Chapter Eighty-Three: The World Spins Madly On
Kimi's POV
The next morning Yuki and I got up early to set up the dining room for the guests who come for tea in the late mornings and early afternoon. It was secluded and far away enough from the guest rooms that we could play music. Since it was Yuki's iPod that was playing the music, she got full decision on what was being played while we set up. She's played this one song like three or four times already, Come and Get Your Love by Redbone, whoever that is. I don't even know how she even knows the song as well as she does, maybe it's tied in to seeing Guardians of the Galaxy six times so far, three of them in theaters and the other three online. I don't think I've ever met anyone who falls in love with movies or books as much as she does. I think she falls more for them than for people sometimes. Sometimes I wish I had that ability, I'd have less problems.
"You think those two are gonna get married?" I asked her. She knew them better than I did.
"Today?"
"Well yeah."
"Hell, if I know." She replied, "Doubt it, but you never know."
"Think they're ready?"
She shrugged, "They are what they are and it is what it is, and it has nothing to do with us, so it's probably just as well if we keep out of it."
"None of us keep out of each other's business, that's what family's do."
"I wouldn't really know, would I?"
"Tamaki has never tried to butt into your business?"
"No, not really." She replied, "That was always more of Kyoya's job."
"And for different reasons."
"Same reason, different mask and way about it."
"You're going into your last school year, you have to go back home after that, what's going to happen then?"
"I don't know." She replied, "I haven't really wanted to think that far ahead."
I looked at her curiously. The planner didn't want to plan ahead.
Sumi's POV
"I don't think we should do this." I told Takashi.
"I was about to say the same thing." Takashi replied.
"So what do we do now?"
"Why don't we go and do something for us?"
"What?"
"You have the day off, Tamaki is going to look after Hana and take her out for the day-"
"Are you sure he's the right person to look after her?"
"I have Kyoya and Yuki looking after him." He replied, "She's going to be fine and we haven't had time that was solely for us in a long time."
"What would we do?"
He shrugged, "Anything really. Spend the day together, look around, have dinner. It's up to you."
"That sounds nice."
"Then let's get out of here." He smiled and we left.
Yuki's POV
After Kimi and I finished setting up, she went to help out in the kitchen, Hikaru and Kaoru stuck with her. It was a curious thing, that she was caught between the two of them, a recently extinguished flame and a new budding flame that neither noticed. Very curious who she'll end up with, could go either way, but something tells me, she's going to keep moving forward. Kimi was the type of "princess" (all girls are princesses, it is our right) to sail away with a Captain Hook instead of heading off on a white horse with Prince Charming. Prince Charming was Sumi's thing, and even though Tamaki tries to pass himself as charming, he's not the type of Charming that would be able to pass in fairytales and folklore, he was a bit too sickly sweet and too eager to please, but not so eager to stay, like Cinderella's Prince from Into the Woods. I don't know what had gotten me on this train of thought. It might be because thinking about fairytales, especially Disney versions, made the job of cleaning guest's rooms more tolerable.
"Hey, we're heading off for a few days." Tamaki said from the doorway.
"You and everyone else decided to go home for a while?" I asked.
"No, you and I are heading off for a few days." Tamaki replied.
"Why?"
"Because we have things we need to sort out and everytime I go to try, you're busy, so we're gonna go have fun and try and bury some of our problems before we go back home."
"Your home, not mine."
"Yeah, well there's nothing I can do about that yet."
"Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
"I hate surprises."
"You'll like this one."
"And you know this, how?"
"Because we're twins?" Tamaki suggested
"Kyoya helped you plan?"
Tamaki nodded, "Kyoya, Hikaru, and Kaoru."
"Hikaru and Kaoru packed my bags already, didn't they?"
"Yeah." He nodded again.
"What are we doing?"
"Wanna go to Disneyland?"
"Yeah!"
Tamaki's POV
A Couple of Days Earlier
"So you want to buy her affection back?" Hikaru asked, "Let me know how that turns out for you."
"No, I'm getting them back with Disney."
"I think she'd rather go with Kyoya." Kaoru replied.
"I'd rather stay here." Kyoya stated and sighed, "But I'll help plan it out, so you have your itinerary when you arrive."
Hikaru and Kaoru looked at Kyoya and then looked back at me, "We'll pack for you guys, you stay with Kyoya and work on the itinerary."
"You're gonna wanna go to both Disneyland and Disney Sea." Kaoru told me.
"Plan a few snack places along with lunch and dinner in the day because you're gonna be walking around." Hikaru added, "She's gonna need it."
