Chapter 3

Not ready to be a princess

Two white doors open and Alara steps in.

"This is my room?" Alara asked while she looked around the room in amazement.

"No sweetie, this is your room." Bailiwick blurted out as he opened two other doors to her big bed room. The walls were encased in gold. There was a big window on the middle wall that looked out onto the kingdom. On the left wall was her canopy bed, her bedside table. On the right wall had her reading nook with thousands of books, it also had her studying area and a huge desk with two computer screens. Right by it had her vanity. It had two big and white mirrors on different sides and it had a huge cream white stool. Right by her doors was her closet. It was filled with dresses, shoes, necklaces, rings, and jewels.

"It's so huge." She mumbled

"It looks like the standard princess suite to me." He replied.

"You got your canopy bed, window seat, reading area, studying nook." Bailiwick walked towards two doors. "and in here you'll find all your gowns and royal accessories." He finished.

"Wow." She was in amazement.

'Is Sophia doing okay?' she thought

"Now if you need anything at all any time of day all you have to do is ring this bell." Bailiwick said, walking towards a hanging rope.

He pulls it and a girl rushes into the room.

"Yes ma'am you rang?" She wondered

"Do you need anything?" He questioned bending down to her level.

" I don't know, Do I?" She asked

"Well when you know what you need you know what to do." He responded with.

He walked to the door

"Good evening princess Alara." He said before shutting the door.

"Night." She breathed out as the door shut.

She backed away from the door and looked around.

She felt so uncomfortable in this big castle, in the big room, in this big place.

She hung her head and sang...

"Everything seems crazy big and I'm feeling unsteady."

Alara sang looking out the window.

"Mom says I'll be just fine but I don't think I'm ready."

She knelt to the floor opening up a box and taking out the photo of her dad.

"New school, new friends, new family and a ball where they want me to dance."

She got up and walked to the window looking at the small town.

"I'm just a little girl from a small small town in this world. I don't stand a chance."

She walked away from the window tugging at the dress.

"I'm not ready to be a princess!" She screamed running into the middle of the room

"I don't have what it takes, I'm too short for gowns, I look bad in crowns." She sang while looking at the mirror.

"And I'm going to make a bajillion mistakes." She dropped to the floor and held her head in her hands.

"I'm too average to be a princess!" she took off her crown and looked at it

"I respectfully refuse. I don't know the rules, I don't want the jewels, and these feet were made for comfortable shoes!"

She got up and rushed to her closet throwing the doors open.

"Shelves bursting with trinkets that I'm afraid to touch!" She sang running to one of the shelves full of earrings and necklaces.

""Fancy toys and ginormous pillows it's all too much, too much!" She rushed over to her doors that lead her out of her room

"TOO MUCH!" She yelled as she opened the doors.

Running down the hallways

"I'm not ready to be a princess!"

She looked at a big mirror

"One look and that seems clear. Cancel my debut, keep your royal crew, if I ever find mom's room…" She ran as fast as she can

"I'm out here." She stopped running and fell to the floor.

"Alara, not a noble name.

Alara~ even my wave is lame.

I'm not ready... to be... a... princess." She finished.
