Harry looked around on last time as Faethar's friend Ra'Aneshi set down the last box of clothes into the trunk. It was strange that the room that once belonged to him in the shared dorm in the orphanage was no longer his. Faethar had introduced Harry to Ra'Aneshi as she carried a few of his things out to the waiting car. At first Harry thought his new adopted mother was dating Ra'Aneshi but the man had sputtered out a denial with a stunned look from his new mother.
"Mother." Harry was uncertain as he tried saying it out load. It felt like an insult to his birthmother and yet it would be rude not to call his new mother mother, right? Faethar had patted his head and said he could call her what he wished. He decided that he could grow into calling her mother after that. Seeing that everything was done he thanked Ra'Aneshi for his help.
"You are welcomed... Harry" Ra'Aneshi spoke slowly as if thinking what to say. He opened his mother to continue but he looked pasted Harry and Faethar and frowned. Walking to his friend he leaned in close and whispered into her ear. Harry attempted to listen in. "Someone... Pink lady.. magic... princes."
'A pink lady, magic and princes?' Harry wondered what they were talking about as he stepped into the car with his mothers prodding. Looking out the window he watched as Mr. Jones watched from the doorway as his roommates and friends watched from the doorway. Faethar and Ra'Aneshi got in soon after Harry with Faethar driving the machine.
Ra'Aneshi shivered as the car turned on. "This one prefers a horses saddle to this."
"This one?"
Faethar coughed and Ra'Aneshi looked at her sheepishly before looking at Harry. "This one has a... condition that makes it hard to use what you call I."
"Oh."
Harry looked in awe at the manor house where Faethar lived when the car came to a stop. In the west the sun was dipping as the day slowly transitioned to night changing the sky into a cascade of oranges, reds and yellows with darkness chasing the sun with the moon as an half closed single eye with dark clouds extended like fingers or talons of an eagle. Stepping out of the car Harry watched as two servants made their way out of the manor and made their way over.
"Welcome to your new home Harry." Faethar said with a small smile as she watched Harry take in the sights. However mentally she frowned as one of the twins showed signs of resetting their disguise as they walked out of the building. She would have words with the Bosmer for that slip up. Tapping Harry on the shoulders she nodded towards the trunk where Ra'Aneshi was taking out Harry's bags.
Seeing this Harry made his way over, freeing the Altmer to make her way over to the Bosmer twins. The twins were standing at the top of the stairs leading to the entrance looking at the human child with veiled mix of naked curiosity and concern. Faethar, seeing they were watching the boy and not her, cleared her throat making them jump.
"Oh, our apologies Miss Faethar." The twin on the right said as she bowed but Faethar could tell the Bosmer's eyes were flickering from her to Harry and back.
"Is that... him?" The twin on the right questioned as he looked pasted Faethar by leaning to the side. Faethar corrected this by snapping her fingers to get his attention.
"Yes he is." Staring at the two of them she watched their expressions shifted. Seeing that there won't be any interruptions yet she went on. "There has been a slight... change of plans concerning the adoption and the treatment of the unwitting young prince."
"We understand. Does it have to do with the others following you?"
While Faethar and the twins talked, Ra'Aneshi found himself with Harry watching with as the disguise Khajiit took out the bags making the cat folk uneasy.
"Can I help?"
"Ra- ahem. I'm quite able." Grunting Ra'Aneshi took out the wooden suitcase with one arm and held it into the air making Harry gasp at the feat of strength. Granted, Ra'Aneshi wasn't human and the case wasn't all that heavy, it was only because of Harry's own strength and size did it appear amazing.
"...Wow..."
Hiding a smile Ra'Aneshi took out the duffle bag and tossed it to Harry who tumbled with it. Shaking his head Ra'Aneshi spoke up as he got out another bag, "Your going to need to work on your strength if you want to be as strong as this one child."
Nodding, Harry shifted the bag so it was more comfortable for his frame to carry. Unfortunately for him two events happened. The first was do to the toss the objects in the bag were moved so that were jumbled slightly. Second was a small hole that when he shifted the bag was now facing downwards. Together with his hold the bag ripped open, spilling his things onto the gravel. Embarrassed Harry scrambled to pick everything up all at once making a bigger mess.