They left to go pack, leaving Kyoya and I to plan the trip.
"This is going to cost even more than if you had planned in advance and will be very limited." Kyoya stated.
"I've got cash to burn."
"Alright, I've got the park hopper tickets, where are you staying?"
"Get a panorama suite in the Ambassador, everyone else will come up in a few days."
"Wait, all of us are going?"
"Anyone who wants to, just a little later for a couple of weeks."
"Start texting people while I work on this."
We ended up with a group of ten. Hikaru, Kimi, Kaoru, Haruhi, Kyoya, Sumi, Mori, and Hana agreed to come. Mori, Sumi, and Hana paid for their own room, and scheduled their own vacation. They had gotten one of the Minnie Mouse room. We put Hikaru and Kaoru in a Panorama suite, as well as Haruhi and Kimi. Yuki and I took a Mickey Mouse Room, and Kyoya chose his own room, taking another panorama suite. We made reservations at Blue Bayou Restaurant, Restaurant Hokusai, Crystal Palace Restaurant, Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall, East Side Café, Polynesian Terrace Restaurant, Horizon Bay Restaurant, Restaurant Sakura, SS Columbia Dining Room restaurant, Ristorante di Canaletto, Magellan's, Cafe Portofino, Canna, and Empire Grill.I would go to Horizon Bay and Magellans with Yuki. Kyoya would come up first with Haruhi and we would go to Blue Bayou and Restaurant Sakura with them. Kimi, Kaoru, and Hikaru would come up after them and we would do SS Columbia, Empire Grill, Restaurant Hokusai, and Empire grill, and then the rest of the restaurants would be done after Takashi, Sumi, and Hana arrived. It was going to be a summer that all of us could enjoy before we had to go back to school, something to lessen the tension between everyone else.
Kyoya's POV
A few days after the trip
The next time I am offered to go on a trip like that with everyone else, I will refuse. It was the most ridiculous trip I had ever experienced. I had never seen everyone else act so much like children. Takashi, Sumi, Haruhi and I were the adults of the group, everyone else, not so much.
By the time Haruhi and I had gotten there, they looked like they had patched things up for the most part, and then we separated them. Yuki had no problems with Haruhi, just Tamaki putting Haruhi before her. This was going to be a problem that won't go away, so I suggested that maybe she would pick someone and do the same thing. Her reply was that what if the person she chose didn't do the same for her. That would be a problem, a problem I didn't have the answer for. As much as I loved her, I had a lot to risk and much to lose choosing her above my family.
By the time Kimi, Hikaru and Kaoru had come up, we had mostly only saw Tamaki and Haruhi, during parades, fireworks, and meals. When Sumi, Takashi, and Hana came up, Kimi, Haruhi, and Yuki were getting along just fine, the girls had disappeared for half of the day the day before they came up, we have no idea where they went; Hikaru and Kaoru went to ride rides, so I was stuck with Tamaki complaining about Haruhi being gone and taking me into every shop that he could find. Takashi, Sumi, and Hana pretty much stuck to themselves. They met us for dinner, parades and fireworks, but the rest of the time they were doing their own thing. There were only so many rides Sumi and Hana could ride. Once in a while, Takashi would go out with Tamaki and I, if Sumi and Hana would go back to the room. When Hikaru was not with Kaoru, which was pretty rare, he was with Kimi. They could be seen getting a crepe at Café Orleans, a sundae at Troubadour Tavern, or a pretzel at Toontone Treats.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves, why didn't I? It wasn't the worst vacation I had ever been on. It might have been the amount of us who went, it might have been better if we had gone in smaller groups. I think it might have been somewhere I would eventually take my kids, but not really be my first choice to go by myself. I would probably never go with Tamaki again. It definitely wasn't the food, the food was very good. It wasn't the rides, they weren't really my thing, but they were well done. Maybe it was because by the time everyone had arrived I was ready to go home. I was ready to go back to school, but that's still a few weeks away.
"Master Kyoya, your father would like you to entertain a guest before dinner." One of our maids announced, standing outside the doorway.
"Thank you, show them to the living room, I'll be down to meet them in a moment." I dismissed her. 'Guest?' I put down my book and walked down to the living room to find Tamaki sitting on the couch. "Where's-"
"With your brother."
"Which one?"
"Akito."
"Why?" I asked perplexed. They had nothing to do with one another, why would Father have him entertain her? Father wouldn't, unless… "Tamaki, are your grandmother and father speaking with my father?"
"Yes."
'No.'
