Chapter VIII

Eighth Session

"This... You like it?" InuYasha's voice was interrupted by his excited breathing, keeping Kagome on the bed. His fingers brushed the folds of her sex and became wet from the soft fluid flowing from her.

"Yes, yes... continue." The answer seemed appropriate, and given the context, even her strained expression gave the idea that everything was going well. However, he didn't feel at ease, and seemed engrossed on doing it even better, to the point his own pleasure was relegated and his previously strong and urging erection laid now forgotten.

"Like this?" The answer never came.

Kagome kept her eyes closed, biting her lower lip, as she fought with her heels against the mattress of InuYasha's bed. He insisted with his touches, very assertive at times, yet something in the tone of his voice wasn't right, and couldn't allow her to feel what she expected.

"Kagome?" He insisted again, leaving a kiss on her neck, hurrying the rhythm of his hand between her legs and noticing the muscles of his arms were beginning to painfully tense.

"Stop... stop." She asked him, holding his wrist. InuYasha abandoned both, his kiss and his caress.

"What's wrong?" He inquired, noticing a certain unpleasant sensation of vulnerability that stuck to him since the first time they were together.

Since then, the experience had repeated once again, in a hotel which was near the place they go to therapy. They had kissed at a short distance from it, and albeit the kiss felt sublime, once they were inside the room everything seemed to have gone cold and Kagome actively evaded every single attempt at kissing, which in the end made the whole encounter feel quite poorly to InuYasha. Yes, there had been orgasms, and yes, there had been moans they couldn't hide, aside from two used condoms, yet, he still felt that Kagome was out of his reach.

Today they met early. She arrived at the building InuYasha lived in and rang the doorbell two hours before the therapy session. They had thought it during their previous encounter. InuYasha was awake and waiting for an hour before Kagome arrived. He walked around the place, put the cushions of his bed in their place, left water to boil twice for the tea, and even placed a few daifuru on a place for her to have if she so desired.

He felt like an idiot once he noticed all the effort he was putting into it, and sat at the edge of his bed to look at the messages in his phone. He had a couple from work, and one had been sent by Kaguya.

I'm free tonight. Her message didn't need an explanation.

He laid backwards on the bed, and stared at the ceiling which still reflected the natural light coming from the window. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to think about stopping by Kaguya's to see her, after all, he was addicted to sex, right?

He let out a laugh at himself. It was clear he was now addicted to Kagome and when she crossed the door it become all the more evident.

He tried to kiss her, and in the same way that back at the hotel, a week ago, Kagome dodged it. Taking almost all her weight in his arms, he walked her to the bed. However, She seemed resolved to not allowing him to make the decisions today and stopped him with a negative sound which made him halt his movement and embrace her with less strength. He looked at her eyes, she showed the same subtle charm he had discovered in all of her previous gazes, yet there was also a hint of something else he couldn't quite elucidate.

She walked back to the bed, as her hands deftly unzipped his pants. He didn't need to think too much to know what Kagome had in mind, and for a moment decided to let things simply go.

And he did.

They had reached this point in which she, after touching with her mouth until he exploded, got cautiously naked. After that he had begun to caress her with his fingers, because Kagome didn't allow him to do it with his mouth, and although he didn't understand why, he respected it.

"What's wrong?" He asked again when she told him to stop.

"I don't know... nothing. It's just that..." He saw her sit straight at one side of the bed. "... I'm gonna go to the bathroom a bit."

It took him a moment to react. Kagome's conduct was quite strange.

"Of course." He accepted.

She picked the buttoned dress up the ground, and put it on as she walked towards the bathroom. She needed an instant alone, it wasn't like she wanted to leave the apartment, but she required a moment to get back her composure and control over her mind and sensations.

InuYasha was aware of the shame she still felt to showing herself naked, and like with many other things, he respected it despite not agreeing with it.

When she entered the bathroom, she let the tap water run and wet her hands before washing her face. Her reflection on the mirror was the same she had seen many times before at a hotel or at the apartment of some companion she'd had. However, there was something different in her eyes: fear. She wasn't afraid of InuYasha, to the contrary, it was precisely how comfortable she felt with him what made her feel like that, and she knew that to find an answer in that fear she needed to search too deeply inside herself, and reach emotions she had buried because of how useless and painful they were.

