wide grin but it soon faded before he swayed his hands down dismissing the many warriors he had on hand.
"Not yet," Kala spoke turning his gaze to the direction of where the ruins were. "In time."
Kala made his way to the ruins and fought against the xenomorphs but this time as a means to knock them out rather than kill them. Once Kala reached the bottom of the Ruins, he reunited with his mother and helped her grow her hive. With the help of his mother Kamea, a recon xenomorph was sent to keep tabs on the events unfolding at Shao Kahn's palace as well as the tournament. The events remained almost the time but this time with Lui Kang taking the place of Raiden who watched with narrowed eyes.
Later Jade would have defeated Sheeva and attempted to release Kitana but was stopped. Kala chose now to intervene as he appeared before Sheeva and just stared. Jade's eyes grew wide and got into a fighting stance while Mileena and Tarkatan's came from behind.
"Who is this?" Jade questioned glaring at Kala.
"A friend," Kala spoke turning to face Mileena. "Now take Kitana and leave...when you meet Lord Lui Kang. Tell him I will keep my promise,"
Jade nodded her head and broke Kitana from her binds and fled the tower leaving Kala to deal with Mileena and the guards. The Outworld princess chuckled at this while narrowing her eyes at Kala while hopping forward. Behind her followed the five Tarkatanm warriors which the immortal ignored. Kala took one step forward while he eased his hands and smiled softly at the princess making her tilt her head.
"Surrender Mileena. You cannot defeat me," Kala warned earning a soft laugh from the princess.
"Why should I surrender when you are the one outnumbered?" Mileena stated.
"From what you can see," Kala corrected while looking up causing Mileena to follow his gaze chuckling.
Her eyes widened and her mouth gasped in surprise as the ceilings were covered in xenomorphs. Kala looked down at Mileena and swayed his hand causing his family to descend to the Tarkatan warriors knocking them out and taking them to the hive along with Mileena. The immortal scanned his surroundings while swaying his hand again causing the remaining xenomorphs to retreat from the palace and return to the hive while collecting any unaware warriors to further increase their numbers.
-Ruins-
Mileena and Sheeva were placed in Kala's resting place within the hive with four soul warriors stationed around them to act as guards. As the women slept, Kala sat between the two with his hands placed upon their foreheads in deep meditation. Kala was using the power of Shinnok's amulet for them to remember their lives before the reset. Once he finished his task, all he could do now was wait for his wives to wake while he placed his hands on his lap to see if it worked or not.
Hours passed before Mileena and Sheeva woke from their slumber at the same time to turn and see Kala still sitting between the two with his eyes closed meditating still. Kala awakened from his meditation to see both of the women were now awake yet remained silent to see if anything changed. A second later, Mileena got up and wrapped her arms around Kala with Sheeva joining in a moment after earning a smile from Kala.
"Husband!" Mileena shouted as Kala wrapped his arms around both of his wives.
"It worked," Kala whispered to himself before releasing his wives while Sheeva scanned her surroundings.
"Why are we in the Ruins...and not at the village?" Sheeva asked looking at Kala.
"Time has been reset. As such the village does not exist," Kala answered while looking at Sheeva. "Right now, Shao Kahn lives and rules Outworld...for now,"
"What do you mean for now?" Mileena asked blinking her eyes.
"I should have done this long ago but was too afraid. I am taking the throne of Outworld," Kala said with a grin while getting to his feet along with his wives. "But first there are a few things that must be done,"
"And what would that be my son?" Kamea asked walking in with her hands by her side.
"We are going to attack Shao Kahn's fortress...and wipe out his army before he has the chance to use them," Kala answered turning to face his mother. "Knock out his officers...I wish to give them a chance to join me,"
"And the others?" Kamea asked tilting her head slightly.
"...do with them as you please," Kala answered turning his gaze back to Mileena and Sheeva.
-Tournament-
Kung Lao had defeated Shang Tsung and Quin Chi and was currently in the middle of fighting Kintaro. Moments later, Kintaro was knocked to the ground and was about to be knocked out but stopped as Kala landed on the arena shaking the arena. The emperor of Outworld glared at Kala before Mileena landed behind the immortal along with Sheeva. This caused Shao Kahn to get to his feet and point at Mileena enraged and confused.
"What is the meaning of this?" Shao Kahn demanded looking between Mileena and Sheeva.
"I am taking the throne, Shao Kahn," Kala answered while stopping five meters away from the current emperor.
"You and what army?" Shao Kahn asked with a scuff.
Kala said nothing as none of Shao Kahn's Tarkatans or soldiers came to their master's call. This caused Shao Kahn's eyes to scan the arena not seeing a single one of his soldiers in sight before he growled.
"Where are my soldiers?!" Shao Kahn shouted.
"They have been dealt with Shao Kahn. Before I came here, I sent my family to lay siege to your palace as well as your many outposts. I spared your officers...as they can be useful in the future but some must be eliminated to prevent future crises," Kala answered while his eyes began to glow pure white like a god as souls began to rise from the ground surrounding Shao Kahn and his forces.
Shang Tsung looked at this with a wide grin and was about to absorb the souls of the many warriors. As Shang Tsung was about to start absorbing the souls into himself, a tail from a Xenomorph pierced through the sorcerer's chest killing him instantly. Quan Chi got to his feet and turned around just as he was pierced through by another tail to see another Xenomorph while his eyes looked to the others who waited patiently. With both sorcerers dead, the xenomorphs carried their bodies back to the hive to the feeding chambers for later.
