Chapter Ninety-Five: Different Destinations

With everything I needed for my trip, the days felt like they sped by. In what felt like no time at all, I was on a fifteen and half hour flight to New York. Reiko's brother Matthew would pick me up when I arrived. Yuki and I would spend the weekend in the city and then we'd hop on a plane to Boston. We already had a tour of Framingham State and Boston College set up and apartment tours for the cities in between the two. It would be up to Yuki if we got married in New York or Massachusetts or if we waited until I came back for the spring break. My time with her over the winter holidays was hers to decide how we spend it. I just wanted to be with her.

When I arrived in New York, I couldn't help but be amazed with the city around me as Matthew and I maneuvered our way through the city. As we drove, he pointed out the different shows and places we were going to see before we left this weekend. They didn't schedule too much, a couple of shows and a few tours. Most of the time would be just us getting reacquainted with one another and since my flight was a little earlier than planned we had a bit more time than we thought. Yuki hadn't expected me until later this morning. Without telling her, I took a flight some hours earlier and arrived after 1 am instead.

As we took the elevator to their floor, Matthew warned, "You might want to brace yourself, Rocket isn't crated and he gets pretty excitable with people he doesn't see a lot and he's pretty protective of Zoe."

Responding in English, I told him as we reached the door, "He was like that when she first got him."

Hearing that I could speak English as well, a wave of relief washed over his face. It must have been a while since he spoke Japanese. He didn't address it though, he merely unlocked the door and let us in. As expected, Rocket met us at the door, barking loud enough that he could probably wake the dead. Except Yuki, once she was out, nothing would wake her. And judging by the fact that she didn't come running after him, she was already asleep. Bending down to his level, I was able to calm him down after a couple of minutes and he went to the couch to lay down.

"Zoe's room is the one on the left." Matthew informed, "I have rehearsal in the morning, so I'll probably be gone before you guys wake up. Her classes ended yesterday for the break and she has all of her assignments in, so she should be fine. Oh and I don't know if Zoe told you, but Rocket's gonna stay with me until you guys furnish whatever apartment or house you rent. I'll drive him up after you get her settled in."

"Thank you." I responded sincerely. He hadn't needed to do everything he was doing, but it was greatly appreciated.

"I'm gonna head to bed." Matthew said heading towards a room on the right, "I'll see you guys later, I'll probably bring back a pizza or something for dinner." He went into the room and shut the door behind him.

Originally, I planned to set my bags down in Yuki's room, change into pajama pants and a t-shirt, and sleep on the couch so that I wouldn't startle Yuki when she woke up. However, when I kissed Yuki goodnight after setting my bags down and changing, my half asleep soon to be wife pulled me into bed with her sleepily saying my name. Unable to help myself, I obliged.

Yuki's POV

Waking up, I tried to shake off the dream I had about Kyoya. He wasn't supposed to be here til later this morning closer to noon and as much I hated to doubt him that was if he made the flight at all and wasn't torn away by a family thing again by his father. I didn't want to think it was a possibility but it had happened before.

"Why are you up?" I heard as I was pulled closer to them. "Normally you have a few alarms before you're sitting up."

"Hey Kyo." I greeted him with a soft smile.

With an amused smile, he responded, "I get on a fifteen hour flight here and all I get is a hey?"

Shifting to straddle his waist, I asked him, "Would you prefer this instead?" I kissed him fervently before he could answer. Within moments, he responded ardently, flipping us over. His lips swiftly moved from mine and down to my collar bone. "Kyo."

"Hmm?" He said in acknowledgement with his lips pressed against my neck.

Lifting his chin so that he would look up at me, I suggested, "Why don't we take a shower. We can continue this in there, maybe a bit more if you're not too tired." Using his surprise to my advantage, I turned us back over so that I was back on top of him and started to kiss down his jaw and to his ear.

"Are you sure?"

Kimi's POV

"Hikaru, have you thought about what you want to do after we graduate next year?" I asked as we strolled around in the park.

"I think I want to study fashion." He replied simply, "I'm not sure where, but that's what I want to do. What about you?"

"I want to study at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris." I told him, "You know there's a lot of fashion schools there if you had any interest in coming with me."

"Paris has some of the best fashion in the world, I'd love to come with you." He responded quickly, "Think of everything all three of us would be able to see."