She heard the InuYasha's footsteps outside the bathroom, probably the poor man had no clue. She faced the image on the mirror and decided to leave with the intention of giving him an experience he wouldn't forget, and after that she wouldn't see him again. She fixed her hair, leaving some disheveled strands over her shoulders and breasts, seeking a more sensual appearance; Years of playing at this game had given her the knowledge of what drove men mad. In her mind a certain sound repeated itself, saying he wasn't like the rest. She shook her head, she coudn't allow herself to open up to her emotions, or else she wouldn't be able to be freed of them.

"I'm ready." She smiled as she came back to the room.

InuYasha stood besides the window, completely naked and with a glass on his hand. From there he stared at her and Kagome couldn't but admire the visual show he was giving her. She took one of the daifuru he left on a plate over the table, and approached him with the cake on her fingers to offer him a bite. InuYasha shook his head.

"With the mouth." He asked.

Crap.

Three days after their last encounter, Kagome took the train and made the one-hour way to the place Sango lived with her legal partner, Miroku, for three years now. Both had built a family composed of a pair of twins and a baby of one month. Kagome knew that not having visited to meet her new son turned her into the worst possible friend. However, she hadn't had the energy to see herself between diapers, cries and motherly desperation. She continued reading the book she took with her from home and that was the only one she kept with her for now. It was her custom to ask for them at the library, read them, then take them back and ask for the next one; that way she didn't need boxes for books when it was time to change apartments, and now she was thinking maybe it was time to look for some other place to live.

She let out a breath in a held sigh, she didn't want to include the rest of travelers in her own internal conflicts. She closed the book and her yes, apparently resting from the reading, yet what she wanted was to rest her mind and to stop recreating the images of her last encounter with InuYasha. For some reason, while he touched her, many memories she had kept beneath layers and layers of casual encounters in which control was hers, began to surface.

No, InuYasha wasn't good for her, and of course, she wasn't good for him.

She didn't know him much, nor had she wanted to do so. However, she couldn't miss the evident details of him being a good man.

Did he really suffer an addiction?

That same thought generated another question: Could he be sleeping with someone else?

She couldn't help feeling in her gut the bite of disillusion. Immediately, she told her mind that what InuYasha did with other women wasn't any of her business. The following act of her mind was to answer her with an image of InuYasha trembling in the middle of ecstasy over a body that wasn't hers.

"Crap." She said, opening her eyes and standing up.

She was conscious of the looks she received because of her language and hurry, but she didn't want to care, for she didn't know any of them. She walked towards the next wagon, there were still two stations until her destination.

When she arrived at Sango's home she ran the doorbell outside the entrance towards the little garden outside the house. She waited the necessary time until her friend's features peeked through the door, with two little girls that ran by her and came close to the metal door.

"Girls, let Kagome get inside." She asked, with a patience which seemed incredible to Kagome. She knew her friend could be sweet and calm, sometimes, however that attitude was something constant now, so constant she almost seemed like a different person. "Come on in."

Kagome nodded and crossed the door. Her reception was adhered to the usual formalities, but once they were inside her friend pressed her in a tight hug to which it took her a couple of seconds to respond to. Affection was something that was becoming harder and harder for her.

"I'm glad you could come." Sango mentioned as she freed her from that gesture of empathy. Kagome looked at her an instant and felt transported back to her student years.

"I'm also glad. It was time for me to meet the little Hisui." She handed her the bag with a gift she had for the baby.

"Right now, he is sleeping on the chest of his father. I got to take advantage of Sundays." Her friend smiled, and Kagome felt happy for her, and quite weird because of how little the family life seemed to attract her.

"There is no hurry." She mentioned, then took her shoes off at the genkan and followed Sango to the house's interior.

Two hours later the two friends were inside the children's room. The twins had fell defeated after playing and eating, and the little Hisui had followed their steps and now laid belly-down inside his crib, as Sango gave him gentle taps on his diaper.

"You've already told me about your work, your mother, and your intent to change your place of living, again." Sango began to number. "But you haven't told me anything about a partner. Have you met someone recently?

"And why should I have to?" Kagome shrugged. As if it wasn't enough to be unable to get InuYasha out of her head, now her friend came and reminded her of him.

"The species' survival, for example?" She ironized.

Kagome showed a subtle smile. Sango could always manage to cheer her up with her perspicacity.