"You ok?" Ra'Aneshi gave a snort of amusement as he watched Harry's attempts. Then he noticed something strange. 'What is this?'
Harry, preoccupied with collecting everything that had fallen, did not notice that a book was against Ra'Aneshi's foot. The in disguise Khajiit however did notice. Picking it up he took a quick glance.
'The lord of the rings? Interesting, perhaps this one will read it.' Ra'Aneshi thought as he placed the book on top of the boxes he was carrying, the tip of his hiding tail twitching. He hated not seeing his glorious tail but it was very clear when they appeared in this realm of Mundus, Oblivion or whatever, that these humans have never seen a mer and beastman before. The strangely dressed thief ran away screaming don't eat me let that impression hurt a little.
He wasn't a were-form after all.
"Sorry for making a mess." Harry said once he had collected what he assumed was everything and set the hole facing upwards as not let spill anything else out. Tilting his head back to tilt his glasses back onto his face he sent Ra'Aneshi a grin. "Let's go!"
What Harry did not know, nor did the agents of the Thalmor, that another set of eyes were watching the activity around the manor.
"... So this is the last heir of the Septims. The information my agent collected was correct... this time." The first figure clad in black said with an echoing voice as she stared at the manor with glowing eyes with a slight frown on her face. She did not enjoying this plane of existence, it felt wrong. But the mad prince had asked politely for her to do a task in return for not using her as a test subject for a new beast he called aliens. She repressed a shiver at the way the moral screamed as one busted out of his chest while the prince laughter filled the room with the screaming. While she did enjoying making mortals suffer, she did not enjoying the practice on her.
"The princes wishes for him to be... properly looked over." The dark seducer hissed as the daedric entity sharpened her sword. She and her daedra companions stared at the manor with loathing. Sheogorath was very upset he couldn't watch the boy and had disappeared for a vacation with the last words being he was out for tea, but not before talking with his fellow princes Malacath, Azura and Sanguine, with Sanguine being the reason of the other two knowing of Harry because of his drinking habits. Considering that the supposedly last Septim was a follower of his Sanguine was very interested in the boy. Malacath's and Azura's interest in the boy was more of unknown factors but the mad prince allowed them to gain more information on the boy by forming a team lead by a neutral daedra to each prince.
Looking over to her leader, the seducer scowled as Lyranth just stood there watching. Near her the Azura's daeda formed a portal to get them to Fargrave to look for mortal agents to gather more information more effectively. The strange stick waving magic user who wore too much pink was a surprise but the seducer couldn't wait to start gleaming formation from her once she dragged her to Dementia. Lyranth did not approve, saying they would give the pink thing to an old acquaintance. Even if she was her leader for now, if she failed to prove herself then-
That was the last thing the seducer thought before several ice shards slammed into her chest then head making her scream as her form decorporealized as the Bosmer agents appeared out of thin air, swords drawn and spells at the ready to cast. However the seducer was the only one they hit as the other two daedra had vanished into a portal. Looking at one another the agents frowned before heading back to the manor as the illusion of them had them still with their Altmer friend. While she was an acceptable illusionist, she was not a master at the more complicated aspects of the art like a true master of many years. Then again adventuring mastery wasn't the same as a student of the art. While overlapping, the philosophy and use of the various branches of magic were different between those who studied the craft for years for deep understanding vs a more shallower approach of an adventurer.
"Why are daedra here?" The male Bosmer asked as he lead the way.
"Perhaps a faction doesn't wish to see us bring the Septim child to Summerset?" His sister answered as she jumped over a small rock fro the fun of it.
"I doubt it. Perhaps a cultist found out or was one of the aids? Then told his or her prince?"
"The Altmer claim there are no daedric cultists but events after the Oblivion crisis among others seems to indicate that is a false assumption."
Silence filled the air as the night fell on the mer and Harry, tired from the day, went to sleep once he was settled down in his new room. Ra'Aneshi was next to go to bed with the Bosmer twins making sure the dishes were washed. As for Faethar herself, she went to the basement to make her report about her mission success. Therefore there was no one to witness on Harry's book shelf a empty space light up before fading, revealing a new book in the place of the light.