"Yeah." I responded, trying to hide my awkwardness as much as possible. It's not that I didn't like Kaoru, I did, but I wasn't suggesting that all three of us go. I wasn't going to argue it though, I knew how important family was to him. I'd feel like an asshole if I split them up.

"You want to stay at my house tonight?" Hikaru asked, changing the subject, "My parents are on a business trip in Milan. We could make some popcorn and put in a movie."

"Okay, I'll let Ranka know." I responded as we headed to his car.

Kaoru's POV

"Thanks for helping me with this; usually I ask Kyoya, but he's out of the country for a while." I thanked Carmen as we closed our texts for a ridiculous event Tamaki had wanted us to do. All of us were pitching in more than we normally would so Tamaki wouldn't bother Kyoya while he was with Yuki. Kimi, Hikaru, and I all promised to take care of everything. After staring blankly at the texts Tamaki wanted to incorporate into cosplay and event themes for about twenty minutes with nothing coming up, I enlisted the help of Carmen. She was more into the themes we were doing anyway.

"Oh yeah, sure." She replied, "It was the least I could do with how helpful you've been to me. These seem like a lot for the club though."

"The boss and Kyoya-Senpai are graduating this year, so they want all of the events leading up to the fair in the spring to be big." I explained. "Tamaki-Senpai doesn't know this yet, but Kyoya-Senpai is moving to the States after they graduate to be with Yuki. They're getting married."

"Like over break?" Carmen clarified.

"I think so, yeah."

"Why didn't they invite you guys?"

"I don't know the whole story, but their families don't approve of them being together, so they ran away with each other." I explained, "Kyoya-Senpai is going to finish high school out here, and then he'll go to university out there."

She nodded in understanding, and then asked, "Do you know what you want to do after you graduate?"

"My parents are going to be giving me and Hikaru their company when they decide to retire, so I want to study fashion so that I know what I'm doing when Hikaru and I take over." I told her, "I want to go to Milan."

"That sounds amazing."

"Do you know what you want to do?"

"I want to stay here for a while." She responded, "Maybe go to college nearby or travel the country. I've never been able to stay in one place for very long, so I'd like to enjoy the home that I have while I can."

"If you need any tips, I'm just a phone call away." I told her, "If there's anything you want to see now before we graduate, I'd be happy to go with you."

"Okay." She smiled, before checking her phone, "It's getting late, I should probably head home."

I showed her out to her car and watched her drive away. Closing the door, I pulled out my phone to see if there was any word from Hikaru. He usually texted when he was heading home. He did. He was heading home with Kimi, he was taking advantage of our parents being gone to have her over for the night. They didn't mind that they were dating, but they did mind when Hikaru tried to bring her over to spend the night. Knowing that, he would bring her over when either they were out of town or all three of us were. He usually gave me a heads up so I could decide whether or not I wanted to stay home or not. More recently when he's brought her over for the night a lot, I think he's been trying to convince her to get things to be more serious between them. Who's to say that he's not totally innocent about it though. I don't think so, but I'm also not him. I texted him back that I was staying home. Usually, I'd stay with Kyoya or Tamaki, but I didn't feel like driving or calling for a driver to take me to stay with Tamaki this late. Tamaki was probably asleep anyway.

When Hikaru and Kimi got back, Hikaru excused himself to go change into something more comfortable and look for something for Kimi to wear. I sat with Kimi while Hikaru was away as I usually did when I decided to stay home. It was awkward at first, but we're fine now.

"Did you tell him about Paris?" I asked her. She had been accepted into a six week program in the summer and she had been looking at a culinary school for after we graduated as well.

"I told him about culinary school, but I haven't been able to tell him I'll be gone all summer." She replied, "I feel guilty about leaving him."

"He'll be fine." I assured, "He's going to be happy you got accepted into that program and he's gonna want to visit you every chance he gets." I then asked, "What did he say about culinary school?"

"He wants you to come with us." She answered, "I suggested he come with me to Paris so he could study fashion there and so we could stay together. He wants you to come too and I don't want to be the one who separates the two of you."

"I'm going to Milan after high school and I want him to go with you to Paris, I'll be the one to talk to him about it." I responded before changing the subject, "What's your guys plan for tonight?"

"Movie." She answered as Hikaru came out, holding a set of pajamas for her. It was a sample from one of mom's new sleepwear lines. Bit of a racy choice for sitting out here. He probably grabbed the first one he saw without looking at it. That's okay though cause I still wanted the TV out here and had a better idea where he could watch the movie with her in that pajama set.