"Then I challenge you to single combat," Shao Kahn spoke glaring at Kala.
"I accept," Kala answered while swaying his hand down dismissing the many soul warriors while Kung Lao and Kintaro left the field along with his wives who made their way to Fire God Lui Kang.
Kitana glared at her sister Mileena and prepared to attack her but was stopped by Lui Kang who placed his hand in front of the Edenian princess.
"She's an abomination who must be killed!" Kitana shouted looking up at Lui Kang and then back at Mileena.
"She is an ally to Kala and must not be harmed," Lui Kang spoke looking at Kitana.
"An ally? Yesterday, she was the reason I was captured and almost executed!" Kitana argued while Mileena chuckled.
"And who was it that saved you sister?" Mileena questioned with her hands behind her back and head tilted slightly.
Kitana glanced at Kala then back at Mileena who only laughed again while giving a small wink before standing beside Lui Kang now watching her husband alongside Sheeva. Kala walked to the arena with his hands gripped into fists while Shao Kahn smirked and manifested his sledgehammer just to throw it at the immortal. The immortal sidestepped the sledgehammer only to see a spear racing toward his face being mere inches from connecting. Seeing the spear so close, Kala brought his right hand up and caught the spear just as the head of the weapon pierced his forehead until a sudden pressure was felt on his gut.
Shao Kahn had shoulder-charged Kala knocking him forward before following up with the emperor grabbing the immortals head and slamming it into the ground. With Kala on the ground, Shao Khan began to stomp on the immortal before his leg was grabbed by Ali'i and pulled to the ground. The moment Shao Kahn touched the ground, Kala got to his feet and kicked the emperor away watching as he pushed himself off the floor and onto his feet as well. A laugh escaped Shao Kahn's lips as he rolled his shoulders back before he charged at Kala who took the attack head-on revealing the two now locked in a standstill.
"A standstill?" Kitana questioned causing Mileena to laugh.
"Heaven's no. Husband is but playing with his toy," Mileena said glancing at Kitana.
"Husband?" Kitana said with shock before looking back at Kala.
Kala scuffed at this before breaking from their lock and slamming his fist into Shao Kahn's gut earning a grunt of pain followed by a swift punch to the emperor's neck. Shao Kahn coughed heavily while Kala brought out his war clubs, one in each hand, while walking around Shao Kahn sighed heavily. The emperor was slowly getting his breath back before Kala brought his left club down on Shao Kahn's left knee causing him to fall to his opposite knee grunting in pain. As Shao Kahn looked up at Kala, he found that he brought the second club down on his head breaking the helmet's face mask while also knocking out a tooth from the emperor.
"I am not one to gloat Shao Kahn...but for all the pain you have inflicted upon my people and Outworld itself...I will have you suffer," Kala spoke before materializing a spear and piercing his right shoulder, and pinning him to the ground. "Your torment will be an example for any who would challenge me in the future,"
Shao Kahn screamed at this before Kala brought out another spear which he used to pierce his left leg into the ground.
"This was never a fight Shao Kahn," Kala spoke bringing out a third spear and piercing his left shoulder. "Do you submit?"
"Never!" Shao Kahn shouted in which Kala nodded his head.
"At least you will die...with a warrior's spirit," Kala spoke before gritting his teeth and kneeling over Shao Kahn's back.
Kala let out a heavy gasp before he began to drive his hands into Shao Kahn's back tearing out his flesh and eating it before his people. It took no longer than half a minute before Shao Kahn passed through the pain while Kala pulled out the emperor's heart and held it in the air. The crowd's roar filled the air as Kala turned to his wife and smiled while getting to his feet and walking over to them. As soon as Kala reached Lui Kang, the two stared at one another before the fire god bowed his head in thanks.
"I kept my promise, Lui Kang," Kala said with a smile while looking to his wives and then back at the fire god before bowing his head in thanks. "Outworld will not go to war with Earth Realm...and future wars have been prevented,"
"...will you accept an alliance with Earth Realm?" Lui Kang asked which Kala looked to Kitana.
"That is up to her. All are welcome to Outworld...with Edenians as well as other races having territories to call their own. If you chose to stay here," Kala said while handing the heart of Shao Kahn to his wife who took a bit out of it. "Just so you know...Mileena...will be Empress of Outworld alongside Sheeva,"
"Two empresses?" Kitana asked with wide eyes before she closed them and shook her head. "...I will live on Earth Realm and assist where I can,"
"And you Jade? Will you follow Kitana...or remain here with Kotal?" Kala asked looking at the ebony Edenian.
"I will remain here with Kotal. Although I wish to always be beside Kitana...I see no reason for me to worry if you will be fighting alongside a god," Jade said with a smile.
As the events changed, so did fate as Kala took up the role as Emperor of Outworld which was ruled not only by the immortal's hands but with the help of his two advisors Tanya and Kotal. Outworld was filled with peace and harmony with the help of an army of souls and the hive that continued to grow. Every year, a tournament would spring up that allowed all the clans to come together and fight to show their merit with much death following due to no mercy being present in these battles. At a later date, Mileena had birthed a son while Sheeva birthed a daughter, both being a warrior class yet both mothers survived. Kala could not help but think it was Necros who had a hand in the birth of his children and the survival of his wives. Even now, Necros watches, maybe not in the physical world but rather in the mind palace.
