Nikita could see the determination in Donatello's eyes. He was desperate to fix things with April. He wanted to bring her back into his life more than ever. But Nikita was doubtful that April would even forgive them after everything that happened. Even if Donatello succeeded in curing Kirby, April would still blame the Turtles for causing his mutation in the first place. She knew that April had probably already moved on from them and replaced them with Casey. She and Donatello had both been spying on April from a safe distance away from her. They still wanted to check on her and see if she was okay. They both kept it a secret from the others so as to not arouse suspicion. They didn't want Leonardo or Master Splinter to scold them for disrespecting April's desire to be left alone. They had been saying that April would come back on her own terms but Nikita wasn't assured. It has been weeks since the incident and April still kept her distance from them. But Donatello was still determined to make things right between them.

The next day, April was walking to school with Casey by her side. She was happy to have him as a friend, but she didn't feel entirely happy. Even though she promised herself she wouldn't, she couldn't stop thinking about her former friends the Turtles. She began to feel a bit guilty for possibly replacing them with her new friend Casey. But she also remembered that they were the ones responsible for the mutagen outbreak in the city. She also remembered that they were responsible for causing her father's mutation into a giant mutant bat.

"Just keep walking, April. Forget them like you promised." She thought to herself. "They're not your friends anymore, so pretend like they don't exist."

She and Casey walked into the school and went straight to their lockers. April opened her locker and got out some books for class.

"So I'll see you after class, red?" Casey asked. "Yeah, let's meet outside during lunch." April said. "Sounds great." Casey said.

A few hours later…

April was sitting down on a table outside school waiting for Casey. She was busy eating a sandwich when Casey suddenly dropped by. He sat next to April on the same table.

"Hey, red! How was class?" He asked. "Oh, hey Casey. Class was okay." April said.

Casey could tell that something was bothering April. He got closer to her and started talking to her.

"Hey, is everything okay?" He asked. "Yeah. I'm…doing just fine." April said. "I don't think so." Casey said. "I can tell something is bothering you. Is it about your former friends?"

April was surprised by the fact that Casey was able to tell that she was bothered. She didn't even have to tell him about her ex-friends because he already knew everything.

"Do you miss them? Your friends that is?" Casey asked. "What? No! Of course not. I don't miss them at all." April said. "I know you don't want to talk about it, but I understand what you're going through." Casey said. "I lost a friend too, remember?"

April remembered how Casey told her that he used to have a best friend named Nick. She remembered how he told her about the incident that caused Nick to disown Casey as a friend. It was similar to how April herself disowned Nikita and the Turtles. She felt sorry for Casey and decided to become his new friend. Ever since, the two have been hanging out together all the time.

"You know, have you ever considered thinking about going back to your friends and making amends?" Casey asked. "Why would I want to do that?" April asked. "It'll make you feel better." Casey said. "And I'm pretty sure they miss you a whole lot."

April never thought of the possibility that her former friends would feel that way. She knew that they felt guilty for the incident that caused her dad's mutation. But she was so filled with anger and sadness that she wouldn't hear them out. After that, she vowed to never see them ever again and to return to a normal life. But lately, she's been starting to rethink her decision to leave her former friends. Perhaps Casey was making a good point to her. Maybe she should return to the sewers and make amends with them.

"I'm sure your friends would want to have you back in their lives again. Maybe I can help out too." Casey said. "I don't think so, what happened between us isn't something you can fix." April said. "Come on, whatever they did couldn't have been that bad." Casey said. "You have no idea." April said. "No one can hold a grudge forever. I'm sure you and your friends will make up soon enough. It just takes time." Casey tells her.

April looked at Casey; he had a lot of certainty within him. He seemed determined to help her with her friendship problem. Maybe he didn't want April to go through what he had to with Nick.

"Do you really think so?" She asked him. "I know so." Casey said. "I already lost a friend once. I won't let you lose yours."

Meanwhile, Nikita was walking down the streets at night all alone. Pedestrians were walking past her, busy with their own business no doubt. Nikita was doing a lot of thinking herself, she was thinking about April. She still couldn't get her out of her mind. April was now with someone else and now she'll never come back to the sewers again. She also thought about poor Donatello; he was now more determined than ever to bring April back into their lives. He's spending more time in his lab trying to make a cure for her dad. His experiments haven't worked so far, but that won't stop Donatello. Nikita was so busy thinking about her friends that she didn't notice a strange figure stalking her from behind.

Nikita started to notice someone was stalking her so she turned around to see who it was. No one was behind her so she kept walking ahead. Then suddenly she heard a noise in an alleyway. Nikita took out her daggers to ready herself for a fight.

"Who's there?! Karai? Foot Ninjas?" She called out.

For a moment, silence was in the air. Nikita expected Karai to pop out from the shadows. Then suddenly a calm voice called out.

"Neither. It's just me alone." The voice said.

Nikita saw a shadowy figure approach her from the shadows.

"Who are you?" She asked the shadowy figure.

"Just an old friend." The person said.

He came out of the shadows and stood in front of Nikita. She recognized him all too well: Evil Morty!