After Kimi went to Hikaru's room to change, I suggested, "Have you thought about getting your laptop and playing the movie in your bed?"

"No, but that's a good idea, we can just turn off the laptop when we're ready to go to sleep instead of walking all the way back to my room."

'Or turn it on when you finish doing whatever you decide to do once you see what she's wearing." I thought, watching him pick up a movie.

Hikaru's POV

When I got back to my room, Kimi was already in the pajama set I gave her. My face heated up at the sight of her. She was in black crop tank top with a red dragon and red plaid pajama shorts. The top was a lot shorter than what I thought it would be, barely touching the top of her rib cage. If she were to move her arms, it wouldn't get past her chest. Throwing the movie on to the bed, I pulled her into a kiss. After a few minutes, she softly pulled away, "I'm guessing you like the outfit. Did you know the top would be this short?"

Embarrassed, I answered that I didn't. The top had honestly looked longer on the model. I didn't think there'd be that much of a difference, but clearly I was wrong. Seeing her expression, it was obvious she was trying to hide how uncomfortable in a top that short. I offered to let her wear one of my shirts instead.

"I think that would be best." She agreed awkwardly, "There's no way I'm leaving the room in this. I have too much up-"

"You are perfect." I told her, "It's an issue with the top, not you. I think I have a shirt that would pair better with those shorts." I pulled out a black shirt with the Ghostbusters logo on it. "You can keep it if you want, I never wear it and I know you love the movie."

Lifting the shirt out of my hand, she thanked me. After kissing me one more time, she headed into my closet to change her shirt. I sat down on the bed, still blushing from the amount of her body that I saw. We hadn't gotten to the point where we were messing around, I let her set the pace for that. I just wanted to be with her, it didn't matter to me what we were doing. When she came back out, she handed me the cropped tank top. I tossed it on the dresser and picked up the dvd.

"I was thinking we could watch this in here on my laptop." I told her, "I can get some snacks and something to drink."

"Okay." She agreed, "You didn't strike me as the type to watch Avatar."

"I know you were curious about it and hadn't seen it yet, so I picked it up for us to watch." I told her, "Anything in particular you wanted to eat?"

"Popcorn sounded good." She replied.

"Okay, I'll be right back with that." I responded, "You make yourself comfortable and when I get back we'll start the movie. Soda okay with you?"

She nodded, "Yeah." She sat down on the bed and I headed out to the kitchen.

"Hey, I thought you were hanging out in your room with Kimi." Kaoru commented when I ran into him in the kitchen. He was getting a late dinner by the looks of it.

"Yeah, I am, I'm just getting a snack." I replied, "I thought you were hanging out with Carmen tonight."

"I was." He shrugged, "She had to head home before it got too late."

"You ask her out?"

"No, I don't know if it's a good idea." He replied, "I don't know how a long distance relationship would work or if I like her enough to see, I'm trying to get to know her and take things slow. She wants to stay here and I want to go to Milan after we graduate."

"Milan?" I asked shocked, he hadn't said anything to me about going to Italy. "I was hoping you'd go to Paris with me and Kimi."

"I think you would enjoy Paris more with Kimi if it were just the two of you." He responded, "You guys have a great relationship and I don't think you'd miss me too much if you guys went together, we'd be able to visit each other on breaks and long weekends. Milan is only like an hour flight from Paris, we'd see each other."

"I still don't like the idea of us being apart."

"Would you prefer to be apart from Kimi?" He countered, knowing that would be my only other option.

Surprising myself, I answered without hesitation, "No."

"I was hoping you'd say that." Kaoru said softly.

"I should probably get back to Kimi." I said awkwardly, pouring the popcorn into a bowl. I grabbed a couple of bottles of soda and walked back to my room. When I walked back into my room, I shut the door behind me and without looking up, I told Kimi, "Kaoru's going to Milan after we graduate."

"How do you feel about that?" She asked softly. I looked up at her. She was sitting on the bed with her lower back leaning against a couple of pillows, she was probably feeling some pain in her back again.

"I'm going to miss him, but I know I'd rather be studying in Paris with you." I told her, setting the popcorn and the sodas down on the dresser. "We'll visit with him when we can and we'll all have all of this summer and our last year of school together."

She looked down guiltily, "Hikaru, I got accepted into a summer program in Paris this summer. If I go, I'll be gone for six weeks." It was obvious she was debating whether or not to go since we'd be apart for most of the summer.

