Chapter 4

Jewels for you

Miranda stepped out of the halls

"Alara?!" Miranda exclaimed, looking worried.

"Oh mom!" Alara got up and rushed into her mother's arms.

Inside the room Alara sat on a sofa with her mother.

"What's the matter sweetheart?" Miranda questioned her daughter

"I don't want a royal ball." She muttered putting her head in her hands again

"Oh Alara, I've never known you to turn down a party." Miranda said quietly

'Especially one thrown just for you.' Miranda thought

"But I don't know anything about being a princess." She replied by taking off her crown and shoving it away.

'And I don't know how to dance' Alara thought.

"I'm going to trip and- and everyone is going to laugh at me."She exclaimed

Looking at her mother

"You'll do fine." Miranda said gently to her.

"And besides, no one ever laughs at a princess." Miranda added

"Says who." Alara mumbled

"Come here Alara."

Miranda started while picking up the crown

"Just try the best you can and if it's not good enough for those stuffy dukes and duchesses then that's their problem.'' Miranda finished after she placed her crown back on her head.

"Alara. I have something for you." Roland said as he walked over to them.

"Consider it your welcome gift."

Roland knelt down and pulled out an emerald necklace. The chain was a light sliver that held a green emerald in the middle, a shining green emerald.

It was a pretty necklace. A necklace that fit her perfectly.

"It's beautiful." She gasped in amazement

"It's a very special amulet, so you must promise to never take it off." He added as he put it around her neck.

"That way you never lose it." He ended as he backed away.

Alara looked at the amulet it was beautiful

'Thank you thank you!' she thought

"I promise." she answered with

"Now you best run off to bed, you have princess school in the morning." Roland said "princess school?" She questioned her eyes lighting up

"Royal prep where all the princes and princesses from every kingdom go to learn our royal ways.

Including everything you need to know for the royal ball." He said

'Which I'm very much looking forward to.' Roland thought

"Thank you!" gushed Alara

"Good night Alara." roland stated and he got up

"Night." She waved as he walked off

"Everything's going to be just fine." Miranda said tenderly

Alara got up and walked out of their room feeling refreshed.

Cedric exited out of the elevator.

He turned the corner and encountered Alara

"Sorry mr ceedric." She apologized to him

"Cedric, why can't you remember.. Your amulet." he stated as he picked up his wand.

"Isn't it lovely the king gave it to me." She exclaimed with joy

"Well good night." She said as walked away

'She has the amulet of avalor . But not for long.' he thought as he rushed to his chambers.

Alara put on her nightgown. It was a light pink nightgown. With white lace on the edges.

She pulled the covers down on the bed while she crawled into bed she started humming the tune to A Whole New World.

She had in her hands a doll. The doll her dad gave her before we went out to sea.

"Maybe I am ready to be a princess." she said to the doll.

She turned out the lights and went to bed.