"I think you are already working towards that end well enough for both of us." She returned the play to her friend, and saw how she held back a laugh with what she had wishes to express.

"There, there you were quite good." She accepted. "Now, seriously. No one?"

Kagome fell silent for a moment, giving her friend reasons to speculate.

"Kagome?" She called her, as her gaze quickly shifted from doubt to discovery, as she could usually do with her. "You've met someone. "She assured, in a tone that if it wasn't' for the sleeping children surrounding them would have been a shout.

"No, no, no..." She gestured the possibility away, repeatedly.

"Too many noes, you know they cancel each other, right?" Sango couldn't stop looking her with that expression she used and was destined to make it clear she wouldn't leave her house without confessing.

Kagome didn't want to tell anything, and what's more, there wasn't anything to tell. InuYasha had only been one of her casual encounters; there was not relationship, they weren't together, they had only had sex. And it wasn't in her plans to see him again.

"They actually don't cancel each other." She attempted to escape through the humor.

"Kagome!" Sango screamed in a held shout, almost whispering.

"What do you want me to tell you? There is no one I could mention. "

Sango kept the silent alive for an instant.

"You haven't sought a boyfriend since... well, you know." To her friend, it wasn't a secret what had happened to Kagome years ago; by these days, almost five. However, it wasn't but two years ago she had actually told her.

It had been during a time while out with her, and albeit Kagome didn't have the intention of talking about it, one too many glasses and the pressure her friend applied over her getting a boyfriend made her let out all she would have never talked to about, with anyone.

"No."

Sango noticed her friend trying not to continue with the topic, met her gaze, then clenched her hand between hers and smiled.

"The next month will be the twins' birthday. You'll come, right?" She asked, in part to change the topic, and part to get a promise out of Kagome and see her some more.

"Of course." She accepted, receiving her friend's affection.

A Sunday without major obligations could be a really crappy day if you were obsessed with something, InuYasha knew that quite well. For that reason, he had taken double turns at work for today. He woke up early, about five in the morning, to go to one of his earlier jobs. Then, he came back to his apartment at around lunch time, took a shower and laid on the bed to sleep a couple of hours before getting ready for his afternoon job. He'd probably be unable to finish his turn until night fell, and he was content with that. In this moment nothing was enough to stop thinking about Kagome, and he had even received some annoyed messages from Kaguya for leaving her waiting and without answer for her invitation three days ago.

Every time he became free of obligations, he would start thinking of Kagome and the best way to make her cry out of pleasure. In part, it was logical given his addiction to sex. Yet, something didn't quite fit, as an addiction like the one he wielded should be able to be satiated inside any space, but he could only think about her, and that made him vulnerable, a not very assertive.

He looked at himself in the mirror before going out, to make sure his hair was decently combed, enough to not give a bad impression given it was still a bit wet from the shower. He reminded himself it wasn't a good idea to sleep with his hair like that, as despite placing a towel the bed would still end up damp.

He ran down the stairs that gave way to the portal in his usual rhythm that served at the same time to exercise his legs a bit, albeit walking to his workplace was still a good daily exercise. When he arrived at the second's floor landing, he thought it was a bad idea to stop to caress a date there, because then you couldn't pass through certain places without remembering it, and with Kagome those caresses were fire itself. He felt annoyed at the thought and the memory, and put a hand between his legs, taking advantage of his solitude to settle his sex, which had given him a shook he preferred to ignore.

The last stairwell, he descended at a calmer rhythm, as he passed by an elderly woman who lived in the first floor. He wished her a good afternoon and kept descending and fighting the thoughts that kept slipping inside his mind every time there was a moment of respite. It was quite hard for him to find the reason why Kagome seemed so passionate at times, then so distant, as if she didn't want him to touch her without her previous approval.

He couldn't give her a schedule!

He buffed before laying his hands on the door's knob that gave to the street. He looked through the crystal, the same why he always did, and his heart gave him a jolt he didn't expect when he saw her standing at the other side of the street. For a moment, he wondered how it was possible for him to see her as soon as he lifted his gaze; another strong heartbeat tried to give him an answer.

To be continued.

N/A

I'm not one to give an extensive explanation about what's happening inside a story, as I think they should tell "themselves". For this, I will only thank you all for your company.

Lots of kisses!

Anyara.
