Chapter Sixty-Six The Chairman's Kids

The next day after school, instead of an actual club meeting, we played children's games; well, actually me, Kaoru, Hikaru, and Hunny were seriously playing. Mori and Haruhi lagged behind, but sort of played. Kyoya stood behind us, only moving if he had to. The Newspaper Club stood to the side and watched us play. They had no clue what we were doing until Tamaki explained it to them or why. Apparently Haruhi and I were the only ones who'd actually played a couple of these before. Tamaki's reasoning as to why we were playing them, other than the fact he enjoyed them, was that the Newspaper Club needed to learn friendliness. He pitched them a bizarre cover story before yelling at Kyoya to actually join in.

The next game we played was basically hide n' go seek, but for some reason involved a can. Tamaki kicked the can and it bounced off the trees hitting Kotmatsuzawa in the back of the head, giving him another bump. We all pretended to scatter while Tamaki took Haruhi's hand and ran off to actually hide. After the Newspaper Club left, the rest of us came out.

"Kyoya-Senpai, they're gonna try to ruin Tamaki." I told him, "I've been listening to their conversations in their club room and Kotmatsuzawa doesn't want the story you guys outlined, he wants to basically run Tamaki into the ground."

"I thought so." Kyoya replied, "Thanks for keeping an eye on them. I'm glad I planted the recording device."

"I know a faster way, so we can get there before they are." I offered. He nodded and we all left for the Newspaper Club's room.

When we got there, Hikaru, Kaoru and I sat on the desk. I sat in the middle and they sat like bookends on either side of me. Hunny and Mori stood off to the side and Kyoya sat on top of the bigger stack of newspapers and we waited for them to come back.

"I'm gonna expose Tamaki for the twit he is!" We heard Kotmatsuzawa exclaim before he threw open the doors. He gasped when he saw Hikaru, Kaoru, and I.

"So we were right all along." Kaoru said.

"You two." Kotmatsuzawa glared.

"Three." I corrected.

"You don't count." Kotmatsuzawa replied.

"Sexist, egotistical pig." I rolled my eyes.

"I guess it was pretty obvious." Hikaru told Kotmatsuzawa.

"The boss is the only one who hasn't caught on yet." Kaoru added, "He can be really dense when it pertains to anything about himself."

"I should warn you, if you threaten him, there will be consequences." Hikaru told him.

"Are you ready to have the Hitachiins and every other club members' family as your enemy?" Kaoru asked.

"We have connections inside and outside the club, any move against Tamaki, you're going down." I told Kotmatsuzawa, "It wouldn't take a lot of us to ruin you, maybe just one actually." I thought Sumi, although Kyoya, Hikaru, and Kaoru would be enough.

"I knew it, you're nothing but his lackeys, Tamaki and Yuki are holding their parents' power over all of you!" Kotmatsuzawa replied.

'I see he's still bitter.' I thought, shaking my head.

"That's not true." Hunny spoke up, "We don't hang out with Yu-chan and Tama-chan because of their parents." Hunny smiled, "We love them. We all like being around them and that's why we choose to be here."

"Tamaki may be a hopeless idiot," Kyoya pushed up his glasses, "but even so…"

"Well?" Hikaru asked Kotmatsuzawa.

"What will you do?" Kaoru finished Hikaru's question.

"Please leave Tama-chan alone, okay?" Hunny asked.

"I would say the same for Yuki, but we all know the damage you personally tried to do her and Reiko." I told Kotmatsuzawa. Hunny looked at me oddly for a moment. Okay, I guess not all of us knew.

"I'll get you all, it's not just about them anymore." He retorted, "I'll write an article that'll ruin all of you!"

"Go ahead, be my guest." Kyoya replied, picking up the first aid kit and taking out the disc. I took the bug out from under the desk. "Although, what do you think we should do with this little disc?"

"Or about the info we got through the bug that's been under here?" I asked showing it to Kotmatsuzawa, placing my hand on the desk.

"You see they've been here since yesterday." Kyoya told him, "And it recorded everything."

Kotmatsuzawa's club members begged him to give up, he went down to his knees.

"Let me explain it terms you can understand." Kyoya walked over to him, "You will do well to remember that the Ootori group and the Hitachiin family alone are enough stock to remove your father from his position as president of the Kotmatsuzawa Publishing Firm, however, we would never do something like that we are not like you, what we strive for is fundamentally different."

We left the Newspaper Club's room

"Kiko-chan?" Hunny asked as we headed out to the garden.

"Yeah, Hunny-Senpai?"

"What did you mean when you said he was personally responsible for what happened to Yu-chan and Rei?"

"Kotmatsuzawa was the one who took the pictures and created the whole scandal about Reiko, Yuki, and Hikaru because Yuki rejected him and he decided to try to take the both of them down with her."