Sitting down next to her, I said, "That's amazing. I mean we'll have to figure out the whole long distance thing for the summer and weekends that I can come and visit you so we can get to know the city before we move there for school, but it'll be great. You're going to have so much fun." I rested my arm around her shoulders. "You know you're going to have to teach me how to cook. I've never really had to cook for myself."

Looking up at me, she replied, "I could do that."

"You're going to have to have a lot of patience with me, I know next to nothing about food." I smiled teasingly, "I might end up ruining some of your clothes, I've been told I can be quite messy."

"You ruin my outfit, you make me a new one."

"I could do that." I copied her words, stealing a kiss. Her hands snaked up my chest and found their way behind my neck as she deepened the kiss. More than willing to oblige her, I pulled her onto my lap. Briefly, I pulled away, trying to keep some control of myself before I got too lost in what we were doing. "Just let me know what's too much and we'll stop."

"Maybe I don't want to stop." She replied, kissing down my neck, biting and sucking here and there.

"Don't tease me like that, Kimi." I told her, feeling my muscles start to pulsate and my lap starting to harden.

She looked up at me, "I'm not teasing. I want to try more than we have been, if you're ready for that."

"I-I'd be willing to try some stuff." I sputtered out, not expecting her to say that. Gaining a little confidence, I told her, "We might have to lose these though." My thumb traced the rim of her shorts, "I'd like to keep you in my shirt for a little bit longer."

Yuki's POV

"At some point, you are aware we're going to have to find something to do today, right?' I told Kyoya teasingly. After our shower, we ended up right back where we started, in bed. Not complaining, he's an excellent lover. We are only in New York for a short amount of time though and he's never been. Although if this is all he wants to do with his time here, we could always come back after he moves out here.

"We are doing something." He smirked, "I'm learning all the different ways I can get you to say my name."

I looked down at him from the straddling position we were in. I always knew there would come a day where I was in a slightly more rational head space than he was. "While I'm enjoying this, we are quickly running out of these." I held up the box of condoms, "And I don't think either of us are ready right now for a bigger family than the two of us and Rocket."

"No, no we're not." He replied, sitting up, "I'd rather you not be expecting when I have to leave." He looked down, knowing he'd have to address the other side of the what if. "We're going to be safe about this while I'm here, but if you do find out you are after I leave, I need you to call me as soon as you think you are so I can be on the next flight out."

"It could be a false-"

"I don't care."

"Okay." I agreed, "Now since we're on more serious topics, when do you want to get married?"

"As soon as possible."

"Then we might want to shower and make that the thing we do today." I kissed him softly. Pressing his palm against my back, he stood, lifting me up with him. Wrapping my legs around his waist, I told him, "We shower together, we'll just end up right back here."

"You said we should get married some time today, it's still morning." He replied, "We have plenty of time."

Just as we were about to take our second shower of the morning, his phone went off. He groaned, "Take the shower without me, I'll get in after you."

"Kyo..."

"It's okay, I'm not going anywhere." He promised, "I'll just be in the next room, getting rid of whoever's on the phone." He got a pair of pajama pants from his luggage in the closet, put them on, and went to go pick up his phone.

When I got out of the shower, he was still on the phone. Tamaki was loudly chatting his ear off, not letting him get a word in edgewise and Kyoya was pissed. I changed into a pair of pajama shorts and a t-shirt so I could have something to wear for now. Sitting on his lap, I silently gestured if I could have the phone. He relaxed and handed me the phone.

"Tamaki, I'm taking my boyfriend back." I told him soundly, "You've taken too much of his time, go to bed. Kyoya can tell you about his trip out here when he gets back." Using his astounded silence to my advantage, I hung up the phone. "He won't call back, he'll wait until you come back to talk to you. Now go shower so we can go get married."

"One thing before I do." He replied, "I brought a gift for you, courtesy of the twins and Kimi." He got up and pulled out a hanger bag from his suitcase. "They thought you might want to wear something a little nicer on your wedding day." In the garment bag was a gorgeous sleeveless lace burgundy cocktail length dress, a grey peacoat, and black knee high boots. "I have a suit with a matching tie." Picking up two smaller boxes, he added, "They also helped me pick up these." He opened the boxes to reveal our wedding rings. "Yours has a moonstone center of course and mine's meteorite."

"They're stunning." I responded, "All of them."