"I see." Hunny nodded.

"Sorry, I thought everyone except Tamaki, Reiko, and Haruhi knew."

"No." Mori shook his head.

"Sorry." I replied sheepishly.

"I found you." Kyoya told Tamaki and Haruhi when we found them in the garden maze. They lifted their heads up like excited puppies ready to play.

"Where's the Newspaper Club?" Tamaki asked.

"They had to cancel." Hikaru and Kaoru replied, "Something came up."

"They said they're going to focus on writing respectable articles." Hikaru told him.

"So maybe they'll get by without having to shut down." Kaoru added.

"In the fall, they'll have a new president, so maybe the paper will be even better." I smiled.

"Oh really?" Tamaki asked surprised, "That's good news."

"Let's hurry back to the club room and eat some cake." Hunny suggested.

"Yeah." Mori agreed.

Tamaki smiled, "That does sound good." He started cheering for cake, before calling for Haruhi to catch up with the rest of us.

"Tamaki-Senpai's the Chairman's son." Haruhi whispered to me.

"I know." I nodded, "He and Yuki are the Chairman's 's the only reason Yuki's in our class rank."

"What rank would she be if she weren't?"

"I don't think she would actually, with the exception of Literature, Psychology, and History, she's a B/C student at best. Tamaki's the straight A, honor roll student, but he's interested in school, she really isn't." I shrugged, "Did you just find out they were Chairman's kids?"

Haruhi nodded, "Kyoya just told me."

I looked at her oddly, how she couldn't have known that was beyond me.

Chapter Sixty-Eight: A Million Miles Away

Yuki's POV

"Alright, you guys have time for one more warm up before the people start filing in." Professor Amasawa, who was in charge of the drama and choir clubs, told us, "Pick a song you all know, I don't care where it's from, just make sure you all know it so you don't embarrass us if some people start coming in."

We all huddled together and chose a song that unless you'd been living under a rock, you knew it, and we all knew it would annoy the hell out of Amasawa. He had two little girls and he heard this song all of the time. Renge went over the orchestra and told them which song to play and then came back over to us.

"They willing to play it?" I asked her. She smiled evilly and nodded. I nodded, "Good. Okay, we all know who's singing what and that were all singing the end, so let's do this, go off into the guy/girl pairs your singing in, except for Sakura, Renge, Megumi, and Anju who of course don't have a guy partners, Sakura starts the song." They all nodded and went into their pairs. We started to sing Do You Wanna Build a Snowman.

"Whatever I do, I can never escape that song!" Amasawa exclaimed

"We sing it again louder." I replied.

"You're gonna be the death of me." Amasawa groaned, "Get in your positions and get ready to put on a show."

We all scattered to get ready to put on the show and into our positions.

Tamaki's POV

The show was going well. It was definitely better than last year. By the sounds of it, the students got to pick the songs this year. A group of girls did Cell Block Tango from Chicago. A group of guys did Officer Krupke from West Side Story. A small group did It Sucks To Be Me from Avenue Q. The whole cast did Dancing Through Life from Wicked and When I Grow Up from Matilda. They had solo acts filtered in between.

"We're going to slow things down a bit because what is a good musical without a romantic number?" Renge told us, "This musical just came to Broadway and after our next two members heard it, they went to the director and asked to put it into the show. I have never seen anyone fight so hard for a song. You will see them later in other numbers, but I would have to say they put the most heart into this one. Now, with the beautiful song A Million Miles Away from the new musical Aladdin, Yuki Suoh and Kenta Tokitou..." Renge went off stage and the curtain rose.

"Have you ever imagined what'd it be like to take off and never look back?" Kenta asked Yuki.

"Only every hour of every day." Yuki replied.

"What's stopping us?" Kenta asked her, before the music started to pick up as the song started. When they finished the song, the crowd cheered and they went off stage.

I didn't know a lot about Kenta, and I wasn't going to pretend to, but I knew my sister and knew why she would fight so hard for this song, she would probably think of acting upon it too if she knew what was going to happen, but Kyoya, for even considering it, was a completely different story. I knew he loved her, that was obvious, but if he had to, if it was the only way he personally could be with her, would he leave all of his family's money, if he had to choose between his family's wealth and her, would he choose her? Would she even be a consideration?

"Kyoya?" I asked. He looked at me. "Would you do that?"

"Do what?"

"What was in the song, if that was the only way you could be with her, would you do it?"

Kyoya looked at me confused, "It's just a song, Tamaki."

"Think about it, Kyoya." I told him as the next performer went on, leaving him to his thoughts. It was a hard decision to make and it was hard to say how long he had to think about it.
